4everhopeful · 17/06/2009 10:16

Stands for Peeing on a stick ! Cant remember who came up with that one but it tickled me! Peas could be similar?!? Yea the nonsense has returned Dont forget the factor 30 whilst frying! xx

mermaidspurse · 17/06/2009 11:37

flouncing ahh barbies dh thinks we are all lovely what a charming young man

4ever morning hope you managed to get out in the sunshine yesterday and made the most of it cos its horrid down here today.

iggy still in limbo land you poor lady, maybe a trip to the dentist will scare af into appearing.

gracie hopefuly you are at the drs being given some miracle cure, you must be cream crackered and fed up.

curly must have nearly finished another exam so keep that ms at bay and will be thinking of you.x

lion glad you are blooming.

jools Hope the blood taking wasn't too bad, its another step forward

hoping you too I think you had tests yesterday, fingers crossed.x

oh yes neekothemissed will miss you lots, when I disappeared for a month or 2 in the autumn I came running back with a bfp so I am hoping this aslo happens for you and that unlike mine it stays super super sticky

off out to do lunch cos its half way through the week, best excuse we could come up with.

iggypiggy · 17/06/2009 11:39

barbie I agree with 4ever don't be we just glad you staying

I love all of our acronyms

Forgot dentist is free when you PG... Am assuming I am not at the mo.. but who knows unless AF turns up. I only have one filling - that I got when I was 21... so it's now falling out - which is why i have to go... so scary - I am such a wuss... I squealed when I had a blood test in Feb.

VJaybigpants · 17/06/2009 11:40

oh barbie I'm so glad you're not leaving us

iggy I'm off to the dentist today too, not looking forward to it, he was mean to ds last time, telling him off for not sitting still while I was having my check up. This time he want ds to sit in the waiting room by himself, so I shall tell him about his autism and the dangers of him doing that and hope he can sit in with me! All that to worry about before I even open my mouth!

mm hope your scan went well yesterday, I've been thinking about you.

Hi 4ever working hard I see

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 17/06/2009 11:40

mermaid Hello!

Enjoy your lunch - bit jealous...

VJaybigpants · 17/06/2009 11:42

hi mermaid

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 17/06/2009 11:42

bugger - keep x-posting with people!

vjay sorry you having to go too... and can imagine is worse with extra worry about your DS.

VJaybigpants · 17/06/2009 11:48

It will be fine, if anything ds's autism is teaching me is not to take any crap of anyone, especially stuck up dentists, which mine is, my old one was lovely but she moved, so it was the first tome we had him 6 months ago. Might me calling on the barbiemobile and the flicky hair chicks for back up later

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 17/06/2009 11:51

yep a wednesday lunch beats the dentist, my bank balance has only just recovered from going to the dentist the other day.
vjay at your dentists attitude. Are you feeling bionic yet?

ig good luck with the filling, its pants.
I expect a bloomin seagull will knick my pastie or something, thats what usually happpens when I do lunch

barbie you may flounce as much as you like! You are being really, really brave. I guess its your protective mechanism kicking in. So thinking of you.xx

hopingalways · 17/06/2009 12:02

if you're still looking for good news, all my blood tests came back negative, and the Dr said looking at the pattern of my Mcs we were probably just unlucky. And application of sods law is proceeding rapidly, DH finishes work on Saturday and then follows 18 months of me being sole breadwinner, while he studies for a postgrad 100 miles away. At the same time my temporary promotion is looking wobbly so my pay might get cut in half as of next month...oh and I crashed the car and can't afford a new one, so if we were to be expecting we couldn't guarantee he would be able to get back in time for the birth if he has to rely on public transport. As I am seriously rethinking whether we should be starting a family now or not that just about guarantees that child will turn up in March... sorry that doesn't sound like good news at all, but I'm choosing to see it as such.

barbie glad to see you're back, hope those that are lurking are still with us too!

mm1509 · 17/06/2009 12:34

Hi ladies,

Got my scan yesterday and all looks good measuring 11 weeks so EDD 5th Jan. Feels pretty real now and we were crying/ laughing when they said the baby had it's ankles crossed, DD always had her ankles crossed as a baby so she says "her baby looks like her". Had a moment when they were taking blood and I almost passed out, the doc and DH just got me to the bed in time before I went, I am not great with needles but it's been a while since that happened..................what a woos! Got another scan in two weeks but that's just because they want to double check the dates when I am between 12 and 14 weeks. Still on the anti-sickness meds but next week I can to try and reduce the dose to see how I get on, don't know where I would be without them.

barbie still can't believe how brave you sound hun, glad you are still on here, don't hold back and get it all out as you need to. DH is a wise man.................then again I knew that he married you.

vjay you go and put that dentist in his place hun, if only people would show some more consideration. Hope the iron tablets help, I needed them with DD and will am expecting to be taking them this time too, they do help.

mermaid hope you enjoy your lunch.

