Bugger, C's not well. I've decided to keep him at home tomorrow. He's got a farm trip which he's been counting the sleeps for - he'll be so devastated
He's had a sore throat on and off since Monday. High temp on Mon. fine during most of the day but by early eve he's run down and teary. Just checked on him and he's pouring in sweat.
My friend has just told me her little boy has suspected Swine Flu and we were with them on Sunday.
Charlie's strong enough. I Just hope Jack doesn't catch it

BellaHarry · 16/07/2009 07:59

Fruity how's C this morning? poor thing missing his trip! Mind you he did think it was to Dean City Farm so maybe you could just take him there at the weekend if he's better? xx

CriCri thanks for joining the list! I'm really finding this all very interesting! Seems like the last stages of your labour were awkward to say the least

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 08:26

Sparkly
DD was born 15 days after EDD
Induced birth - Prostin pessary, waters broken, syntocyn but natural delivery.

Fruity
DS1 - 12 days late - induced 18 hour labour, ventouse, forceps, emergency c-section
DS2 - elective c-section so doesn't count. Probably would have been very late like C (if you remember, I added two weeks to my due date before I knew about c-section)

Teehee
2 days over due date, although waters broke on due date and unassisted delivery. No stitches.

Cricri
3 days after EDD (although had hindwater leak the day after EDD following a sweep)
8 hour labour, 4 hours pushing (2 at home, 2 in hospital), syntocyn, episiotomy, ventouse delivery.

Lola EDD - sneezed and out she popped. No stitches, grazing, tearing or pain relief needed. Pelvic floor still utterly in tact.

What do you reckon my chances are?!?!

Can I be really cheeky and ask people to add what pain relief they had - if it's going to be a competative list we may as well make it really competative!

Sorry not been posting, been ridiculously tired, def going to ask cons about iron levels on monday. Have to go to work in a min but should be back for a proper post later, just wanted to say...

CONGRATULATIONS!!! to Scully!!!! Fantastic news chick. And all the best people have 4 hour labours (or that's what my mum says anyway ) Looking forward to seeing you back here when you have the energy!

Georgie really hope the sweep kicked things off for you my love. From what I remember you telling me of your labours with the DDs 4 hours would be something of a marathon for you, so here's hoping DD3 is now here safe and sound and enjoying a cuddle with her lovely mummy And if she isn't, she will be soon, I can feel it in my waters

Sparkly good luck today!! Can't wait to see the pics! So exciting!!

Buddha - well ladies, who do we have who might have wanted to name change recently after they were hounded stalked spotted on here by someone who new them?

Fruity hope C's feeling better today? So glad you got your pooter back!

Should be back later. Client going to prison today I think. There will be tears before bedtime. I just hope they're not mine!!

SparklyPseudonym · 16/07/2009 08:42

Morning all,
We're off to a play place this am and to visit my parents this pm. Better get cracking really as we're both still sit in PJs. Oops. Only 9.5 hours til scan. . Am actually looking forward to a scan for the first time.
Lola There's always a chance . Good luck today. Are you taking pg vits?
Fruity Poor C. Have you phoned NHS direct as they're offering Tamiflu to the under 5s (or so I've read). IMO much better to get it now before it mutates.
Bella I'm just relieved DD hasn't starting asking how he got in there. At the moment she knows that mummy has seeds in her tummy and daddy watered one of them to turn it into a baby. Hope it's stays that way for a long time.
Georgie It's going to happen today if it hasn't already. xxxxx

Really better be off.

Sparkly
DD was born 15 days after EDD
Induced birth - Prostin pessary, waters broken, syntocyn but natural delivery after lots of pushing out back on back baby.
Pain relief - Gas and air. Bullied into having an epidural placed at about 8cms because consultant thought her bum was engaged and I'd need a section. They didn't top it up though or I'd have been pushing for 5 days.

Fruity
DS1 - 12 days late - induced 18 hour labour, ventouse, forceps, emergency c-section

Fruity Hope C is better this morning and that it's not swine flu One of my NCT friends and her LO have been ill and thought they had swine flu but it wasn't fortunately. Lots of nasty bugs around atm. Shame if C has to miss his farm trip though
Sparkly Can't wait to see your scan pics! Enjoy the experience - I loved my 4D scan!
Lola Hope today goes OK... Are you finishing work tomorrow?
Georgie Hope you're now in labour!
Speaking of which, the list!

Pain relief: Not allowed to use birthing pool at home in the end due to hindwater leak so I used my TENS machine and homeopathic remedies. I was so relieved to have gas and air in hospital they couldn't prise the mask away from me! Too late for anything else.

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 09:22

Hurrah Sparkly is looking forward to a scan - we have progress!

Love your explanation to DD - that is so sweet. Wouldn't it be lovely if she trotted that story out when she does sex ed in Yr 6.

Fruity Poor C, hopefully it isn't serious but definitely phone NHS direct. Such a shame that he's missing his trip.

