I have finally uploaded pics from Ei's visit to Scotland

scully · 09/07/2009 06:25

Love the hair Ei Great pics Mibbes, I do love baldy babies
Money can be the cause of so many arguments Fruity, sounds like it would help to sit down with someone neutral to work out how you both feel about certain subjects and how you can both compromise and still be happy .
Teehee's contacts sound promising.
Is no news good news Georgie?
I was tested for Strep B here, seems to be routine, wasn't for the dd's in the UK though. Test was negative, so one less thing to worry about.
Have spent the morning running around after dd2. Was up with her from 2.30am, she came into us with a temp of over 39deg, snotty, coughing and really not well. Temp a bit lower this morning and she kept breakfast down but we went to the dr as a precaution, more because of the baby and me. They aren't routinely testing children here for swine flue anymore, only if you fall into a certain category, which she doesn't, but he did suggest tests to rule out any nasty respiritory lurgies, mainly with a new baby arriving any day. So dd2 wasn't impressed when this tube was put up her nose for the test, but luckily the lady was quick, so we should know within 48hrs if it's anything to worry about. I'm starting to feel like I'm coming down with a cold now, not surprising considering I was vomited on, breathed and coughed all over last night but as long as I don't start feeling fluey I won't worry.
& to top it off, dd1 gets shitty in the last hour, whinging that the attention is on dd2 and I can still care about other people blah blah. I ask you with tears in my ears, 7yr old girls, what planet are they on? She has gotten a lecture, I didn't completely lose my cool but just reminded her of all the things we've been doing in the holidays that have been focussed around her, and that the only extra attention dd2 has got recently is help getting out of vomity clothes, seeing the dr & having a tube put up her nose Should have arranged for dd1 to have the bloody test as well, that would have shut her up......
Anyway, whinge over, I'm going to lie down for an hour before picking dh up from work.
Hope you're all having a nice day

BellaHarry · 09/07/2009 08:37

Sparkly wow 14 day.. I can't even bear to consider that possibility yet! Hope you're more on time this time, maybe it's the clary sage that will do it for us all

Fruity not sure if your lap top is back on but here are the contacts I emailed you:

search this website for students to get cheaper price

I used: Cecilia Frend she claims she adjusts cost t suit individuals

I have a small infection in my 8 year old belly piercing where it has been stretched and bumped and damaged on the inside, it's swollen and red at the top, and a little puss-y (tmi) I have salt washed it, put germolene and a plasted over worst, and of course removed the piercing...will it be ok? serves me right really I was warned...I was wearing a 'pregnancy bar' though

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 09/07/2009 11:46

Hey there. Just a quick one from me. I'll catch up properly later. After thinking that things were on the move yesterday - loads of lower back pain, BH and lower belly cramping.....it's another day with a no show from Tedwood. Am beginning to bore myself now, so you lot MUST be bored with my whinging. Anyway, she CAN'T be born today as it's the step-mother-in-law's birthday and we'd never hear the bloody end of it if they shared a b'day.

Reflexology today. Will just be nice to have feet pummeled.

Feeling a bit blue. Just got to stage where energy all gone and I feel as if she's never going to come out. Am scared stiff I'll be really overdue, she'll be HUGE and I'll have to have c-section. Or worst still I'll break my hoo-hoo trying to get her out.....Nothing like over reacting then!

Ignore me. Am being spoilt little girl. Been awake since 4am and prob just over-tired and a bit emotional. Will have a nap this arvo and try and perk myself up.

xxxx

HerNameWasLola · 09/07/2009 11:49

Right shopaholics, time to put you to work

Thank you for all your comments about the bouncy chairs, am def going to get one, but which one??? Here are some options for your perusal

Ebay choices: have chosen ones that are close to me so I can collect them

fisher price think this one might get too ££, but also think the seller might be kidding herself...? Although it's £50 new in mothercare...

mamas & papas this one's close to my sister so she could get it for me

chicco deluxe have emailed the seller asking for photos... what sort of idiot doesn't include photos...?

