Hiya, ive just come off the pill on sunday so am still awiting my first 'proper' period. We are not really trying as such but were not taking precautions either, we are to go with the flow ;-)

Nicolaplus1 · 02/06/2010 10:43

Hi clarebear is ths your 1st?

OP posts:
Emmmmer · 03/06/2010 22:16

I'll join because I'm ttc for the first time, so I'll need all the advice I can get lol.
I didn't continue taking my pill after the packet ended end of march, had April monthly and then may which started on 3rd. Cycle was 35 days last month, and I haven't 'come on' yet so I'm assuming it will be the same again unless I've been lucky this time

Nicolaplus1 · 04/06/2010 06:24

Hi emm

I got pregant withing 2 months 1st time round so fingers crossed for you that you have been lucky

am hoping this month is my month, cant bear the thought of it taking months now we've decided lol

KHT1975 · 04/06/2010 16:15

Hi, I'm completely new here. Been reading a lot on MN, but this is the first time Ive posted anything.Still trying to get used to the lingo!
Came off the pill on Sunday and no period yet. Really want it to start as I havent had a period while I've been on the pill and have no idea where I am in my cycle. TTC #1

sloathy · 04/06/2010 19:17

Hello

I'm quite new to this game too. This is our first month of 'properly' ttc #1 and am in the middle of the dreaded 2 week wait. AF due next thursday. I have had very odd cramps and stitch like pains for the last few days. Like a fool I've tested twice (way too early) and both BFN :-( Still hoping though!

Nicolaplus1 · 04/06/2010 21:20

Hi KHT, welcome to the thread, i dont get half of te lingo on here, tend to just use proper words lol

Hi Sloathy
very easily done testing early because even if they were implantation cramps it wouldnt pick up yet
Try if poss to wait il next weekend

Hi Nicolaplus1
No my 1st DD is 4 now, first time that were trying tho as last time was a complete shock. Only took 4 weeks tho so could be that quick again.
Can anyone confirm that coming off the pill makes you extremely...erm how shall i put this... HORNY!? Or is this feeling phycological??

spilttheteaagain · 05/06/2010 21:20

clare I was so so horny when I came off the pill, always up until ovulation, after that, not fussed! I do think that being on the pill killed my sex drive though. It is a known side effect. DH was very pleased shall we say with the effects of ditching the pill !

clarebear1 · 05/06/2010 21:42

Haha, i dont think DP can keep up with me atm, hope this keeps up... ;-)

almostknockedupgirl · 05/06/2010 23:22

Hiya! I'm a newbie to MN and TTC. So would definitely appreciate some TTC buddies. Although not officially trying till mirena comes out on Thursday.

Re post-pill horniness - I definitely had that when I came off it previously. Such a libido killer!

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend!

florence2511 · 06/06/2010 01:14

Hi I'm not a newbie to MN, but am a newbie in the ttc threads.

I'm ttc number 2 and this is our second month of trying. Have a DD already.

AF is due in a week so I am crossing fingers.

Spilttheteaagain - my goodness. You could be me. I was on the pill for a couple of years and it killed my sex drive then when I came off it I was a rampant sex queen. Now I'm back to normal.

Good luck everyone.

TheNextMrsDepp · 06/06/2010 01:25

You lucky people, when I came off the pill all I got was rampant acne!

Nicolaplus1 · 06/06/2010 07:10

LOL at the comments re sex drive, i would have to agree, you dont actually realise the diff till you come off the pill

Glad to have fellow TTC buddies.

I am currently on day 10 of cycle and waitin for ovulation so we can crack on!!

Silly question for you all ....... i am off to flmingo land for the weekend on friday, what do i do about th rides????
Am thinking if i do ovulate this week am obviously not guna know if ive conceived o not but should i avoid the rides in case??

OP posts:
almostknockedupgirl · 06/06/2010 10:10

Hi Nicola, I would guess that once you don't actually touch any animals (or their poo) you'll be OK. Not a silly question though, I'd be wondering the same thing in your situation! ( And I'm no expert, by the way. Just my guess.)

LOL at rampant sex queen vs rampant acne.