4ever your words touched me, you are so right about this being better than counseling, I don't know how I would have got through the last year without MN, finding all the lovely ladies on here has truely been a godsend. What you said about giving us hope, at one point that was the one thing I didn't have.............and here I am now starting to really believe again with my lo growing inside.

gracie hope your GP appointment goes well today, hope they can find out what is causing your pain.

jools hope you done better with the bloods than me, it's the next step to getting your lo.

neeko sometimes we need to take a break, I know I needed to step back a bit after my BFP, just to keep my sanity. We all have our own coping strategies just don't stay away too long.

iggie hope the dentist visit isn't too bad.

mollie and blue not too far behind you ladies, how are the bumps coming along[smiles].

Was planning on catching up with everyone but running out of time here fast but big waves to annie, kate, curly, sabs, lion, hoping, moon, baking, MLS, lbm, sophable sorry if I have missed anyone but preg head definitely going on here now.

Take care everyone mm xxx

VJaybigpants · 17/06/2009 12:43

Hi mm so glad your scan went well, it sounds like a very chilled out lo lying there with it's legs crossed

OP posts:
4everhopeful · 17/06/2009 14:12

Hey Missmermaid are you still out enjoying lunch? Those naughty seagulls better not of nicked your pasty! (Proper cornish no doubt YUM!) We'll get the barbiemobile out if they did
First tho is Vjay sure she doesnt want it for her donut of a dentist?! Just shout if you do! Iggy is probably there as we speak with white knuckles and sweaty palms! [sympathetic emoticon]
Hoping Im liking your strategy - that means you should get a bfp next month then
So pleased about your scan Mm a very magical moment no doubt.. Im also majorly scared of needles, you arent alone! Oh and honey you are one of the ones thats given me hope, in fact your last post especially! Every time I hear great news like yours I get warm inside, so keep it coming!

Joolsiam · 17/06/2009 14:38

Hellooooooo

Great news on the scan MM

and Barbie - what can I say ! Just soooo pleased you are not leaving us This thread just wouldn't be the same without you !

Mermaid - hope you are enjoying your lunch I went to a spinning class and then came back home to a weightwatchers veg quiche and gallons of salad ! I'm taking half days for hospital appts, as I don't want people asking questions - should be working now though Oh, and I have no problem with blood tests as long as I don't watch ! They took so much out of me last time though, and I was on a diet and had been there for hours without eating or drinking, so got a little wobbly then.

Hopeful - I didn't employ the law of sod quite so dramatically, but vividly remember posting on here a long list of why it wouldn't be good to be PG back in March I think - hey presto, a BFP appeared !! That one sadly didn't last, but it proves that Sods Law is a reliable concept !!!!

big wave to Neeko, hoping it is not goodbye

Iggy - is AF still AWOL ??

GG - I really hope the GP can sort out something for your pains

4everhopeful · 17/06/2009 14:48

Im a weeny bit stressed today. Iv said before that the last 2yrs Iv had redundancy hanging over the 100 odd people in my dept as they are moving the process to a call centre in Poland in oct luckily im only one doing what i do, so should be ok, but could be moved to west end & instead of 10min drive, would be 1hr commute. Well, just told we hear the outcome of our consultations on tues next wk. My hopeful plan is to be PG, & get GP to say I cant commute so must stay in local office, then go on mat leave & hopfeully things will be all settled when im back. Its alot of what ifs tho.. On top of that, have been fighting to get our windows re-installed for all of this yr, they were done 8 yrs ago & not supported, so now have structural damage! Big cracks in bedroom & front of house, top bay lowering onto bottom bay! Finally after battling for 6months they are coming next weds & thurs to replace them.. Lastly, but def not leastly, next wk I will be testing!!!! So after months, actually years, of being in limbo, its all culminating in 1 week!!! Everything is interlinked too, wanted to decorate front room but couldnt til windows done, but by next week when they are finally done, hopefully will have got that BFP, so wont be able too! Obviously work & PG is also interlinked. Its just mad that all these things Ive been desperate to get resolved come about next week. I just so want that BFP then nothing else will matter!

