A new thread! This is for anyone who is trying to conceive their first child - anyone welcome!

The current stats list is shown below, UCL means usual cycle length, and CD is cycle day.

In theory the person who starts the thread gets a BFP before the end, but I'll just be happy to get AF turn up again!

LankyLegs · 19/05/2010 09:25

Morning all

Hope you are all well. womanly i know how you feel and just wanted to send you a hug. Just hang on in there - you will know very soon hopefully! Keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP.

My cycles are all over the place and I started spotting yesterday (on CD 26 WTF?!) so am thinking am out again this month. I am also wondering whether to just give it a break - we have a lovely holiday booked in Tuscany in 4 weeks time and would be nice not to worry about the whole TTC thing. Have been off the pill since last September now and my cycles have been ranging from 28-31 days and I have suspicions that i might be ovulating really late. Am thinking that I am going to temp this month and just get to know my cycle before we attempt again and also visit my rubbish GP to get some tests done. Just getting fed up of everyone asking 'any news?' (even though I haven't told anyone we are trying) people just assume you are trying because we got married last year! Sorry for the moan - just didn't want to moan at DH as he always get the brunt of it - poor him!

Wajs I'm sure you haven't missed the boat just re-iterating what the other girls said about OPKs - you should be good to go for 2 days after a positive.

Halo hope you are feeling better? Was it ok getting back to work? They should be good about these sorts of things - if not they need a kick up the behind.

Florin glad you are more in control of the situation - sounds like the temping is working too! Have you signed up to the VIP fertility friend? Am contemplating it myself

Cave interesting facts about the stats - these things are printed so small that you need bloody binoculars s- cheeky buggers!

I have 5 pregnancy tests stored up at home but have had no chance to test as bloody AF arrives every month (on whatever day she facies at the moment!) I guess that's better than constantly peeing on them and thus spending a fortune on them every month.

Zippys am pleased about your fertility referral - its good to know that things are moving on in the right direction. Best of luck with that and keep us posted on your tests.

Hi to anyone I have missed. Hope you all have good days!

womanlytales · 19/05/2010 10:27

No, no, noooo MrsWajs please don't put me on the 'waiting to ttc' list -- Had a chat with DH last evening..adn really sorry about my emotional up and down and sideways...
We definitely are still ttc...and will need to see this cycle to its end and work with the outcome..
Oneof8 I am really happy for you - and thank you for sharing - it helps me pull myself up and stop with all the negative self-pity whirl I'm on.
halo, Aries. mumsnerves - Thank you for the kind words and hug It really cheered me up.

womanlytales · 19/05/2010 10:31

lankylegs hug back - - It's totally ok to moan..I feel much better after my rants and agree about DH getting the brunt of it too

LankyLegs · 19/05/2010 12:58

Thanks womanly

AF just arrived so whoever is kindly updating the stats next please can they update mine to: LankyLegs TTC#1 cycle 7 UCL29, CD1

Thanks ever so much
xx

Ariesgirl · 19/05/2010 15:24

Lanky, you married last year and people are already asking ? Christ! I married eight years ago. Wonder what they think of me? "Must be barren, poor thing. Either that or he's firing blanks." I wonder why people think it's any of their business?

LankyLegs · 19/05/2010 15:50

I know its arse isn't it? My muver is top of the list and then its my sisters (of which there are 4 and most of them have kids... 'oooh when is little Jimmy going to get another cousin' 'piss off' is my response) and then there are my friends - who just think its amusing to ask

Tis quite rude to ask me thinks - I mean they have no idea if anything could be wrong!

I'm sure your family and friends are nowhere as bad as mine Aries so I wouldn't stress -anyway why do we even give a shit what other people think right? I must take dose of own medicine....

Sorry CD1 today and here is a dark cloud above my head and am not in the best frame of mind!

Chocolate and wine is needed me thinks!

kkas · 19/05/2010 17:18

hi haloflo yes - i do mean our car. we have one of the older minis (1994) which is bright red and a lot of fun. this is the third year we have done the London 2 Brighton and it's always a good day out. and gives DH and i an excuse to take a monday off since we couldn't possibly contemplate driving all the way back in the same day!

wannamummy · 19/05/2010 21:01

Congratulations oneof8!!!! i'm so chuffed for you, particularly when you had BFN, I'd be in shock! xxx

Hope everything goes well with your referral zippys, at least you have things moving now, which is only a small consolation i know.

Sorry about AF Lanky it is disappointing when she arrives. Big hugs and hell yeh to the wine and chocolate!

Hello to everyone else there really are too many of us to mention!

Not a lot to report in the Wannamummy corner other than I have had such sore chesticles and nipples (TMI!) since Sunday. Wearing a bra is like rubbing a bit of coarse sandpaper over them! not that i've ever done that of course, i'm guessing!

Only on CD17 so not sure what that is. Too early for AF symptoms, but after the last month, anything's possible!

Take care everyone, I'm off to stuff my face with a crunchie!

wannamummy · 19/05/2010 21:02

Oh, Junior apprentice too!!!! woo hoo!!!