Or there's teehee's in either pink or blue

I also quite like this one, and it's a decent reduction

or this one?
This might be my favourite looks wise...

So there you go! What do you think?

Bella be careful what you put on your belly, may be worth checking with mw what's ok to use? Not sure about germalene, think savlon spray is ok, how about trying some witch hazel or sudocrem (marvellous stuff, 1001 uses!)

Scully sorry you're having such a tough time! Hope DD1 & 2 start behaving themselves and getting better respectively!

Mibbes looking forward to a gawp at your photos later! Any more good bag shots?

Can't remember if this has already been said, but Fruity's laptop is kaput! Think she's worried how she'll survive til it's fixed, and frankly I'm concerned for her too! SO if she's not here for a bit, that's why

Sparkly sorry I had to run off from fb earlier. TRY THE DRESS ON NOW!!! Don't leave iit til just before you leave for graduation tom/when the shops are shut tonight, or sod's law says you'll hate it, whereas if you try it on now it will be gorgeous!

I discovered matalan baby clothes yday... oh dear.... so cheap and yet so gorgeous... luckily the store I was in had a v limited selection!

HerNameWasLola · 09/07/2009 11:51

cross posts georgie Gutted we don't live close enough for me to pop over and bring cake and sympathy. You're allowed to whinge, and if you can't do it here, where can you? Hope reflexology is relaxing if nothing else xx

Hadn't realised Mibbes photos were of Ei too! (am a bit thick ) now DEF going to have a look asap!

scully · 09/07/2009 12:18

Enjoy your reflexology Georgie, I'm such a fan Hope you're feeling better after that and a decent sleep
Know what you mean about being tired, after dd2 keeping us awake half the night by 3pm this afternoon I actually needed to lie down, something I rarely do. dd2 and I fell asleep for half an hour, made such a difference. Got back from collecting dh from work at 5pm and she was back running a temp of over 39 again. Finally managed to persuade her to take calpol and got 8ml into her, made all the difference, she ate her dinner and went to bed at normal time. Fingers crossed she is ok through the night....
As for dd1, don't think I've met more of a hypochondriac in all my life Am hoping for a better day tomorrow with/from her
3rd night in a row, yet more cramping, ok if I sit down, as soon as I stand up it's really uncomfortable. So who knows.....Have definitely caught something off dd2 as well, just feeling like a cold at this stage, hopefully won't develop overnight into anything more, would rather not labour and have the flu at the same time
I remember Matalan Lola, had a friend who lived at Ashford and there was one right near there that I liked to visit. I liked the Mamas and Papas bouncers you had links to, the first one on Ebay I'm a bit biased with as I had one almost identical to that with dd2, just didn't vibrate. Only reason I still dont' have it is that a friend's 2yr old sat in it and it tore......
How's dd feeling Sparkly? I so don't iron regularly, do the things that need it, as we want to wear them, and dh looks after himself.
Time for bed I think, 9.17pm here, I'm such a nightowl these days

teeheelaydee · 09/07/2009 14:31

Another quickie but can't resist a quick comment on Lola's chairs.

Think the fisher price one looks a bit bulky. The M&P e bay is very similar to N's main one with he loves and is nice and comfy for a snooze. I would go for that or the last M&P one as they look the most comfortable.

Hang in there Georgie you are nearly there but this is such a frustrating time.

Must go as even tho bouncy chairs are great I don't think N should spend ALL day in it

piper84 · 09/07/2009 19:22

Hi ladies, just a quick update from me, had 23 week scan today, twin A is measuring 21w 5d, twin B is measuring 22w 4d. Have a growth check scan in two weeks, hopefully they will be growing well

