Hello world!

OP posts:
Conundrumish · 13/05/2010 20:56

Hello, new to this thread. We are ttc against the odds as I am nearly 45 - very depressing to read further up that someone's Dr had said a clinic would only consider ovum donation at that age.

Any other real old people on here?

florencerusty · 13/05/2010 21:03

Hi knock knock

Can I come in please

41 and trying for no5 (maybe no7 if you count sc)

Pollyanna · 13/05/2010 21:05

hello all - haven't been on for a while as I discovered my mum has been reading all of my posts - including stuff about her.

I am not changing my name for the time being though - if she wants to find out what I think that's her look out.

anyway, congrats to rainbowdays.

No swi here - cystitis attack and business trip put a stop to any action. Looks like I'll hit my 40th un-pregnant (if that is a word!). still going on with the acupuncture.

hairytriangle · 13/05/2010 22:10

Gah, how awful for you Polyanna x

gumblossom · 14/05/2010 00:32

Oh My Goodness, such a lot going on. Hairy I can't imagine what you are going through, hoping for a great outcome.

Rainbow - I'm just whispering a very small congrats and hopes for a sticky bean.

Well, my toe is on the mend, but still very sore.I'll be glad when my Dh gets home tonight. Also need him to get home to DTD (do the deed) as I think I...might... have...a ...+ opk! Woohoo, this will be the first time since falling preg with DS 20 months old. I have two lines the same colour. Yay, but still feel unsure of whether it is true.I'll check again later today, hoping I won't miss a chance, if indeed it really is.

Pollyanna, that doesn't sound good. It's funny, just last week, my sister and two close friends all had UTI's. Both my friends had no idea that cranberries helped or that peeing after sex was a good idea. One of them is ttc, and I said, "oh I suppose you won't want to do that if you are ttc", and she didn't know what I was talking about(you know, bum on pillow for at least 20 mins). She's been ttc for a long time, maybe that'll help! Of course millions have gotten pregnant from a quicky standing up in an alleyway...

Right, got to run, have to dress DS2's wound - 7 stitches! Nothing too bad - he had a birthmark removed.

Keep up the good works!

rainbowdays · 14/05/2010 07:12

pinkpaneltone - hi, there are some other older ladies here, I think the oldest we have is 47, but I am willing to be corrected on that one. I am a youngester at only 42!

florencerusty - hi and welcome in! There are a couple of folks on here trying for no.4, and I think one other for there no.5. Most here are trying for no.1 or 2. But I have found that all are welcome. Just out of curiosity was is "sc" that you were counting?

Pollyanna - sorry to hear that your mum has been invading your privacy.

gum - good to hear you got a good +opk, hope dh is co-operative!

OK what is it with af arriving early. My af is not due til tomorrow, but straight after posting here about my positive test, I started bleeding. Last night I had horrendous cramps too. I have been getting faint positive tests for 4 days in a row, so I know that that is not a good sign, todays test should have been at least a little darker on the IC test. The first response test yesterday was faint but clear. Oh why can't things be simple?

hairytriangle · 14/05/2010 07:55

rainbowdays so sorry to hear that you started a bleed and have confusing readings Big Hug to you x

hairytriangle · 14/05/2010 07:56

Welcome florence

florencerusty · 14/05/2010 10:38

Well to explain I have DD 24, DD 21, SD (stepdaughter) 20, SS 18, DS born sleeping 3/2007 and DD 21 Months

rainbowdays · 14/05/2010 10:47

Florencerusty - Ah, got it, sc is for step-children, sorry just me being dence!

Conundrumish · 14/05/2010 11:23

Thanks Rainbow and sorry to hear you are having complications.

Diege · 14/05/2010 12:18

Afternoon Oh Rainbow sorry to hear that things aren't looking too good for you. You must be very disappointed, depsite sort of havinbg prepared yourself for a cautious approach xx
Hello pink and florence. I'm ttc number 5, second month trying, so good to see I'm not alone! I think there's at least 1 other person too ttc number 5, and a few no.6 ?? Or makbe I'm just making that up?
Pollyanna bad luck on the cystitus/work getting in the way. I think our birthdays are very close aren't they? This is my last shot at ttc-ing with 39 year old eggs too!Right, better go and see to ds - he's gone very quiet which is always an ominous sign.

hippychick66 · 14/05/2010 13:01

Welcome all newbies.

polly can not believe that your mum has been reading your stuff - how nosey. My mum is 78 and such a technophobe i am 100% sure she will NEVER read Mumsnet!! lol at the very thought of her trying.

I got a positive on an opk yesterday (not just an internet cheapie but a digital smiley one). So looks like rainbow was right about the pains coming before the actual ovulation. This means diege that i am ..... you guessed it.... going to be a sex siren again tonight!!

rainbow I'm sorry to hear you're bleeding - do you think this is a chemical pregnancy then?? I am a bit confused about what counts as one of those. Let us know how you're doing.

curly how is the facial numbness???

I have a friend at work in RL who is 43 and ttc. She is currently doing 'it' twice a day!! I've told her that that is not necessary and explained that her poor old hubbie wont have a chance to make more troops but she wont listen - we'll see how she does.

liaghen Did you see the thread we were watching. The other twin also died - so incredibly sad.

