although maybe beast is more appropriate given the way you are feeling.

BellaHarry · 09/04/2009 20:46

Well I'm almost back in London, oh just announced I'm here, too much to remember but want to say big congrats to Mollie and Lola.. My 100% record is still intact as I said a girl! How cute, so many girlies! Well done. Oh and welcom to Ray and Jaamy! Back soon ladies. P.s Paris was great DH and I got on well I feel much better x x x

FruitynNutty · 09/04/2009 21:22

I'm back, ahhh, what a difference 4oz of Aptamil makes!

Absolutely teehee you'd think I'd done that on purpose!

Welcome back to The Old Smoke Bella I'm so pleased you had a good time

I'm absolutely bloody exhausted, you lot have got all this to look forward to Teehee, good luck! haha.

I think I'll have an early night, sleep well everyone xx

FruitynNutty · 09/04/2009 21:27

Oh I forgot to say Teehee I'm not getting on with the Babasling at all I've just ordered one of these in olive green Although I wish I'd got the forest green one now but wasn't available when I ordered. They're supposed to be really good for BFing hands free
I'm going to sell my Babasling

Jaamy · 10/04/2009 00:57

Gosh, you ladies move fast...please forgive me if I disappear from time to time - looking after littlies in day and working in evenings/weekends.

Thank you for the lovely welcomes. I recognise quite a few of you from various TTC threads. I hope I can keep up the really great atmosphere you have in here. Xmas Grin

Fruity - try to enjoy the BF, all too soon it's gone. I know it's such hard work to start with but if nothing else, it gives you an excuse to sit down and rest instead of running round like a mad woman. Are you sure Jack is feeding all that time and not just sucking for comfort? My DD2 was terrible for just sucking ALL day (she didn't have a dummy but I'm quite sure she would have taken one if I'd tried). It's good that Jack will feed from a bottle too because you do need a break now and then. That sling looks lovely and will give you both hands free for mumsnet important stuff like eating and drinking! Hope things get into a better routine soon.

Lola - am sure you are not (and will not be) elephant woman but a beautiful glowing mum-to-be. Enjoy your new shape and remember it's all in a good cause. You won't have time to admire your ankles when junior arrives!

Ei - thanks for making room for me on the bench. Surely neither of us can be there much longer?!

Mollie - hope I can be a (poor) substitute while you are busy looking after your new little bean.

Ray - big CONGRATS - hope you have your feet up.

Teehee - lovely nursery - how exciting! And fab bump!

Happy Easter all - going away for a few days so will catch up next week and hopefully see some lovely news from TeeHee!

x

Morning, I just remembered,

Scully Go for Jack - not that I'm biased or anything!

Wow Jaamy You are one busy lady Thanks for the words of wisdom re BFing. I know it'll be worth it. Hopefully when this sling arrives, it'll make my life a little easier.

Gotta go, typing one handed and it's my left hand so struggling a little

scully · 10/04/2009 09:47

Sling looks good Fruity, had to wonder about the picture of the lady with twins, she couldn't have possibly done that herself
dd2 was like Jaamy's dd2, very sucky and she happily sucked on a dummy for comfort when she wasn't hungry as my nips crack so easily in the first couple of months that I wasn't feeding her unless is was for milk, sounds mean but I couldn't cope with the pain initially. I know not everyone likes dummies but I'm a fan as I think some children really need to suck for longer for comfort.
Great that you had a relaxing time in Paris Bella, sounds like you need to plan more mini trips away
Stressful day here today, dh and the dd's p*ing me off for most of the day. Good thing is that we got the garage sorted out so desk is out of our bedroom now and moses basket is in that space now. Hopefully will get a desk and a bookcase tomorrow and then I need to find a way to get the kayak off the garage floor and up on a wall or roof, then the dd's can have that side of the garage as a play area and I can start organising dd2's room more, as that is where the baby will eventually live.
May head up the Sunshine Coast on Sunday. Took the girls down to the park by the Bay today for a couple of hours, which was nice. They are suitable tired now

ooh gosh Ei I do find these charts very confusing?? really want to be helpful too ...

