Wow Georgie, that's so exciting Any other twinges since then. And your poor dh, typical, about to start a new job as well Probably a good thing that the move has been delayed, better that everything is done before you move, even if you will have the baby by then. Just means you won't be doing anything except directing what goes where, you'll be too busy feeding the small person
Fruity I like the b&w floral one. Are there no more of that other one on Ebay?
Know what you mean Sparkly, I find it a little difficult some days to fill my time, am getting better at it though Had coffee with friends this morning and then bought some more carpet tiles for the garage. Just enough time at home to have lunch, put on a load of washing, check here (of course) and then pick up dd1. Have her parent/teacher interview this afternoon, dh was supposed to come with me but now can't so I'm trying to move it to an earlier time, so I'm not hanging around for ages.
Did any of you guys with Sky watch Jon and Kate plus 8? They've announced this week they've split up, not surprising really, the pressure 8 children must put on your relationship. She was a tad bossy as well.....sad for the kids though.

FruitynNutty · 25/06/2009 08:33

Georgie! Soooo exciting! Keep us posted lady!

Bella Aw that's wonderful news! and they've only been trying 3 or 4 months haven't they? Or have I got that completely wrong?

Scully What a productive day for you I've no idea what Jon and Kate+8 is but we don't have sky channels. Let us know how the parent/teacher meeting goes

So, it's a toss up between the red poppies and the black and white floral? I'm still really tempted to get a Lin and Leo with the 20% voucher for Blooming Marvellous. It'll still make it about £130. Soooo can't justify that price Also I'm wondering if it really is big enough anyway. As well as everything else I also have to carry around bottles which are really bulky - as well as bits for the other children.

SparklyPseudonym · 25/06/2009 08:49

Morning all,
I feel like Mrs Mop. I'm just waiting for the washing to finish so I can hang it out to dry ( if it stays dry long enough], have hoovered and washed the floors....I seem to have so much excess energy. Maybe I have been feeling tired and just not realised it?
Georgie Woohoo that's a good start. Hopefully things will kick off quite quickly (and won't last too long). V. excited for you. Your poor DH - how bloody typical!
Bella Great news for your sis!
Scully How did the meeting go? Bet your DD is a delight to teach.
Fruity Lin and Leo all the wayyyy. You'll get loads of use out of it .

FruitynNutty · 25/06/2009 09:17

sparkly You would say that, you're as bad as me for shopping but it's £130!! I was given money for my birthday but it was swallowed by my overdraft There's always pay day I s'pose
Come on you lot, convince me not to buy one!
Sparkly, please come and clean my flat! I moan about keeping my place clean but yours is about 6 times the size of mine! I just don't get the time, I'm too busy on here entertaining the children.
I'm sure the reason you're so energetic is because you're having a boy, I hear this time and time again. I was certainly energetic (relatively anyway) till the end with both my boys

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/06/2009 10:04

Morning. Still here . Sod's law the wee devil will be late now!!!

Bella Lovely news about your sis. Am dying for my bro to pro-create. Although think I will be holding breath til hell freezes over.

Fruity Just think of it as an investment! That's what all the fash mags say right?!

TeeHee Lola sent me a pic of Noah from Sat's meet up. OMG, soooooo adorable.

Sparkly Have you got the nesting bug early? There's some that would say it's madness. I on the other hand think it's great!

Scully Another busy day for you. How was DD's parents eve? Have got DD1's coming up soon. Hope I can make it as it's an important one. I love Jon & Kate Plus 8. That's such a shame. Although bloody full on job looking after 8. Eek. he's prob going to be down the pub for the next 6 years .

Lola How are you chicky?

Our lovely Mother's Help (Gemma) has started so she's here from 11-7 today. She's with us 3 days a week. Which means I can sneak off for my reflexology a bit early and have a quiet coffee.

Wimbledon is in full swing. Have already seen Leighton Hewitt. And there's LOADS of fit, tanned people in tennis gear wondering around the Village. Not the best thing to see when you're the size of a sweaty hippo with HUGE swollen ankles..... grrrrr. xxxx

mibbes · 25/06/2009 21:28

Sparkly I love that channel and watched it daily before DS was born !

Fruity I love the Poppy one too, it is gorgeous . The lin and leo is well big - is can be really wide when full up, if it were any bigger it would be too big IYKWIM. I prefer it a bit emptier otherwise it is quite bulky. Am liking Georgie's 'investment' idea - I always use the 'cost per use' argument when justifying spending far too much money !

Georgie how exciting that things are starting. I had reflexology the night before my induction and it worked but then things stopped. Hope it all kicks off for real soon

Bella lovely news about your sister

scully how was parent teacher meeting ?

