I'm very of the meet up and so pleased that a great time was had by all. Photos on FB are lovely. All mummies (mummy to be) and babies looking gorgeous as ever. We had a great day on Saturday and a fab meal. Got to bed about 10 which was bliss. Mobile was ringing just after midnight and it was my sister - DD had been quite ill (bug I think) and I had to go and collect her. Well thank God we had the car and weren't drunk because it wouldn't have been much fun waiting for a taxi at that time....typical that our one night together was cut short but am relieved that I didn't bring DD and her germs to the meet up. I'd feel awful if she infected all the other LOs.
Lola [waves]. You have such a beautiful bump!!
Cricri HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! [GRIN]. Hope you're having a fantastic day and being spoilt.
Mollie Am so pleased you heard the HB and that the spotting seems to have stopped. Hope you've had your feet up all day missy watching crappy day time tv. Did you ask doc about rash?
Mibbes I wish I was seeing them again. I didn't want it to finish.
Bella Are you finishing this week then? Lots of crappy day time tv for you .
Ei Owwwww the 2ww obsession begins. You know how much I enjoy it!! Have you been temping this month? Give us a peek at your chart and get symptom spotting. All the best love.
Fruity Do I need a Close sling baby shopper ? I haven't started looking at baby bags (yet) but doubt it'll take me long.
Scully Bet you're counting down the days until the weekend! Sounds like you'll have a fab time.
Georgie When does/did the big move take place? I'm losing track of time.
Teehee How has N been over the weekend?
Piper When is your scan?

Well the baby buying has started. We settled for the Quinny Buzz so have ordered that and picked up some blue bits and bobs. It's so weird after being obsessed with buying pink.

teeheelaydee · 22/06/2009 18:05

Thanks for a lovely day on Saturday girls, especially to Cricri for the moral support. We did pretty well and I couldn't believe how well behaved Noah and Elise were. So far no backlash from Noah, although he's been a bit unsettled today but I think that's more because I feel a little tired. DP's Dad was here for the weekend until this morning and he is HARD WORK!

Ooooh Sparkly I am so excited that you are having a boy. One of each, that is so lovely. Hope L is better now, such a shame that you missed out on your evening.

Mollie How awful, your reaction is totally normal if you ask me.I was so lucky not to have spotting as I would've freaked. Great that you heard a hb, there really is nothing like it is there? I think Noah is saying our mantra already. It sounds a bit like Aaaaagggggooooooo but I reckon that's close enough. Glad work sent you home and hope you've taken it easy.

Scully How gorgeous, just make sure you have the directions to the hospital - just in case.

Mibbes Sounds like you had a great time, am quite actually, can't remember the last time I really got to party.

Fruity Love Cricri's photos of you and J and I can't get over how well behaved C is. He is such a lovely little boy.

Ei Oh the next 2 weeks will drag for you - positive vibes and BFP dances coming your way. When will the first test day be or are you being good?

Hello to everyone else - must dash as DP about to come back with food!

HerNameWasLola · 22/06/2009 20:04

Back again! But possibly too tired to think of anything intelligent to say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRICRI!! Hope you've had a fab day and been spoilt rotten

Teehee am very of your DP coming back with food (though am scared to see my cellulite now starts at my KNEES WTF?!?) Need to go and start cooking shortly nevertheless...

Ei hope the 2ww speeds by for you, and ends with a big fat sticky BFP Do you have baby aspirin sorted to start taking immediately if it does, or do you not need it?

I think I have baby aspirin on the brain today. Heard this morning that friends of ours have just had their 4th/5th mc (not sure which) Mostly she seems to get to about 8 weeks then it all goes wrong, which is what's happened again this time. However, their 2nd (I think) mc was a little boy they lost at 23 weeks She had been losing fluid since about 12 weeks and the test results and prognosis just seemed to get worse and worse the more they investigated, so in the end they had to make the heartbreaking decision to be induced. They had a little boy called Henry, who spookily was born on the same day as Thomas, but about 3 years earlier. Even more spookily, Henry's due date was my birthday... We were meant to be seeing them on sat (he works with J and it's their works summer party...in our garden...) but don't imagine they'll come now. Even if she's feeling well enough physically I imagine the last thing she'll want to see is a pg lady at almost exactly the same stage she would have been at with Henry... The docs still haven't ruled out an ectopic so she's playing that dreadful waiting game so many of us know so well I really wanted to get her something today, in all honesty I think it's partly guilt. In the end I got a lovely bag and put in my copy of the Lesley Regan mc book, some Cath Kidston bubble bath and a copy of the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice on DVD. Got the idea from knicker checkers, no one ever has sex in Asuten, let alone gets pg so there are no pg women and no babies. Perfect! Plus it's really long (good distraction) and there's that marvellous Mr-Darcy-coming-out-of-the-lake-scene I hope she thinks it's ok, not that anything will make it any better for her They've had LOADS of tests, inc having their chromosomes tested (all fine), but bizarrely the one test they've never had is the thrombophilia blood clotting one. Can't quite believe it. They're seeing their consultant later this week and he's going to do it so that's something...

