Hold on, here we go again!

Hum,
Buzz,
Click click
Hum

Monitor blinks, glows
Processor thrums happily

Fingers fly across the keyboard
"Hi how are you?"
"I'm fine been waiting for you"
Smile spreads wide across my face

Her words appear slowly
Full of humor and warmth
A cyber smile, a virtual laugh
Silent yet I hear

Realizing it's time to go,
a somatic sensation warms me

"I hope to chat again soon"
"Till then good bye"

Click click
Buzz
Silence

I found this and thought of us!......

ahh thats really nice neeko thank you xxxxxxxx

cupcakefairy · 05/05/2009 10:01

Thanks for the welcomes everyone you are all so lovely.

Kate I totally second what Neeko said about your wedding- I was told to take 5 mins with my new dh just us on our own to take stock of the day cos it really does fly by.. and that memory really sticks in my mind of us just having a sneaky snog in a corridor at our reception and going 'this is our wedding day!' (and then we were interrupted by a waiter as I was showing dh my garter...haha!) Hope you have a lovely day.

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/05/2009 10:03

Neeko LOL at shallow

4everhopeful · 05/05/2009 10:07

Morning all! Im back! Hope you all had a good one, had a quick read, think i more or less caught up!

Sorry I missed your edd mermaid, hope you are doing ok? Read your post about your truce with your body, its such a personal & private decision, I fear I was a bit over zealous when you said it last time but Im secretly hoping it will happen for you when you stop thinking about! You cant leave tho! You will never be a smelly aunty, you will be our fairy godmother adorned in sparkles jewels, wisdom & wonder! Wiggle that wand baby!

Massive congrats mm! So happy for you hon, one of our old skool veterans! Sending sticky thoughts to you!

So glad you had a good scan annie - a teensy way to feeling more confident in all this eh?!

OMG you work with the swine flu man blue?!? Oh your very calm, Id be in self imposed quarantine! Its all freaking me out a bit tbh! Also, all good stuff about your scan, one day at a time, totally natural to be a big worry guts, we all will be!

Fab news about the nail spa job barbie, hope your past 1st day blues & settling into it now? Hope your throats feeling better too?

Welcome back to jools - I wrote little notes on my e-mail to keep up with you all, for you, i wrote 'stay slow'. That sums it up, mermaid is right, your bodys telling you to take time out so just chill! Hormones will be all over the place, go with the flow, we are all here for you sweetie..

So, on fri we arrived at The Portland at 8.15am & were whisked in for temps, bp etc then straight to the doc for DH pint of blood to be taken, he's a veteran donor, gives every 6 months so as he said, a walk in the park for him! Felt surreal seeing his blood in the bag! Settled up the £1000 outstanding with the secretary 'mad millie' who was actually quite sweet in person, then we did a real walk in Regents park, sunbathed on the grass as dh read the paper & went for lunch! Went back for my part at 1.15pm & I was pretty nervous, in morning doc said would be 5 needles & side effects could be fluey like symptoms! (great timing for that!) . Was all clammy & nearly broke DH hand squeezing it, 1st needle was in vein on inside elbow bit, the next 4 needles were 'subcutaneous' under the skin of lower inside forearm in a square pattern, he said these ones will sting a bit - OMG!!!! The pain was excruciating! It was like wasp stings, or when i got stung by a jellyfish! I couldnt look but David said my skin bubbled up & then could see it travelling down my arm in waves, he said it was like special effects from an alien film! My arm was so sore, felt like it was swelling twice the size & bleeding so we sat down for a while after & covered it up with tissue as was too wimpy to look at it then we had to travel home on tube & train with me clutching it up in the air! Sat on sofa feeling sorry for myself with arm propped on pillow all evening, DH cut up my dinner for me like a baby, & swapped sides in bed so wouldnt touch it! Yesterday was first day I could touch it, but its got massive red bumps like from stings, 2 have massive bruises but all worth it if it works!

On top of all that had another AF from hell, had to dash to every public loo on fri to check not coming through, tmi but am using pad & tampon & day 1-3 am coming through after an hour. Every few hours big cramps like mc, as I pass big clots, then ok for a few hours then again . Did ask doc if normal after multiple mc/erpc & he said yea but am a bit concerned, if hadnt done early tests would be convinced am mc.. Might check it out at docs. Had ultrasound in oct as part of tests & ultrasounds in jan for last pg but all ok so no cysts or endimotresis.. Was a real walking wounded all weekend, chilled out & did nowt so was lovely to be looked after by DH, just as im feeling a bit more me I have to come back to work!

Anyway sorry for the mega waffle! have drafted this in my e-mail so am not clockin up illegal surfing time at work! I'll be lurking! xxxxxxxxx

mermaidspurse · 05/05/2009 10:18

omg send this woman a bloody medal, several paracetamol and a bar of that special hotel choc none of us can afford anymore. 4ever you have been in my thoughts all weekend, don't worry, labour will be a walk in the park after that - I am lying a bit there but you know what I mean
Do you feel ok apart from the ordeal, flue like? Am so proud of you.xx
my acupp. dr talked about large clots it may be a good idea to investigate it sweetie, although it sounds like you have been investigated enough for one week.xx

GracieGirl · 05/05/2009 10:31

Morning all!

