Hi All,

Hope you like our new home!

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 19/07/2009 10:57

oh, and re the swine flu - although bothered, I know I'm fit and healthy and I don't have time on my side, so will continue to TTC.

I'm lucky in that my firm has moved out of London and opened up regional offices - one is in my home town, so I now walk to work - heaven ! I may consider actually working from home aswell - it is entirely possible with the work I do, albeit a little isolating.

C1NDY · 19/07/2009 12:34

Jools Ditto with you on Swine Flu. I am not cancelling my plans even if this gets out of control. I have the option to work from home so as soon as I have that BFP then I am going to suggest for me to work from home until the Swine Flu clears up.

Thinking of all of you testing and baby dust to all...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have started the bd fest but DH has a high temp so we decided not to bd last night (hoping it is not Swine Flu.. but that is just my luck for it to get in my way!!!)... I still have today and have woken up curled my hair and am looking yummy .... anything to get him in the mood, even if he is feeling yukky... why is it that darn illnesses pop up over the most crucial week??? But ssssssssh don't tell DH I am on my mission and what Cindy wants she gets

Is everyone OK? Hope so. Sounds like lots and lots of frustration at the moment.

It's the same here - I'm now on CD 43 and got another BFN on day 40. My normal cycle length is 25 days. I've given up on the tests for a while!

I've just mowed the grass in a bid to make something happen - our garden is on a v, v steep hill. Nothing so far.

I wonder at what point I should go and see the doctor. I'm putting it off because I don't want him making me feel like a neurotic fool.

I've never been pregnant, so don't know what I might be feeling like - but to be honest, I feel no different to normal. My DH thought he could see more blue veins than normal on my norks but he may be a bit deluded.

I'd be v happy even to see AF - anything to move out of the current limbo.

Hope there's some good news brewing for someone on this thread!

Joolsiam · 19/07/2009 17:16

Daisydot - it sounds like life is more frustrating for you than most I think you are right in waiting a bit before seeing the GP - they would probably only tell you to wait anyway !

A couple of not so obvious pregnancy symptoms you could look for - hair stops shedding - ie virtually none on the brush, hair starts growing a lot faster - need to do underarms a LOT more often and (ahem) - with the increased blood flow down below, your bits look darker - more purple !

I've been through my FF charts obsessively and concluded that, after the first brown staining, AF normally arrives up to 48 hours later. So, have got to wait till around 9.30 tomorrow before she is officially declared late This afternoon, I've felt incredibly hormonal - crying at Star Trek, no energy, craving high fat, high carb foods and just generally vegged and felt miserable. Could the hours go any slower !!

OnlyWantsOne · 19/07/2009 18:24

incredible painful cramps on my left side, feels like some thing is about to explode.

My temp was 36.3 this morning again, but I dont know what it was prior to ovulation as have only just temping.

Hope you are all well - C1ndy, did you get your own way yet today?

daisydotandgertie · 19/07/2009 18:47

Jools - I recommend cutting the grass in the rain (petrol mower of course) for a distraction. It took bloody hours and was v hard work.

I then whiled away another hour or so poking our broody chicken to see if she's managed to hatch any eggs yet!

Amazing how much time I've managed to waste while distracting myself!

OnlyWantsOne - it's sounding very positive for you; the hormone surges may be what affected the OPK.

Our temps are identical at the moment - not a clue what that means though!

OnlyWantsOne · 19/07/2009 19:23

daisy - so there is a chance that I could be PG?

even though DH and I havent BD since the 14th??? Surely 2 weeks on I would get a positive result?

Im really bloated and uncomfortable, my normally flat tummy looks about 4 months PG, I actually have a hard bump (which my mother so kindly remarked on earlier how kind)

Whilst bathing DD I remembered, I had this when I was PG with her, I think it was all gas and lasted two or three days - could this be a sign?????

When should I test again? Or wait for AF?

daisydotandgertie · 19/07/2009 21:45

OnlyWants - well, it sounds really hopeful to me. I'm no authority, but all the symptoms you describe point in the same hopeful direction. Where's your bump?

I'm definitely not any good on how long it takes to get a positive HPT - I'm now 24 dpo and no sign of anything useful at all. I have read you can be as much as 8 weeks pg before you get a positive HPT.

I'd try waiting for a week before you do another test.

I don't think I'd last that long though .

yellowflowers · 19/07/2009 22:49

Hi all - how's everyone doing?

I am now about cd 11 so need to start the bd. Have also forgotten to take temp for three days running! I've had very odd feeling nipples this weekend - def could describe them as 'fizzy' - but as I had very heavy period with severe cramping so recently and not had sex sine there is no way I am pregnant.