And now for my news - I got to meet one of the thread ladies !! I am so excited, I never thought I would given that I live so far away . Ei and I met up for coffee, albeit briefly as I had to dash off to host a BBQ. It was great finally meeting one of the ladies and I even have photographic evidence which I'll post on here later. Ei's DD is a wee cutie and wanted to take DS home !! She was holding him and referring to him as 'my baby' . Ei's red hair is really funky and her sister was lovely too , her poor DH just sat quietly as us ladies chatted . Anyway, I am now mad for meeting you all so will try to engineer a trip to visit my family in Reading to coincide with the next meetup so I can come too .

Molliemooma · 26/06/2009 08:22

Scully Hope the physio works on your carpel tunnel, I know how painful it can be so its the last thing you need at the moment
Georgie Glad to hear your OK with the postponed moving date, it makes sense to concentrate on one thing at a time, sorry to hear about DH's accident, although it did make me smile imagining the excuses on his first day at work After your little scare on Saturday I expect at least daily updates from you even if its just "Hello" otherwise we won't know when to get excited!!
Bella Good news about your sister
Mibbes How lovely to meet up with EI glad to hear you had such a good time, can't wait to see the photo.
EI Aren't you due to test sometime now?
Lola & Sparkly Thank you for the texts

Well after my scare Monday I thought things were going OK, but woke Thursday morning 1.30 am for one of my many trips to the loo to find heavier dark red spotting, didn't go into full panic meltdown this time (dead proud of that) just lay there for the rest of the night and knicker checked! Went to GP again (different one this time) again he was lovely said I wasn't to feel guilty returning, if I had anymore problems they would bring forward my scan, he listened for HB again but unfortunately we couldn't get an audible signal, but the signal was triggered to show that it picked up a heart rate at the right speed, shame we didn't hear it as DH was with me. Still spotting now although mainly brown and took yesterday and today off work, feeling a bit low to be honest, only 6 sleeps til scan which I am now silently dreading

scully · 26/06/2009 08:54

Thx Mollie I have an Occupational therapist friend who has told me what type of splints to buy while I'm waiting for my referral from the hospital.
Hope your spotting stops and you can manage to relax a bit on the weekend, how stressful for you.
Mibbes, photo of Evan on FB are adorable I love baldy babies & how nice for you and Ei to meet up. Parent/teacher meeting went well, they said she is achieving what she should in all areas and to continue what we are doing at home Do any of you with older children, or teachers, use an internet site called Mathletics? dd1's school has just signed up for it and dd1 loves it. Wished they had things like this when I was school, I might have enjoyed it, and maths in particular, so much more.
Great news for your sister Bella
I'm seriously ready to put dd2 on Ebay, she is driving me nuts It has been drizzly here today so she may have a bit of cabin fever, but after me getting little sleep last night, she is picking the wrong day/evening to play up. It is now 5.50pm here and it's going to end in tears, soon.....
On a better note, I am looking forward to our 3 nights away, from tomorrow lunchtime
How are you doing Georgie, anymore twinges? I'm feeling ok, carpal tunnel a pita, otherwise not too uncomfortable really.

Molliemooma · 26/06/2009 09:22

Scully I had a tailor made splint and some wierd underwater sonic kind of therapy seemed to do the trick though as it's never returned

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 26/06/2009 10:21

Mollie oh chick. You really are being put through the wringer aren't you. Hope this is the last of your bleeds. Although a friend of a friend (they always are aren't they!) had a bleed every month whilst she was pg at the same time as her period would have been. Her DD must be 10 now. No use saying, 'don't panic', but maybe a few squirts of Back Rescue Remedy might help calm the nerves. it's safe to use in pg and really helped me when we were going thru the shite with the nuchal results.

Scully Ouch, carpal tunnel. Know what you mean about kids annoying you. Mine are actually being lovely, but it's my short temper that just makes us all argue. Not being the best mum at the moment . Have a very very lovely time away. Hope you get to put your feet up.

Mibbes and Ei Sounds like you meet up was lovely . And belss your DH Ei for being so patient.

So not even the slightest twinge after the reflexology last night. Plus had a digustingly hot curry and a bath with clary sage. Nothing doing on the baby front. Just some Braxton's and that's it. Ugh. Have now resigned myself to the fact that she's not coming anytime soon and I just need to stop whinging and let nature take it's course. Patience in NOT one of my virtues .

scully · 26/06/2009 12:17

Ha ha Georgie, this is the one time in your life when you have no choice but to be patient
I currently feel like a colony of something is trying to escape my stomach, clearly isn't comfortable because they aren't subtle movements
My 2 darlings are both asleep now, thank goodness. Was completely over them tonight, I have to say I was extremely short tempered in my 2nd trimester and wasn't pleasant to live with, I'm sure. Feeling a lot better now, but today they certainly knew which buttons to keep pressing.....
Have a nice weekend everyone

FruitynNutty · 26/06/2009 13:31

Afternoon girls.