PinkiePoo · 19/05/2010 21:11

Sorry for the disappearing act....kinda been lurking but also been pretty busy!!

one WAHOO!!!!! Pleased for ya....lucky lucky lady :-)

Hope everyone else is well.

Update from moi: Started SWI but not OV yet, don't feel like i am, kinda totally relaxed about it now, i will go crazy doing all this temping stuff, so trying to take docs advice and chill out!

Well we arrived back from Paris this morning, after an AWFUL night...

The day was lovely, really lovely and spending much needed time together. In the evening, we had tickets to see michael buble. Whilst i was getting drinks in, Buble walked out on stage and said 'my drummer and best friend has heart problems and can't play, so i have to cancel'....WHAT??? WTF???

couldn't believe it....AFTER ALL THAT.

Was so upset ( i even cried) we then went out and got very VERY drunk.

Buble scmoooooble......he has dropped right to the bottom of my 'allowed to have affair with' list...

Ariesgirl · 19/05/2010 21:51

Buble deserves beating up for that. Wotta twat. They must have had some kind of session drummer available. You should sue the bastard!

PinkiePoo · 19/05/2010 22:12

i know....i can't help but still want to shag the arse off him, BUT its a poor poor excuse!

I am getting refund for tickets and i am gonna write and complain as want flights reimbursed and maybe a cheeky little visit from him would be nice, prefably with him with no clothes on....and me....do you all get the fact i fancy him ALOT...

OneOf8 · 19/05/2010 22:49

Thank you Pinkie!

Yes, still sinking in - just really nervous. Had written myself off (so to speak) until next visit from AF.

Thought I would get loads of symptoms etc - but nothing. Feel like someone is playing a sick joke. Hardly slept since, so tired because of that - and this is due to head buzzing around stupid things like did I use the right stick (have ov. tests but stopped after long cycle till things settled) etc - I am a little thick so very slightly possible - except the colour and quantity are v different...

Might be a little tight of me - but have the sticks - both preg and ov going begging after mw appt June, if anyone wants to give it a go? I just want to have some sort of reassurance its all good before i let go of my saftey nets... Plenty of ov sticks (cant recall, but did only try a few times before gave up) and preg tests are going down also (like i said, having trouble trusting it) - these are now working...

Let me know, and happy to send on. Think SWI every other day/3 days did the trick for us - and this only lasted a couple of weeks as started getting the "long cycle" feelings so went back to when in the mood (or wanting my own way for something!)

CaveMum · 20/05/2010 07:06

Morning all, nothing much of interest in my world. Though I have discovered a housing development near to where we currently live that is due to be ready by early next year - when we were planning to move! I've had a look at the brochures and the houses are droolsome, and JUST within budget! I've mentioned them to DH and pointed out that moving into a brand new house would be very handy if I was (fingers crossed) pregnant by that stage. We're going to investigate further, so watch this space.

Pinkie sorry to hear your visit to Paris was not a success. I'd definitely complain, you never know what you might get in return, though a naked apology may be a little optimistic!

Oneof8 I'm guessing it is totally natural to be doubting yourself right now - I'm sure I'd be the same. Did you say it was a doctors test that gave you a +ve? Can you ask for a blood test to confirm? I think I read that a lot of GPs don't offer this anymore but it is always worth asking.

Perhaps the ladies in the graduates thread can offer more advice?

OneOf8 · 20/05/2010 07:20

It was the doctors as went there for painkillers (had an accident on sunday) - he done test before would writing a prescription as ttc on notes, and I confirmed af back in April, but did explain long cycle previous. Then GP did another as test "not 100% clear" then explained couldn't do the script because... and I've been doing tests since - all +ve.

Think I am just scared due to what I expected to feel was the classic symptoms, and all I have is cramps. This is one of the times I think it would be nice to be a bloke!

CaveMum · 20/05/2010 08:12

Oh I totally understand, I'd be exactly the same! I'm pretty sure I've read that cramps are very common in the early stages because your uterus is expanding and pushing on other organs etc. As I said before, check in on the grads thread - they've all been through what you are experiencing and can offer better advice than little ol' me

luckyseven · 20/05/2010 08:56

oneofeight just popped in for a catch up and see congrats are in order. Brilliant news. About the cramps i got them a couple of days after finding out and thought it was wierd that the only symptom i had was similar but not exactly the same as af cramps. I had af cramps two days before testing too and had thought it was game over and only tested to see if i could take cold and flu tabs for the nasty cold i got. Only other symptom was a bit of cm too. Hope this puts your mind at rest and take it easy. Hope to get to know you more on the grads thread. Ten weeks on this is still the thread i read first!

MrsWajs · 20/05/2010 16:37

Tres quiet in here this afternoon!

Sorry womanly I think I misunderstood the meaning of your message when I took you off the list, I shall re-instate you immediately!