Good luck to everyone who's properly trying already. I can't wait for Thursday...

sloathy · 06/06/2010 13:51

I am going crazy! Still having cramps and had a very small about of bleeding late last week which I thought was AF appearing early but it never really amounted to anything so now I am obsessing about the fact that it might have been implantation bleeding. Am also having definite waves of nausea but got another BFN yesterday. Not sure exactly when I ovulated but at the least I think I am probably 8-10dpo.

DP and I had a row last night about me being irritable - men!

Nicolaplus1 · 06/06/2010 19:55

almostknockedup - am loving the name btw lol

Was thinking more about the rides really.
so thursday it is then, is this your 1st?

sloathy bet ur going mad! does the bleeding co inside with ovulation??

It is sounding very hopful with the nausea but think tests dont pick up till around 14 dpo so try to wait till after then

OP posts:
almostknockedupgirl · 06/06/2010 20:13

Hang in there sloathy. Fingers crossed for you!

Nicola, I just saw flamingo and went off on a tangent, sorry. I have no idea whatsoever about the rides!

And yep, this will be our first time. Mirena comes out Thursday, my period is due the following Monday, and then we'll see what happens! Even the hubs is really excited (though trying to be all nonchalant and cool), which is beyond cute.

Have you been charting and all that, or are you just having sex relatively frequently with fingers and toes crossed?

sloathy · 06/06/2010 20:18

Hi Nicola - I don't think so. I think I ovulated around the weekend of the 21 -22. I have avoided taking my temperatures because I didn't want the whole process to get too "technical" as it might take all the fun out of it! But now I am thinking I might take temps next cycle just out of interest to see when I ovulate. Its amazing isn't that (for me anyway) you spend years worrying about getting pregnant accidentally - who knew that its acutally quite hard!

Nicolaplus1 · 06/06/2010 20:29

sloathy i know LOL, am with you on the getting to technical although i cant honestly say that if i dont get caught this month, that nxt mont wont be the technical route

almost how exciting i remember bein i that position and DD is now 18 months.
I acualy used ovulation prediction sticks the 2nd month ttc dd as the 1t month we did it like rabits for the fertile week and nothing happened, then found out courtesy of the sticks i ovulate a little later day 16-17 so had BFP the 1st month of using them.

Have sticks on the go at the mo ( u know just in case its changed for any reason LOL )

You see baby dancing seems to be a little more difficult now than last time, so requires more planning lol so dont want to leave it to fate

Hi girls,

I am new to MN and TTC. My coil (copper not mirena) comes out on the 16th. During my period - eek does that make a difference? My strings were cut too short so I need a scan to have it removed.

Also coming off prozac before TCC as my GP said although I could carry on with it, it is better to be off it.

Started taking pregncare, but not got the regular exercise thing in action yet. Is anyone else managing regular exercise?

I am also have a slightly low BMI so trying to gain weight (mainly eating nuts and dried fruit).

Also good excuse to buy some sexy undies to entice dh

Sorry girls, just saying everything I have been thinking recently.

Good luck to all

x x

Nicolaplus1 · 06/06/2010 20:44

Hi Luisa and welcome to the thread, is this your 1st ??

Not sure about the coil question hun, have never had 1 it might take you a couple of months to get cycle back on track.

Excercise ?? unless a trolly dash round the supermarket counts that will be a no LOL

OP posts:
almostknockedupgirl · 06/06/2010 20:54

Ha Nicola! I bet it requires a bit more planning. I hope I could carry on just shagging if we don't get pregnant right away, but there's no telling... Getting 'technical' will be tempting!

Hi Luisa82. I think they prefer to remove coils during your period - apparently easier. I started thinking about doing some yoga, but I've been too busy drinking my way through our current wine stores to really break a sweat yet.

And it's crazy, isn't it sloathy? I've spent the last 11 years doing all I can NOT to get pregnant. It feels so counterintuitive to be doing the opposite!

New to MN and not yet TTC, waiting a couple of months but have had a 'go' this month. DH felt like it, although just want to wait a couple more months for pat leave reasons next year. The one 'go' was around 5 days before ov - I've all my fingers crossed for a miracle - is it possible it could happen? Usually just use w/drawal method so have been jumping DH on a fairly regular basis in the hope of an accident!

GL to all