SparklyPseudonym · 09/07/2009 19:35

Evening all,
Another busy day here - mainly boring household things. I graduate tomorrow. Not looking forward to it - I know I'll fall flat on my face!!
Piper Just to put it here as well, don't be too worried about measurements at the mo. I'm sure they can be up to a week out and there's still plenty of growing time. At least you'll have another scan very soon.
Scully DD seems much better today. Am not going to risk nursery tomorrow so will send her to my parents instead. How are you feeling and how is DD?
Lola Still haven't tried on the dress but it's almost tomorrow so it won't be long. I would go for a M&P one. It'll be perfect for what you need. I bought some cot and moses basket sheets in Matalan. It's so cheap!
HTGG Has the reflexology got Tedwood moving? You're bound to be worried about giving birth when it's imminent. Esp because you've been through it twice before and you know what's coming. You will be fine though and it'll be worth it.
Mibbes I used to have cooking days when weaning DD. There would be puree up the walls and she'd hate half the stuff I made. It's so satisfying though .

DD is calling for a drink so I'd better go and get her one. Anything for a couple of extra mins attention...

mibbes · 09/07/2009 21:30

Piper I thought that for twins those sound like promising measurements. I can't beieve you are more than half way already !

Lola I had the Fisher Price one and it was great. Evan loved the vibrate function when teeny weeny (put him to sleep several times) and he really enjoyed the flashy lights and music when a bit older. It was a Godsend when I was making dinner as I plonked him on the kitchen worksurface in it and he was as happy as Larry. I borrowed it and TBH wouldn't have chosen it as I wanted all pale neutral things but with hindsight I think it is a really good bouncer and babies love bright colours . When I was PG this is the one I wanted Bloom rocker but now realise that it is not really very comfy looking - I was thinking of my house interior as opposed to the baby's comfort - oops

Sparkly good luck tomorrow, I'm sure you won't fall !

COME ON the new babies - hurry up we are itching to 'meet' you

HerNameWasLola · 10/07/2009 07:28

Morning my loves

Early start in the Lola household this morning, we've got our friends staying with their 2 kids, 3.5 and 21months, who decided 5.30am was a good time to get up... The joys we have to look forward to! But combined with the fact that by the time they arrived, fed and bathed the boys and we went to the take away for an in depth discussion about which dishes we could order (have to be gluten free) we didn't eat til 10pm, which I don't think LO appreciated so I didn't sleep well & so am absolutely shattered...

Piper good luck with your next scan, know nothing about twin measurements sorry, but from my ignorant position I would also have thought your measurements were pretty good... let us know how you get on xx

Thank you so much for all your chair comments, I really appreciate it! Think will go to M&P today after work to check out their selection... Mibbes I'm glad it's not just me thinking about the interior of my house!! Can't quite shake the feeling that that's why I like the final M&P one best!! [bad mother emoticon]

Sparkly really hope you can relax and enjoy today, you've worked so hard to get here, now it's time to bask in the glory! And we want photos of you and Spook in your sexy dress! (Especially if you do fall flat on your face - silver lining: a bit of You've Been Framed money would pay for a new changing bag!)

I sympathise so much with Scully & Georgie, I'm TERRIBLE at waiting patiently for things, especially if I don't know when they're going to happen. I think I'll have to find out what my induction date would be just so I have something definite to work towards! Not a great help when you're so uncomfortable though I suspect. Georgie am very glad it's cooled down for you, though according to my mother (avid watcher of weather forecasts) summer's coming back on sunday, so would you like me to have a quiet word with Tedwood to see if I can persuade her to make an appearance before then?

I had a midwife appointment yesterday. Good news is baby was head down and 3/5 engaged, bad news is she has me measuring 4cm small for dates, and 1cm smaller than the last time she saw me! Am SO glad I had that scan earlier in the week or I'd be in full panic mode by now. I guess it serves me right, I've always said fundal height measurements are a load of old poo, so it looks like that's come back to haunt me! It's crazy though isn't it, on the scan LO is measuring slightly big if anything, just about the 50th centile which is where she's been all along, and yet I'm 4cm small... I am right in saying that as the scan was fine I shouldn't be worried though aren't I ladies? I'm guessing the fact that she's 3/5 loses a bit, but 4cm seems like a lot....