This AF is really heavy , though at least it timed itself nicely between the two weddings this week.

Jools I'm glad to hear you're back, take it easy, rest and eat chocolate, we're all here for you.

Blue so pleased you had a scan, naughty you for not telling us to let us worry with you!

Kate its perfectly normal to argue all week the week before you get married - I certainly did!

4ever, Mermaid is right you deserve a medal!! Sorry you're suffering with a heavy AF too.

MLS are you there????

Mermaid I didn't get far round Cornwall this time, my brother is an artist and was there for work, so he had the car and me and his girlfriend stayed in St Ives most of the time. We got a bus to Penzance and Truro on one day as my brother "needed" the new Bob Dylan album on the day it came out! I love Cornwall I've been there almost ever year of my life. My dad's an artist too so often gatecrashed his work trips too. My DH only made it to Cornwall for 2 days to see us but he has another exam next week so he spent all his time revising.

Scorpio I don't think I have the fertility of a 24 year old any more! BD'ing on day 14, 15 and 16 didn't work this month so I don't hold much hope with just seeing him on day 13 when I probably won't ovulate till day 17, I know there's a theoretical chance but I need to give it a better chance than that. I'm going to have to think of a plan to see him at some point during the week. Not quite sure how though as I'm on 12 hour shifts too, I'm going to need to do some major shift swapping and so is DH. I don't think DH will be up for that plan, he is really keen for us to conceive but he wants us to conceive by magic all romantically by accident like they do in films, not by shift swapping and planning sex. My answer to that can only be - it is not my fault you live 80 miles away, work every hour there is and never come home!!!!

GracieGirl · 05/05/2009 10:40

I do sound a bit grumpy today don't I ?!! I just don't want to completely waste cycles by not even seeing DH for the fertile week. I also really want Christmas off work. Any shift workers will understand this! I've not had a proper Christmas off since 1999!! I worked through last Christmas and New Year whilst pregnant and feeling rough, thinking its ok because I'll get next Christmas off with maternity leave. Little did I know!

mermaidspurse · 05/05/2009 10:47

gracie I think honey that you can sound as grumpy as you like - 1999!!!!!! we need to start a campaign now for gracies christmas
Blimey catching a bus to Truro must have taken you the best part of a week!

GracieGirl · 05/05/2009 10:53

Mermaid It was 2 hours each way to Truro, on a scary little bus with no suspension!!

Neeko · 05/05/2009 11:30

Well done 4ever. Sounds like you were really brave. I'm sure it'll all be worth it.

Gracie tell Dh if life were like a movie we'd all have massive houses and be fulfilled SAHM with about 6 kids who don't fight and no housework!. Sometimes the movie needs a little planning to get the action going Tie him down or phone in sick if you have to!

Hi to Scorpio and *mermaid8 Hope you're both doing well today.

anniecam38 · 05/05/2009 11:48

Morning, i feel full of beans today after my mammouth 12 hour sleep last night .
Neeko-I am still on top of the world after my scan, but the tiredness is crippling, im certainly not complaining cos ive only had it this bad in my succesful pregnancies (ie hopefully this one and DS before that).

Barbie-Hope you're having a better second day, your bound to feel like this, its like being the new kid at school, by next week you,ll be telling us how much you love it!!

Scorpio-One more week to go! Hope it doesnt drag for you.

mermaid-As both Neeko and 4ever said, you will never be the smelly old aunt in the corner, you are our Fairy Godmother, you speak such wise words. I hope now you have decided to no TTC, it will all come right for you.

4ever-Big respects to you, you deserve a medal as big as your poor swollen arm. I too am so proud of you, after everything you,ve been through things have got to work out for you. I,ll say a prayer for you, and a couple of my patients at work are nuns, i,ll ask them to pray for you too.

Gracie-Big hugs to you, you have the right to be grumpy. I really thought you would get your BFP this month. Ya boo to your DH working away during your fertile time, i second what Neeko says and phone in sick and travel to BD with DH, needs must and all that!!

Jools-Hope your poor throat is better. Good news that your cycle is getting back on track, fingers crossed for this month for your BFP.

Curly-Sorry it was a BFN, fingers crossed for next month.

Blue-So happy that your 'secret' scan went well.. I know exactly where you're coming from when you say you cant trust your body anymore.

Kate-Arguments with your DP leading up to the wedding are all part of the course by the way. Enjoy your wedding and your honeymoon.

Love to everyone.

