So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

xx

Pokes head round door and slides a big chilled glass of Oyster Bay over to Jolls. Good luck with the house poppet. And you just get yourself all match fit, then score a blinder! We'll all cheer for you like loonies!

Urd lovely to see you back.

Have to admit, even lurking I'm checking symptoms for Viv. Surely she'll have tinterboogle in the states to update us?

Loving wascally wabbits and beanbag cats. My old black puddy was called Ghost. He sounded more like a clumsy poltergeist though

A big rousing cheer to everyone at the bottom of the list. Ladies, may this be the start of another lucky month. Go forth and be fabulous!

LadyBee · 28/04/2010 22:04

Look how short the list is getting! Some of us 'waiters' need to hop back up the screen huh?

Still feeling a bit achey, twingey on the lower right side. Am having a real battle with myself - I suspect I might be ovulating or close to. I want to use the opportunity to try to get pregnant again, but haven't had that follow-up appointment with my GP yet, and just don't think I'm in the right place to cope with a BFN if I do try.

Please remind me that waiting for a proper period is not a big deal in the general scheme of things?

Monring all, interview went well yesterday morning! What a charming man he was he's clearly made for TV and certainly a job I'd like to have despite the huge challenge! Should know early next week..

I have updated the list for today, apologies if I've missed anyone off. Have a good day all.

I know what you mean LadyBee. I have RTD again and I keep thinking "couldn't I try after this? Do I really have to wait for another one?" But we must stay strong.

Big waves to everyone else. Hope you're feeling positive still lindalinda.

PrettyVacant1 · 29/04/2010 09:02

Morning 'heverybodypeeps.

Linda I'll feel your head for £50!
My Mother used to say I have magic hands and used to get me to tickle and massage her feet.

I looked at a Cranio-sacral therapy on the interweb,it looks very calming and relaxing.
I had Crystal Healing done a few months ago at a charity spa day I was helping at.
It wasn't something I'd have normally gone for,but I'll try anything once (twice if I like it )
I felt quite bizzare afterwards, bit floaty.
There are no hard and fast rules, do whatever you need to and makes you feel positive.
And yes, be nicer to yourself.

Jolls being in reserve is not such a bad thing, the team needs us to keep up the pace.
As Gi1da said we'll score soon enough!

Blimey, for one reason or another I've not been actively trying since I joined this thread and it only occurred to me the other day that my ramblings are mostly non TTC nonsense about craptops, fish, cactus',MrG,cats and work!
Sorry bout that

I like to think that I'm the one on the bench with the chocolate sponge and wine energy drink cheering you all on.

Bloody hell, enough with the footy analogies.
MrG would be proud, as he always says "It always comes down to football."

Glad to hear the interview went well LittleMiss
T.V ?
Are you famoose? Do you wear sunglasses indoors?

Hi Muse Nearly there, it'll be worth the wait when we get our model baybee that sleeps, smiles and never cries.
We have to get one of those, it's the rules.

Manic waves to all and hope Thurs flies so then it's Fri then Bank Holi-day weekend woo-hoo!

Curlylox · 29/04/2010 10:02

Morning all, I've made a vow to post more often and to try and keep up. Thank you Cheepz for your kind words, did have a chat with the Dr and she said it's nothing to worry about (having another af 17 days after the last af). So think my stats sould be changed on list please to Curlylox TTC#3 UCL28 cycle 3 CD7
I'm trying not to feel too desparate about ttc, just feel that I'm running out of time as will be 43 next month and wondering will it ever happen. To be honest got a BFP after a month of trying but had mc, it's strange how things work out as with DD it took 11 months for a BFP and I was 6 years younger. Have a ton of things to do today, housework, paperwork etc but can I be arsed???......NO So I'll be popping on as I have regular tea breaks

Redheadgal · 29/04/2010 11:25

Gosh! gone for a couple of days and yet more BFPs! It must be infectious - bloody well hope it is. Good on yer girls.

Still no sign of the RTD. Grrr. Now 5 weeks post ERPC. I know it's still early days, but I bet I won't see it before 10 weeks. Anyone care for a wager? Am pretty sure I'm not ovulating, so I'm just hanging around, waiting and waiting and practising

Got horrendously drunk at home with dh last night . We sat for hours talking about conceiving and how it might still work with our jobs if we re-jig things. Unfortunately going off on maternity leave in October would have been by far the best thing . Anyway plenty of brie and smelly gorgonzola and wine (red and white) was had and the world put to rights .

Curlylox · 29/04/2010 11:49

Mmm me thinks I might take a leaf out of Redheadgal book.....get drunk or even tipsy, to be honest tipsy is as far as I go (that's why friends have labelled me "soupdrinker")

digitalgirl · 29/04/2010 12:21

ladybee have one of these , seeing as I'm off them. Should distract you enough.

