Lovely photos Sparkly The 4D scan is amazing and we were stunned to see the ressemblence when Elise arrived. It sounds stupid, but you know what I mean! I used the big scan picture we chose to focus on during labour
Fruity Good luck with the dress hunt - I would look in Monsoon too if Coast don't have anything suitable. Next also do a couple of "occasion" dresses and their sale starts on Saturday. Can't think of anywhere else at this late hour.
Lola I think I would have peeked as well Hope he's come up with the goods!
Must go to bed - disturbed night last night so hoping tonight is better. Night all!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/07/2009 22:17

Hey guys. I've turned my phone off. No offence, but can't answer anymore 'has the baby arrived texts'.

Had contractions on and off all day yesterday. They stopped when I went to bed last night. Woke up this morn and they started again. Pretty sore. Enough to stop me from walking (was in park with DD2). Got home about midday and had lost rather large mucus plug. Ugh. Contractions have been going on and off since 5pm every 10 mins. Pretty painful. Got DH home as thought this was finally it. Still contracting but have got no worse.

Am going to bed now as rather tired. Mum here to look after the girls. Just hope to god that somethig happens tonight as can't take much more of this. I'll break my own damn waters if I have to. Just can't beleive that this has gone on for soooooooo long.

Next time I brag about having short labours, someone kick me up the arse.

Lots of love to you all. Please send me some FULL ON labour vibes. xxxxxx

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 23:11

FULL ON labour vibes coming your way as requested Miss Georgie, here's hoping for a productive night for you! Lots of love back xxx

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 23:16

Fruity love the new name! I'd look in Monsoon too, they seem to have had gorgeous stuff in their window every time I've walked past lately, have almost been glad (for mr credit card) that there's no point me going in there! What's their website like? Will look tom. What colours do you like yourself in?

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 23:23

Fruity was it you who liked the name Beau? It's a SIGN!!! Look!

SparklyPseudonym · 17/07/2009 09:59

Morning all,
Late night last night trying to figure out how to copy the 4D DVD - no luck yet. I'm hopeless at these things.
Georgie I turned my phone off at about 10 days overdue and didn't turn it back on until she was born 5 days later. People started turning up at the house to find out what was going on so I ignored the door . Am really hoping things kicked off during the night for you. Lots of love xxxx
Cricri That's a lovely idea to have a pic to focus on during labour. Did it help?
Fruity How is C today? Will pop over for a peek on that thread now.
Bella The scan was great thanks. Would love to go again but we have a mortgage to pay .
Lola I don't have a watch, never mind an automatic one . Stop snooping. x

SparklyPseudonym · 17/07/2009 10:01

Forgot to say - consultant last night wanted me to book in with the MW today. I'm getting pain when I'm walking and she thinks it might be SPD. Also, when I roll over onto my side to get up something pops out of my tummy under my ribs (and it's def not baby) so she thinks it might be a hernia.

BuddhaBelly · 17/07/2009 14:21

Hopefully you've all worked out who I am now

Georgie Sending you bucket loads of full on labour vibes, fingers crossed the next post tomorrow morning will be from you and your new little girl
Lola Naughty girl snooping! I would definately have opened it, I'm so crap at surprises, as a child I used to find and look at all my christmas presents!
Scully I hope you and your gorgeous little boy are settling in well? Have I missed the name yet?
Piper Lovely to hear from you, have you posted any bump pics yet?
Bella Will have to find you on FB for some reason I haven't before How's the back?
Fruity How is C doing? Love the new name
TeeHee Very impressed at your swimming outing I think that's something DH will be doing with ours!
Sparkly Get your pics on! Have you booked your appt yet? I have such wierd visions in my head of things popping out all over the place Seriously though hope everything is OK

Well my drama this week has been work, after my worries on Monday re swine flu, I have had several people coming in on a daily basis who have been diagnosed and taking antivirals for it, but still come in before the 5 days quarentine is up, I can understand they think it will affect their money if they don't come in but the stupid people are just spreading it! I wasn't happy having to see them as I'm sure you understand, but management wouldn't do anything without medical advice. So had a mw appt on Weds (heard HB again this time it was so loud I loved it ) she wasn't happy about the exposure and advised me to to talk to GP. Long story short, GP has written note to state I need to avoid public contact as my interviews can last up to 40-60 mins, work have now moved to our screened room. It's like a prison, I don't see anyone apart from the customers, I normally have a "special" desk due to neck and knee problems that I have but all of a sudden its fine for me to be on a narrow straight desk not designed for full time use We've now got our first 2 members of staff that are now off sick with swine flu too, poor girls are feeling really awful bless them.
Other than that not much to report, lots of fluttering today, I love it

teeheelaydee · 17/07/2009 17:49

Buddha Fluttering, aaah how brilliant. I was only thinking yesterday that I can hardly remember what it felt like to be pregnant (although I do know that mostly it felt rubbish). Sounds like a nightmare at work. It's amazing how management SAY they will be supportive until they have to actually BE supportive.