Joolsiam · 20/07/2009 08:41

BFN on First Response this morning. I wasn't sure if AF was due yesterday or today, but am now assuming she is arriving today.

I still have loads of symptoms, but can only assume that I must have some kind of bug I hate the way our bodies deceive us I had a few days over the past fortnight where I actually allowed myself to imagaine being PG

yellowflowers · 20/07/2009 09:41

oh no jools - i'm sorry. Still maybe too early though.

engelbart · 20/07/2009 09:46

[bfn] joolsiam, disappointing doesn't really cover it does it?

Good luck for the forthcoming bding yellowflowers, hope you get lots in!

9 days til AF due. Last month I had terrible stomach cramps during the whole 2WW and was worried something major wrong. This month has been OK so hoping that was a one off. As usual my left boob aching which is always a sign for me that I'm NOT pregnant. Sigh.

engelbart · 20/07/2009 09:47

sorry that should have been at your BFN Joolsiam, you can tell I haven't woken up properly...

Vikks · 20/07/2009 10:13

Joolsiam ? Sorry to hear about your test. We all know what that feels like, especially when you?ve had a good feeling about the month.
Engelbart ? Fingers crossed for you, you?re still 9 days away?.

I?m CD19 today and as usual I think I?ve not ovulated again! I?ve been taking OPK tests for a week (all negative) and my temperature has been going up for the last 3 days? What do you think?

engelbart · 20/07/2009 10:34

Vikks have you tried the clearblue fertility monitor? This is more sensitive than the OPK tests I think. I'm biased as I've been using one for the past 3 months. It tells you if you have ovulated, when you're due to ovulate etc. It takes away any doubt ie whether you've ovulated that month.

Vikks · 20/07/2009 11:16

Thanks for the advice Engelbart, I?ve just ordered one! We?ll try anything?.right? Sounds pretty good, I was just about to order some more OPK sticks anyway so I?ll give the Clearblue a go. Have you got to start using it at the beginning of a new cycle?

I?m having surgery on Friday, so I?m pinning my hopes on that getting me ovulating properly, I guess I?ll know now with the new kit! x

Oh Jools - I so know how you're feeling! I'm sorry about the test; but it may well be too early. For as long as there's no AF, there's still a glimmer of hope.

I'm on CD44 now ... and still no sign.

When should I brave the doctors? I really, really don't want him to make me feel like an over-reacting, ageing loon.

iggypiggy · 20/07/2009 14:05

daisydot as you say - while no AF there is hope! Some people don't get positive test for a while do they?

I know what you mean about not knowing if you are or not because you haven't ever been. That was what I was like - in fact I definately didn't think I was PG back in Feb and the BFP was actually a shock (even though had been trying and ont his thread ) Sadly I had a MC - which has made me over analyse every little sign every month since then..

Is your cycle ever strange normally?

C1NDY · 20/07/2009 14:12

Hi testing... laptop has crashed, so am on another PC

OP posts:
daisydotandgertie · 20/07/2009 14:17

Iggy - No it's always been reasonably predictable. Always between 25 and 27 days, quite short and straightforward.

Since I've been temping, ovulation has been really clearly indicated between day 13 and day 17. This month it was on day 19.

The certainty about ovulation has taken a weight off my mind - at least it's happening! And although the miscarriage in April was sad, it has set my mind at rest to an extent in that at least I have proof everything is working as it should.

How soon did you get your BFP in February?

I honestly don't think I am pg this month, but wish I could find out for sure so I can get on with the next attempt.

C1NDY · 20/07/2009 14:19

Okay, I think this is working... Hi All, I didn't get what I wanted but am going to try tonight... all is not lost.. I will ovulate on Thursday so if I can get some bd in until then then great.

I am not feeling good today... I am worried it may be the mild swine flu.. have a heavy head and feel like am getting a cold, am very tired and have had a feel tummy cramps. My DH has had a temp yesterday but touch wood is feel better today. I am not sure whether to continue or wait to see this flu out. I work in London so its a worry to think that I may have it? will need to ring doctors tonight.

Hope your all well and speak to ya soon
Cindy

That's odd isn't it... maybe go to doctor? Although I guess there isn't much they can do...

That's a good way of looking at MC... My MC was April too.

I was CD 29 of a 27 - 30 day cycle.. so quite fast.. although did get a BFN on CD 27 I think... Not sure which day I ov'd for sure - but think was CD15 - so was 14 dpo..

It's the waiting that is so frustrating..

Am going to try opks this month.. have decided!

C1ndy hello!
