Nice to 'see' you Mibbes. Evan is looking gorgeous and so grown up. I can't believe you have a 6 month old either!

Mollie So glad you have finally seen someone who talks sense and is getting you a scan before 20 weeks. I can't believe that your GP & MW don't subscribe to the view that a happy Mum means a better pg! Waiting at the hospital is crap and so common-I just don't understand how they can get so behind and think it's OK for people to wait that long.

Just looked at the link that Fruity posted and one of the Dad models for the Moby is in Desperate Housewives - how random is that?

SparklyPseudonym · 12/06/2009 09:29

Mibbes Was wondering where you'd got to. Was going to send you a FB message. E is growing up so fast. New piccies please!!!!! Yes, we will be finding out the sex if baby plays ball.
Fruity I saw a Moby wrap in the sale and was sooo tempted to buy it but I'd never figure out how it all fits together. Maybe I'll have a peek at the Close one. Five more sleeps now. Not that I'm counting or anything....
Teehee First 12 weeks didn't pass quickly but 12-20 weeks has flown by. Maybe it's because I've had so many other things to do?
Scully Lowest my iron has been is 8 and I felt bloody awful. You poor DP!!
Mollie I didn't know you had the week off work! Why didn't you tell me? We could have gone lunching .
Lola Am v at your free pass. Am def planning a relaxtion day before this LO comes along.

Well offically 20 weeks today and glad to be at the half way mark. I really hope to relax now and just enjoy it.

Mibbes! Great to see you're still alive Evan is such a handsome little boy! I love the pics of him in his Bumbo with food all over his gob Your mini break sounds lovely, I'm very seems there's always one of you lot going away for a short break! I'm hoping one day we'll be able to do the same, perhaps if our mortgage comes down when our fixed rate is up
I'm so impressed with the bfing, it must be such a wonderful thing, in my next life I will be bfing my babies until they are 21

Mollie We were thinking about putting on a bus for the guests. Means we've got a lot of contacting to do! Not everyone has email or on FB so we can't put out a joint message to everyone. I was also thinking of phoning up a more expensive hotel and explaining the situation in the hope that they'll make some rooms a bit cheaper if we fill a load of them. Still, it's getting everyone to stay in the same place .....
Great news about the consultants, I'm so pleased he's so understanding

Teehee I also noticed that! The only sleb on there too. I'm going to sell my Moby and my Babasling on ebay and buy a Close.
I adore my Moby but it's such a huge piece of material, it just gets in the way when putting it on/removing it. Can't fault it otherwise. Sparkly looking at the demonstrations of the Close carrier on Youtube, I'd get one of those instead of a Moby and from what Teehee says, they should be just as comfy and supportive.

Well, Sparkly, you've made it to 20 weeks! Yippeeeeeeeee! 5 more sleeps, 5 more sleeps, 5 more sleeps! I remember it well
I really miss the anticipation actually, I quite fancy being pregnant again just to exprerience it again but that means another newborn to look after and not sure I'm quite ready for that yet . Well, I would love another but the flat is no way big enough and I'd have to give up my job as I'd have too many kiddies. Ah well, C starts school full time in January and there's always a drawer I can free up

FruitynNutty · 12/06/2009 09:43

Meant to say, I'm going back over to Friday Island this afternoon for a hair trial, can't wait!

SparklyPseudonym · 12/06/2009 09:47

Mibbes I've just seen the pics of E on FB - Totally missed them until now. How gorgeous!!!!!

BellaHarry · 12/06/2009 14:15

Good afternoon ladies have to be a quick one from
me as I'm interviewing students today in an office
with no computer! So checking m n on blackberry
which is not as easy as I'd hoped. My 'day off' on
wed consisted of me helping a friend out with her
newborn and toddler then visiting my new baby
cousin so not relaxing at all! Then yesterday I took
22 students around Hampton Court, got home and
cried with exhaustion. Better today though. hi to everyone, have a lovely weekend

