Hello world!

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 03/06/2010 17:23

Hi everyone I haven't been ignoring you - I've been out from dusk til dawn for the last few days and only just got back on here.

rowing I'm so sorry to hear about the BFN - is there any chance you could have tested too early or is it pretty conclusive? Sending you lots of love.

hairy OMG you have been through mill and then some. I was suprised that they wouldn't do an EPRC and went for the injection instead. I guess it's to do with possible ectopic and they probably know best (probably not definitely - this IS the NHS were talking about!) I hope you are ok. AS soon as you are allowed to SWI again - get on it and remember my list of rules . Big hugs for you. You are so much calmer and more accepting than I would have been - you should be very proud of how well you have handled everything.

rainbow Don't know anything about the Trisomy 22 thing that you mentioned. So I can't say anything of help. It does sound like the others are a bit more knowledgable (can't believe how many intellectual types there are on here - I feel soooo under qualified!) I can't see how they can make a decision about all of your eggs! Only read it very quickly but did you say you saw a junior doctor . Quick supportive hug for you my girl.

jolly so glad your trying again. You are very brave as well. Good luck with it all. By the way - I had a day at the sea-side yesterday. Had to leave the house at 6am to get there - gotta move nearer the sea!

Much love to everyone else.

So sorry to see that some of you are not having a good time at the moment.

AS for me. All ok so far. Every knicker check is fine (but it doesn't stop me looking ) Trapped wind, nausea and tiredness just like last time (plus those funny boobs). Nothing else to report for now.

hairytriangle · 03/06/2010 18:51

Hi Hippy and thank you - I've had my moments though! LOL

rowingboat · 03/06/2010 21:28

Hi all,

thank you for being kind!
I have now started bleeding, AF was due todayish so I really think that is game over.
We are away from tomorrow morning until Sunday - no internet and I'm going to postpone the blood test until Monday.

Speak soon

Oh bugger Rowing, I was hoping you might still have a chance.

You do seem very calm about it, it's great that you have a plan.

I wish I could wave a wand and we'd all have our bfp's. I suppose if it was that easy, we would never have met each other here.

Acupuncture fixed me up last night which is great.Feel so much better today which is just as well as I'm off for my girl's weekend tomorrow morning. V.exciting.I hope Charlie copes with the flying, luckily I can give him the boob to pop his ears.

Mm, that sounded a bit weird, but you know what I mean!

Double, that is sounding promising. How many dpo are you? Some late implanters don't show on preg tests til later...

Diege · 04/06/2010 08:34

Morning . Rowing I'm so sorry I too had started to think it was not necessarily bad news, I suppose based on how I feel for the day or so after a bfn myself.I think I would postpone blood test until after you get back. Lots of hugs xx
Hippy good to hear from you and glad that you have nice, reassuring symptoms too.
Gumblossom enjoy your weekend away and hopeflight goes ok -knew what you meant straight away re: giving the boob
Double one of my first symptoms with my pregnancies has been being freezing cold when others are sweating. have everything crossed for you...I think you have kick-started my psychic feelings there...
Big wave to everyone esle. CD 13 here - did the deed last night but even though I have all the signs of ovulation (pain one side, lots of EWM) I'm still not getting a pos on the opk . SWI every other day anyway though, so can't do more than that! Off on a rare night out tonight with friends, so fits in quite well (I did, sadly, plan my limited social life around SWI ). Have all 4 at home today (rare) so can hopefully het through relatively painlessly till 5 when I catch my train.

hippychick66 · 04/06/2010 10:06

gum will you be offering that service to everyone on the plane who has a problem with their ears??? Even that business man in the front row who seems to be in pain .

rowing I really am so sorry. It must be so frustrating - it's like when italian's treatment didn't work. You just think, "How come everything was there in place and yet the embies didn't stay?" It is such a fragile thing isn't it? There is nothing i can say, except that we all feel for you. Also agree that it does sound like you are taking it very well and am glad that you have a plan for what to do next in your busy summer of TTCing.

diege You are funny. So your spider senses are tingling again - good news. ALso re: the OPK's - don't get too caught up on them (you know the surge can be brief). You are getting all the right signs from your body and doing the right thing (every 2 days)so try not to stress about a positive OPK.

Is hubbie enjoying the gourmet sex and commenting on how much he feels he is drawing deep on his reserves??? Sorry just had to get that comment in again.

I will be 5 weeks on Sunday - just the 35ish to go then Hippy!!!!! Every wipe is scary, but good as long as I don't see anything awful IYSWIM - sorry TMI.

I'm actually feeling guilty now about being preg when some of you aren't - I am the most neurotic woman in the world!!!!!

hippychick66 · 04/06/2010 10:11

Forgot to say diege. It's worth keep going with the every other day even after you THINK you might have ov'd. I kept going until my temp went up but I don't think you are that obsessive thorough!

hippychick66 · 04/06/2010 10:12

I mean thorough as in taking your temp and charting - i'm sure you are thorough at the sex bit .