Anyway. Sorry to bring the thread down.

Bella am very of your last week at work! I'm not working much, but because I'm "only" nearly 31 weeks (how the F did that happen?!?) I feel like a lazy toad.

I LOVED seeing everyone on saturday, but I was shattered by the time I got home and spent most of yesterday horizontal! Reading and sleeping. Have done little more today and am a bit concerned about how tired I am. I seem to get really short of breath really easily - is that normal?!? I'm fine so long as I'm sitting down... Have another quiet day planned tomorrow, am meeting 2 friends in the village for lunch here (thought I'd do a Scully and show you where I'm going ) which should be lovely. One of them is due in 4 weeks Very funny, we saw them the weekend before last and my DH said to me in very scared tones "she's twice as big as you..." Yup. Going to get a lot worse bigger before I get better smaller!

Am slightly, well actually very, to ask, but does anyone have any good constipation remedies?? It's not even funny now...

Sparkly it's no good you posting about picking up some blue "bits and bobs" - I showed the others the photo of your blue shopping extravaganza on saturday Am really glad you're feeling confident enough to be excited

Mibbes I finally checked out your gorgeous photos on fb last night, hello mr blue eyes! They are amazing! He's going to be one hell of a heartbreaker when he'd older!

Oh crap. Just seen the time. Said I'd do dinner for 8 which gives me 4 minutes to make a risotto... Wish me luck ladies! Back soon xx

Molliemooma · 22/06/2009 20:24

TeeHee Glad you and N coped so well on Saturday, you'll be travelling the world next
Scully You will have to stop posting these links you know I'm very
Lola What a lovely present and very thoughtful of you, you are a lovely friend. I really hope your friends are successful next time, and find an answer to their prayers.

Still spotting a bit, but mainly brown now so trying not to stress too much. It is definately head back in the sand for me now, I don't even want to think about being pg until we have had the next scan, feel like I've cursed it by talking about it and making plans in my head, so that's all finished now no more "planning" for me

mibbes · 22/06/2009 21:22

Mollie you poor love, what a scare, but so glad to hear all is well with your wee baby. I had bleeds at 24 and 31 weeks and had to go into mat triage to be checked out - turned out to be a wee bit of cervical erosion or something, nothing to worry about but flipping scary when it happens nonetheless.

Sparkly, how exciting buying blue stuff - I'd be lost if I had to buy pink now ! After 3 nieces I was a bit thrown by blue initially but my life is now a sea of blue (although personally I prefer him in other colours now that he is bigger).

Lola firstly, thanks for comments on the wee man's pics, he is quite a cutie but then I am biaised ! That is a lovely and oh so thoughtful present you bought your friend. One of my friends lost her 2nd baby in 6 months recently and I wish I'd thought of similar. The shortness of breath is totally normal as baby is so high now that there isn't much room in there for your organs anymore so you only have a wee bit of puff - taking it easy is the only answer . I believe dried apricots are good for constipation, also supposed to be good for the labour bag for after the birth to encourage an easier post birth 'movement' IYKWIM, apparently esp with c-section (which I had but didn't have any probs in the dept) I had dried apricots with me but didn't eat them - too many people brought me haribo

