Sorry appear to hav posted twice. I can be such a fool sometimes!!!

Nicola yes, this will be my first. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself, very much taking a 'see how it goes' approach.

almostknockedupgirl so glad someone else has been tucking into the wine rack. I think I was bordering on alcohol dependency but now the last bottle of wine has been drunk so DH and I are planning to be healthy together. We will see if he sticks to it! I on the other hand will have no choice...

It is very weird having been consciously trying to avoid pregnancy, pill, morning after pill, coil, condoms etc to now be actively trying to have a baby.

DH has accidentally got 2 girls pregnant before, they both ended in terminations so he expects everything to happen immediately but I really have no idea how long it could take. The GP said up to a year!

Thank god we have a holiday a fortnight after my coil is removed, a wee bit of relaxation ma be exactly what I need to help us conceive - woohoo!

Hello everyone

I hoping that what arrived in my knickers this morning was implantat

ion bleeding!!! I'm 6 days short of AF so it can't be that. There was quite a bit of pale pink discharge so quite similar to last time though it was brownish in colour then.

I'll just have to wait and see wont I as don't want to get my hopes up too much?!

almostknockedupgirl · 07/06/2010 19:05

Good luck to you both yumstepmum and florence! Sounds promising florence, and I suppose anything is possible yumstepmum? Fingers crossed...

Luisa, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's been drinking the cellar dry! Although my hubs has not said a word about going teetotal with me through pregnancy. Humph. And at least you know your husband's bits work. ;) We just have to wait and see...

We also have a bit of holiday around the week when I suspect (not like I've been charting or anything, so this is a wild guess) I'm due to ovulate. I'm really hoping we get lucky. (While still knowing that to be wildly unlikely. Doing my best to hang on to reasonable expectations here... Not succeeding terribly well.)

So day 28 and today I have been mostly feeling really quite sick. Not in my imagination I'm sure. But yet another BFN when I tested with one of those early response tests.

I am wondering if feeling sick might be a PMT symptom for me that I never noticed before because of being on the pill for so long. If that's the case then its really cruel because every month will be like mental torture!

AF due on Thursday so determined not to test again until Friday. It's just too depressing.

I reckon BDing counts as the regular exercise!

Nicolaplus1 · 07/06/2010 21:45

sloathy resist temptation until friday at the least, i personally am not a great beleiver of the early response tests!

Symptoms do sound quite positive though

Goodluck Sloathy. I would wait a little while to test though.

I'm due on Sunday so will leave testing until Tuesday or Wednesday (how can I possibly wait that long). Fingers crossed

Florencelikescakes · 08/06/2010 15:29

First month for me total newbie no idea about anything - and at the grand old age fo 34 I have a lot to learn!!!!

I went to the Dr's today regarding something unrelated to pregnancy but depending on whether I'm pregnangt or not would depend on what meds I would be given IYSWIM.

The Dr said that if I was due on Sunday then I would NOT get a positive test this early on. I would have to wait till Saturday at the earliest. Fingers crossed.

sloathy · 10/06/2010 18:59

Day 31.... Have checked the diary and got my days a bit wrong and AF actually due tomorrow. Still feeling queasy but also some AF like cramps. Will test on Saturday morning if it doesn't make an appearance tomorrow but don't feel very hopeful.

A friend of time gave me a good tip today - every time you get the urge to buy a test put the money in a pot for buying things for the baby instead. Might give it a go next month as I've spent way way too much on tests so far!

almostknockedupgirl · 10/06/2010 20:04

Sorry to hear that sloathy. Must be so disappointing after all the symptoms!

Luisa82, I had my mirena out today, and it was a painless breeze. Just thought I'd let you know! My period is due Mon/Tues, and then I'll finally properly join the rest of you ladies!

Fingers crossed for you florence2511! And anyone else who's counting down in the 2ww!

Nicolaplus1 · 10/06/2010 22:58

Thanks

baby2b · 12/06/2010 22:00

Hi everyone, this is my first time ttc. Just got my period after my third month of trying. Thinking of trying temperature testing and/or ovulation kit to check everything is ok. Do you guys think it is worth going down this route?

I had the implant, so think my body is still trying to get back to normal. Decided not to do any more early pregnancy tests as I have spent a fortune!

Very exciting to see someone is pregnant already, Congrats Sloathy! Lots of baby dust to everyone else!

wakarimasen · 13/06/2010 07:51

Hi

I would like to join this thread too. I am currently on month 3 of TTC#1 and am on CD15. I was on the pill for 12 years before coming off in January but have found my cycles to be awfully short. I am trying Vitamin B6 this month.

baby2b I started temping last month and its really reassuring to see that you are ovulating normally. I use fertilityfriend which is great beacuse they do all the work! Just buy a digital thermometer from Boots and start on CD1.

almostknockedupgirl · 13/06/2010 10:05

Hi clarebear1. I hope this isn't hugely patronising, but here's a little bit of a very basic introduction to it all...

When on the pill, you're not having a real cycle - the bleed you experience between packs is just a withdrawal bleed. When off the pill, the first day of your real period (i.e. not the withdrawal bleed you get immediately after stopping) is day 1 of your cycle. Your cycle length is then the number of days till your next period. The average cycle length is about 28 days, and most women ovulate 14 days before their period. (However, people can vary hugely from this on an individual basis.) You are most fertile from a few days before you ovulate, until a day or so after.

If you want to go down the route of trying to understand when you are fertile, etc, then the Fertility Friend website, and the book Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler get lots of props around here. Or you can just have sex every other day all month, and you'll be covered in case of any eventuality. (Tiring, but it should work, provided you and your husband don't have any fertility problems.)

Again, I'm really sorry if that was patronising, but I hope it helped!

Hope everyone else is having splendid weekends! My period came yesterday (whoop!) so I'm now on day 2 of my cycle and officially TTC! Bring on the shagfest...

baby2b · 13/06/2010 11:23

Thank you wakarimasen, I will have a look at fertility friend. I am now on day 3 of my cycle, so will need to get my butt in gear and get a temping kit.

I am trying to keep the pressure off by not telling everyone I am trying, so it's nice to see lots of people here in the same boat as me.

Good luck trying everyone x

sloathy · 13/06/2010 16:43

Thanks for the Congrats everyone. I still can 't quite believe it and have done at least ten more tests since the positive one just to make sure!

BeckyC26 · 13/06/2010 17:46

Hi everyone

I am new to the site and to ttc. I had my implant (implanon) removed end of April and now on our second month of ttc for #1.

I'm the same as you baby2b, thinking about trying temp charting to check everything is back up and running. Have you gone straight back into a regular cycle after having your implant removed? I thought I had but this morning I had some spotting (7dpo) so think maybe af is coming early!

clarebear1 · 13/06/2010 18:32

Almostknockedupgirl: Not patronising at all, very helpful in fact. Just worked out my cycle is 28 days ;-) thanks

clarebear1 · 13/06/2010 18:55
