nappy made sense to me - thanks for the link; really interesting!

hope everyone ok.... quietly counting away days here, gosh time passes so slowly when you're desperate to get to a milestone .

Frosticle · 14/01/2010 15:59

ILGH just sneaked-off to have a look at your boys - they're beautiful!! And I suspect DS#3 is even more beautiful when not pulling funny face!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 14/01/2010 19:17

Okay, will relent and put a beautiful one on then...

Can you tell I'm bored?

Only ten days to test...

hippychick66 · 14/01/2010 20:46

hi guys. How nice that you added me to the role call (even when i was absent)- bless you.

Looked at the pics ILGH - very handsome. I didn't even know you could look at profiles like that.

All ok with me - nothing new to report. First appointment with Midwife a week tomorrow - that will be great. I get to talk abot me being pregnant and apparently the appointment should last an hour! So i get to talk about my fav subject for ages - whoop whoop.

Good luck to all.

Missy8c · 14/01/2010 21:50

OK well that's an invitation to join that I can't refuse. I think I posted some time ago but I've only been lurking since as I'm not TTC yet. I am 42 and had DD2 7 in June at 41. DD1 is 21
I am getting married in June this year and am thinking about starting TTC #3 on honeymoon if I can persuade my OH. Hope you don't mind me joining your lovely, friendly group even as a WTTer!!

KiwiKat · 14/01/2010 22:46

ILGH, your boys are beautiful!Really cute.
I know alot of people prefer to stay anonymous, but I love looking at pics of other posters and their kids because it makes it easier to get to know them. Any chance of a pic of you?

I'll have to look into adding pics to my profile, but chances are ,being the ludite that I am,I won't be able to!

It's really nice seeing everyone's stats. I wonder why mumsnet doesn't organise "signatures" that would always appear on our posts - it makes it easier to remember who's who...

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 14/01/2010 23:13

Hi gumblossom, I was really lucky in that it took me only a couple of months to conceive DD2. I did have a miscarriage just before her though and have had two since and so am very nervous TTC again. I'm also using hemp oil on DD2 but have to resort to steriods regularly as her eczema is so severe. I also sprinkle ground hemp on her food and make smoothies with flaxseed oil in them which she calls her special pudding.

Thanks hopeful for starting the roll call, I was trying to read back through the thread to work out everyone's details but was getting a bit lost!

gumblossom · 14/01/2010 23:49

I added pics if anyone's interested.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 15/01/2010 06:08

gum, they're lovely. Your 16 year old camera shy?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 15/01/2010 06:32

Added one of me too. Until I get one with my new haircut, proper make up and my bra strap not showing.

hopeful45 · 15/01/2010 08:31

Hi everyone,
Thanks for helping me with the stats. Jemima--can you copy the list and fill in your info (correct my mistakes). Is no one as old as me!?!

Good to see Gum and ILGH. You're real then!

Gum - I loved the time travellers wife. The film didn't do the book justice at all. The only thing was I had to keep reading back to remind myself who, where and what was going on! I love anything to do with time travel and paradoxes.

Italiangreyhound · 15/01/2010 20:48

Hi all, can I join, please?

I have one dd, aged 5, conceived through IUI and have been ttc again since she was 9 months old.

Had a very early miscarriage 4 years ago (unassisted conception). Since then have had many failed IUI attempts and one abandoned IVF. Were told early on that donor eggs would be our best bet and we decided just under a year ago to go for it. I went on the waiting list in the UK and we are hoping to have treatment very soon (nearly had an attempt recently, that didn?t work out). This is our final attempt, unless we get any frozen embies (which is unlikely).

I'm 44.

Actually, quite excited now and looking forward to cracking on with the donor eggs!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 16/01/2010 07:45

Hi Italiangreyhound. Hope you like the board, you'll get lots of support and encouragement here. Seems like you've been through the wringer.

How long do you think you'll have to wait for to get a donor?

Italiangreyhound · 16/01/2010 12:26

Hi IloveGregoryHouse We are at the top of the list and the Co-ordinator is matching us now!! The whole process seems to take a few weeks as various wonderful kind women are options. They match on a number of criteria. I had hoped that it would be sorted this week but last week?s snow probably delayed things a bit as some places were closed or people not free. Note sure. We got to the top of the list last year but with Christmas etc it is all taking a while. It is not a quick a process but exciting! Thanks for your interest.

Frosticle · 16/01/2010 13:03

Hey KiwiKat we share a birthday!!!! Happy Birthday to us for Thursday! I'm a year older than you and my DD is just over a year and few months older than your DS.

gumblossom I agree. I'm very visually orientated and I find it hard to remember all the info about each one of us - who said what etc - without a face to attach it to. Until ILGH mentioned having the boys photos on her profile I didn't know about that facility either. In fact, I think I'm missing a lot of tricks on here -and elsewhere for that matter! Going to check out your pic in a moment......

Italian you've got me thinking about the whole donor egg thing. Hmmm

Hippy it's good to see your still here. Nice to get your updates!

hippychick66 · 16/01/2010 13:13

Yep still hanging about Frosticle.

Welcome greyhound, sounds like you deserve a break really soon. Good luck with the whole donor process.

Am still trying to find a photo where I look dead glamourous and young to add to my profile - (Hippy searches frantically but fails to find one ).

We told our 2 boys today that they are getting a baby bro or sis (we did mention the risks but tried to be honest whilst not scaring them at the same time.)

Great excitement from both. Showed them a picture on the internet of a baby at 8 weeks and the youngest (6) said it looked, "cute" haha that's one way of describing it I guess.

Good luck to all.

thefatladyscreams · 16/01/2010 17:03

Hi all and welcome to everyone new.

Great stories from Jollster and nappyaddict.

Happy birthday to Kiwi and Frosticle for Thursday.

Had a bit of a lousy week. Been in bed with a chest infection and my darling dog needs an operation next week to remove what looks like cancerous lumps. On day 25 here but not given it very much thought with everything else.

Glad to see the snow finally gone. Very weird when you read posts from people who are baking away or just come back from the beach!

Loving the photos but guard my anonymity far too much to post any. Are you sure you should both be on the ttc at 40 plus threads??? You both look too young

Updated the list with my details.

Oooh, thanks TFLS - lovely comment about my youthful look - airbrushing is great isn't it!LOL.If I could airbrush I'd be 4 stones lighter in the pic!
ILGH you DO look younger than your age.

Welcome to the newbies. We have a lovely bunch of support friends here.

I almost fell off my chair this morning when I put this morning's temperature into FF and it actually put in ovulation! What???I have been having a few twinges and my boobs have felt a little bit odd, but I thought maybe I was gearing up for it, not actually doing it! Of course this is the week my DH has been away, but I'm not too worried because I haven't had a positive opk (though I didn't do them everyday)and I'm not so sure about the temps - they still aren't that high, and it could drop again tomorrow.

Amazing how something like this can get me all excited! Here's a link my FF:www.fertilityfriend.com/home/186327

hairytriangle · 16/01/2010 23:03

Hi, I am new to this forum, I'm 42 in April, and am starting to TTC for the first time. I have a regular 28 day cycle, and definite signs of ovulation days 12-16 - stopped taking pill about four months ago and haven't taken any precautions since then. I have an appointment on Monday with doc to see if I can get blood tetst and progesterone tests done, any advice would be more than welcome.
Cheers.