Hope you all have a lovely friday. Looks like it's going to be a very long one for me - v early start, then work, then M&P & hopefully going to pick up some baby stuff from a friend, then have hair app in southampton at 5pm so one way or another when I leave the house this morning I think I'll do well to get back here before about 10 o'clock tonight!! Ah well, at least I should have good hair to go straight to bed with! (and I mean to SLEEP!)

HerNameWasLola · 10/07/2009 07:29

(Mibbes bad mother emoticon obv directed at me not you!! )

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 10/07/2009 10:23

Morning. Thanks for all your lovely wishes. I'm afraid that the reflexology, whilst lovely, hasn't done anything apart from give me a cracking lower back ache . Anyway, reflexologist thinks that it'll be Sat or Sun . We'll see.

Lola We had the M&P chair for Libby and she LOVED it. It's still in one peice, so Tedwood will be using it. Please try not to worry about the measurements of LO. One of my friends had her baby 7 weeks early. She was tiny and is now thriving. Remember, scan results can be very misleading. It will be OK honey bunch. Have a great time at the hairdressers. V jealous.

Piper Wow, half way through already? Blimey. Good news on the scan results. Agree with Mibbes that it looks v promising. You're doing something right as the LO's are obviously v happy and content in there.

Sparkly Ironing. Bluergh. Would rather clean out my fridge! Have a very lovely time today at your graduation. I really hope everyone (and you) is extremely proud of what you've done. Ropund of applause and big WOOOOO HOOOOO from me. Go girl. And of course you won't trip over your gown .

Scully How's DD2? Hope she's on the mend? Any news from you? I'm absolutely sure that you'll pip me to the post. And I'm placing bets on another girl. And how's it going with DD1? Has she chilled out a bit? Maybe she's just getting anxious for you? Not that it helps at all!

TeeHee Have you booked some 'me time' yet hon? Go on, treat yourself. I insist!

Mibbes I can't beleive how many things E is doing now. Bet you're one proud mama! Will look on FB to see the pics.

Fruity Hope the 'pooter is being fixed as we speak. And can't give any advice re: couples counseling, but hope you find someone soon. It's awful having those thoughts hanging over you. But at least you're trying to do something about it. That's the scariest bit.

Ei Hope everything oK with you chick. Did you ever get any answers re: spotting?

Right, better go and try and rip DD2 away from the telly. Don't rate my chances much.

xxxxx

scully · 10/07/2009 11:03

Hello ladies, have felt quite shite all day, thx to dd2's cold that she lovingly gave to me Panadol are helping to take the edge off it at least. Still low cramping and it's stronger in the last 24hrs, but very irregular and nothing that can be timed. As long as it doesn't spring something on me in a big hurry, I don't mind if it carries on into next week. dh has a sweepstake in his dept at work, up to $50 at the moment, for day of birth and sex. He has money on next Thurs , I said I'd see what I can do
He took a half day off work today, which was great, meant I could have a rest and there was someone here to watch the dd's and referee dd2 is feeling better, still not 100% but improving. dd1 has realised she isn't getting attention for her hypochondria so has stopped, you're right Georgie, could be in reaction to me, hadn't thought of that. dh took them grocery shopping this afternoon and has cooked a curry for tomorrow night, yummy & he took the washing off the line and washed up after cooking, I must look sick
Hope the laptop is fixed soon Fruity They do sound like good weights Piper, did anyone give you any feedback after the scan? How was the graduation Sparkly? What an achievement
Your houseguests sound like they are getting you into the routine Lola Enjoy the hairdresser, which chair did you choose?

BellaHarry · 10/07/2009 18:55

Lola don't worry about measurments mine are all over the place as I've mentioned on here before, I find some mw are more accurate than others, some don't even stretch the tape out! Go with what the scan said. Oh and great idea about the whitch hazel! Great idea

scully · 10/07/2009 20:45

It's 5.40am here, thought you ladies would like to know that my waters broke at 5am this morning Still are actually on and off so I think it's everything going, not just some of it. Noticed a little bit of mucus as well on a pad, clear though, nothing bloody. Still just feel crampy, nothing else has kicked in as yet. Will ring the hospital in a bit and see what they say. Am so glad that it happened at a decent hour for us to get the girls organised and for them to spend the day with my dad and stepmother, that's my biggest relief I think

