So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to kickstart the new thread. As the title suggests, this is a wonderful home full of the bravest, funniest and most inspirational women on Mumsnet, who are always ready to lend an ear and a virtual glass of wine.

The new thread is kicked off with 3 bfps in 3 days, so here's to more love and luck along the way

xx

Laydeeez

Many congrats Margie! Lovely to see the grads list growing!!

Digitalgirl try not to feel too down, great they will scan you at 6 weeks. x

Big hugs redheadgal It gets you like that some days.....I just had some prospective parents pop round about childminding and as always I get the question "do you think you will have another one"..............I'm not sure how I held it together today........Fingers crossed it was PMT for you.

Cheepz you put it in a nutshell. You are strong lady not to get sucked in, so hard not to get obsessive.

lindalinda I know that feeling when the person looking back at you is not you. You will find her again I promise, time heals, just have to take each day x

Viv is he back in the box? Hope your day was ok hun.

Big wave to everyone else!!!!!!!!

littlemiss72 · 26/04/2010 18:53

Yay margie congrats woman! Lovely to see so many getting BFP

ViV I do hope you nailed that box down hunni, it's the only way.

linda please don't be so hard on yourself, we have all had similar experiences here so feel free to share your thoughts. Things do get better I promise you and listen to our dear wise one cheepz she's made of strong stuff bless her!

Hi to everyone else, Monday box ticked although I'm not sure what I achieved to be honest. Home alone for a couple of nights, DP living it up working in Monaco.

I shall have a glass of red and a nice soak in peace tonight and watch all the soaps woohoo.

Love to all x x x

PrettyVacant1 · 26/04/2010 19:22

Bugger.
Craptop is officially fooked.
MrG has just strolled in with wine and yummy dinner and asked if he could use it.
It went poof and will not be unpoofed.
Oooops and I'm back to the iPod.
He's now swearing at it and trying to make it work again with a magic disk.

Hope everyone had a lovely day.

Did manage to catch margie's BFP before the poof.
Yeah!

Squeeezes to digi, linda and red
Big badge and tin foil crown for cheepz for being so clever and supportive and just plain lovely.

I had a wobble too last night.
We had dinner with FIL, his partner and family friends.
FIL's partner who is completely tactless isn't really diplomatic blurted out that friends had news!
My heart sank.
They are lovely people and their DD's are lovely too.
I was very happy for them as it was obvious that they were proud GP to be.
I smiled politely, said ahhh and oooo in the right places,
I was doing very well.
Fil's DP then suggested they show us the picture,
"ahh go on it's lovely" etc,etc

Nope.

Never gonna happen.

Mr.G quickly said no thanks and hurriedly stopped lovely pictures being produced.

I sat there still smiling politely until the conversation ended, excused myself, went home (we live next door) hyperventilated for a bit had a cigarette and went back in to finish dinner.

I was a leetle bit drunk so that probably didn't help.

I don't expect people to tippy toe around me but ffs,

Moofold · 26/04/2010 19:46

Bloody hell, its all go with the BFPs. Great news Sparkly and Margie, well done girls!

Sorry to hear so many of you are having a shitty time, take care of yourselves.

MrsG I can't understand the logic sometimes - my mother being the worst cuplrit. I don't know if she thinks I am wallowing and should be over it - or if she thinks she is helping in some warped way. She hasn't taken the hint that I don't want to phone calls JUST to tell me who else has had a baby or is pregnant. I don't want to coo over pics of other peoples' babies. Good for Mr G stepping in and taking control of that situation

BunnyBaby · 26/04/2010 19:53

Margie well done you!

Pretty That is really crapsville, especially as I assume FIL partner (should we call her FIM as in foot-in-mouth) knew what a rough time you're having? You did well to contain yourself, I may have exploded.

DH is picking one of our wascally wabits up from vets. The side fell of the run that separates them and they had a dust up, requiring Magic to have surgery on her tail. Anyway, she's fine despite reacting badly to anaesthetic and stopping breathing. Will be very pleased to give her a gentle cuddle tonight.

Will definitely look into rocket science monitors next month if RTD does not show. Nothing yet, so will hold out a few more days before I test xxx

WestYorkshireGirl · 26/04/2010 20:24

sparkly & margie Huge congrats on your BFPs! It's great to see so many lately.
Cheepz sorry no news for you, but your positivism is still going strong I see.
pretty enjoy your week off.
Viv Hope your meeting went well with the box man.
digitalgirl Sorry you are feeling a bit flat after your scan, but at least you have some info now - I always feel better armed with info.

Hello everyone else.

I have nothing of any interest to report, really! Been to work, had some good results on my performance, spent all day typing up my Professional Development Review and came home. But was excited to open the Metro on the train and see the exhibition I have been working on for the last 2 years and which opens on Fri on p3! It cheered me up whilst being squashed like a sardine!

VivClicquot · 26/04/2010 20:53

The meeting went well actually - rather than try and rake over shitty ground and point out what a knobhead he is, I breezed in full of optimism about how we can make things better this time... if we do it MY way.

However, my day took a turn for the worse when I got home and discovered that our kitchen sink had sprung a massive leak and everywhere was flooded. Between you and I, I blame my dad as he came round last week to pressure wash our patio and had been fiddling with the tap... But I feel mean if I phone him up and accuse him of doing it!

Is there a snorkel smiley?

Anyway, big congrats margie - am loving the spring run of luck.

Cheepz - you're one hell of a woman, you know. You're a total inspiration x

PrettyMrsG - hope you're enjoying your week off. You deserve it.

digitalgirl - chin up missus. Like WYG says, at least you have more info now.