cricri · 12/06/2009 21:24

Evening ladies!
Mibbes Lovely to see you and glad everything is going so well with Evan First tastes are great fun aren't they? Elise pulls some brilliant faces at mealtimes, I can't stop laughing sometimes!
I'm very of him sleeping through the night - not a hope here!
Teehee Got your FB message about getting the train together next Saturday, will text you next week. Lola, if you want to save yourself the trip to Liverpool St then Teehee and I should be able to manage, hopefully! (first time on public transport for both of us I think!)
I'd also like to say that the Close baby carriers are wonderful. Elise lived in hers up until we went to France. Unfortunately she's getting just a bit too heavy for it now I'm hanging onto it for a bit longer though, just in case she needs it again.
Ei Great news about your husband's new job
Mollie So pleased you've got a sympathetic consultant and another scan booked
Fruity Hope you can sort something out re accommodation for your guests. How annoying! Hope the hair trial went well!
Bella Hope you can put your feet up this weekend, you've had a hectic couple of days. Make sure DH waits on you hand and foot!
Sparkly Congratulations on getting to the half-way point Bet you can't wait to see baby again at your scan next week. Are you feeling lots of movements now?
Hello to everybody I've missed!
Everything is fine here, I went for a spa day at a country club and hotel with my mum today. My sister gave us vouchers for Christmas as she wanted to look after Elise for the day. A rather expensive option but I'm not complaining! I had a lovely pedicure (manicure a total waste these days - my nails are terrible!) and then we went for a swim in the pool before a 3 course lunch and a walk in the sunshine It was lovely and relaxing. Elise behaved very well for her auntie and my sister loved looking after her. She can't wait to have Elise come to stay overnight once she's a bit older.
Have a lovely weekend everybody - 1 week to go until our meet-up!

FruitynNutty · 12/06/2009 22:21

Looks like I have a busy day planned for me tomorrow! It's the big 3-0 on Monday and DP is rallying around trying to plan an early birthday for me I thought it was just for the evening but looks as though he's got something for us to do in the day too. Just trying to lose the two boys for the day and night which seems to be proving quite difficult! I think we've got them sorted at night and Charlie's going to my Mum's for the day but not sure what to do with Jack for the day
Trust him to start sorting out childcare at the last minute! To be fair though, his Mum was going to have the boys but she had to go and see his Nan (her mum) as she's not too well.
I'm intrigued to know what we're doing tomorrow........I love a surprise though
I'll let you all know by Sunday!

Oooh, everyone seems to be going for spa days

BellaHarry · 13/06/2009 09:06

Fruity oooh exciting I hope you have a fab day! I'm not going to a spa

CriCri yes I shall be putting the pressure on DH this weekend to look after me Glad you had a lovely relaxing day at spa, sounds fantastic.

Sparkly congrats on reaching the half way point! I started taking bump pictures every two weeks from then..can't believe the difference

Mollie sorry about the 'snot' lol; I seem to have a similar problem but linked it to pg as it started before hayfever season, wake up with a bloody nose each morning from absent minded/half asleep blowing (Sorry TMI) not sure about nasal spray?

BellaHarry · 13/06/2009 09:14

Mibbes oooh vino before bed..what a luxury I can't wait.

Teehee I love the idea of the footprints on ceramics, I made a mug for lo the other week and someone brought their little newborn in to do it, I thought then how lovely that would be as a keep sake aaw.

Lola good luck with the last few bits of prep, I understand the wobbles, I don't remove tags from anything for a similar reason; DH is extremely superstitious actually (sp??) Thank you for your concern, I don't have to work anymore, everyone is on my side asking when i am going to finish; I'm going to see if I can do another week or two.

teeheelaydee · 13/06/2009 19:52

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. I am just about to enjoy one of my precious alcohol units in the form of a nice cold glass of white. I didn't realise how much I'd missed it until I drank it again.

Did anyone start a thread for recommendations for our meet or have we settled on the place in the park?

Fruity Happy Birthday! Looks like DP is spoiling you - as it should be. Also you can have a trial of the close sling on saturday, with J if you want to hold off on the e-baying. Sparkly you are also more than welcome to trial, although thinking about it not sure a baby sling works well with a 20 week bump- don't want your LO to feel squished by N's big milk belly!

Lola Why the curtains? Come and lie on the therapists couch and we will investigate.

Cricri Got my ticket today so will text you to let you know where we are.

