The Palace is open and the anti-freeze is flowing - Blue Bols 50p a shot! Two for one on Archers and orange, for the classy BESHies (the ones who keep their hats on whilst undergoing an internal examination).

We have Vampire Bill and Brian Cox in the Dungeon, and David Mitchell and Brian Eno tending the bar....

eek muser how utterly scary for you. Thing bout ectopic is it fucking hurts and your shoulder aches, if I recall. You absolutely sure it isn't implanted in the correct place? Must it be ectopic?

Muser · 11/02/2010 11:20

It's not inevitably ectopic, and the lack of pain is probably a good sign. But even if it's not ectopic, if my HCG levels aren't dropping I think it's still failed because of the progesterone, and will require something to make it go away, given that I'm not bleeding.

Eadwacer · 11/02/2010 11:29

Muser - wish I could convey how sorry I am. Fucking hell. I'm still going to hang onto tiny shreds of hope for you, but at the same time say 'fuck' a lot.

I fink it's good that you're going to fess up to your line manager - you don't need the added stress of not being supported at work.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 11/02/2010 11:33

Muser that is awful thinking of you, hon.

Cokie · 11/02/2010 11:43

Muse fingers cross for you my lovely. Just maybe a glimmer that the NHS people you have been dealing with have also been incompetent and misdiagnosed and it is all fine afterall. Sit on sofa with tea and gin and watch Jeremy Kyle - that'll cheer you up.

RunLyraRun · 11/02/2010 11:51

Muser that is beyond shit. So sorry hon. I can't believe they didn't tell you of their suspicions last week

The BESHs certainly are having a time of it with the NHS at the moment

Muser · 11/02/2010 11:52

There really isn't any glimmer of hope folks. Low progesterone means many bad things. Honestly, I have been googling like a nutter. You know how normally you find miracle stories? I'm not finding any. Unless people are known from the start to be prone and put on supplements.

Cokie · 11/02/2010 11:54

Bollocks bollocks bollocks

Ocarina · 11/02/2010 11:56

Oh Muser. I don't know what to say. Really hope you get sense out of the medics and support from work, can't imagine how horrible the waiting must be. Look after yourself.

laurielou · 11/02/2010 12:33

Oh muse what an absolute crock of shite. Good luck telling your LM all about it, sounds like a sensible move.

Am proper gutted for you, x

salander · 11/02/2010 13:21

Aw muse lovely that is so fucking awful. thinking of you

idealcamel · 11/02/2010 13:42

Muse Much suckage. Poor you.

After gin's awful Christmas, am really worried about the word ectopic. Can they scan you and check where the pregnancy is happening?

ChoChoSan · 11/02/2010 13:44

Hi Muser,

Right, girl...

Sorry that I can't read back to see what the history behind your presemed m/c was, but...how far along should you be now? By 5 weeks they should be able to see a gestational sac on a scan, so surely they can check to see if indeed it is in the tube, or if it's in the uterus.

I don't think you should be waiting for another hcg test AT ALL...if you are still pregnant and they think it's in the tube, then they need to be taking extremely good care of you immediately, because it could be serious...if you are at least 5 weeks along, they should be able to locate gestational sac by scanning you.

I would go to EPAU, kick up a stink, and say you have abdominal pains etc., and just lose it with them a bit...you have been patient and done things their way, but this it a horrible situation to be in...you need facts immediately.

Lots of un BESH-like hugz'n'shiz

What was the date of your last period?

OP posts:
Cokie · 11/02/2010 14:46

Totally top advise cho

Muser · 11/02/2010 14:47

Last proper period was just before Christmas, after the last mc, so that would be around 7 weeks now. My HCG levels do not suggest that, the hospital only scans if you're over 1000, last time I was 257. That is pathetic for what should have been 6+3.

They said if my HCG levels had risen to that point they'd scan me, but right now they don't think they'd see anything.

I am hideously confused by the whole thing.

Cokie · 11/02/2010 14:53

where are you? are you in London? I seem to remember you are. Judging but your previous history they bloody well should scan you.

Muser · 11/02/2010 15:05

I am in London and trying to form a plan of action.

So, I call clinic this evening to get my results. What do I need to say? I always forget the questions when I'm sat there listening to them.

iggypiggy · 11/02/2010 15:07

muser are you anywhere near st georges? they have a walk in epu.... go there and say you worried about ectopic.

PollyPoo · 11/02/2010 15:07

Good call Cho - get yourself off to the EPAU Muser and do whatever you need to to get scanned. Big hugs.

TwinkleToes76 · 11/02/2010 15:10

Oh god, what a lot of shitty things happening on here.

Muser agree that you should push for a scan if you feel up to it - are you anywhere near UCLH (Warren Street tube)? They didn't take any blood from me to test for hormone levels when I went in just did an internal scan straight away.

Sorry to Cho for babyfail and for general shiteness of doctors everyone else has come across. Cockdodger do you only need donor sperm or do one of you have fertility issues too? I'd be surprised if that decision wasn't unlawful under the sex discrimination act? Think I remember a case that decided it was indirect sex discrimination to refuse continuing IVF on grounds that it was a same sex couple. Totally irrelevant to your situation and probably of no interest to anyone but me but my sister just made contact with her donor father.

Cokie · 11/02/2010 15:12

I was going to suggest St George's or King's they are both excellent, although take a book as you may have a wait!!
Demand a scan, give your history, and don't be fobbed off by them saying there is no point scanning. I seriously doubt St George's or King's would not scan you.

Muser · 11/02/2010 15:19

I'm already being seen at Guys & St Thomas', I think I'd rather persist with them rather than go over everything again.

idealcamel · 11/02/2010 15:31

There's an EGU at Guys, apparently - you can walk in and ask them to scan?

Muser · 11/02/2010 15:33

That's where I've been going camel. They wouldn't scan me because the hormone levels are so low nothing would be seen.

CUNextTuesday · 11/02/2010 15:47

I don't think I'm talking too much out of my arse if I say a 7 week ectopic preg would smart somewhat...

Kick up a fuss muse - like scropey said, why should you suffer because of their problems. Dmand a straight answer and to see someone. If nothing else why should you live with the uncertainty?
