Hello everyone, congrats to Beaufies - they say a line is a line, well done and much stickiness to you!
Strange cycle story of the week (Harry Hill music Rowing?!) AF came 2 days early, so had acup moved to fit in with day 10 & 14. Started OPK day 10 - nada, likewise days 11, 12 , 13, 14, 15, 16 but copius EWCM (tmi maybe.) from day 15. Today day 17, thought ah well let's waste another stick - got a smiley face!! What's happening..... at least had a bit of a BD this morning - and laid in bed for at least half an hour afterwards, a la Guardian article!
of the week - met an aquaintance at pumpkin carving, turns out she had MC in July and got BFP the following month. Much exchanging of bump stuff between her and my preg friend. Grrr.
Gotta go and put up vast quantities of spiders spooks etc as having biggest Halloween party ever tomorrow!
Happy Halloween to all x

Kiwi, sorry about AF. It really sucks. Big Hugs.

Beaufies - congratulations!I hope there are many many more bfp's.

I'm not posting much these days due to nothing happening here! I have such a range of conflicting confusing feelings over this.Sometimes I think I should just forget the whole thing. And I read the stupid article about the 70% increase in Downs syndrome because we are all older mums, which just has me so worried....but then I think I've gotta go for it as I'll regret it if i don't.

I suppose it's still a bit of a non-argument whilst there's no sign of my cycle returning. I should be glad, no AF to worry about, and I love BFing my son, sometimes I just don't know what to think....It doesn't help that I have dreams that have me holding a positive preg test! Ugh!

hippychick66 · 31/10/2009 17:41

Kiwi I got the prog gel from my GP - I found out about it on the net and just asked and she gave it to me. She gave me 3 months worth. Gotta say though that it didn't perform magic tricks this month. Started spotting late last night and a bit today (day 24) so cycle looks like still being shorter than I wanted.(Think I ov'd on day 16)

I started taking B-100 Complex from H&B as recommended by someone on Mumsnet. It's meant to help with the LPD. The first time I pee'd after i'd taken it I nearly died!!!! Bright green wee . Read the label and it says it has watercress, parsley and some other green thing in it - so that explains the almost luminous pee - phew.

Reflexology is going really well. Next week we are going to start visualisation (sending positive vibes to my bits and peices).

I read somewhere that people who come on when the moon is full are more fertile. Just looked out and it looks really full out there and if the spotting continues this could count as day 1 - so I'll take that as a good sign - who would have thought a few years ago that I'd start believing all that nonsense!!!!

Many congrats to the new lady who conceived using IUI - sorry forgot your name. There was someone else on here who was interested in IUI so she'll find your news very positive.

Good luck to all. I'm off to the Fertility Show at Earls Court next week - will report back after.

KiwiKat · 31/10/2009 20:26

What is the particular gel you're using, Hippy? I'm going to give it a go in our last cycle before we try ivf. Are you in London, if you're going to Earls Court? I was thinking of checking out that show as well.

Hope you're all having a spooky Hallowe'en!

hippychick66 · 01/11/2009 14:53

Hi Kiwi, not actually in London but near enough to visit - although i hate going in to London, hate the tube and all the crowds but will put up with it for my possible unborn child!!

The gel is called Crinone 8%. You put it up on day 18 -21. It made my boobs feel really weird just like they did when I was pregnant so i got all excited and then realised that it was just the extra progesterone that was making them feel like Dolly Parton not an actual pregnancy. My GP said it was mostly used in IVF to prepare the womb lining for the embryo but she was really good, she read up on it and said she could see how it could work in my situation too and she was happy for me to try it for 3 months. She did say however, that she didn't think it was a miracle cure for short LP because if it was she felt it would be more widely used. I said I was happy to be the guinea pig who discovered it worked . What makes you want to try it - are you having short cycles or some other problem?? Sorry I know I should know the answer to that but there are quite a few people on here now and I often get everyone's situation muddled up

hippychick66 · 01/11/2009 15:02

Confession - cos AF got me yesterday I decided I would have a little drink at the Halloween Party we went to. I started on the punch and I'm afraid to say I just didn't stop. Hang over today for the first time in years (not much of a drinker).

A friend at the party decided to tell all the people in the ktchen that we were trying for a baby and I was then paranoid that someone was gonna say something negative about my age - fortunatley this didn't happen so all was ok. I'll bet they all thought I shouldn't be drinking so much if I was trying but what the heck. I'll be good again from today I promise.

Feeling very sorry for myself - hangover and period pains on the same day - ahh poor old hippy!

Woodelf · 01/11/2009 16:32

Poor Hippy - you party girl! Thanks for the information about Crinone 8%. I'll read up about it and see if I can get hold of some.

DH is very keen for me to have the swineflu injection now, as he thinks it would be dangerous to have it when pregnant. Tell them you're having IVF, he says, as if it's a sure thing to work. Doom and gloom me thinks what's the point, I'm not going to even GET pregnant. Snap out of it, Kiwi!

Just tweaking the list.

OK Kiwi - have a read and see if it's relevant to your situation. It did seem to make me sleepy - I snuggled up to DH on the sofa and went out like a light every time I used it, plus there was of course the Dolly PArton Boob thing (they didn't look any different - just felt it). But on the whole it seems a pretty uncomplicated thing to try and it might just help me/you.

