Any news from the front of the bus, lisa and all the other ladies who are near the end of their cycles?

I met a mum today and her three DDs. The eldest was 8yrs old and the youngest two (twins) were (about) 15mths old. Nothing remarkable in that....nor in the fact that she is 14wks pregnant....except that she is pregnant with

identical twins

Said the odds were 1 in 85,000!

SnowBunny1 I think I've just pissed myself (it's never been the same since DS was born) .

MrsRigby · 12/08/2009 21:12

Right then, I'm off to bed also as DH want's an early night. I don't know why as he only lasts 3 minutes, though for me it does seem that much more longer .

Might take the laptop up with me, it'll give me something to do to take my mind off what I'm doing.

Next time I might just have IVF, not as traumatic, he can just put it in a cup and the doctors and impregnate me .

sweetkitty · 12/08/2009 22:13

MrsRigby and Snowbunny will the two of you please stop, DP is looking at me funny as I am laughing at the pc and I have had 3 children my pelvic floor is on the floor ]

It's the opposite here, DP isn't one for quickies and likes to take his time but sometimes I just want to get it over with fast and get to sleep, sleep in our house is the holy grail. Plus the DDs have a radar any funny business going on here chances are one of them will wake up. Oh forgot to POAS tonight, nothing on this mornings well mid morning am dong two a day not to miss it. With DD3 I missed it thought I hadn't oved as was first proper cycle post mc, had sex (I am refusing to use BD) CD10 and 12, thought it was too early, CD14 and 15 we had neice staying with us put us off, thought no chance but there you go, the moral of the essay is you never know ladies it's a complicated business.

pigley - welcome to the thread would be fab if we both graduated together

Kaylo · 12/08/2009 23:25

Nancypreg Goodness me that mum is gonna have her hands full!

AF got me today - but on the plus side its only 8 days til I can start TTC!! I know I know...I got all confused with myself and thought this was the right thread but it wasn't - never mind.

Let the babymaking commence.....

Loujalou · 13/08/2009 09:37

Af has made appearance so am definitely on May bus now. Oh well we are off on a break for a few days then when we come back there won't be long til all the bd-ing again. At least fertile window not when we are sharing a room with our DS!

Everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant so maybe I will be next...

Loujalou · 13/08/2009 09:56

Sweetkitty - you are right we should use sex not bd. Do feel a bit silly writing bd.

You lot make me laugh. I think I am a bit down as it only took 3 cycles last time and this was cycle 3. And everyone seems to be getting pregnant even my childminder. So better get a move on. Think my hubby thinks I have gone totally dolally.

How are you all today? Had a panic when the website wouldn't work this morning. What has my life come to? Was going to try and wean myself off this site but it doesn't seem to have worked.

mampam · 13/08/2009 10:08

Hi all. Please can I jump on this bus?

My stats are:

Mampam TTC#3 Cycle 2 UCL??? CD19

Can I ask a quick question? When having a bit of nookie last night DH commented that my cervix was really soft and squidgy (sorry tmi!). I've read somewhere that this can be a sign of ovulation. Has anyone else(or their DH/DP's) noticed this when ovulating??

MrsRigby · 13/08/2009 10:53

Mampam is your husband a gynaecologist?

mampam · 13/08/2009 10:55

It would be quite handy if he was!!

We read somewhere that the feel of the cervix changes throughout a cycle so I guess he's taken note!

Bettymamma · 13/08/2009 12:28

i wish my dh was so observant when we're at it - I tend to think his mind is miles away...

I've just updated the list and included Mampam - hello! Hope i haven't mucked anyone up. There's lots of people at the top end of the list. Am i being dim/blonde but wouldn't that make you due in April - the more the merrier though, i'm not complaining .

So i've been out and bought some new clothes that are tight fitting and NOT suitable for pg women. This is a FOOLPROOF way of getting pregnant and has worked for me twice before. I thoroughly recommend it! (but keep the receipts...)

Morning all

Welcome mampam, I'd take soft and squidgy as a complement, mine says that I peck at him like a beak and can even put him out of action for a couple of days!!! He's such a romantic

Ocado delivery coming today inc hpt's - hopefully it's ++++ or I'm experiencing an extremely long cycle.

Loujalou I too had a panic this am when the site was down - to many of us with OMD (Obsessive Mumsnet Disorder) I suspect all trying to log on at the same time.

wow mampam I'm very impressed with your dh's knowledge of a woman's internal anatomy! I'm guessing that the vast majority of men would be flummoxed if you asked them to locate the cervix, never mind whether it was soft, firm, wet, fertile or not!

And how many men do you think walk amongst us who believe that women have, er, just two orifices instead of three?