Cricri 4 hours of pushing - you tropper, I hated hated the pushing stage and I only had to do a couple of hours of it. Poor you! Lovely photos of your trip.

Lola Nice to see you, I was wondering where you were. How many days of work do you have lined up? When does the big snooze (mat leave) officially start?

I am feeling cheerier as got off my arse and did stuff yesterday. Took DS swimming for the first time and he was very brave. I was amazed at how unfazed he was. We are meeting friends for a walk today so hoping weather holds.

Morning,
Well C seems fine but woke with a croaky voice and feels warm - thermometer decided not to work He says he's fine but he wouldn't be getting the night sweats if he wasn't fighting something?
Just waiting for GP to call back. I tried NHS Direct but I was on hold for ages and thought they will just tell me to ring surgery so hung up.

Wow I can't believe how brave you ladies were! ives me hope my natal hynotherapy techniques may stand a chance. One of the girls I did the course with had her baby last week said the hynotherapy worked! had not other pain relief other than water at home and a short (4 hour) labour! Makes me feel confident

Sparkly good luck with the scan! can't wit for piccies. P.S lol at the 'watering a seed' idea, long may the innocence continue.

Lola I think you have every chance of a birth like that; positive thinking girl! Mine will be tonight as I sleep

...right I'm off to read Pet Semetry (not the sort of book to read whilst pg but DH insisted I read it )

SparklyPseudonym · 16/07/2009 16:12

Ahh less than two hours to go. I'm still looking forward to it but am slightly nervous too. Am half expecting them to see a fairy and not a willy.
Bella I've been told not to read 'We need to talk about Kevin' when pregnant. Haven't read any reviews on Pet Semetry but isn't it a horror?
Fruity Glad he seems ok. Just seen your FB status. Keep him on calpol. Typical that he's missing his last days at school.
Teehee Am hoping I'll find the guts to tell her the truth by that point. My niece (Y6) was given 'the talk' recently by my BIL. She was disguised and said, "Wow. You and Mum must have really wanted children if you did that TWICE!" (She has a brother too). If only she knew....and if only it was that simple.
Cricri I'd forgotten about your 4D. I'll hopefully put piccies up later.

Random question: I picked up my Maxi Cosi Cabrio Car Seat before from baby shop. Opened the box and it's in there. On my last one there was a hood that pulled forward on to the handle (like a leotard material). This doesn't seem to have one..... Does anyone elses?

Next few hours are going to drag.....

SparklyPseudonym · 16/07/2009 16:16

Sorry just looked at CriCri's 4D pics. OMG - you can see straight away that it's Elise. How mental. Yours were at 27 weeks though and mine will be 25. Hope I get something half as good as that!
Fruity's are amazing too.

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 16:53

Afternoon all

What was your niece disguised as Sparkly? Methinks I'm not the only one with preg mush for brains! I lost my gown at court yday, knew I'd brought it with me and remembered taking it out of my bag then poof! It vanished into thin air! Had to borrow someone else's in the end, but it materialised eventually. Do you think someone was taking advantage of my mush brain condition by pinching it and knowing no-one would believe my "but I had it 2 minutes ago" protestations? REALLY looking forward to your scan pics btw! We've borrowed a maxi cosi cabriofix from friends so it's a few years old, but it def has the hood you mentioned. Have you tried pulling the back bit of plastic behind where the hood should be away from the seat slightly (iwswim) as I think that's where it stores...? Otherwise give them a call. I've phoned them twice and they've been incredibly helpful, and even sent me new chest pad thingies for free!

Teehee glad you're feeling better for getting out, I can imagine being just like that. It's just so hard to get motivated sometimes isn't it? I have weeks like that, can imagine getting quite down if I end up feeling that way after LO is born... ML officially starts on 1st Aug but I'm not working much after tomorrow, in fact atm I think it's only one day a week for the next 2 weeks! May try to do a little more than that though to make sure I earn more than I'll get on Mat Allowance as I can't start that til after I finish work completely. Have lots of nice things lined up to do though, also a trip to the dentist to finish the root canal treatment she started a while ago... not so fun!

Bella how are your "mechanical issues" today? Hope you're feeling better too. Have you been practicing your hypnobirthing techniques like a good girl? From the nonexistant little pelvic floor work I've done I think I was right in my assumption that I wouldn't get around to hypnobirthing practice! Am very stupid though, know how important the pelvic floor work is, DO NOT want to wind up in a tena commercial, and yet still haven't been doing it! LOOOOOOSER!! Am sure you're much more disciplined than me!

Fruity glad C seems a bit better. Have you managed to get the thermometer to work yet? Typical timing! Do you have a fertility one from trying charting you could use on him instead? Though somehow that seems a bit wrong!