Diege · 04/06/2010 10:38

Hippy you've got me spluttering coffee all over the keyboard there. I think I have found kindred sprit re: dirtymindedness Great advice as always - never actually got a pos opk ever, other than faint line which I know is neg, and as I've been pregnant 5 times I sort of know rationally it's not that a reliable sign to go by. You know, I do think about that 'draw deep' thing, and even gave dh an extra 5 mins to 'get going' last night (and had BGT results show in in background, on mute, natch).

Diege · 04/06/2010 13:50

While I remember, think someone was mentioning caffeine intake while ttc-ing? (was it you Gum?) This is something I try to keep an eye on, but not sure if it's a biggy or not re: chances of conceiving. I remember with my mmc that I was actually having up to 12 cups of coffee a day, well over the recommended, but don't really think it was a factor as I never went off coffee at all in that pregnancy, which is odd for me, so I suppose a sign that things weren't going to work out (along with no sickness at all, again I usually get HG) Having said that, Marilyn Glenville, whose book I found very helpful after my mmc, does advise cutting out all caffeine while ttc-ing. So,as a sort of compromise I have caf T, then caf coffee first thing, then rest of the day decaff versions. I have also swopped to decaff diet coke but I know that diet drinks, esp cola, aren't great health-wise...interested to hear if anyone else has a similar obsession?

Italiangreyhound · 04/06/2010 14:10

Hippy Congratulations, may it all go well. I am so pleased for you.

Rowing I am so sorry I had really hoped this would work for you.

No real news for us, just pobling along.

Just out of interest what are your least favourite ways of receiving the news that a friend is pregnant? Or are you always very genuinely happy for people who are expecting? I am always happy for others when their plans come together (a bit like Face from the A-team!) but sometimes it does just rub salt in the wound.

Got a message recently where a friend had tried to get hold of me for days/weeks by phone so she could tell me the news first, prior to telling our other mutual friends. I had wondered why she kept calling and not leaving an actual message!

I must admit it made me feel rather bad, we chatted about my failed fertility treatment and our adoption desires and then she dropped her news (which I already suspected as I knew she was trying). It is weird, I know she really wanted to break it to me gently and be nice but being singled out as a special case needing to be told first just made me feel bad! Are I mean or what!

doubleshotlatte · 04/06/2010 15:56

Hippy let's hope I won't need your advice this next cycle...

Diege talking of caffeine intake, you'll not find anyone more obsessed than me as you can probably tell from my chosen name. Going off coffee is my big "sign" (...and I can barely stand my diluted instant sachet right now....hoorayyyy!!!!) but I'm guilty of at least 5 x bean-to-cup-doses daily all through TTC and I don't believe it er... interferes with the process. If anything, I found it makes us um, friskier,

Italian I've had to cope with several close friends (all mid-30s) having their 2nd sprog in quick succession recently. Big shock yesterday when childhood friend (who I didnt know was pregnant) emailed photo of newborn DS, her 2nd

Lots of signs here, but I'm not getting my hopes up. As of now am convinced its just delayed anti-depressant withdrawal (I stopped cold turkey when GP said could harm baby)

Testing tomorrow, or Sunday, since Af arrives dot on time on CD01 if at all...

Diege · 04/06/2010 16:03

ooh Doubleshot that does sound very positive symptoms-wise, have everything crossed for you! Would it be first thing tomorow you tested?
Italian I can imagine how you must feel about your friend's news, although I have to say I've been that friend too and it's tough being there...not as tough though as being in your position though I'll admit. And no, you're not mean, just human

doubleshotlatte · 04/06/2010 16:03

Here's some more (unwanted) SWI advice ... ...

Do it in the mornings when the troops are all rested and er... fresh... ... (and this from a diehard nightbird like me )

Worked for me last two times. Will let you know if it worked this time ...

x

Diege · 04/06/2010 16:06

Oh no,not first thing, couldn't stomach it...all that morning breath (dh) Happy to live vicariously through you though latte

hairytriangle · 04/06/2010 19:09

Rowing so sorry sending lots of love. x

gonepearshaped · 04/06/2010 20:13

Oooh it is busy on here... not really sure what I've been up to but seem not to have had a spare minute.

Rowing I'm so sorry about the BFN, big hugs to you. Hope you haven't got a too demanding weekend ahead.

Hairy I can't believe you are still going through it, you've been so patient. Hope the injection finally sorts things out for you.

Hippie Lovely news, well done!

