Good morning

Good for you lilaclotus, imagine getting excited about af arriving

homemama, let me know how you get on with the ov kit. I didn't use them this cycle as it was my first and was going for the "if it happens it happens" approach. But when (if??) af arrives, I might think about it, as am more desperate than I thought

lilaclotus · 07/07/2005 13:41

dana, i feel the same. i think we'll try one or two months and then i might buy an OV kit.
homemama, good luck and have fun at the weekend

MandM · 07/07/2005 14:16

Hello everyone!

CONGRATULATIONS DesperateHousewife!

Just been reading over everyones news from the last few days. LL that's good news about AF coming. Dana there is still hope .

Looks like there are going to be quite a few DHs walking round with big grins on their faces!

I'm on CD25, getting impatient for CD29 and CD33 now! Bought the pack of 3 tests off e-bay and they arrived yesterday. Wasted one straight away! Middle of the afternoon on CD24 so there wsa only ever going to be one result really - but I wanted to practice!!!!

OP posts:
Dana · 07/07/2005 14:35

I am impressed with your willpower MandM Practice makes perfect, I suppose....

Yeah, no af yet, so am still hoping. Just wish I had waited til I had had my first af before trying, as now I don't know if it is just my system adjusting.
Don't want to waste my money, so will hold out as long as possible before testing again. Maybe you could teach me how

MandM · 07/07/2005 15:08

Dana - I meant I wasted one of the tests by using it even though I knew I would get a BFN! Did you think I meant practising BDing?!

OP posts:
Dana · 08/07/2005 07:21

MandM, no I was talking about the testing. You wrote in your post that you wanted to practice

angelp · 08/07/2005 07:48

I am on CD 9 now. DH been away all week and exhausted apparently so hoping to jump on him tomorrow! I have some OP sticks too, but aren't you fertile still a few days before OV?

homemama · 08/07/2005 08:40

Angelp, I think you can concieve from having nookie a day or two before you OV because the 'girl' sperm can live for a few days. That's why if you do it before you OV, you're more likely to have a girl.

angelp · 08/07/2005 09:19

Thanks homemama. Had heard that but wasn't sure. Very happy with a BFP soon whatever the sex, but another girl would be icing on the cake so best go for it quick!

MandM · 08/07/2005 09:34

Dana, lol . I misunderstood what you had posted and went home yesterday thinking you had this image of me as some kind of novice nympho!!!!

Anyway, CD26 today, getting closer..........

Any developments with you?

MandM
So have you decided if you're gonna test on Monday or Thursday - or sometime in between?
CD34 for me and still no af. So frustrating I think I will do another test on Monday as I will then be a week over time (of af due if still on the pill). Have been really tired and dizzy for the last couple of days, but could just be lack of sleep and the heat. Keep looking for signs. Just want to know now..

angelp, as far as I know they can sometimes live for 3-4 days, but I am not an expert Hope you and hubby have a fun weekend

StarryEyed · 08/07/2005 17:10

Hi girls

I popped in to say hope everyone is alright after yesterday and also I got a BFP. Still can't believe it as I thought my AF had started but had two days of very light discharge - just brown in colour - which I thought was very odd so I did a test two days later and it was a BFP. Confirmed it again two days ago. Just had my first appt today with the dictor. Pls keep your fingers crossed for me. Still no signs so I don't feel pregnant IYKWIM. Will only rest easy after scan.

Hope all of you are well and thank you for your kind words.

lilaclotus · 08/07/2005 18:53

oh starryeyed! that's really fantastic news! bless, you were so sad because you thought AF came. congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy {{hug}}

desperatehousewife · 08/07/2005 18:59

oh starry - that's the most fantastic news ! Well done. So I guess we are both 5 weeks....?

homemama · 09/07/2005 10:03

Starry-that's fantastic news. You seemed so down. So very pleased for you

MrsQ · 10/07/2005 11:13

That's fantastic news Starry - well done for not giving up and doing a test even tho you thought AF had arrived.

Any news from Lovecloud?

munz · 10/07/2005 11:14

just hijacking to say congrats SE and DH - i'm 5+2 today so we'll all be around the same time.

Good luck to everyone waiting to test!

Flamesparrow · 10/07/2005 12:12

Starry - YAY YAY YAY

angelp · 11/07/2005 06:57

Wow well done everyone. So good to hear of BFP's - gives the rest of us hope

StarryEyed · 11/07/2005 09:22

Hi girls

Thank you for your kind messages. What a turn around of events. I was so down one minute confused the next then mildly elated and now happy. Hope it sticks. I haven't had any probs so far and fintgers crossed it stays that way. I will be six weeks on Wed. DH it is so funny we started the first thread and we are now both pregnant. Fantatic news really and good luck to the rest of you.

I am not going to be content until I have had my scan. Hope it won't be too long a wait. Worried about Down's as well as I am 36. Got to wait and see. It is such a long road of waiting and seeing isn't it?

How are the rest of you doing?

Dana · 11/07/2005 09:23

Congratulations Starry That is fantastic. So happy for you!!! Hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy. When is your due date?

MandM · 11/07/2005 10:10

Wow Starryeyed - congratulations! That is usch fantastic news to start the week off with.

Dana - are you testing today?

I can't decide when to test. I was going to do it tomorrow (CD30) but I keep wondering if I will only disappoint myself if it is a BFN and whether I should wait until weekend? Not sure.

OP posts:
StarryEyed · 11/07/2005 11:22

Thanks. Due date March 7

MandM · 11/07/2005 11:51

StarryEyed - that's fantastic and a brilliant time of year to have a baby! Mat leave over the summer and baby just old enough to play on the grass when the hot weather comes

I've just worked out that if I get a BFP this month, because I would have to have a planned c-section at 38 weeks (due to a complete farce with dd) my revised due date would be March 6!

Artoo · 11/07/2005 12:29

Hi ladies!

Just wanted to stick my head around the door and introduce myself. I'm a late starter (I'll be 34 later this month), and it's only recently that the time has become right for me and hubby to start trying for our first baby.

I might be a little optimitic joining the Spring baby thread - I had my smear test last week (part of my pre-baby preparations), and because it's been a while since my last one the nurse recommended I wait for the results to confirm "all clear" before starting to try - this could be 6 to 8 weeks. I hope it will be sooner than that, but you never know.

So I'll be around, wishing baby dust to all you ladies who are trying, and joining you just as soon as I can

Hugs,
Artoo.