Off to watch Glee. Or Flash Forward. Or The Pacific. Decisions decisions.

clareanna · 26/04/2010 20:53

evening all!
Big congrats to Margie! understand you must be feeling scared - I recommend cheepz's excellent advice to get as much antenatal support as your need to help you x

bunny fingers crossed for you

linda I went on mad clothes buying spree too - it may be shallow but there's nothing like a new handbag for a bit of false confidence when you're feeling fragile
Also recommend the Clear Blue Monitor, expensive, but tells you exactly what you need to know....

viv how did meeting go? hope you gave excellent constructive feedback and your colleague has scuttled away to hide in a box rather than you having to put him back in one?!

MrsP big cheers to MrG for looking out for you. you're so brave and positive that sometimes I think people just take it for granted. I have just returned from a punch class - I highly recommend it as a stress reliever!

WYG well done on your review - got mine tomorrow - argh!

As for me, ttc break is actually quite nice, feel I've got more head space for getting my life/work back on track. Have been exercising and watching what I eat (4lbs off in first week)woo hoo!
big waves to everyone else!

BUnderTheBonnet · 26/04/2010 20:58

Congrats Margie!

Well it looks like I didn't ovulate when I thought I did a few days ago. Must have been some rogue wee . Looks like my wtf cycle looks set to be an exasperating one.

LadyBee · 26/04/2010 20:58

yay! more BFPs! congrats Margie

Just a quick one from me, back at work after the holiday today and a mountain of email to sift through still. I have so little motivation at work at the moment, but can't remember whether I was like this before pregnancy & mc or not.

Am being grumpy neighbour at the moment. Grumble grumble damn kids and their grumble grumble damn footballs. grumble.

time for tea. and a Glee. god I wish we had gin in the house.

PrettyVacant1 · 26/04/2010 21:16

Oooo, sounds in-ter-es-ting WYG.
Can we see? Say a link or something could appear?
I can't do it as I'm still on stoopid iPod as MrG has now given up on craptop.

I can't really tell be rude to her Moo as she's bi polar, she has no DC and lives in a world of her own wrapped in cotton wool.
I have no relationship with my own mother so she tries to "look after" me.
She's too young to do that and only just too old to be a sister figure.
FIL is amazing and has control over his gob and brain.

Loving FIM Bunny very apt.
Hope your Magic wascally wabbitt feels better soon.
I'd like a house wabbit but I'm lergic to them and James The Cat would be fwightened.
He was shit scared of the chinchilla but it did used to wind him up by waiting till he was close and ricocheting off the cage an inch from his face.

BunnyBaby · 26/04/2010 21:28

Love the ricocheting chinchillas. Wascally wabit scared of Lakeland SpotBot doing it's best to clean carpet ready for (victims) viewers tomorrow!

clareanna well done on the 4lbs, alas I have fallen by the wayside for the past 4 days but will try and be good tomorrow.

See y'all tomorrow xxx

sparklyrainbow · 26/04/2010 22:01

Awww, thanks for all the messages It's nice to have a buddy Alba, and now Margie too, yay! Congrats and as you say, let's hope for a boring 9 months.

linda, I recommend the SWI lots and lots approach- it has worked for me , plus I was keeping an eye on CM (had started to record on fertility friend with a view to temping if we didn't get anywhere) and seemed to have timed the 'intense' week about right...

and Cheepz, I also think you're amazing.

WYG what's your exhibition? Apologies if I have missed it on a previous page of the thread. Don't envy battling tube trains daily, mind you corridors of teenagers are similar in some ways, probably just as smelly!

Take care everyone and hope to see some more BFPs soon x

sparklyrainbow · 26/04/2010 22:05

ooh, WYG, crossed posts and have had look. That squirrel does look evil...

digitalgirl · 26/04/2010 22:25

Congrats margie!!!

PrettyVacant1 · 26/04/2010 23:15

Arse iPod is low on battery and won't open all the links properly.

Grrrr, pooters really are snidey electronic barstewards.
They hate me I tells ya.

I got enough to see scarey faries on squiddles.
I like Red ones too, I knew there was something going on!
I live very close to a Red Squiddle colony and the Grey squirrels faries are chasing them under cars and eating all the nuts so they have to move away.

Faries are bad.
They bite!

Excellent exibition WYG
I'll have a proper look tomorrow x

Disclaimer~ I am not drunk.
Or maybe I should say I am after re reading that!

PrettyVacant1 · 26/04/2010 23:18

I'm not keen on fairies either!

BunnyBaby · 27/04/2010 06:20

Caved in first thing this morning as fruit tastes bitter yesterday and need to pee a lot, even at night. A BFP on the CBD saying 4-5 weeks! Yay!

May or may not go to grads before 12 weeks, though will not loiter here, just keep up with you all and all the imminent BFP's. Got a bit upset last time on the ante natal threads with all the early losses, so may be easier to avoid. Especially as I found DS2 had died days before at that scan.

Happy to vacate my chair, so it can be sat on as lots of baby dust around at the moment and very contagious xxxx

littlemiss72 · 27/04/2010 07:10

Cheepz · 27/04/2010 09:06

bunny and margie big congrats to you both and heres hoping for uneventful 9 months!

working from home today but having connection problems so hoping the support desk will call back and sort it out

nice to not have to get suited and booted every once in a while and determined not to just head out to shops and blow some budget and sit and drink coffee in starbucks!

hope all doing well today, breakfast time for me...

PrettyVacant1 · 27/04/2010 09:15

Yeah Bunny how fab!
Stick around for as long as you like.

Crap top still fooked.
Magic disk wasn't that magic after all.
I may have to tidy the house