I finally got to the GP to ask for tests. She was very nice and set me up for every blood test going. I had those on day 10 (seemed a bit late to me but I don't know). Then we do them again on day 20 something to check if I OVd. If nothing obvious wrong with me then she'll start on DP .

gumblossom · 05/06/2010 00:14

Quick note before I fly off, about the caffiene, actually I don't think I have too much, at least it is no more than when I was ttc ds, and we eventually hit the jackpot there (after 7 months of ttc, at age 41).
As for the blokes, my DH had a vasectomy reversal, and one of the tricks I heard about, to get a good sperm count when doing a sample, was to have a really strong coffee or energy drink beforehand to boost numbers. So I guess that would also work for ttc. Having said that, I never bothered!

Double, your symptoms sound VERY promising! And as for the morning thing - that's about the only time I have the energy!

Right, plane to catch, seeyou Tuesday!

Diege · 05/06/2010 09:27

Morning! Enjoy your trip Gum! Gonepearshaped that does sound good about the tests; a GP that sounds good too, rare when it comes to ttc issues I think!
You know I still haven;tgot a pos on my opk and I'm sure I've ovulated.I'm cd 14 now,and ewm gone (sure cd 12 was the day, but the stick said 'No!) Not holding too much weight on them, and still on my every other night regime which I guess wouldn't differ even if I had the pos. Have the dreaded much promised Build a Bear visit today, with dds own money(ok, so I know I'll end up making the difference up to the tune of at least £30)but they are very excited.
Hope everyone has a good weekend x

Italiangreyhound · 05/06/2010 10:17

Hi all

I heard caffeine was not good, but not sure why. I think just a bit of caffeine is OK. But then alcohol and cigs are the really bad ones!

Hairy I hope all is OK; you seem to have had a terrible time of it. Thinking of you.

Diege you can clean your teeth before morning sex, you don't have to literally do it when you wake up! Zita West says the strongest troops are when ?HE? wants to do it, so it is not so much are you a morning person but is DH/DP a morning person!

Thinking of you doubleshotlatte. Hippy* I hope you are resting and not overdoing it. At least you can leave sex off the busy schedule for a while! How are the moving to the seaside plans coming along? Or am I getting confused was it someone else who wanted to move to the seaside?

Rowing do you still have more frozen embies you could try again or are you feeling very bruised still by the whole process. I am so sorry for you. There aren?t really any words.

Liahen66 hi, how?s it going?

LindaLinda thanks for emailing me, are you still lurking on here. How?s it going? Have you definitely given up TTC or have you given up giving up (I know I am tempted to try again but not sure why). Were you giving up TTC, or am I getting confused?

Gum Any news on your sister or have I missed that? Hope you enjoyed your trip.

Hello, to any others I have not met yet. I am meant to be preparing for adoption but I can't stop thinking about fertility! My adorable sis is expecting and I am so happy for her, but I just wish we could be pregnant together! I just keep thinking what should I try next, anything. My periods are terrible and my poor DH gets the flack from me every month so I am taking Angus Castus, buying it today. Maybe that will produce something. I wonder what shape my eggs are in! Let's hope there is one good 'un left or that I can finally say goodbye to TTC!!!

Love to all

hairytriangle · 05/06/2010 11:22

Thanks all of you (too many of you to mention individually!) for your lovely supprotive messges!

I'm doing fne, just had four day bloods but won't know result til monday. Would be so great if HSG has gone down. Am sure the bleeding is actually the cyst, but hospital says it's nothing to worry about unless I start collapsing again!

On Caffeine, I am reading a really excellent book about diet and fitness etc for conception - and I'm glad to say I eat most of what is recommended and avoid most of what is not - I gave up caffeine about ten years ago (had a two week headache).

The book I'm reading - 'Fit for Fertility' - was given to me by my sis (who is 12 weeks pg ) and it was given to her by a friend who has a six month old.

It definately recommends giving up caffeine, as it can impede the process, apparently.

Diege · 05/06/2010 12:26

That's interesting Hairy about the caffeine and ttc-ing. I've read something similiar by Marilyn Glenville and did give up after mmc(like Greyhound had a horrendous headache). Like everything though, bad habits can creep back! Good luck with your results x
Italian,dh not esp a morning person, though any chance of sex and he's a morning, night, any time person . Would have to be literally first thing for us, as as soon as one of us gets up that's it, whole house awake

randomimposter · 05/06/2010 13:07

Sorry Rowing that's shit.

Lovely to see Hippy still hanging around.

Sorry have been AWOL as busy and no laptop available.

Must be quick as need to get DS lunch ready as he's (unusually) asleep and will be starving when he wakes up.

Love to all - will post more later
xx

hairytriangle · 05/06/2010 21:08

Hi Jollster

cocking cocks, here i go again, HEAVY bleeding and pain, and bloated stomach, so phoned out of hours and a gynae is going to ring me. At least I'll be seen at a nearer hospital.

Interesting that doc on phone said ovarian cyst does not cause vaginal bleeding, but bleeds into the abdomen - so I dunno wtf is going on
.

sorry for rambling post but had to rant!

KiwiKat · 05/06/2010 21:34

Rowing, so sorry to hear your news. x