Sparkly Don't know much about SPD but it sounds horrid. How disabling is it? Have you been googling like mad? Checked out your FB photos of L and she is a proper girly girl, so cute and the littlest of the dancers. I wonder if DS will be a proper little boy?

Georgie Hope all is going OK. Can't wait to hear your news. I can also vouch that long labours are the pits - mind you I have nothing to compare to - must be worst when the others have shot out in 4 hours.

Scully v'impressed with the support you're getting from the hosp. Hope everything is going well. Any name yet or is he still little boy Scully?

Lola Well, did you look? Come on you can confess to us. We love you and won't judge you for snooping

Fruity Love the new name - updates on the dress please.

I am enjoying a baby free half hour as DP is off out (again ) so is here with his friend having drinks and baby watching. I've still not arranged that 'me' time but as DP is off for the next 6 weeks I'm sure I will get plenty.

BellaHarry · 17/07/2009 18:47

sparkly about suspected hernia, but at your gorgeous picies of bubba 2! love the thumb sucking! V cute.

Georgie really hope things have progressed for you now...have some belated vibes.......

Buddha please do search for me, I'm K Turner. Back is still twingy but not crippling

I've had an eventful evening so far, went for my routine mw apt (38 wk) at GP surgery and was told BP was up so sent to hospital; they monitored me and baby for 3 hours but wasn't terribly high and baby hb fine so sent home. I have to call at 9:30 to get blood results then may need to stop over if pre-eclampsia but unlikely as other symptoms absent. While I was being monitored however I was having mini contrations every 5 minutes! Very interesting! But as I was told baby is in dodgy position likely to cause 'back labour' (ouch) not so keen on giving birth tonight ...now on all fours just in case!! 3 doctors/mw examined me today and each one said 'baby is a healthy size'....basically telling me she's big right?! Oh dear

Fruityjuice · 17/07/2009 22:01

Evening

haha Sparkly Poor you not likely to be having a teeny weeny 7lber. I think 8lb+ is about average these days anyway. Most of my RL friends have had babies 8lb+ Most have had 9 - 9.5lbers.
One gave birth at home to a 9.5lber with no trouble, although doesn't say much for her bits
BTW, Jack looks nothing like his 3d scan pics and didn't when he was born either (I don't think so anyway) but then again I had the scan at 26 weeks and a lot can change in that time.....
Interested to know what's popping out of you!

teehee that dress idea is fantastic, really like their wedding dresses, very simple and elegant. Probably wouldn't choose for the actual wedding but they look perfect for the official bit
I also love Lola's "Beau" choice!
cricri I'll look in Next but their stuff is so weirdly sized don't you think? Not sure what they model their clothes on

Georgie Don't blame you for turning your phone off. I'm sending you +ve labour vibes and hoping you are pushing right now!!

Buddah I know it's you, I originally thought it was bella cos of the belly bit - similar to the word bella
C's fine now and has been really most of the week, just didn't want to take any chances as he'd been in contact with my friend's "suspected swine flu" little boy. It was the sore throat that worried me and the night sweats, especially after reading about the child that died 48hrs after sore throat
By the sounds of it, I'm not sure there's much getting away from the dreaded Swine right now. All the schools except C's has had lots of cases. I'm sure it's more widespread than we think, it's just that most people get it quite mildly. Maybe C did have it for a couple of days but really mildly - he never gets ill so must have quite a good immune system. It's because he never washes his hands and eats off the floor
Aww, those flutterings are wonderful aren't they? So reassuring

Bella hope everything's ok. You certainly do not want back labour. I had this with C - seriously ouch! Imagine, your spine is about the snap in half, that is what it feels like. I will never ever forget that pain, I don't care what anyone says!
"Baby is healthy size" does not mean "big" just means not too small and not too big. They will never know how big baby is until she comes out so stop stressing woman!!