Day 3 of no biccies. Have had weird headaches on and off this week. Then this morning woke up with really achey legs. Is this my body de-toxing? Who'd have thought I'd become so dependent on big sugar rushes all day long.

Have also started the very expensive Pregnacare tables (or snake oil as my DH calls them). Am convinced they are responsible for my luminous yellow-green wee.
Anyone else taking these?

Curlylox · 29/04/2010 12:28

Yes I am and yes they do turn wee luminous

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 29/04/2010 12:55

Pooh day today, waters broke a year ago tonight and I am already reliving that unpleasant memory over and over and over in my head, so fricking glad The Apprentice isn't on this year.....anyway am trying very hard not to wallow, think I might go hoover

Forgive me being a grump and for not name checking....

Just changing my name on the list.

Hi all

Fingers crossed for viv and lucy! clare yay for RTD! Thankyou for the advice, just got my agnus castus but am putting off going to doc's to get metformin because I am convinced she'll fob me off. Am just waiting for RTD (or maybe, just maybe EWCM). It has been almost two months now, I think.

Just had a call from the community midwife to arrange my booking in.

me: I thought this had been cancelled

mw: oh oh I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry

me: ok

mw: they shouldn't have passed the letter on. I'm really sorry. Goodbye.

me: bye

I mean ffs, a call at work to remind me.

LadyBee · 29/04/2010 15:58

linda metformin is actually a drug usually prescribed to people with late-onset diabetes (sometimes called Glucophage?). It makes the body more sensitive to insulin. For some reason it can also make menstrual cycles more regular and trigger ovulation. If your cycles are usually regular and you're pretty sure your ovulating than there's not much point in investigating it. If you're not sure then ask your GP for blood tests to check, but I imagine it would need to be assessed in conjunction with your other diabetes control routines!

digitalgirl. That's tough. Even with all the apologies in the world, that just shouldn't happen.

Margie32 · 29/04/2010 16:57

Digitalgirl I feel so bad for you, a similar thing happened to us. 3 weeks after my MC they sent me a friendly text message reminding me that my next scan was the following Tuesday.

Surely it isn't that difficult to update computer records and avoid making such right royal cock-ups?

digitalgirl that is horrible. Hope you are feeling ok now. The delivery suite called me to arrange my induction of DD2 in September even though I had her in May in that same delivery suite. Thankfully I was reassured in Jan after 2ndmc that their system had changed and I would not get any reminders.

I still got crap from bounty/pampers despite updating my records too. Need that mag telling your about your 6 month olds development like a bullet in the head. I did read on another thread actually that there is a website that will cancel everything for you........

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 29/04/2010 17:59

and OMG lindalinda! Unbelievable!

WestYorkshireGirl · 29/04/2010 18:02

Digitalgirl Hope you are feeling better after than crap phone call? curly What's good about the Pregnacare tablets then?

ladybee I waited a month before trying again and although it felt like 5 wasted weeks, I don't think I would have been ready before that. I think you are doing the right thing.

Magic8 I'm sorry but I don't know your story, but it sounds like a difficult day for you. I hope you got through it OK?

I am off to see the exhibition tomorrow and do the launch thing - typical that the weather will be crap in the North East!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 29/04/2010 18:14

in a nutshell bled from 10 weeks, told placenta praevia waters broke 17weeks (a year today) and bleeding continued/got worse, DD2 hung in there until 21 weeks but I developed a wapping infection, gave birth to a blood clot bigger than dd2 and almost bled to death shortly before she was born. Had a retroplacental bleed - no idea why. Bad luck.

Day has been ok, busied myself with work stuff though. Just in the back of my mind like it happened yesterday! I am just about to open a bottle of white - anyone for a glass?

WYG Have fun at the exhibition - I had a look at those links The fairy scared me a little I have to say!

Moofold · 29/04/2010 19:09

8s as I said to you earlier on facebook you're being amazingly strong holding it together today. Such a sad story and can't imagine how hard it was, and is, for you. Wine sounds good...

Fucking hell, those NHS stories are atrocious, what an absolute disgrace. Shoddy administration is bad enough but such a callous approach is unforgiveable. I wonder if these nurses see MC so regularly that they become a bit desensitised to the horror. They obviously don't realise how devastating it is. Grrr!

clareanna · 29/04/2010 19:13

Funny ds story:

my ma had ds today (he's nearly 3) and said to me:
"he's so intelligent- he asked me about flora and fauna so we spent all afternoon discussing the difference and looking at plants in the garden"

when do I tell her what he actually said was "dora the explorer?!"