mibbes · 10/07/2009 22:13

OOh how exciting - all the best scully, can't wait to hear the news

ButterflEi · 10/07/2009 23:06

hi ladies
just a quickie from me so i havent read through yet but i will do tomorrow
scully good luck
hope all is well with everyone
an update from me... my appointment went very well consultant said all results came back as very good (with the exception of DH's volume but it was only slightly lower than normal) so no physical/medical reason for our lack of BFP but he has every faith that with better timing and luck we will get preg by ourselves he has said we can still go the assistance route and has put us on the private books with an open invite in case we happen to be able to afford to pay for it (not likely) but the prices seem more reasonable now as they have been reviewed its now £200 for clomafine instead of £400 which is our choice if we decide to accept any help
anywho im happy and i feel like a huge weight has been lifted i am getting back to my diet and i WILL have my baby!!
xx ei xx

Molliemooma · 11/07/2009 09:00

Scully Good luck
EI Glad to hear you had such a good appointment, you sound realy bright and positive, let's hope you get your shiny BFP very very soon

Huge wave to everyone else, off to do the housework now

teeheelaydee · 11/07/2009 09:12

Good Luck Scully Hope it's not too long and painful. Can't wait to hear your news.

Ei So glad your appointment went well and that you are feeling more positive about your chances. Just keep that in mind and keep going!

Oh - someone give me a kick up the arse. I have ironing coming out of my ears and the house is a tip and I've now got to go and do my most hated chore - expressing milk. Although I know I don't have to but it gives me a break at some point during the day or night. So much for 'me' time, although thanks for the idea Georgie I will be booking a massage or a manicure tout suite!

We are going here today. My brother is very involved in organising it, it's all very village fete with a twist and my nieces love it. Hoping it stays fine.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 11/07/2009 09:20

Scully Goooooooooo onnnnnnnnnn girl . Get that baby out. Oh, and send some labour vibes my way please.

TeeHee One word for you love, cleaner. Get one! Have a lovely day. Hope sun shines for you.

Ei Fab news about the appt. Hope this is the start of great things for you and DH.

On the reserve list for a sweep on Monday if they can fit me in. If not, then got def appt on Wed for a sweep. Had a good cry this morning after reading Scully's message (sorry Scully, no disrespect, just frustrated). Off to wash some kitchen floors and go for a 6 mile hike......

BellaHarry · 11/07/2009 09:33

scully wow weeeeeee!!! Go girl!! Best of luck hope it all goes smoothly x x x

cricri · 11/07/2009 19:20

Go Scully Hope everything is going well!
Ei So pleased the appt went well and that the results were all normal. Fingers crossed for a BFP for you very soon!
Teehee Hope you had a lovely day at the festival and that the rain held off for you all. Agree with Georgie about the cleaner, although I'm still looking for one myself atm so not exactly practising what I preach!
Georgie Hope things start for you very soon, the waiting is so frustrating. I only went over my EDD with Elise by a couple of days but it felt like forever!
Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend

jaamy · 12/07/2009 00:33

Hello, lovely lovely ladies!

Just a quick pop in to apologise for my absence...I don't get much chance to get on MN any more any you are all very chatty - this thread moves too quickly for me.

Anyhow...Scully - is it that time already? Hope all goes ok and new antipodean bundle arrives safely.

Ei - got a bit worried 'cos I lost you for a while. Loving your positivity. It's got to happen for you soon. x

Sending you all great big happy thoughts, especially Mollie and Sparkly

I'm still plodding along. Am currently CD 18 cycle 25. GP says he won't refer me for any investigations since I am not infertile due to 2 MCs in the last year and 2DDs already. DH and I have given ourselves a deadline of the end of this year. Seems really callous but can't keep putting ourselves through this terrible waiting. Seems like everything is on hold...

Anyway, if you don't mind my sporadic contributions, I'd really like to stay on the thread, at least until Ei gets her BFP.