My diet has gone to pot this week. Had chips on Weds and have just demolished two large slices of chocolate cake and a lump of divine, posh, organic (so must be healthy) white choc with cranberrys (mmmmmmmmmmm)
I need to snap out of this, I was doing so well
exactly 5 weeks to the hen weekend in Milan and exactly 9 weeks to the wedding weekend
Haven't even sorted bridesmaid dresses yet

scully · 18/07/2009 05:20

So no baby Georgie, yet? Must have happened by now, with all those symptoms? Haven't been near the computer in 3days, a record for me I think
ds is feeding much better now and has the hang of waking up 3ish hours between feeds, without us having to wake him up. dh is more tired than me today, I got to sleep by 9.30pm and the baby woke me up about 3am, so had a nice amount of consecutive sleep. dh stayed up with ds and gave him his late feed before coming to bed around 12am. So he's now having an afternoon rest & I'm catching up on here I'm still expressing 90% of his feeds, he has 1, maybe 2 formula feeds a day, the rest is my milk. It's a hassle, but I will put him back on the boob next week sometime, when they've had longer to heal. Have to say though I love being able to share the feeding though, with dh and dd1, so it's not just me stuck to the sofa for 20hrs a day. Ok if it's your first baby but with other children to look after, it's been nice to share it.
How's the dress shopping going Fruity? I thought you already had one?
Love the scan pictures Sparkly
Hope you don't catch anything Buddha, how useless are your mgt though, not taking any precautions for any of their pregnant staff, or anyone else who falls into an at risk category.
I still have the cold I had before ds was born, it is sapping any energy I do have left each day. Have ventured out with dh and ds for an hour or 2 the last few days and that has been my limit, have need to come home afterwards. Nice to get out of the house but can't manage much. Don't remember being this drained after dd2, must be old age and the cold
For the first timers, it's definitely true what they say about getting the baby used to noise and they won't know any different. ds sleeps in his bouncer chair in the lounge during the day, with the dd's carrying on around him, the tv on (or the Hannah Montana cd the other day), me yelling at the dd's, all the usual noise, and if he's not hungry, then he sits there and looks around, or sleeps
Oh, and we have a name. Connor No 2nd name yet, still working on that one.....

scully · 18/07/2009 05:30

Sparkly
DD was born 15 days after EDD
Induced birth - Prostin pessary, waters broken, syntocyn but natural delivery after lots of pushing out back on back baby.
Pain relief - Gas and air. Bullied into having an epidural placed at about 8cms because consultant thought her bum was engaged and I'd need a section. They didn't top it up though or I'd have been pushing for 5 days.

Fruity
DS1 - 12 days late - induced 18 hour labour, ventouse, forceps, emergency c-section
Gas and Air (what a load of old sh*t)
Epidural (fantastic relief fom a terrible back labour but couldn't push properly so wouldn't advise unless you think it is absolutely the last straw)
DS2 - elective c-section so doesn't count.
Spinal tap block.
Probably would have been very late like C (if you remember, I added two weeks to my due date before I knew about c-section)

Teehee
2 days over due date, although waters broke on due date and unassisted delivery. No stitches. Pain relief - TENS (Teehee smiles smugly whilst ironing her SAS soldier uniform! wink)

Cricri
3 days after EDD (although had hindwater leak the day after EDD following a sweep)
8 hour labour, 4 hours pushing (2 at home, 2 in hospital), syntocyn, episiotomy, ventouse delivery

Scully
dd1 - emergency c/s (breech) after going into waters breaking and going into labour 8days early
dd2 - vbac, TENS, gas and air, stitches, 7hr labour
ds1 - vbac, gas and air, no stitches, 4hr labour

Yippeeeee for both our recent graduates! Bella you're next!!!!

cricri · 18/07/2009 13:20

Congratulations Georgie Wonderful news! Love the names too - welcome little Flora Beatrice.
Scully Love the name Connor as well I'm so pleased his feeding has improved and it sounds as though he's quite alert when he's awake watching the circus going on around him!
Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend

Fruityjuice · 18/07/2009 14:22

Hooray for georgie!!! Welcome to the world Miss Flora Beatrice Congratulations to the Georgie household and well done you Georgie xxx
I hope to be popping over soon for a big newborn cuddle xx

Gorgeous name scully, so pleased he finally has a name

I'm off out tonight for a 30th birthday.
So far this morning I've taken C and J to gymnastics in Tooting, brought them home, went back to Tooting to get legs waxed, went to Morden to pick up authorities for wedding, on to Wimbledon to exchange some shoes (then realised I'd left them at home) on way home made a pitt stop in New Look, TK Maxx and the madness of the Next Sale (what a load of crap - big jumble sale). Now at home and deciding what on earth I'm going to wear tonight. We're going to Kensington for a meal then probably on to Covent Garden for drinks and I can't bloody wait. I have no idea who anyone is except the b'day girl so who knows what it'll be like...........

mibbes · 18/07/2009 14:50

Hi ladies - sorry for absence but we have been on holiday in a cottage which was so remote that there was no TV or radio reception, never mind anything as advanced a tinternet !! I have sooooo much to catch up on

scully congratulations ! MN photos are lovely, he is a wee corker . Am very at speedy delivery, well done you ! Glad the feeding is improving. I also expressed initially - DS finally latched on at 10 days old. Like you say it is good to share the feeds even though expressing is a pain. I LOVE the name Connor - it would've been on my list had a friend not 'nicked' the name while I was PG

Georgie WOOHOOOO congratulations - she has finally arrived , what a lovely name. Bet you are glad it is all over, look forward to seeing pics.