as for our list, that's a bit 'iffy' lol I know that Scully and Georgie are ahread of me..by 2 weeks at least, Lola must be half way as she's a month behind me and isn't Teehee 40 wks? lets see how this works:

scully · 10/04/2009 12:23

Yep, I updated the list on Thurs and changed Ei, myself and Georgie, as they were the only 3 I knew I could accurately change. I think an older list was used after my updates, so the numbers went backwards a bit
Did you like my comment on FB Ei, I swear that neither dd is listening to anything dh and I say and when they do listen, they argue the point to see if we will change our mind Wait until Sian is nearing 6/7yrs old, they just can't accept what you say and need to push the issue until they have been sent to their room, in tears
aghhhhhh
Treated myself to half a glass of wine tonight, decided my stress levels needed it
9.20pm here so off to bed......

SparklyPseudonym · 10/04/2009 12:25

Hello ladies .
A very quick one from me for now. Just home from holiday and have left DP to unpack - lucky boy .
Had some more spotting while we were away but 11 weeks today but LMP and a few less by ov. Hopefully we'll get there. Just had a letter from hospital about booking in - my MW is off sick so have to book in at hospital on...20th!! God knows how long I'll have to wait for a scan.
Mollie xxxx
Ray Welcome here! Lots of sticky vibes to you. It's lovely for Mollie to have a hand to hold.
Jaamy Am glad you're here to hold Ei's hand too - although I have a feeling neither of you will be waiting very long.
Lola Am about to reply to your text - honest!!
Fruity If you need a chat about the BF then please give me a ring and I'll try and offer some support. xxxxxx Will post pressie tomorrow.
Teehee Come on sticky!!! Tomorrow is D-day!

It's my EDD for m/c today. Am determined to think positively for 5 mins. xxx

teeheelaydee · 10/04/2009 18:07

Welcome back Sparkly and Bella Glad you both had lovely breaks. and Welcome to Ray and Jaamy We will be here to hold your hand Ray, as Ei said, sadly, between us we have quite a back catalogue of disappointments. One day at a time...

Sparkly Have been thinking of you this week as knew your EDD was around now. I guess the only comfort you can take from the spotting is that it has been all the way through and nothing sinister has happened - must be playing with your head though.

Ei I'm afraid I'm clueless with charts - Good job Sparkly is back as Fruity is probably otherwise engaged at the moment.

Have a good weekend Lola - what exciting thing are you up to now? You're always gadding about making me look boring.

Scully You sound like you are madly busy but sorting out stuff will be lovely once it's done and you have put your DH and DD's on e-bay as Mibbes nearly did the other day!

Fruity I'm sorry I have nothing more useful than my beast comment but you have my sympathy and hoping things start to improve soon. You sound determined to carry on so I'm sure you'll get there.

Big hellos to everyone else - Mollie am still smiling over your news - hope all OK with you - just as you need regular posts from me - I need them from you too!

As you can tell no news here. Have been irritable in the last couple of days and DP argued last night and I also had a poor nights sleep... BUT have given myself a good talking to and have been much cheerier today It has been a glorious sunny day here which I think has helped. Am also treating myself to a glass of wine with dinner.