Cavemum Very jealous of your new house plans! I have been trying to persuade DP to move house but since we only moved into this one last October he's not so keen . . . can't think why!? Sadly I forgot to tell him of my house moving obsession before we got together - poor soul!! I have good reason though I think. This house is only 2 bedrooms so our second bedroom doubles as a guest room and stepDS's room. It only struck me the other day, when visiting my friend with the new born baba, that our second room would obviously have to become the nursery and I think this would be a bit unfair on stepDS since it's been his room for the last 7 months (especially if we had a girl!). According to DP it doesn't matter as we're only going to have boys (!!) so the room will be blue anyway!

Pinkie What a bummer that your gig got cancelled!! I'd be sick!

Think I've got the list right this time?? Hopefully anyway.

Well my temps are really pissing me off this month, I did get a slight rise eventually yesterday to 36.50 but today they have gone back to 36.30 - I don't understand it at all! Can anyone shed any light? I wish I was able to post a link to my charting page but not sure I can or not??

CaveMum · 20/05/2010 17:42

MrsWajs I'm suffering from temp/charting confusion too! On Saturday my chart said I had ovulated last Thursday but today it says the information is conflicting and it can't be sure whether I have ovulated or not! I don't think it helps that I've started charting my CM too, which for the last 2 days has been very slippery (sorry if tmi) and I've been also feeling a bit frisky! So either I ovulated last week (when I had my temperature bump) or I'm about to ovulate now.
Very confusing! So glad I have a few months to try a figure things out!

haloflo · 20/05/2010 20:12

Hi all.

cavemum they say that CM is actually quite hard to indentify correctly so I decided against inputting it into FF - when you remove it I bet it moves your line back. Up to you though - you could just wait and see and complete the cycle before changing things.

mrswajs Any chance your sleep was disrupted? Earlier temp? I had a high-low-high pattern around ov day last cycle but put it down to a night of bad sleep. Hopefully all will become clear in a few days or in 2 weeks when you get your BFP.

I'm very frustated here. Sorry if TMI but i'm still spotting (cd7) - normally AF lasts 4-5 days - & this constant reminder of what happened is getting me down.

To help get back to normal I would like to start the PSF's asap. Unfortunatly we are off to a wedding this weekend (DP's family) many many miles home and we are sharing a room with his brother & his girlfriend friday & saturday night. If the spotting does ever stop then theres no chance of anything happening this weekend anyway.

I won't be on this much this weekend as i'll only be able to keep up using my phone so good luck to any testers.

haloflo · 21/05/2010 08:54

After yesterday's moan things are back to normal for me - just waiting to ov now.

Plus i'm going back on the list - under not counting days though. I determined (at the moment) to not know im pg until at least 6 weeks so hopefully the biggest risk passes me by.

lankylegs I think it is rude for folks to ask. I had my boss's wife ask me a year and a half ago and funnily enough I replied with a cheeky 'eventually' more so because we weren't trying and I had no insight into how broken I was inside...so there I was enjoying our marriage, confident that we would have a child when we were ready and so the question was deflected quite easily. Had she asked me the same q today, post inconclusive tests, ovarian drilling, pcos madness etc I would have probably have just died from having to explain to a virtual stranger something that is so private an issue. Secretly though I wish I would just slap the person who asked because there's just no excuse for such insensitivity though in reality I would perhaps continue being the woose I am.
pinkie poo Terrible shame with Buble - though I admire folks who are really committed to their work despite whatever - I tend to personally take the easy way out at the slightest emotional issues...then again, I've never had to cop out of an event that was sold out in Paris. Definitely insist for the naked apology
Cavemum Investigating the housing scene sounds like fun - best of luck.
MrsWajs Thank you for reinstating me - am terrified of updating the list on me own. Sorry - have no advice on the temping front. Have pcos and despite warnings from Attilla I went ahead on a temping mission and ended up recording weird yo-yo graphs PLUS it also messed with my equilibrium...so emotionally I was a mess. Also doing it first thing in the morning kinda put me on several 'bad' starts..and so I stopped temping since it was spooking me out. Are you charting on ff? I've read other women saying that they find that most helpful.
cavemum I did the charting for temp and cm and one day for cervical position...I found the temps and the cm didn't correlate - so hear you on it all being confusing.
halo Am sending you a hug - hope you get back to normal soon...oh wait a minute - just read your second update...yeah, you're back to normal I wish you the very very best this month.
As for me, the saga of my cycle has endeth. Yesterday evening, I noticed 2 brown spots, POAS - BFN and then went to bed. This morning I woke up and again nothing... post breakfast I went up and voila - AF is here. I am relieved it's here and DH was mighty relieved too -- didn't realize he was as stressed as me about the 'not knowing' phase.

Have updated my stats to Friday's list below. Relieved that Halo posted the list so all I need to do is change my listing.

halo I so wanted to list myself as just the name like Aly323 but need to track my days so that I at least know when to swi...since temping and cm stuff doesnt work. Also this is my first cycle post OD when I am not on Clomid....so not sure if I will ovulate. Fingers crossed though and while I know my body is broken...we're not broke...yet.

womanly I hear you on the confusion! After a few days of AF style cramps I have started seeing some blood when I go to the loo (sorry if tmi)! So if this is AF - and it is very little blood so I'm not sure if it is at the mo - then cycle 1 has lasted just 20 days! WTF is that about?!

Oh the joys!