Mollie There's nothing I can say except keep positive! I just hope you have an easy birth and a very good baby to make up for all the shit you've been through! Thinking of you xx

Scully Want to do a job lot on Ebay with my DS1 as well? Could put some of the mindees on there too - I'm pretty sure the parents won't mind Got a particularly whingey one today (asleep now thank god)

Georgie You've still got a couple more weeks, 4 if she's late! (sorry)
Now you have a mother's help, you have no excuse (except labour) to come and meet me for a cuppa before d-day

It's C's 4th birthday today. Just had a lovely chocolate fudge cake (courtesy of Nigella recipe). I've sent him into school with a big bag of sweets - luckily the parents aren't too precious at his school!

I've just booked my ticket to Milan for my hen weekend. Six of my friends have done too, just waiting for four more. Should be a good turn out I can't bloody wait!

Lin and Leo - You lot are awful! Now I'm going to have to go and buy the flippin bag! "Cost per use" [Fruity shakes her head]
I'd better wait till pay day though as I've just spent £200 on flights.

Poor old MJ eh. "Reports of Michael Jackson dying of a heart attack are wrong. He was in the children's ward having a Stroke"
Sorry, couldn't help it
Great artist but no great loss to me, hey ho.....

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 26/06/2009 16:31

Fruity Hee hee, wondered who would be the first to launch into the MJ jokes . Feel the same as you. Loved some of his music, but thought he was rather deranged in some of his life choices. Maybe his kids now have half a cahnce of a 'normal' childhood? Will give you a call to arrange a meet up.

Oh. If anyone happens to stumble across my ankles, could they give them back to me please. Am currently sporting a smashing pair of 'cankales' . Jeeze, I'd make a hippo look svelete today.

Scully Snap. I have an alien in my tummy too. God she's a wriggler. There's some damn weird shapes. DH and I play, 'guess the body part' as she moves around.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE . Lob us a big slice of cake please.

FruitynNutty · 26/06/2009 16:54

Great, looking forward to meeting your Cankles!

FruitynNutty · 26/06/2009 16:56

Ooh, forgot to say..............

I've bought THE BAG! Just went ahead and ordered it online. It's red just like Mibbes'

BellaHarry · 27/06/2009 10:53

Mollie sorry you're having such a shit time of it hun, just not fair! Take it really easy (as I'm sure you are) and don't feel bad if you call the doctor everyday!

Fruity yup sis has been trying about 5 months now so not bad going especially as she doesn't temp or anything. You and your shopping eh!makes me giggle.

Georgie I keep checking on here for your news. So excited for you.

Thanks for all your well wishes about my sister, it is great news my mum can't believe her luck!

Well I'm finsihed work now and about time I'm exhauted and had started to lose my rag with the kids; not my style at all.

Have a good weekend everyone x

SparklyPseudonym · 27/06/2009 16:17

Afternoon ladies,
DP away for the weekend so am enjoying some quality time with DD. She's watching a DVD at the moment and it's not long til bedtime .
Bella Congrats on finishing work. How long will you have off?
Fruity Happy belated birthday to C. Glad you bought the bag . How did the party go?
HTGG Swollen ankles suck!! You'll soon have babe in arms though. Hope you don't have to wait too long.
Scully Enjoy your fab weekend away.
Mollie How are things chick?
Mibbes Great that you met up with Ei. Do you still watch it now?

Went to a 10% off thing this morning at local baby shop. Ordered a new Maxi Cosi car seat with cosi toes and a carrycot, cositoes and shopping basket for the Quinny. God, I love to spend!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 27/06/2009 18:49

Wow, it's been hot here. Cankles are in full bloom . Have resorted to compression bandage soaked in freezing cold water and wrapped around left cankle to try and reduce the swelling.

Had Braxton Hicks ALL DAY. Actually pretty painful and had to stop walking for a while til it passed. I bloody hope they are doing something other than just being annoying . Place your bets now.....!

Rushed DD2 off to GP's yesterday as thought she had slapped cheek. But no, poor little mite has acute tonsilitis. She's feeling v sorry for herself and so horse.