Oh and bags ladies - what changing bags are you all going for ? Fruity has been consultng with me on FB on this matter of great importance - am intruigued to know what you have all chosen

mibbes · 22/06/2009 21:23

Sorry cricri HAPPY BIRTHDAY !! Hope you are having a lovely day

cricri · 22/06/2009 21:28

Thanks for all the birthday wishes lovely ladies I've had a good day, but I'm exhausted - I hosted an NCT get-together at lunchtime and although there were only 3 of us plus the babies, it still took time to get everything ready etc. Plus the babies were all unsettled so if one started crying then that set the other off. Not the most restful birthday! Fortunately Elise went off to sleep nice and early (she's still recovering from her trip to London I think!) so at least I've had the evening to spend with DH. Eating the left-overs from lunch Still, I've had some lovely presents - hot diamonds necklace and earrings, various vouchers, a book, a ring and some other bits and bobs.
Mollie Sorry to hear you've had such an ordeal today but pleased the dr managed to find the hb for you, which must have been a huge relief. Several of the ladies on my AN thread had spotting throughout their pregnancies, as indeed did a friend in RL, and they've all had healthy babies so keep thinking positive. The spotting is scary but you've heard a hb which is the main thing to focus on now. You've not cursed yourself by making plans at all, it's only natural to do so. I really hope once this spotting settles down then you'll have a trouble-free pregnancy from now on because you of all people really deserve to enjoy being pg. Big hugs to you.
Kate for your friend. How awful. Really hope next time works out for her. Very thoughtful gifts you've bought her, you're a great friend.
Wrt your other question - prunes??? I didn't suffer too badly so I was lucky. There were various discussions about it on our AN thread at the time but I can't remember the various suggestions. Perhaps do a search of the Pregnancy topic? Hope you got your risotto cooked anyway!
Sparkly Hope DD is better, sorry your evening got cut short but I bet she just wanted her mum! As Lola said, we saw pictures of the "bits and bobs" you bought... Good for you!
Hello to everyone else

BellaHarry · 22/06/2009 21:48

Mollie you poor thing glad all is ok now though x

Fruity I am leaving Fri whatever they say, can't cope anymore don't know how you did it!

Lola That is terrible for your friend, so unfair; it must be hard to know what to say in that situation.

Sparkly I can't wait for the daytime TV! I watch it on my comp at work whilst marking anyway

scully · 23/06/2009 03:03

Funny how you guys get over my beach holidays, and yet if I didn't have another holiday involving sand for a while I would be very happy. Mind you, I am just looking forward to the change of scenery and relaxing for a few days before life gets that little bit busier
How was your 4min risotto Lola? I've partially cooked dinner tonight, and it's only 11.55am Nothing too gourmet though, savoury mince which we'll have with pasta. How is your friend doing, awful what she has gone through, hope they get some answers soon I like where you're going, is that a cafe in a jewellery store, two of my favourite places, combined
Have a m/w check this afternoon, hopefully baby is still head down and behaving itself. Then have to rush back, pick up dd1 from school and take her to gymnastics. Am hoping for 1 quiet day this week
Hope you had a happy birthday Cricri
How stressful for you Mollie, glad you got to hear the hb for reassurance. Hopefully baby will behave itself now and no more mystery bleeds.
Had better go and make dd2 some lunch, poor thing will fade away apparently if she doesn't eat right now

teeheelaydee · 23/06/2009 07:17

Lola Prune juice, Prune juice - every day, worked for me!

SparklyPseudonym · 23/06/2009 09:30

Lola I second the prune juice. Have never managed to stomach it but have given it to DD lots of times. Are you drinking lots of fluids? You could always ask MW for a soft lax too if you're suffering. Your poor friend. I'm sure she'll be so greatful and love the pressies.
Scully Fingers crossed for baby being head down!
Cricri I was secretly pleased to pick her up - I miss her so much when I'm away from her. She did want me but she wanted to stay at the sleep over even more....So glad you had a lovely day. NCT meetings are always chaos. They tire me out. It is getting a little easier now they're bigger (until they start arguing).
Mibbes I remember liking your changing bag. Are you still pleased with it?
Mollie Thinking of you today sweets. Don't forget to contact MLU. xxx
Teehee How do you manage with visitors and a baby (especially when visitor isn't an easy one?). You're super mum!
Bella Three days left in work?

Exciting day in store for me - need two new front tyres on my car. Dreading the cost.

scully · 23/06/2009 11:35

Completely irrelevant to anything we are discussing here, but I just had a waffle, maple syrup and icecream - delicious

BellaHarry · 23/06/2009 18:22

Scully lol at your foody comment!

Sparkly Yup 3 more days at work...I'm so ready to finish now

CriCri sorry I missed the boat; happy belated birthday x

Lola when are you finishing work then? Next time I am finishing between 32 and 34 weeks.