Love to all our preggy ladies ILGH, TFLS and Kiwi - and of course me old mate alba

Diege · 14/05/2010 13:09

Hey Hippy I am also sex sirening tonight, based entirely on what Rainbow said about ovulation. And then that's it, absolutely no more sex for at least 4-5 days (respectable wait for dh I think ).

Curlylox · 14/05/2010 13:31

Tingly, numbness had gone when I wole up next morning. Dr gave me a thorough check, all seems ok although she was a "little stumped" (her words) and the only explanation she could offer was a trapped nerve. Blood pressure a little high (not high enough to treat) but wants me to come back in a month after taking weekly readings, benchmark 140/80. Personally I think I'm stressed, just want a BFP before it's too late!!!! Am now focusing my attention on perhaps getting a puppy, nuts arent I?
Thank you for your diagnosis, which Diege was spot on.
Welcome pink florence and polly. Will scroll back and see what's been going on, laters

rowingboat · 14/05/2010 13:57

Hi all,

Curly that's a pity the GP doesn't know what it was, but good that it has gone. Could it have been tension, kind of clenching the jaw? My dentist told me I have been grinding my teeth at night, at which I was surprised, but she went on to say it was quite common with parents.

Deige and Hippy knock yourselves out tonight then crack open the cream eggs (yum, much nicer)

PinkP I'm sure I remember your name from this thead, did you pop in ages ago? Perhaps it was a completely different thread, just quite a memorable name. Welcome!

Hairy hope things become clearer soon and this is all resolved so you can move on.

Rainbow, the bleeding must be confusing. It is quite common in early pregnancy though. It does sound a bit like a CP (having had one before) which is very hard on you, the being up and down and confused.
Fingers crossed the positive become stronger.

Florence welcome and good luck TTC no7/5. Do you still have any of the older children at home?

Gum I'm glad the gallstone thing is polyps. Is that more manageable? You sound like you are all sitting around in bandages at your house.
Oh and fab news on the positive OPK. Woohoo, Mrs Fertile gets her mojo back, do you think???

This stupid cold thing is going on, but I'm not going to let it stop me.
My dad has been admitted to hospital to be rehydrated. He has underlying health problems and his consultant was concerned that he hadn't been eating or drinking properly or taken his medication so he's gone in to be 'topped up' I think.
Hopefully he will be out soon, he isn't in bad shape overall

randomimposter · 14/05/2010 15:24

gosh it's a busy old thread at the mo, and so much more cheeky than it used to be (I'm blaming Hippy...)
welcome to the newbies...

sorry you've got that isitisn'tit thing rainbow
polly how cheeky is your mum??!! Mind you you've only ever said how lovely she is on here...

Wonders if it's worth resurrecting a list as we've lots of newcomers?

Jollster 42 (DS 2 this month), 2 MMCs (August09/March10), currently waiting to TTC on acupuncturist advice.

Hope all well - lovely and sunny today. x

hippychick66 · 14/05/2010 15:41

Moi?? What did I do ?

So that's Gum, Diege and me all at it tonight - we must try not to think about each other when we're doing it!

Oh, I see what you mean about me jolly.

randomimposter · 14/05/2010 15:53

heave...bonk

florencerusty · 14/05/2010 16:26

Day 14 of second clomid cycle - there will be no snoring excuses tonight!

Diege · 14/05/2010 16:36

And Florence too makes four( or is that 5 with Rowing too, cold and all?) of us at it . I'll take the early slot if that's ok? - 8pm-9m (ok,8-8.15 )
Curly good that you've spoken to GP about the tingling, and all well. If it was any suspicious I'm sure it wouldn't have disappeared like that. I am sadly pleased that they agreed with my diagnosois(had similar success with dh's 'geographic tongue') Right, better go, 5 LOs in the house and asking for pizza!

ghenghismaam · 14/05/2010 18:47

Hi All - completely gutted here as we lost our school appeal but on the up side seems like my aged body (46) creaks on and today day 13 I have copious EWCM (TMI!)- no bloody OPKs, should I join in the virtual SWIing - or leave it another month after MC....am going to have a few to drink anyway to cheer my self up - am having a 'Jamie at Home' party this evening.
Maybe a morning one will do...
Will catch up properly tomorrow x

Diege · 14/05/2010 19:17

Oh no Genghis about the appeal - have they given you any hope at all, or is that it? Good on EWM though, plusI read somewhere that swimmers are better at 'swimming' in the morning ; there's room for another one in the virtual SWIing tonight though

Conundrumish · 14/05/2010 19:43

'PinkP I'm sure I remember your name from this thead, did you pop in ages ago? Perhaps it was a completely different thread, just quite a memorable name. Welcome!' oh gosh, I may have done one of the symptoms of being nearly 45 is that I am totally forgetful

rainbowdays · 14/05/2010 20:26

I needed to do something to keep myself occupied today, to take my mind off things. So I found an old from a couple of months back and I have updated it as best I can, please feel free to correct errors!!!!