Sorry promised myself I wouldnt ramble today, its all so complicated! !

mermaidspurse · 17/06/2009 15:32

blimey I go out for a salad huffy face with lentils euch too much health mid week, where is a seagull when you need one!
and come back to all this good news and big events going on.

mm I have been trying not to worry about not hearing from you so its a big big hoorahhhh am so pleased for you. also good that you are not feeling so sick, apart from needle woozyness which you are allowed.x

hopeful mine all came back normal too and they say that is normal. It is a relief but in a way I felt I needed something wrong to fix and a label to use when I needed to understand.
Are you ok after your crash? and wobbly work? Think you may be right I can hear storks coming your way

jools Have you any more tests to be done now or is it just the long wait? Nice to hear you sounding up beat lovely lady.x

and roll on the drums I just opened the post and have a consultants appointment 2nd July. Longest round of golf this century.

4ever Oh my, everythng is coming all at once you are right. Well the decorating is ok cos you could use that ecological stuff without horrible chemicals in. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that all your marinating has been successful.
No getting stressed, strict orders there.

bluesatinsash · 17/06/2009 15:37

4ever - breathe, girl, breathe...

  1. Great news your windows are getting fixed at last
  1. Fingers and everything crossed you get your BFP next week
  1. If 2. above happens then work issues will pale into insignificance

so 4. to reiterate Really hope you get your BFP next week, I have a good feeling about this

MM - you are indeed just a kick off me and Mollie - we need to have a Glasgow rendezvous when we enter the blooming phase

barbie - my lovely, so sorry to hear it wasn't to be this time but you sound very philisophical and I agree with Jools - that it doesn't seem so 'hard' 2nd time around, not so much of a shock (although still v. v. ). You come and go as you like, you are our corner stone and it will be a red letter day when you first post piccies of your lo .

Neeko - totally understand where you are too, sometimes we just have to be in our own heads and even coming on here is too exposed.

Better go as sneaky post at work, to all and sundry x

Joolsiam · 17/06/2009 15:39

4Ever - this is Sods Law at work - lots to do, very busy, so BFP will come at the most inconvenient time You just wait - I know I'm right

Mermaid - all I have to do now is repeat the hormone / clotting etc blood tests as they wanted two sets done 6 weeks apart, so doing that in 4 weeks and hopefully will get another appt 2 weeks after that

I'm not convinced they will find much, as all the mc's were at different stages - surely that means bad luck rather than an underlying problem ? We'll see anyway - I feel better for at least doing tests !

Is it a recurrent mc appt you now have, after the longest round of golf in history ?

We are off to a pub quiz tonight We rarely go out mid week, but have had a spate of cinema trips etc, so have decided a mid-week outing is a healthy, relationship building thing to do.

4everhopeful · 17/06/2009 16:00

Thanks Blue for your list honey, you're right, nowt matters if BFP! Im breathing again! Tho still a weeny bit stressing about work mainly!

Jools glad you got stage 2 of bloods completed, BTW diff stages doesnt mean diff reasons, mine was 9w,9w13w,8w.. as Mermaid said to Hopeful, tho they say 'normal' is normal, I actually hope they do find something for you, the NHS found nothing with me either and said its 'normal' but honeys, 4 mc aint normal & aint just bad luck, how unlucky do you have to be ffs?! It is, as mermaid says finding a reason, then a cure, I hope you get one hon I really do! Enjoy your pub quiz!

Mermaid thank god your Golfer consultant finally got whatever injury golfers get and finally arranged that apt! Im so pleased! Did you ever have the Natural Killer cell test done? As I said to Jools inside we are all going 'this isnt just bad luck', & 'we are not normal' (!) so kick his ass, we'll be outside in the barbiemobile! Sorry about your lunch! Does sound a bit euew! xxx

Well another 7am start so hometime beckons!