Am cooking lamb shanks in herbs and garlic tonight with lovely fresh green salad. DH and I are going to watch Vicky Christina Barcelona on DVD. Might even treat myself to a snifter of vino. Actually what I really want to do is go out with DH, get absolutely larapped, smoke a few fags and have lots of sex .......never gonna happen. Sigh!

Hope y'all have a great weekend.

xxxx

BellaHarry · 27/06/2009 18:59

georgie poor dd hope she feels better soon. As for these bh, sounds good lots of jumping and walking lady get that bubba out. You must be so excited (and fed up I suppose?)

sparkly ooh you have a Quinny too? I hope to have at least 9 months off work, possibly a year if we can make it work financially; time will tell.

SparklyPseudonym · 27/06/2009 19:07

Georgie With all these Braxton Hicks (and prior dilation) you'll be having this baby in no time at all....fingers crossed!! Poor DD - just what you need. Is the sex a no go? That might get things moving a bit quicker?
Bella Yes - had my heart set on Bugaboo but DP really wanted the Quinny so I let him have his way for a change. I had a year off too (finished work at 29 weeks - was lovely - and then started degree when DD was 9 months). I was more than ready for a break from being Mummy by then. I'm hoping to have a long stay at home again but we'll have to see what we can afford.

Just bit the little miss to bed but can hear elephant-like thuds so expect she's dancing along to her High School Musical CD rather than sleeping...ah well. Come Dine With Me on full volume it is.

mibbes · 27/06/2009 20:41

Fruity yippee you bought the bag - you won't regret it ! It will arrive in a huge box and inside a lovely dust bag - I got mine from BM too

Sparkly yes I do still watch sometimes but there are loads of repeats. Funny thing is that I always get emotinal watching births, but when I was handed DS for the first time I didn't cry (expected to be in floods of happy tears) - I think I was in shock as one minute in early labour, the next he's been whipped out by c-section

Georgie I don't think you'll be long now my dear ! Get walking (none of this sex nonsense - AS IF that is an option at this stage - defo wan't for me !!) I walked for miles (around a shopping centre) the day my waters went

Bella hurray for no more work

Mollie I hope you are resting lady and doing nothing more strenuous than lifting a cup of tea.

Still haven't found the gizmo I need to download photos from mobile - will ask DP to have a look tomorrow when he is hungover and feeling guilty for going out all afternoon and evening and leaving DS and I on our own

Hope you get home safely Ei, it was lovely to meet you xx

SmilingEi · 27/06/2009 23:33

hi ladies
we are back safely from stirling where we met the lovely mibbes i can confirm that she is just as lovely as she appears here and little E is FFAAAHHHBBBUUULLLOOOUUSSS!! my DD hasnt shut up about him since shame we had less time than originally hoped for but hey ho next time eh?! the trip was very good and active and i now feel like i have climbed a mountain but i would definitely go back
mollie hope you are ok
bella great news about your sister. glad you have finished on mat leave now
sparkly hope all is well
fruity happy birthday to C
georgie sounds like things are moving for you i think you will have had the baby by... 3rd july shall we place our bets ladies??
AF not arrived yet but i have had a little bit of spotting so she will no doubt be here by tomorrow just in time to accompany me to see take that... but lets be honest who wouldnt want to come and see the boys in action
xx ei xx

SparklyPseudonym · 28/06/2009 10:23

Ei So please you had a good break. Let's hope AF stays the F away from you and TT.
Mibbes I'm the same but I didn't cry when DD was born. It's def the shock.

I've finally uploaded 20 week scan pics and one bump pic. I think I'm going to be huge again.

FruitynNutty · 28/06/2009 10:50

Sparkly I've commented on your new pics but I have to tell you again. You look absolutely amazing! A beautifully neat bump. Were you the same with L?
Ei Have an amazing time at TT! I feel like I'm the only one who's not going!

Just been helping our Lola with getting a Lin and Leo. Lola's is also winging it's way to her
We'll have to have a Lin and Leo meet-up and line all our bags up
C's party went really well. Beautiful weather in a beautiful location. Bought waaaayyyyy too much food though.
I bought a Pinata which was really good fun. The kiddies went mad for it I would thoroughly recommend getting one for a child's party (and probably for a grown-ups too!)

DP's taking C out to see Transformers at the mini Imax in Wimbledon today, not quite sure about a four year old going but he loves the 1st one which he's watched three times since getting it yesterday
I'm not going so I won't be getting the "awful parent" stares

SparklyPseudonym · 28/06/2009 10:52

Fruity Bump was neat with L too but was all at the front. I seem to be wearing a rubber ring this time. Glad the party went well. Just had a peek at the piccies.