Bella I'd defo steer clear of sticking anything up there... YOU'RE NEXT !!!!

Sparkly PMSL at DS falling out ! Love the scan pics and am so glad you are so upbeat, sounds like you are enjoying being PG

Lola loving 'pelvic floor remaining intact' Hmmm I have to say I think I would've taken a peek.... have you looked yet ?

Buddha it took me a while but am with you now ! That is rubbish about exposure to flu but fab about fluttering - I miss that so much, it is such a special feeling - enjoy

Fruity love the new name and that Beau dress Lola pointed out is stunning.

teeheelaydee · 18/07/2009 15:39

Big congratulations to Georgie and Mr Georgie and all the little Georgie's on the arrival of Flora. Can't wait to hear all the details and how things are going. Anyone know if she's home yet?

Love the name Connor Scully and sounds as if things are settling well. Your DS will have to get used to noise with 2 older sisters I think. Sharing the feeding is lovely and I'm with you, find pumping a chore but still do a bottle a day so that DP can share and I can get some decent hours of sleep. Must be so lovely that DD1 is old enough to help, almost makes me feel quite emotional imagining it .

Hi Mibbes nice to see you. Was it lovely to be away from civilisation or did you slowly go crazy. Nice holiday?

Fruity Any success with the dress. Loved the Lola one too, I also noticed a strapless white with pink flowers which I thought was rather weddingy. I also love this, saw it in the shop and almost made me want to get married!

mibbes · 18/07/2009 15:45

mibbes
DS was born 3 days before EDD (missed being 4 days early by 20 mins !)
2 rounds of prostin gel then emergency c-section due to no waters being present, DS heartbeat dropping to 60bpm when contracting and cord round his neck.
TENS machine used but I am no hero - I only had about 2 hours of contractions which were apparently only 'very early labour' OUCH !

BellaHarry · 18/07/2009 15:53

BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS Georgie!!!! what a relief that must be for you!

OMG I am officially next! had some interesting mucus like stuff (sorry )today and still having regular bh and have back ache so things are obviously moving in the right direction!

Scully lovely name
Hello everyone else and thank you for continuing to add to the birth details, really interesting reading. x

mibbes · 18/07/2009 15:53

Hi teehee, you booked any 'me-time' yet ? I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and hair every 5 weeks to ensure that I have an afternoon off at least once a fortnight - MIL takes DS and I am briefly baby-free

Holiday was good except the first night DS came out in spots on his body and sores on his bum, he was quite upset and had a fever. This was stressful enough but with no access to internet, a landline that accepted incoming calls only and very limited mobile reception I felt very anxious that he took a turn for the worse and we were unable to get help. I sensibly didn't have any wine and was a bit that DP happily knocked them back without a care in the world - grrrr. He has been ok for the most part of the week but had some wobbly moments and still has the spots but they are fading - no idea what they are. To be honest am glad to be home - missed contact with the world and feel more relaxed about DS not being 100% now.

mibbes · 18/07/2009 15:54

waaah Bella do you think that was your show ? How exciting - it is like a labour ward on here at the moment !!

teeheelaydee · 18/07/2009 16:05

Yes Bella was just about to ask - what do you mean 'interesting'. Could it be your 'plug' do you think? Don't worry about TMI!

SparklyPseudonym · 18/07/2009 16:07

Wooohhhooooo!!! Massive congrats to Georgie. I bet you're so thrilled little Flora is finally here. Hope you're recovering well and that the girls are enjoying their new baby sister.
Bella Sound good! Is it 10 days till your EDD?
Scully Great name for your little boy. Glad he's feeding better.
Fruity L was 8lb 6 so can't see this one being any smaller. My poor lady garden will be taking a battering!! Enjoy yourself tonight.
Bhudda Yey for flutters .

Saw MW and she said not to worry about SPD for the min but to keep an eye on possible hernia. Fundal measurement was 27cm so 2cm bigger for the moment. She said 'we'll keep an eye on it'....