SparklyPseudonym · 10/04/2009 18:29

I'm back....gosh you lot can natter!! Although now I'm back you've all shut up!!
Teehee I am going to think positive for you in the way that you stay positive for me. You will not go massively overdue. You are not going to be induced. The baby will be born on Tuesday (although I may change this date if I have a baby dream before!). Enjoy your wine - maybe have a few more glasses - you're bound to go into labour if you're pissed!!
Scully It must be that time of year because my DD seems to have lost her ears too - she's such a cheeky madam...3 going on 30!!!
Ei Ohhh I love a chart!! I want to go with CD13 or 15- today's temp is high but that is prob alcohol related . FF should give you lines soon. Lots and lots and lots of luck.
Bella Are you feeling a bit brighter? Am glad you had a good break.
Jaamy Enjoy your Easter break. Hopefully you won't have as much to catch up on as me when you get back .
Fruity DO NOT feel guilty about giving J formula. I topped L up from a week old, especially in the evening. Most important thing is that you're both healthy and well..You've given him a great start. Is he putting weight on now? Chin up missy...xxxx
Lola Spoke to my GP friend who lives next door but one about scans/dopplers. WELL, she used to do lots of gynae work AND she thinks that research is totaly bumcheeks. She said doulas are often so against regular monitoring as it's not natural and the more screenings you have, the more likely they are to find something that turns out to be nothing. She was also talking about how wrong it is that they sell dopplers to the public. She said she's used them lots and believes she's found a HB until a MW tells her that she's actually located the placenta . Big middle finger up to your dopey doula!
Ray So sorry to read about your struggles. You're in good company here. Are you being monitored closely because of previous m/c? At what stage did you experience your last m/cs? Good luck!
Cricri, Mibbes, Emmsy and Fruity Happy first Easter to your gorgeous LOs.
Piper So sorry to read you've been suffering. Hopefully it'll start to pass now.

Right...need to go and locate the other thread to catch up!

Molliemooma · 10/04/2009 18:42

Ray Thank you so much for the hand holding offer, I will definately take you up on that, so sorry to hear of your m/c's you are definatley in good company here, most of us have been through that awful experience. I have to say that I have only done a meagre 4 tests compared to your 20 and now am tempted to do the digital CB ones too so I can see it's going up in dates, I know Lola will tell me off though Only 7 sleeps til you see your LO
Sparkly I am still in shock that you're not getting your booking in appt til 20th! That's disgusting!! Hope today passes without too much emotional stress for you chick
Bella Glad to hear you had a lovely holiday and are feeling better
Scully Your comment on FB did make me laugh! So glad the humidity has gone for you now and making it a bit more comfortable
TeeHee Gorgeous nursery pictures, especially the booties I've tried to think of non-naff christening presents but I haven't bought any for a while, and when I have the parents were collecting something i.e. Peter Rabbit. For my god-daughter I had her name painted with storybook characters and framed or like this or This website isn't too naff!
EI I'm crap at these charts too so I'm waiting for one of the others to say whether it looks good or not
Jaamy Less of the "poor" substitute you! I think you should be a copy cat and get a BFP , in fact do a doubler with EI this cycle
Lola Hope you are having a lovely time away, enjoy yourself and rest up those swollen ankles
Fruity Hope things settle down with Jack soon, although I think you are doing a wonderful job one hand typing and left too! I like the look of the sling but agree with Scully there is no way you could get twins in there on your own!

mibbes · 10/04/2009 18:50

Mollie, woohooo ! I am so pleased for you missus and wel done on the PMA What great news for the new thread

Lola as I said am so pleased for successful scan and your mummy instinct must have kicked in as soon as you got BFP - 'mummy knows best' . Oh and I didn't really feel proper movement from Evan until about 20 weeks and even then it was only once or twice a day, not too frequent. I definitely found that lying down helped as I was concentrating on my bump and relaxed. I didn't find drinking/eating anything specific made a difference but it did for friends so it must just depend on your baby. Having said that, I indulged in the 'sweet things like chocolate make baby move' theory just to keep testing it !!

Sparkly today must be a tough day for you hun, try to channel all of your energy into the bean in your belly, big hugs xx

Ei you have all of our positive vibes willing you to get the BFP you soooo deserve, I'm sure it won't be long xx

piper I hope you reach the puke-free stage soon !

teehee I am so excited that you are due any minute ! You have such a wonderful time just around the corner, enjoy every minute of it xx

Jaamy and hunny I remember you both from the TTC waiting room, lovely to see you both and welcome to ray

Hello to all the other lovely ladies on the thread xx

BellaHarry · 10/04/2009 20:41

Jaamy what day do you usually ov?

Ray good luck! stay positive

Ei I see you've been bang on the fb quizzes again! I get fed up with them and stop half way through most of them! lol

Piper how are you feeling? I'm sure you've probably already answered this and I missed it but do you know if your twins are identicle?