Headache better now and period pains under control - already working our when baby would be born if got preg this month - God the desire is insatiable isn't it!!!!

rowingboat · 02/11/2009 18:33

Hi everyone,
sorry we have been a bit AWOL recently.
Kiwi, boo at AF. I'm sorry this is taking so long, what a pain.

Hippy that is great that you are getting on well with the reflexology, it's good to be doing something positive and relaxing.

Ghengis the Harry Hill music was from his TV Burp, where he always has a strange thing of the week and he plays this stupid jingle.
And I think your OPK experience qualifies for the jingle.

Beufies, congratulations

Gum sorry things haven't settled down, just get on with life and it will happen, that's what I reckon. You sound very fertile to me.

I am still having second AF in two weeks, it has gone on for over 7 days now and I have a scan appointment for Friday. Don't think there's much point having a CD number at the moment.
The clinic are talking about preparing for the frozen transfer this month, for the start of December, but this weird AF hormone thing inclines me towards delaying until things have settled.

spiralqueen · 02/11/2009 20:49

Congrats beaufies lots of stickyness coming your way. Fills me with positive thoughts about my probable upcoming IUI attempt.

Rowing poor old you - I'd be pretty hacked off too.

TMI alert - had loads of EWCM this month like Ghengis not seen that much for ages so feeling hopeful but trying equally to put it out of my mind during the 2WW. And we all know how easy that is

Would it be an idea to add the ages of the thread graduates - it might be interesting and encouraging?

beaufies · 02/11/2009 21:56

Well, it seems that it will be a short stay for me on this thread. Have had my BFP, still feel pregnant ie have symptoms and am now on day 40 I have booked a scan at 8wks as if there is a heartbeat then you have a 97% of everything being ok so not too long to wait.

I just want to stop by and wish you all the luck in the world and to say to try and stay positive. I also wanted to pass on a couple of tips. For this and my first pregnancy I religiously followed the advice of Foresight www.foresight-preconception.org.uk/

Also, for this and my successful conception last time I listened to a CD every day for the preceding month. This CD gives subliminal messages about fertility and conception with the sounds of the sea over the top. It is very relaxing and can be found here www.innertalk.co.uk/acatalog/Fertility.html

I know there is an element of luck but I also think that it helps to know that you have done everything you can. I hope these things can help some of you get your BFPs

Good Luck xx

Woodelf · 03/11/2009 14:20

Congrats Beau on your BFP - many more to come I'm sure. I am also a great fan of mental as well as physical preparation and any relaxation has to be good!

KiwiKat · 03/11/2009 22:55

Evening all - just a quick hello, and to see how you're all doing. Will be thinking of you on Friday, Rowing. Thanks for the link to your website, Beauflies.

rowingboat · 04/11/2009 12:05

Hi everyone,
cor it's a bit cold! [shivers] Must put my heating on. Well we have half the heating on, but I have been trying to avoid heating the sitting room because of the sinus thing - in case it worsens.
DS has very kindly donated another of his colds to my cause, it just seems endless.
How is everyone else health-wise?
I was thinking this morning, the reminder letter for the next treatment actually seems to be an invoice - which, considering we haven't actually started treatment and don't have start date, seems a bit premature.
Is there some kind of unique situation in the health service where you pay weeks in advance of treatment, do they have to go out and buy everything in advance?? I must give them a list so they buy the biscuits I like.

Spiral that sounds good about the ewcm, that's what you need. I don't think we have a tmi problem on here.

KiwiKat · 04/11/2009 13:35

Agreed - there's not MUCH on this site or thread that's considered TMI!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 04/11/2009 16:25

Evening all (it's 3 hours ahead here). Well, AF got me and i learned a sorry lesson not to pee on a stick too early, see a faint line and then get horrible and very heavy period same day (4 days early, on the full moon). Very cheesed off but it's only the first try and at least I can have that bottle of wine in the fridge - not the whole thing at once you understand. Also, got to sing The Messiah next Friday and got a night out soon.

I have got a new mouse that actually works and have cut and pasted and added myself to the list updtaing to today's date. Sorry to those who are now on a new cycle - not sure how long your cycles are so just added 3 days to everything.

Hi Ilove well I need a new mouse, too! I just cannot get the blighter to copy and paste.

AF actually got me yesterday so I am now on CD2 if anyone updates the list later... thanks.

I agree it would be great to keep a list of graduates at the bottom of the list, with ages! I am feeling ancient after reading some of the August bus. I am officially 103, and far too old - bah .

hippychick66 · 04/11/2009 16:41

Just a thought but do we need to know what cd we're all on??? Mine is nothing like the list and it seems many others are wrong too.

Perhaps we should just put age and how many cycles we've tried for etc. And forget the very complicated process of trying to work out who is nearly there! Just an idea. If you want to know if anyone else is at the same stage as yourself you could just ask ... anyone POAS today??? Or anyone suffering the 2WW. That kind of thing.

Personally I'm on day 5 and off to the reflexologist tonight for some positive visualisation - yum can't wait - I Love it.