Loves ya lots xxxxxxxxxx

Curlywurlee · 17/06/2009 16:22

YAYYYY barbie's back Hope you are doing okay girl. We missed you already so just as well you didn't stay away for long! I think you should take more than a week off, you need a proper break honey xxx

Jools How long will you have to wait for the karotyping results? Yay for even more weightloss, especially when boobs are bigger and it means even more Have fun at the pub quiz. We have one in our local but they ask such bizarre questions that we always come last (yeah we're rubbish )

Neeko I totally understand why you want to step away for a while. I was the same a few months ago, when I felt I had become this TTC monster, but after a short break I realised how much I needed the counsel of some very wise women. Anyway I hope you're not gone too long because I'll miss your lovely funny jibberjabber

Gracie I hope things are okay and you managed to catch up on some of the sleep you missed. How did things go with the GP? Hope he is as gorgeous as the dentist

sophable I hope you get that BFP, but make sure you write a list of reasons why it's good not to be preggers this month (they are usually alcohol related )

4ever I loved your posts about MN, you really are a special lady, except that you make us cry all the time, bad 4ever . I hope everything gets sorted with work, and the windows... and most importantly the BFP (for the twins ). What day is testing day?

mrskate hope the nights are going okay and you're not working too hard

iggy where is that AF? Have you tested again today? My AF cycle regulated after the first one which was a bit longer. In fact it got shorter than before. Hope the EW stays away How was the dentist?

Yay VJ for the iron tablets hopefully they will help!! at your stupid dentist. Poor DS, he's only little. Barbie how about you swing by my gaff with the barbiemobile and we'll head up to Scotland to sort out that stupid man with VJ

Mermaid I am rather about your tomatoes and chillies. I'd like to grow some but our city garden is a bit wee, and I think the foxes might eat them I know what you mean about people moving on in RL. People kept casually telling me about others having babies around my due dates. Meanwhile I'm screaming inside but just smile and pretend it's fine It's good that you have an appointment with the consultant

Moon are you doing any better today? The first couple of weeks are so tough, just when you start to feel okay, you lose it. We're here if you'd like a hug and a chat xxx

Annie how's the backache today?

Lion thanks for the group hug, I think we really needed it yesterday Have fun in Pisa if we don't see you before then

bakingqueen your posts are so lovely, I'm so glad you're on this thread, even if it makes you cry How much longer to go on your 2ww? You and 4ever and ginger are all around the same time, aren't you?

hopingalways your name is entirely justified... that is the WORST good news I have ever heard and yes, it's almost a cast-iron guarantee that you'll be up the duff before you know it

MM it's so lovely to hear from you and congrats on the scan Don't be a stranger and keep us posted on your news. You give me such hope

Blue it's good to hear you are doing okay. I loved the list for 4ever - good logic!!!

Well another exam over so can breathe again till Friday. And it seems that I have now developed a MS pattern, with some quality hurling action in the early afternoon but I seem to be fine in the mornings I'm taking a lot of comfort from the fact that it is much worse and earlier than last time

Big waves to everyone I haven't mentioned xxx

MrsKate · 17/06/2009 17:24

iggypiggy · 17/06/2009 17:27

v. quick one from me!

4ever v. accurate description of me in waiting room

Dentist was fine - filling was actually ok - whole appointment took 20 mins and I now am dribbling a little

For all you lovely girls that asked - still no AF! Test tomorrow do you think? Not hopeful tho...

Am off out to watch Oliver now... hoping Rowan Atkinson in it tonight! Big Waves!

GracieGirl · 17/06/2009 17:57

Afternoon ladies! Been to GP, he thinks its just general pregnancy hormones playing havock type pain and probably nothing to worry about. He's given me a weeks sick note and wants to see me again next week to check me over again. He says he's happy to give me more sick notes if I need them. He said A&E would cope without me and that I shouldn't worry about being off sick when I'm pregnant. What a nice man! So Mermaid no miracle cures but at least I can sit around with my feet up for the next week, and if I can't sleep at night then I guess that is what days are for! oh yes and Curly he's not as gorgeous as my dentist, I think he's old enough to be my dad!

Curly good to hear you've got into a routine with your "quality hurling action". So far mine is ok, just in the middle of the night or if I haven't eaten for 2-3 hours.

MM brilliant news about your scan!

Hoping good to hear all your tests came back normal. I hope you'll still get to see lots of your DH with him studying 100 miles away, else you'll have to teach his sperm to catch the bus to see you like I did! Or was it sperm ice cubes? That was the suggestion of the Emmsys girls as my DH works 70 miles away.

Iggy I'm relieved to hear you survived your trip to the dentist, I'm glad he's not as nasty as Vjay's dentist. If you have plenty of tests left then why not test again tomorrow.

Mermaid good to hear your appointment has come through.

4ever fingers crossed for a BFP for you next week so all your problems won't matter anymore.

Barbie peas??? what have peas got to do with it??

Jools enjoy your pub quiz!

Good walk MrsKate, I'm tired now so might go to bed! DH away so no one will know!