Sparkly thanks for your concern. where have you been? Hope your feeling happier?

Mollie I never told anyone but I kept testing after my BFP to see if the line got stronger...probably not the healthiest thing to do. How have you been feeling?

Teeheelaydee OMG! tomorrow is your due date..not sure why I'm telling you, of course you know I love, love your nursery! I expecially love all those special little touches! Inspiring!

Scully hope the wine does the job

Lola how's Nemo been? and you? when do you go to Turkey? it is Turkey isn't it?

Georgie long time no speak...how's your bump coming along?

Emmsy are you all sorted with school now?

Fruity Hope you're feeling more positive about the bf/bottle feeding? Are you around next week, say thur?

Mibbes lovely to 'see' you

hi to CriCri too!

Truth be told I'm not feeling that much better and am definitely going to sort out some counciling from GP (if he'll bother to sort it...not my experience in the past). I have been doing lots of thinking on the issue though and think I am getting closer to a few of my particular concerns; having not had a postive role model of a father (thats's putting it lightly!) and not having any other male role models growing up I think I have a negative view of 'fathers' and am moulding my DH into something that he probably won't be (I wish i could say that with more conviction) I mean there is not reason for him to be crap...I keep acting as though I'm in this on my own and excluding him from so much of it, I have a go at him when he can't feel lo move, I presume it must be because he doesn't care...oh gosh I sound neurotic! sorry about this ladies.

ray81 · 10/04/2009 21:02

Hi guys been very hectic so havent had a chance to get on.

Molly you have been soooooooooooooo good aonly doing a few tests i have been awful. Had a scare yesterday as i did another and the line was fainter, still strong but not as strong as some others i have done so i PANICED big time, went and got a CB digi and it still says 3+ so big sigh. They come in packs of 2 so will do the other nest week to make sure all is ok.

Sparkly- the epu here have been pretty rubbish actually, i ahve a scan booked for a week today but thats it.
The thing is i think they are being funny as i was temping and it showed possible problems with low progesterone so this month at 7dpo i had a temp spike which indicated implantation so the doc gave me progesterone. When i found out i was i called the epu and explained and they got all shitty saying that they wouldnt have done that etc etc and so i need to go back to doc. they then had the cheek to get upity about the fact i had fallen and 'They dont recommend it until investigations are complete' yeah like whatever i have ceen ttc for 5 yrs like i am going to wait.
Once i know all is going to be ok i will be making a complaint.

Ei - yes i think i was on that one too. I realy hope that you join us all too but am glad you have Jammy to keep you company for the time being.

Lola - have you invested in one of the dobla things ypou can get from places like mother care. My friend has one and swears by it you can hear the hB whenever you want i think its great and she is going to lend it to me when i get to that stage.

Hi to everyone else i have missed thankyou so much for the warm welcome.

teeheelaydee · 10/04/2009 22:30

Mollie Step away from the HPK's you know it makes sense!

Bella really as some of the things you said about how you feel about your DH sounded familiar to me even though I have a great relationship with my Dad so don't feel you are alone. I think maybe we are hard on the prospective Daddies. They just don't feel as bonded with LO as early as we do, which I guess is understandable as they don't have it with them 24-7. I think my DP felt a little left out when I could feel the baby and he couldn't - it was frustrating for him and so he didn't bother trying which annoyed me but now he asks me how 'Sticky' is every morning and feels and sees the bump move. They don't seem to get into the preparations so early either, but in time mine did. I guess what I'm trying to say is give it some time and I'm sure he will be fine when your little girl is here, if not before. Try and enjoy this time when it is just you and baby - it's not going to happen again and you are a team (that's how I feel anyway - me and baby against the world)

FruitynNutty · 11/04/2009 08:43

Hey Bella Yes I'm around Thursday. I'll be semi back at work but will only have one to look after (My delicious little girl mindee plus my two of course) We could go for a coffee in morning somewhere by me (Starbucks/M&S/Sainsburys?) or if you want to come over in afternoon then mindee should be asleep between 1pm and 3pm.
Got some excitement happening at the Tandem Centre - Mamas and Papas opening soon!!!!!! I've been barred by DP already

I can completely relate to how you feel Bella, my Dad also wasn't really around and I always had a vision in my head of an amazingly perfect father for my children and husband for me (Ha!) So I think I put a lot of pressure on DP when he's not that sort of person. Really gets me down - I'm sure you've realised!
We'll have a chat on Thursday

another rant - FFS, if DP asks me to give Jack a bottle one more time I swear I'm going to punch him He keeps having a go at me because J's hungry - nothing like a bit of support from your DP eh!