Quick shopping/birthday related post for you all, before Georgie comes along with her brand new bundle and such things are relegated to their proper place in the scheme of things! Was looking for my new laptop earlier as DH had borrowed it. He told me he'd left it in a drawer in the office, by which I assumed he meant the office attached to our house where the business is run from so that's where I went to look (turns out he meant our study upstairs in our house... ) ANYWAY... while I was innocently looking I stumbled across a large LK Bennett carrier bag!!! It was still sealed with a sticker from the store, I didn't look see what was in it (subtle difference ) but it seemed like a handbag dust bag rather than a shoe box. Now, it's my 30th in 5 weeks and DH knows there were a couple of bags in there I liked. So has he bought one for me? Thing is there's also a possibility that the bag has nothing to do with me, could be something brought in to do with the business, it was in the office after all... So now I have the age old dilemma - do I spend the next few weeks excited at the prospect of my new bag (a la Emma Thompson in Love Actually) only to find out on my birthday that it wasn't for me, or worse, he's got the wrong one (Not actually sure it's what I want for my 30th but that would appear to be beside the point... ), or do I go and have a sneaky peak thereby ruining the only element of sirprise I have left - ie, assuming it is for me, which one is it?!?!? It's a toughie!!

SparklyPseudonym · 16/07/2009 17:07

Lola Or should I say snoop!! You can't have come across it totally by accident . Personally, I'm rubbish with these things and would have peeked straight away. You know I meant disgusted!!! Less than an hour to go. We'll have to head off to avoud traffic. Eek.

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 17:11

Quick one as don't know how long I have and Lola's post is a long'un, so before I read it wanted to reply to Sparkly

lol at your niece - as you say if only it were so easy!! Well done to your BIL for having 'the talk' though.

The car seat does have a sunshade - took us 2 days to find it - I thought mine was faulty. It is really tucked in the back of the seat - near where their head goes between the plastic and the fabric - hope you find it.

Right now to Lola's post - I have kendall mint cake at the ready to ensure I get though it.

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 17:11

Sparkly I DID!!!! Promise! TBH is was my mum's fault () DH had told me it was in a drawer, so I looked in the drawers, nothing, then my mum said had I tried looking "through there in the cupboard" I said no, she said look, and it was on a stool opposite the cupboard. SO not my fault!

Don't know if you have an automatic watch, but take it off before your scan, just got mine back from beinf fixed for a 2nd time in quick succession, apparently it was 'magnatised' which apparently could have been caused by ultrasound scanners Let us know how you get on xx

HerNameWasLola · 16/07/2009 17:13

Teehee !! Am mortally offended( )

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 17:20

Lola If you look and it's the wrong one - what will you do? I say don't look - however I KNOW I would

Don't forget to tell us if DH did come up trumps

Off to city now with DP as when I went in to exchange nieces too big t-shirt - noticed a 50% sale at Monsoon and Accesorize.

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 17:23

Bet you learn brevity after LO arrive - although come to think of it - I haven't!

BellaHarry · 16/07/2009 19:23

Georgie???

Lola no peeking! I have been practicing my hypnobirthing stuff and reading the book, I do the cd everyday now and was doing it 1 to 3 times a week from 28 weeks so fingers crossed I can put it all in to action when the time comes. As for pelvic floor exercises, I have done none!! I know that's bad but it makes me feel sicky! Always has

sparkly yes, pet semetry is a horror, in which a baby get's run over! And I think is about to be buried ready for a creepy ressurection! Not the best for this time in life but I'm nearly done now. How did the scan go?

Fruityjuice · 16/07/2009 20:24

Lola I'm not saying anything, I'll only lead you astray
How's the Lin and Leo? Mine's scuffed already It's because when I put it on the P&T I have to hang it side ways which means it hits everything in my path

Well, I've texted Georgie about 20 minutes ago and no reply. I hope she's busy labouring!

I've changed my name too, any good?
I love Juicyfruit chewing gum but haven't seen it for ages so thought I would play on that a bit.

Teehee have fun at Monsoon!

mwahahahaha I've seen Sparkly's 3D pics, ner ner na ner ner
He's just divine! I beautiful lickly boy

Fruityjuice · 16/07/2009 20:24

I meant lickle not lickly

Fruityjuice · 16/07/2009 20:26

can anyone help me with this mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/791897-Help-me-find-a-dress-for

SparklyPseudonym · 16/07/2009 21:39

Only me quickly. Am too excited to catch up. Loved every second of scan. They've given up 15 photos and a 40 min DVD. I've taken a photo of a few of the pics (on FB) but will scan them when I have the chance.
Baby is measuring 26+1 and weighs over 2lb already. Am only 24+5. Consultant said 'There's no way he'll be a 7lber!!".

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 21:45

Fruityjuice I know I've just come from there but they had some of their wedding dresses half price at Monsoon - I know you won't want a wedding dress but some of them are short and just lovely cream dresses.

What kind of thing did you have in mind?

teeheelaydee · 16/07/2009 21:46

just popping over to FB to see Master Sparkly