OP posts:
mampam · 13/08/2009 14:20

I didn't even ask him to have a feel and see, he just came out with it, that that was how it felt!!

So he does pay attention to the things I tell him, cos it was ages ago I read about the soft cervix thingy!!!!

UmBongo · 13/08/2009 16:09

Bettymamma - I was hoping that works as I too was shopping for more jeans yesterday morning, and have also ordered loads of OPKs of ebay so hopefully that will mean that I won't need them!

Bettymamma · 13/08/2009 17:25

It does work i promise. I'm wearing a top today from last prepregnancy purchase. Act like you don't care and the preg fairy will catch you!

Nancypreg - i've met a couple of men like that...

Snowbunny - is there a helpline for OMD?

MrsRigby · 13/08/2009 22:08

Bettymamma I also subscribe to sods law .

NancyPreg it wasn't until I was 23 that a friend told me that women have 3 holes . She saw me keep taking my tampon out everytime I went the toilet and asked me why and then explained about the wee hole and the vaginal hole being seperate . I'll never forgive my mother or sex education for leaving that little detail out.

Anyway...

Last night was just pointless. DH and I had an early night and BD. Very traumatic as it lasted far longer than I wanted - 14 minutes . It didn't help that he was on top (it's got to be said I'm very lazy) and almost broke my ribcage, all day today my ribs have been a bit sore. Anyway DS just didn't want to sleep last night and started screaming not long after we had finished BD. The result was DH trying to calm DS, whilst I ran downstairs to grab a bottle of milk and sperm dripping down my leg (way TMI - so sorry), so uttely pointless last night. Just as well I'm already pregnant .

Wonderful, DS has started screaming again - ah, another good nights sleep awaits. He's 9 months today, surely he should be sleeping through by now? He goes to bed at 6pm, wakes up about 12/1am, has a bottle, goes back to sleep and then wakes up for good at 5am. Throughout this time he makes a lot of noise. What the feck is his problem???

Oh well, I'm going to grab an hour or two sleep before he wakes DH and I up.

Goodnight everyone.

sweetkitty · 13/08/2009 22:34

I am so tired today second day in a row I have been up before 6am, thankyou DD3. Normally I would have brought her into bed given her a boob and we would all have gpne back to sleep but am trying to stop BFing so have given up morning boob and the sleep/boob associations

MrsRigby - you time him pmsl, DD3 never slept through until a year so you have my sympathies

Beanmum - sorry your period started (since I am refusing to say BD I am refusing to say AF, it's not your fathers sister, it's a menstrual period so there) anyway have a nice glass of wine, loads of chocolate and pull up a seat in this lucky bus, start of new cycle

maybe we should go the whole hog ladies, pretend we really don't want to be pregnant, meet out other halves in a pub, get drunk, have a pretend one night stand and bingo hey we are knocked up

NancyPreg · 13/08/2009 22:57

MrsRigby are you for real !! I've been racking my brains trying to recall when I first knew about the number of female openings and I just cannot recall a pivotal moment...but I do remember an old ex-bf telling me that he 'just thought that everything came out of one hole' [duh].

I wouldn't be too gutted about last night because even if it felt like your dh's boys were all draining away down your legs, rest assured that a sizable quantity will have found safe harbour in your Pouch of Douglas

OP posts:
WickedWitchSouthWest · 13/08/2009 23:00

evening fellow passengers

well again I have no brain but I can remember worrying about mampam's dh taking notes about your cervix when dtd! My dh is most definitely not aware of my internal anatomy apart from the fact that he sticks it in and hopefully a baby comes out!

Bettymama it's a good plan! I've bought one of those lovely bandage body con dresses and a whacking great pair of heels for a wedding in October....foolproof! Plus I'm going on a hen weekend in Newquay in September, we're learning to surf!!! So that's my plan

sweetkitty another excellent plan. I might plan a night out with a couple of my single friends for a night on the tiles with cocktails and barmen to chat up (on their behalf obviously!)

Anyway, I'm CD19 of a cycle that's anything from 26 to 32 days. I ov'd cd16 I think so expecting a longer cycle. So I guess now we're into the sex for fun stage? Altho I have to say, after being at it every other day from CD3 and every day from CD13-17 I'm pretty shagged actually. Anyone else in 2ww?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 13/08/2009 23:03

pmsl at nancypreg and mrsrigby! you time your hubby! mind you I prob would if I had a clock on my side of the bed, but we swapped sides when dd refused to sleep thru til she was 15 months (sorry about dropping that info on you!) so now I have no clock to obsess at.

Beanmum · 13/08/2009 23:36

Sweetkitty - I'm absolutely with you on the abbreviations! Would rather call a spade a spade too - bd is a bit nauseating, and af just odd. I'm going to embrace shagging and period from now on - you've inspired me
