hey ,
im TTC , had Mirena removed 3 weeks ago but had no signs of time of the month not using protection, any advice with what to do re testing/ waiting/ trying not to get down if not getting preggers straight away?!
x

baby2b · 09/07/2010 09:47

Hey alien, I would wait until AF is due before testing. My reasoning is that if I test early and it comes up negative, I just think that the test could be wrong and end up feeling a bit down waiting for my AF.

As for not getting preggers straight away, I wouldn't worry as it can take your cycle a couple of months to get back to normal anyway.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you storm and twowoulddo. xx

StormTTCbabyNo1 · 09/07/2010 17:03

Thanks for the well wishes girls but I was right about AF, I am like Clockwork, she arrived at 10am this morning just as predicted.

Nevermind eh........here's to TTC Cycle No.2 - we will be a success

Hope your all well

Hey I don't know when I am due as not had anything for 5 years this is what is making it so tricky for me to get my head around x

baby2b · 10/07/2010 15:08

I had an implant rather than mirena, but I know how you feel. There seems to be a lot of people who start trying and get pregnant straight away, but just as many who have to chart their cycles for a while to spot ovulation etc...

It might be worth speaking to your doctor and finding out if you need to wait a few months before ttc after mirena. Is this ttc attempt 1?

alien06 · 10/07/2010 16:56

hey baby2b,

yes this is my first ttc attempt
I think my body is now getting back to 'normal' well had some signs of starting to have my time of the month, but scared that it wont develop into anything! Fingers crossed that it does, even if I end up wincing in pain from the stomach cramps etc!

LovesCake · 13/07/2010 16:29

Hi everyone,

Im new to MN as well, think I needed a few days just to get used to the lingo alone! Its great to be reading lots of different stories, with people in the same boat as me.

My OH and I are a little cautious when to start TTC, but im on the pill atm - been on it for about 4years (and Depo for 6 years before that) so im worried how long it will take for my cycle to go back to normal. Any advice from people in same situation and/or advice on what to do in preparation for TTC will be appreciated

xx

alien06 · 13/07/2010 18:50

Hey LovesCake

I had the Mirena for nearly 5 years and I had the same worries, but I had it taken out nearly a month ago and am currently on my first cycle
I was going to wait until the time limit was up on my Mirena , but took it out as thought it might take me ages to get pregnant so didnt want to waste time.
Now I am just hoping it doesn't take too long! I am sure that whatever you decide to do it will all be fine

waterloo51 · 13/07/2010 21:31

Hi Ladies, im TTC #1, im new also and trying to get my head round the lingo also lol. I have been trying for a year now and still no luck. its good to get chatting to people in the same situation.
Im on my period at the min so next week the Ovulation tests will start again!!!!! Heres hoping
Good luck ladies

alien06 · 14/07/2010 21:40

Hey waterloo51
Im TTC#1 to Yep all this lingo takes some time but I am sure that we will both get the hand of it eventually :0) Ooooo ovulation tests..... not tried them yet, docs advised against them.. probably as they think I will become too obsessed with TTC instead of relaxing lol

InTheSunshine · 14/07/2010 22:21

I stopped with the ovulation test for that reason - became so obsessed with them!! Trying just to relax, getting difficult after 7 months!

waterloo51 · 15/07/2010 13:21

alien06 and InTheSunshine, i think I may offically be OBSESSED lol. Its so hard tho not to think about it. I may take your advice and juct try to relax. O the Joys lol

alien06 · 16/07/2010 21:43

waterloo51 that is a good idea, I am trying to relax too, but everyone around me is getting preggers! And I seem to find myself getting annoyed as they are totally unfit, smokers etc and then I am healthy, fit and do everything right. Grrr then there are the ones who are drinking away and smoking whilst pregnant, and I know it is a personal decision but just gets to me.

And all this ranting is after only starting to try lol

Nicolaplus1 · 17/07/2010 21:00

Hi ladies sorry for not posting for a while , i have been reading

I find i get tooo crazy if i post to often lol, anyway am now on the 2ww again have about 5 days before i can do an early test.

Hi everyone, i am reasonably new to MN and myself and DH have decided now is the time to TTC!! Quite excitied but anxious too, we have decided to go with the flow and not to get crazy about whats right and wrong etc. I want to be laid back and let everything happen naturally (hopefully). So this is our first month trying so fingers crossed for me and everyone else!!

Nicolaplus1 · 17/07/2010 21:47

Hi molly welcome to the thread.

Here's to lots of baby dancing

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and onto month three of seriously ttc. My period is due in 5-7 days and I'm going a bit mental waiting, so thought I'd join up here.

Good luck with the weight gain Luisa. A nurse once told me that the best way to put on weight was to eat snacks between every meal. Nuts and dried fruit sound like just the thing.
