He's all fine, he's doing it cos the IVF people wont accept any test results over 6 months & he did his last year.

I think I'll prob SWI when we fancy it for the rest of this month!

PollyPoo · 11/04/2010 22:00

Hey all. Thanks for the replies - I think I am just having a bit of a meltdown lately - I am fed up of putting my life on hold waiting for no2, when no2 may not ever appear. I guess that is why I want to push ahead with moving. (I thought I'd be pregnant when we moved... fat chance!)

Lou I am going to start an allergy/intolerance testing business. I'm going down soon to do some research/scout for places to run clinics etc at the beginning of May. Can't wait to get started.

Blimey there are some sickly people around... including Boo AGAIN. She now has diarhoea (sp?) only a week after getting over that horrible sickness bug. I am sooo hoping I don't get it.

Icedlemonmuffin · 11/04/2010 22:17

Sorry Fairy forgot that you have to go down ivf obstacle course!

Polly (sorry going to be naughty and ask non ttc question) what is the difference between allergy and intolerence? Think I have an allergy but can't work out what - i ate something and my face got really hot looked a bit puffy and I felt odd, took an anti histamine and felt a bit better. The next morning felt really drained and had a sore throat. Been to the gp he did a blood test and said results look normal and refuses to investigate further. Should I go back or am I being a drama queen? This has happened a few times now.

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 12/04/2010 11:55

Hey Iced I don't mind - sometimes its good to talk about stuff that is not related to ttc! I think that technically an allergy is something that will cause a severe and possibly life threatening reaction, say a bee sting to someone who is allergic will send them into anaphylactic shock and without medical treatment, they might die. An intolerance is something that, for various reasons, your body just cannot process and it will cause weird and wonderful reactions to let you know.

I take you haven't noticed a pattern when the reaction has happened? Were you outside? Or just eaten? Or used a different kind of skin product/cleaning stuff?

Does it happen fairly frequently? You could try keeping a food diary to try and work out what is setting you off. You could go back to the doctors and stamp your feet to see if that gets you any further but I think unfortunately GPs are not interested unless it is something that might kill you! Or you could find a reputable allergy tester and pay privately. I hope that helps!

Icedlemonmuffin · 12/04/2010 20:02

Thank you for your reply Polly

I know strawberrys bring my face up in a funny hot rash so I avoid them , but lately there has been something else. I will keep a food diary to see if I can work it out that way and then maybe revisit gp.

Hi all, It is great to read that other people are talking and thinking about non-ttc stuff sometimes! Your business idea sounds great - I would go for it if I were you Polly I like this thread better than the buses, although will still keep a seat as they keep a check on what day I am for me! But after a few months, the daily discussions about symptom spotting is wearing a bit thin!

I too thought I would be pregnant by now! I hoped to be preg by the winter so I could get out of carrying in the firewood! Better keep trying so I can get out of carrying in next winters firewood! (although not sure if I will be able to get away with that as ds will be going on 4 by then and I would still have to pick him up!)

Icedlemonmuffin · 12/04/2010 22:27

I ride the bus but skip past the stats really quickly because if I don't I freak myself out seeing what cycle day I'm on and stress that I didn't swi at the right time.

Me and dh have said we should try and get some of the closeness back and not worry so much about the ttc side of things, easier said than done but will try very hard.

On a lighter note Dd is totally sucked in by the ads on tv, thinks they all tell the truth and that they do everything that they say they do. The other day she saw the ad for match.com turned to dh and said 'dump mum join match.com and find the love of your life next to a lift'. Me and dh looked at each other and burst out laughing, dd looked really hurt and said 'i'm only trying to sort daddy out'. Dh said but mummy is the love of my life and dd said oh right well you can join the aa for half price then. Think I need to keep her away from the tv!!

Chuckles at Ice's DD! She is really funny.

I like this thread too.

Am going to tbe docs tomorrow for results and a n internal exam. Nice!!

Loujalou · 13/04/2010 10:21

Anyways am planning a holiday. Am thinking Sardinia - anyone been? It looks lush, has nice beaches and you can eat lovely Italian food and gelati.

Any recommendations appreciated. But not really on Forte Village budget!

PollyPoo · 13/04/2010 11:52

I like this thread better too, in fact I haven't visited the bus since I joined the december one.

Lou Sardinia sounds lovely and I could really fancy a week or two of pigging out on pasta and icecream! I could soooo do with a holiday somewhere nice and hot, but will have to make do with a week in Dorset at my folks place.

So today, fellow bus-whores, I am mostly driving myself mental! I am CD25/8DPO. My best month on TCM so far was 10DPO so I am tentatively hoping for more this month. However the last 2 mornings my temps shot up really high (see chart if nosy!) and I think if I have another high day tomorrow it will be classed as triphasic. Which could be a pg indicator. I am fully aware that I am clinging tightly to straws (hear those nails snapping?!) but as I've never had a triphasic chart before I'm obviously hoping it is Good News. Of course, it could just indicate that the TCM is working and my previously pathetic progesterone levels are increasing. Which is still good news of course, I'd just prefer the other kind. So remember what I said about not being sure about no2?!! Contradicting myself muchly?

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2b93a5

Anyway, enough mememe... how is everyone else today?

Loujalou · 13/04/2010 11:59

TH keeps saying we should go to Dorsettio (Dorset in an Italian accent!). Men and their bad jokes.