Ei Just about to take a look at your chart............

Molliemooma · 11/04/2009 08:50

Mibbes Thank you, how is Evan getting on? I've been checking out FB for his photo's and yes he's still delicious
Bella I think TeeHee's suggestion of making the most of your time alone with your little girl is lovely, and at least you know you're not the only one putting pressure on the OH to conform. Really push for the counselling with your GP, the last thing you need is to have problems after the birth and not enjoy your first few wks/mths because your not well, get assertive with him now! I'm feeling OK thanks, trying not to get too hung up on symptoms or lack of as I had really strong ones with the last pg's and look where that got me! So unfortunately I can't trust my body at all as it likes to fake me just going with the flow
TeeHee I went into two shops that sold HPT's yesterday and I didn't buy one [proud emoticon] I'm such a good girl
Ray at EPU, sometimes they can be so insensitive I do wonder why some of them work there! Less than a week now til your scan

Hope everyone else has got the lovely sunshine that we have, off to hand out easter eggs to my godchildren this afternoon

FruitynNutty · 11/04/2009 09:05

I'd say either the 13th or the 15th for ov Ei I wonder why FF haven't put in your lines?

Does anyone know how to get rid of an ear infection without going to the GP?
My ear is killing me my ears get blocked up very easily and I have to have them syringed quite a lot. Obviously I've been a bit pre-occupied lately so haven't had the chance and ignored the blockage. Now it's turned into an infection (I think - bloody painful anyway). Can't call the GP until Tuesday and they will be booked up for at least a week and a half. Can't go as emergency patient because have to be there when it opens at 8am and there's no way I can get out the door much before 10am at the moment.

Can't even take Nurofen , I'm not sure paracetamol will touch it tbh. Might go and ask in the general health bit....................

BellaHarry · 11/04/2009 10:04

Fruity thanks hun I'm afraid the only way I know of to get rid of an infection is with antibiotics, but as I understand it it's quite important to sort these things early as they spread and next would be your throat I suppose? As for Thur, I am happy to do either, but I do love a Starbucks hot Choc, so maybe meet 11am at starbucks? xx

Mollie 'go with the flow' bet that's easier said than done just remember to keep posting when you have a wobble.

Teehee thank you so much for those wise words, I suppose it is very different for our OHs not feeling that initial bond. I also think that as DH and I have been blessed not to experience a mc he probably takes it all for granted and thats another reason he doesn't seem concerned etc. I like the 'me and baby against the world' idea.

I am currenly living on hit cross buns! I dread to think what the calorie count is Harry (baby kitty) is out on his own for the first time...it's such a worry, hope he comes back

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 11/04/2009 13:02

Lovely ladies. Happy Easter . Just got back from Cyprus this morning and should really be sorting out the washing. But, MN far more interesting!

Anyway, just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Mollie. Bloody fab news. Am so very very pleased for you. Have everything crossed, sending sticky vibes and sending up prayers for this one to be uber sticky!

I will catch up properly later. But just wanted to say hello to you lovely lot and welcome the newbies.

Tedwood is doing well. I'm really feeling rather large now (although not as large as some of the people on the beach. Ugh! God, it makes you proud to be British - not. The smell of raosting flesh and chips ). She's kicking the crap out of me most of the time and also has hiccups 3 or 4 times a day (just like DD1).

DD2 has come back with chickenpox . Spots came out this morning. But better to get them over and done with before DD3 arrives.

OK, got to go and hose DD2 down with calomine.

Catch you lot later. I expect a good showing on the Easter egg eating front . xxxx