FruitynNutty · 23/06/2009 21:23

Evening everyone

Sparkly shame about DD Is she better now? I saw all your blue stuff Must be a nice change? Are you broke now after having new tyres fitted? Cars are buggers
Teehee yep that is a right dodgy pic of me and Jack No idea what happened there! . Charlie is pretty well behaved most of the time but they all have their moments! I bet you can't wait for that
Lola your poor friends. Gosh they've really been through it haven't they Lovely pressie idea.
I'm not surprised you were shattered Sat eve. You looked knackered when we were wondering around Peter Jones!
How did your dinner for 8 go? (mad woman!)
Mollie How are you feeling now hon? HAs the spotting finished?
Mibbes I agree, Evan really is a proper cutie! I'd love to meet him and give him a big cuddle
I have absolutely no idea what to do about the bag situation. I'd like to go for that one I found on Ebay.
What does everyone else think?
Or these ones I quite like the black and white floral and the red poppies....
Bella I'm so pleased you're finishing work early. More reason to come and see me .
I carried on working because I had to. Also, I didn't have to commute to and from work like you do. Also I had 2 very easy pregnancies. I finished work at 38 weeks with C but could have carried on till the end - I was twiddling my thumbs for 4 weeks It's a shame we can't all see into the future isn't it!
I'm convinced it's having girls which drains women. My friend (who has a girl and is pregnant with a boy) said this time around she's never felt more healthy and energetic but she had no energy at all when preg with her DD.
Scully I love the pics on FB. You look fabtastic! What's savoury mince? Bolognaise? How long has your DD been doing gymnastics? C's been doing it for about 3 months now and seems to enjoy it. BTW, keep your food comments to yourself, some of us are trying to lose weight!!!

teeheelaydee · 23/06/2009 21:32

Evening ladies, thought I would come and post more sensibly rather than just shouting 'Prune juice, Prune juice'

Scully Nothing irrelevant about waffles and maple syrup at any time. Although I would swap the waffle for an american style pancake - guess what I'm now having for breakfast at the weekend.

Cricri Sorry, forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday. Next time get someone else to make you lunch.

Bella Get ready to squeeze every ounce of enjoyment out of your mat leave. The one thing I can't get used to is that time to myself is limited to maybe one hour slots - not even enough time to watch a film.

Sparkly You can't call a BED full of stuff 'bits and bobs' but the blue stuff is pretty cool once you start looking.

On the subject of changing bag, even though I still love mine I have always coveted Mibbes' bag but DP would never have carried it. I do miss having a handbag though.

teeheelaydee · 23/06/2009 21:36

Fruity I like the first one the e-bay one.

FruitynNutty · 23/06/2009 21:45

In an ideal world, I would also have Mibbes' bag

mibbes · 23/06/2009 21:56

I love all of the bags Fruity they are lovely !

Sparkly I still love my bag, it is a wee bit bulky when full up though so I rarely wear it over my shoulder. I usually stuff it under the pram, the poor bag is wrecked, but it has taken my abuse well !! Having said that I see other bags all the time and fancy a new one - I think DP would kill me if I bought another one !
teehee because it is red DP is ok about taking it out but he is rarely out in public IYKWIM - he takes it to his mum's and to the shop under the pram. He bought himself a normal messenger bag and a travel change mat to put inside but has never used it.

I'd LOOOVE to meet you ladies and Evan would love to give you all a big drooly baby kiss and cuddle - where you meetng next ?...

FruitynNutty · 23/06/2009 22:24

Anyone with or getting a Bugaboo who can get to London on Sat check this beauty out C's birthday party is at 3pm on Sat, reckon I could wing over to Vauxhall in the morning? Or is that pushing it I really wanna go!!!!! I neeeeeeed a sand hood for my bug!

scully · 24/06/2009 03:24

I love the first bag you had a link to Fruity, great price too. As long as you have nothing to do for C's party, you could get to the Bugaboo sale in the morning, along with half of London The pics were cute heh, I love the one of dd2 being a doctor, she's such a character, took it all very seriously though
Waffle last night was lovely, currently having some choc coated honeycomb Teehee, the pancake idea is also good, we have those most Sunday mornings, courtesy of dh dd2 badgers him for them from around 6.30am.....
dd1 has been doing gymnastics since she was 4, so 3.5yrs now. She started at a place in Guildford, doing kindy gym, and we continued it when we moved to Bne, to give her some continuity. She loves it and is so supple and bendy, it's ridiculous
$50m lotto jackpot wasn't won last night so will rollover to next week, so there is still hope of me joining your next meetup
I felt great with both the dd'2 pregnancies, and could have worked longer, this one has been a struggle most of the way through the pregnancy, I've put it down to old age though .
Saw the m/w yesterday and they think the baby is still head down, had better be or I will be p'd off in 2wks when I have my next checkup. Given where the hb was, I think it still is. They've referred me to a physio for my carpal tunnel, wasn't going to worry about it, given I'm due so soon, but as the pain wakes me up most morning by 4am, figured any relief would be nice, even in the short-term.
Enjoying a child-free day today, dd1 is at school and dd2 at nursery. Have to pick them up in 2hrs, but have done the grocery shopping, hung up a load of washing, folded up another 2 loads, and cooked dinner. Now I plan on sitting on my a*se until it's time to collect them