Pol you is asking the wrong person about temping as have convinced myself so many times from charts that I have won a baby and have been wrong each time. My temp is even high during and after the RTD which nearly made me go for a HPT. After the witch had gone. So maybe someone else less mad than me can help.

PollyPoo · 13/04/2010 12:09

Baddum tush! Well Lou if you make it to 'dorsettio' then i will come and meet you, and Boo and Adi can make friends and play on the beach while we drink gin coffee.

I think I am just desperate not to have to go on the Clomid so I am trying to convince myself I'm pg. There is a clock ticking down to D Day on 19 May (next fertility clinic appt). Once RTOD has appeared I have to go back to Docs for more Day3 bloods, which will hopefully show the TCM has done the trick and my FSH levels no longer indicate I am an 80yr old woman with dessicated eggs! Then I will win the Clomid. Woop woop

Icedlemonmuffin · 13/04/2010 12:14

Lou never been but sounds fab. You should just book it.

Polly I haven't a clue about temping, I tried but my temp seemed to be very high to start with and I just got confused. But fingers crossed it's positive news for you.

I'm busy watching tv and on mn while dd gets on with her homework!! I know naughty mummy but I'm just making sure that I'm on hand incase dd needs me (lemon sneaks some Easter egg in her mouth while dd not looking)

I adorded dd when she was pre school age, really cute when they say mad stuff to you, but she is even more funny now because she gets a little bit of information and just comes up with the maddest conclusions. I suppose a this age they can think for themselves but don't see the world so blinkered like us oldies. They bring humour to the worst situation, when I had mc (luckily we hadn't told her) I needed a blood transfusion (2 pints) and she asked dh which cow (field near our house)did they got the blood from to make me better!! Her reasoning was we get milk and meat from them why not blood.

Fairygodmother1 · 13/04/2010 21:29

Think I'm seriously letting the bus down this month! CD 16 & only SWI 2 times!!!! Not good!!!!

Good positive thinking Polly

PollyPoo · 13/04/2010 22:40

Fairy that is nothing... we only did it once this month! Well, actually it was twice but due to delayed ovulation, it was once that was close enough. But then again, when I got up the pole with Boo we only did it once.... it only takes one after all!

PollyPoo · 14/04/2010 06:58

9DPO today and temp still rising. I am trying and failing not to get my hopes up... [mentally deranged emoticon]

UmBongo · 14/04/2010 09:12

We only managed once too! So no hopes here (apart from the ridiculous insane one that always is there saying maybe- just maybe!) [mentally unstable]

Well, even my sis in law is preg round here! I am thrilled that ds will have a cousin in my side, and sooooo chuffed that my bro will be a daddy, sil has had bad endo so it really did look like an if not a when for them, but she didn't seem to be falling apart at the seams like I am! I don't know how long they have actually been trying for as the line has always been that she is too busy for a family right now. BUT we all know the lies we tell?!?!

It always only takes the once doesn't it. Maybe I really will have to invest in a shellsuit, peroxide and huge gold hoop earrings.

Am still having difficulty with the fact that dh said to docs when we went for our joint appt that he thought that sex was not as easy or ejaculate as much as it used to be. Why did he not think to do anything about that at any time over the last TWO YEARS? When he knows I am falling apart about the lack of little sis or bro?

Icedlemonmuffin · 14/04/2010 09:28

UmBongo don't forget to scrape your hair back in a high ponytail and your tits need to be hanging out of your food stained shell suit!! Then go and drink lots of wkd and sleep with as many lads as you can and bingo you will be up the duff in no time

on the swi side only done it twice as well due to illness.

OP posts:
Loujalou · 14/04/2010 10:59

Umbungo you also forgot that you are not supposed to know the name of the father of the babyyyyyy and baby going to be called Kylie.

Polster fingers crossed you are going triphasic.

Anyways have been to the docs and according to the bloods I am ovulating and prolactin is not too high. Just need the results of wank test and we can be referred onwards. Not sure how long waiting lists are though. Might go private.

Icedlemonmuffin · 14/04/2010 15:31

Glad it was good news at the docs Lou fingers crossed on the swimmers front.

Back to the subject of UmBongos makeover or should that be chavover? You need a really classy tatoo like a heart with a dagger through it on your chest area and if your bundle of Chav is a boy it's got to be called Wayne junior, maybe after his dad maybe not (5 out of the ten lads were called Wayne ).

What does triphasic mean?

OP posts:
Loujalou · 14/04/2010 16:52

Umbungoumbongotheydrinkitinthecongo I think a rose tattoo will be better with the ex love of your life's name on it. Wayne is a good bet though. You will need to name kiddy from where he was conceived. Peckham has a good ring to it.

Loujalou · 14/04/2010 16:53

Triphasic is when you have two separate temperature rises. Can be a sign of mentalness pregnancy.

Loujalou · 14/04/2010 16:59

Umbungo do you have something to do with the website I have linked to.

Icedlemonmuffin · 14/04/2010 17:04

Thanks Lou don't understand all the temp lingo.

UmBongocongos baby could be called weatherspoons, asda or jeremy (after chav god).

Loujalou · 15/04/2010 08:47

So pol am waiting with bated breath for the next instalment of Temperature Watch. Not that I have already checked your chart for any signs or am stalking you!
