Cheap tests & ov tests

lovecloud · 01/07/2005 20:42

Thank you - sending heaps of lucky love & baby fairy dust your way

All week I have been going on about babies to my dh and he kept saying it was not the right time and we need a few more months to sort out our finances etc. When I called him today to tell him the horrible period had come he sounded disappointed which is great! So maybe I will not need to do any convincing anyway

Is this your first or second baby? I am worried that if I get too obsessed with this whole thing I will make conceiving harder as I have heard people say that when they relaxed and did not try so hard it happended. I just hope that everytime I make love now I wont be thinking, "come on little sperm, I know you can do - head for the egg!" instead of thinking "oooh ahhh, i like that.. harder" i may never orgasm again!!!

Jen1209 · 01/07/2005 20:58

Hey Lovelcloud, thanks for the baby dust!

I've heard the whole "relax" thing several times too and it might work but is enormously difficult to when you want a baby beany so badly!

Know exactly what you mean, my head starts filling up with thoughts of "swim boys swim" not "ooooh, that's nice"!!!!!!!! - makes it v difficult to concentrate!!!

This is baby no 1, had a m/c nearly 4 years ago and have just had 21 day blood tests as have been ttc for a year. Think I remember you saying you had a baby already??? Your DH sounds as though he is not too against the idea - good luck! (maybe you needn't have cooked the special meal - tee hee)

Jen1209 · 01/07/2005 21:00

OK Lovecloud, sorry for 2 things: -

  1. Spelt your name wrong
  2. Have just noticed you have a dd!

Am going to teach myself powers of observation over the weekend!

bubble99 · 01/07/2005 22:07

Can I join you? I'm waiting for AF after having DT1 four and a half months ago. I'm still BF but I'm desperate to conceive again asap.

MrsQ · 02/07/2005 07:57

Morning All. Welcome on board bubble99. Slight complication to report... now not only do I have to concentrate on 'mm, that's nice' rather than 'pls get pg, pls get pg', it seems I also have to try block Jen1209 and Lovecloud saying the same things out of my head! Very disconcerting x

Jen1209 · 02/07/2005 16:38

Sorry Mrs Q, if it's any comfort, at least we'll probably all be thinking of each other!

homemama · 02/07/2005 18:15

Welcome bubble99
Just checked and as AF arrived yesterday, if I manage to get pg this month, my EDD will be April 7th. I probably shouldn't have done that as I'll just be disappointed but you guys all know what it's like.

MrsQ · 02/07/2005 18:56

Know exactly what u mean - have worked through various combinations of dates: due dates, due dates + the number of days I was overdue with ds, 40 weeks from days had BD etc etc for the last few AFs. Now luckily have so many dates floating around they're all merging into one a bit and I keep forgetting them.

pinklilith · 02/07/2005 22:59

I'm getting a little over excited now, am on cd45, 11 days overdue, and I have already worked out due 28th feb, please keep your fingers crossed for me, due to lack of bfp have got doctors appointment for friday.

Flamesparrow · 03/07/2005 08:17

Good luck to all you guys. Sending more dust your way!!!

angelp · 03/07/2005 08:26

I am TTC too. One DD nearly 2. This will be first month of TTC - we've been talking about it for ages but been a bit rubbish at going for it. Got AF at the mo so next couple weeks will be busy!

pinklilith · 03/07/2005 11:42

angelp - I have my fingers crossed for you!

flamesparrow - how are you doing?

Cadmum · 03/07/2005 12:23

I just thought that I would drop in to say that I got my BFP yesterday! Sorry that my stay here was a short one. I wish you all the best with your TTC quests.

pinklilith · 03/07/2005 12:26

congrats cadmum, hope its a healthy pregnancy and a healthy happy baby at the end of it.

homemama · 03/07/2005 15:00

Well done Cadmum, all the best for a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth!

lilaclotus · 03/07/2005 15:14

cadmum, congratulations!!! wish you all the best {{hug}}

Flamesparrow · 03/07/2005 16:03

Congratulations!!!!

I'm doing fine Pinklilith - scared of the sickness kicking in, but so far its been ok. Starting to feel less tired again too.

lovecloud · 03/07/2005 23:26

Hello

Congratulations Cadmum

I have only been on my peroid for 3 days and it has also most stopped plus I have continues to feel sick during the day since last week so I am still hanging onto some hope!!!

If my period stops tomorrow, I have one test left - shall I try it or am i being silly?

I had a short period with my first and it was only when my next period did not come did i test so fingers crossed it may be the same thing.

MandM · 04/07/2005 11:16

Hello to all the newcomers over the weekend! Good luck to everyone - hope we get lots of graduates this month (including me!!!!)

Cadmum - CONGRATULATIONS

Just wondering when I should test this month. My cylce on the pill was obviously an exact 28 days, and from what I cna remember, it was the same before that. Last month was the first month off the pill and the first month ttc, my AF came after 33 days (5 days late or new cycle length??). So, based on 28 days, I would be due a week today, but based on 33 days it would be a week on Saturday. I don't think I can wait that long to test. What do you think?
Definitely feel pregnant BTW but could well be all in my head !

homemama · 04/07/2005 12:08

Morning Mandm, it could be that the longer cycle was justyour body getting adjusted again. You could by a pack of two and do one test on tue and the other on sat!
But if you're anything like me, the second test wont make it that long.

homemama · 04/07/2005 12:08

obv buy not by

MandM · 04/07/2005 12:48

HM - that's what I was thinking!!! I've really got my hopes up this month, so I'm just hoping and praying there isn't going to be a massive disappointment at the end of it all. I won't do a 'Flamesparrow' and keep you all waiting I promise!!! If there is any news you guys will be the first to know (after dh of course!)!!!
God, next Tuesday seems such a long time away....

Dana · 04/07/2005 16:56

Congratulations Cadmum Had a feeling you would get your BFP!

MandM, maybe compromise and test at day 30-31, but can totally understand if you can't wait. As I have said before the second 2 weeks of the cycle seem to drag on forever

I have had lower back and stomach pains since Friday and was sure that AF would arrive as had a tiny bit of spotting on Saturday morning. But nothing since......

Had decided not to test until Wednesday, but couldn't stand it any longer, so tested today. Sounds silly but not sure, if there was a very, very, very faint line, or whether I was just imagining it. Looked at it again a couple of hours later and definately a line (though faint), but could be an evaporation line. So not really any further forward Had hoped that a test would put my mind at rest one way or another, but am just feeling even more unsure now.

If AF has not arrived by Wednesday, I will do another test. Lots of babydust in this direction, please!!

Just hate the way it takes over everything, I can't get to sleep at night, can't concentrate at work and am slightly agitated all the time. Hmm, will know soon enough I suppose.

homemama · 04/07/2005 20:37

Dana, when I was pg with DS, I had quite bad period like cramps at the time that I would've been due on that first period so I was quite surprised to get a + test.
Hope this is the same for you. The spotting could be implantation bleed.