SparklyPseudonym · 24/06/2009 10:03

Scully I always find it so strange that you have to pick the girls up at 5:30am and then I remember you're on the other side of the world...
Fruity You can def make it . Car cost me £125 and that was with a 'discount'. I know the regional manager at the car place and he took the mick the whole time i.e. I thought you had tinted windows (because they were so filthy) and I've had to put a seat cover on to protect my overalls...oops!! Maybe it's time for a clean before I try and sell it.
Mibbes You can never have too many bag .
Teehee You're right - I've bought more than bits and bobs but I do like to spend money.
Bella Two more days at work....

Am finding it really hard to fill my time when DD is in nursery. I've already been to tesco, cleaned up, organised dinner for tonight, put in a load of washing etc and it's only 10am. Think I'll watch some Discovery Home and Health - I love torturing myself by watching these births.

FruitynNutty · 24/06/2009 18:24

Right girls, I seeing as I didn't win that lovely bag on Ebay I'm going to need your help.......

the ones I showed you before

Or

these ones which are in the sale but I'm not terribly keen

The black and white floral one is really nice in the flesh but I quite like the look of the red poppies .........

FruitynNutty · 24/06/2009 18:49

Damn, Babymel hasn't scored very highly in the reviews section

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 24/06/2009 20:18

Hello lovely ladies. Do you remember me?!

First, news in brief:

  1. Move has been postponed because the house just wouldn?t have been ready enough for us to move in. I?m ok about it. Can now relax and wait for Tedwood rather than stressing about going into labour in front of a bunch of hairy arsed builders. We?re now moving 22nd July.
  1. We had a really exciting Saturday night. Was getting some major contractions (every 5 mins and taking my breath away). Whizzed off to Kingston. Got into labour room. Was examined ? 2 to 3cm dilated. Then it all bloody stopped. Boo. Very disappointed. Had to slink back home at 3am knackered and with nothing to show for it.
  1. DH got into shower on Sunday morning, slipped over and bashed his head and nose on the porcelain tiles at the end of the bath. He split his lip really badly. So, fat lip, bruised nose and dented head?..and he started his new job the next day!!!

Now we don't have the move hanging over us, I'm going to try and get back into the swing of posting more regularly.

Ummm.....

Fruity Yes please to a night out. Would kill for a galss (or bottle) of rose sitting in the sun.

Bella Nearly time for your mat leave to start. Wooo hoo.

Scully Off to copy you and have some reflexology tomorrow. Am going to BEG the lady to show me the points that can start labour off. How are you feeling by the way? I'm totally fed up.

Cricri Happy birthday. You are brave woman to have NCT round on you b'day. Have you recovered?

Mibbes next meet up at mine in Wimbledon. Am guessing that might be too far too come. But love Fruity's idea of meeting half way up the country.

Lola Take it easy girl. Too much work and not enough play makes Lola a knackered hormonal wreck .

*Sparkly. A boy and a degree!!!!! What more could a girl ask for?!

Ei Hope all the BD has worked this month.

Mollie Hope everything has calmed down now sweetheart. I can only imagine how worried you must have been. Think positive sweetheart.

BellaHarry · 24/06/2009 22:02

Georgie Wow! Things are really starting for you then! I give you until the weekend then baby time! xx

Fruity I like the red poppy one! Looking forward to seeing you on wed xx

Sparkly I wish I had that channel! My sis watches it too!

Teehee thanks for that advice; I really am going to relax and be extremely selfish, last chance I'll have eh

I had some lovely news last week, my little sis is expecting her second baby; 6 weeks so early days. Really excited about our littlens being so close in age though; she doesn't live that close but we do holiday together as the hubbies get on well too! Fab eh!