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/05/2009 11:59

Gracie - i live in penzance, you should have said you were coming here!

cupcakefairy · 05/05/2009 12:06

Ooh, forgot to say earlier Neeko I saw you'd asked about temping further up in the thread and don't think MLS has been back to answer you yet...
We temperature chart. There's no way to actually pinpoint the day/moment the egg leaves your ovary but basically you're looking for a shift. You're most fertile in the first two days of temp shift, especially if it's along with EWCM (and you can only tell your peak day of CM retrospectively which is a bit annoying)
Just bd every other day as soon as you have any kind of fertile CM (more slippery, clearer)

VJaybigpants · 05/05/2009 12:19

Oh blue glad your scan went well, I totally understand your anxieties, just stay positive hun

For those of you that haven't tried the acupuncture yet due to needle phobias, when I had my reflexology done last week the lady says it uses the same 'lines' as acupuncture, so that might be a different route to explore, and I did read that it can help with infertility etc.

Can't believe it's Tuesday already, where is this week going? Hope you're all having a nice day

4everhopeful · 05/05/2009 13:02

Aww thank you for my medal & choccie mermaid also Gracie my fellow heavy Af sufferer! Annie tears stung my eyes when I read that you'd pray for us & ask the nuns too as well! thats so so sweet & lovely of you! We need all the help we can get! A friend of my aunts had some nuns she asked to do special prayers for us & it means the world to know people we havent even met are wishing us well! Its truly a beautiful thing im very touched.. xxxxxxxxx

Neeko · 05/05/2009 13:07

I can second what VJay said about reflexology as I know a couple of women who were struggling to conceive and did after a few sessions. No one rond here would treat me when I was pg with DD. Don't know why?

Cupcake Thanks for the temping info. I did some practising before my AF came and my temp was much higher (97.7-97.9) and dropped suddenly on day of AF which I thought was a good sign. Since last week I have a bit of a wobbly line but all between 97.0 and 97.3 so I think that's ok? Is it supposed to be the same on subsequent days and do you have any tips for how to keep it accurate? I use it orally as not comfortable about the other ways

P.S. noticing how regular my posts are. i am an addict!

Joolsiam · 05/05/2009 13:25

Oooh 4Ever - sounds painful, but SO worth it
GG - I was in St Ives last November for my birthday and loved the place, especially as it was so quiet at that time of year Not sure I can bear to go back though, as that is where the MC started We are thinking of staying somewhere near Padstow this Autumn instead

Mermaid - I did lots of lying down and choc eating yesterday afternoon - had the most awful headache and couldn't tolerate light or noise Bit better today but stayed off sick - better cos I took Ibuprofen but wouldn't let myself until I'd tested and seen that BFN - paranoid that I am !

Saw GP this morning - am now awaiting the choose and book paperwork for referral to a recurrent mc clinic - any recommendations anyone ?? She also thinks I may have thyroiditis and I've been for blood tests this afternoon. That is an auto-immune disease and potentially the mc cause, so I'm kind of hoping that this is confirmed cos then I'll have a PLAN

Back later - still can't spend too much time at the PC without my headache coming back

4everhopeful · 05/05/2009 14:11

Hey jools your gp sounds v good! Glad he is referring you, whereabouts are you? Its often immune issues that are the key to recurrent mc - its so awful they wait for us to have 3 before investigating but at least they are now! Check out the link to my NHS specialist LINK see the causes PDF. Good for all us girlys with 2 or more RMC..

4everhopeful · 05/05/2009 14:13

If it dont work try THIS & click relevent links..

cupcakefairy · 05/05/2009 14:23

Neeko yes the temp is supposed to drop on day af starts. If it stays high til day 42, you are pregnant.

At the start of the cycle (what we NFP-ers call 'phase 1') it won't be the same every day, no. Mine is usually wobbly like yours but then get a definite shift around day 18. Are you actually charting it, as in a line on a graph type thing? Cos then when you look at the whole cycle you should be able to see the shift even if the temps before it are all over the place. FWIW mine also goes up to between 97.7-97.9 like you so hopefully we're fine!

As for accuracy, I temp vaginally every morning...I didn't for the first year of doing it but then was recommended to as it is much more accurate (mouth is very changeable if you are ill/ dehydrated etc) I know, I found it really icky at first but now it's totally normal...I could never do it the other way though
Also, do you have a basal digital thermometer? They are slightly more accurate than a regular one.

Sorry...long temp waffle!

Neeko · 05/05/2009 14:46

Hi Cupcake I bought a special thermometer off e-bay (as recommended by MLS ) so I think that's ok. I am using a paper graph because my memory is like a sieve and I'd never remeber my temps otherwise. I'm actually finding the whole thing very interesting. thanks for your advice.

mermaidspurse · 05/05/2009 14:48

jools oh your poor head - good news on the PLAN though and am keeping my fingers very firmly crossed.x

4ever you always have such informative links

blimey where has the day gone? treated it like a Monday and eaten donuts and not done any much work.

mermaidspurse · 05/05/2009 14:50

neeko reckon we all have the same one! mines stil virginal though cos I keep forgetting

GracieGirl · 05/05/2009 17:45

We're all very quiet for the last few hours, is that cos Barbie's too tired after work and MLS has run off somewhere....

We need an up to date list creating I'll see what i can do.