Right, wine is calling

scully · 14/06/2009 01:46

Hi ladies I had a lovely last day at work, managed a few hours work in the morning, one of the ladies had brought in cake for morning tea that was delicious then there was a presentation from the division dh and I both work in, which we knew about but I was surprised to receive a lovely large basket of baby goodies and a box of 108 new born nappies Then went out to lunch with my team, and they gave me a gift voucher for the reflexologist lady I've been seeing. She does all sorts of beauty things apart from reflexology so not sure what I'll spend it on yet Didn't go back to work after lunch, so was home by 2.45pm
Last night went out for dinner with some of the other parents from dd1's school class. They are a nice social group so always good for a catch up. We went to an Indian restaurant but I didn't have anything too spicy, don't want to tempt fate yet
Lovely sunny Sunday here, have a friend coming over for lunch today, dh is making lasagne. He's currently grocery shopping for it with the dd's so I get a quiet house for about half an hour
Fruity, are those markets still there by the virgin gym/kfc? Can't remember the name, but there was a company there that did baby hands and feet, we had ones done for both dd's at 6wks old and they look lovely, such a great keepsake, especially for dd1 who is now 7 to remember how small she was.
Did you take a photo of your hair or is it going to remain a surprise until the big day? Hope you have a lovely bday tomorrow
Don't know how you're still doing excursions Bella, I couldn't manage that. I get tired enough just being a parent helper at an excursion when I'm not pregnant
Hi to everyone else, hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Molliemooma · 14/06/2009 08:57

Sparkly Only 3 more sleeps now
Lola Hope you have had a lovely relaxing peaceful weekend with no hormonal outbursts
Fruity I see from comments on FB that hair trial went well, can't wait to see wedding pictures. Is C a pageboy? What will they both wear? Happy birthday for tomorrow
Bella No more outings, I felt exhausted just reading about it! Doesn't look as if there is anything they recommend for hayfever whilst pg so will just have to suffer, I wouldn't mind but red eyes, red nose and spots are not an attractive look
CriCri [envy Spa day! Lucky you!
TeeHee I bought alchohol free lager yesterday it's just not the same
Scully Sounds like you had a fantastic last day, lots of lovely presents and a nice evening too. Lucky girl
EI How you doing lovely lady?

FruitynNutty · 14/06/2009 09:06

Morning!

Well, yesterday went really well.

We began by getting the train to Esher, I was still none the wiser when we got on the train but knew where we were going. Then the train driver announced "Everyone for the races, get off at Esher!" So obviously the penny dropped.
I've never been to the races before. DP managed to get us some passes for the premier section so we had to dress up smart There were 7 races and we lost every single one Talk about bad luck! It was so much fun anyway though, our friends met us there which was also a lovely surprise.
Then, by the evening, I'd guessed my evening surprise........ A (not-so-much-of-a) surprise birthday party at our local bar! There were so many of my friends there which was so lovely. We had a bbq and a huge spread of food. The owner lays on a bonfire every sat night so we had that roaring beside us as well.
Then we went off to Kingston to a club, and to be honest I was shattered by that point and the music was a bit heavy for my liking - a bit too dancy. I prefer to be able to sing along to music and just act silly but it was full of posers.

So, all in all, it was a lovely day and beautiful weather too!

Got to go and pick up the boys in a bit, Charlie was at the party so I got to see him but I hadn't seen Jack all day so I really miss him In fact I think I cried when I got home as I missed him so much

Teehee I'd love a go at the Close next week, I'm so excited to see everyone!
Scully Yes Merton Abbey Mills is still there, I'm sure they do a footprint thing. Would be great to do. I'd like to do one of those 3d hand/foot castings but they look very tricky to do I've got Jack's footprint in his baby book - just used paint.

FruitynNutty · 14/06/2009 09:12

Crossed posts Mollie You know it's actually beneficial now to have a glass of wine a week when pregnant? I think it's because it relaxes the mum to be . I went off it completely with C but had the odd glass of vino with J.

BellaHarry · 14/06/2009 10:27

Fruity sounds like you had a lovely birthday treat(s) how amazing that DP managed to organise all of that...not sure my DH could! He's not even around on my birthday this year (6th July) as he's got the school play. So well done J! Hope you have a lovely birthday too; tomorrow right?

Mollie, Scully I have certainly learnt my lesson..outings a no no I just needed to oversee that visit as it's been a year in the planning; the culmination of an anual project with my Gifted students in the year aaaw aren't I sad. Really going to miss my year group, they'll be starting their GCSEs when I return to work, all innocence gone

Scully how lovely of your collegues to spoil you like that, almost brought a tear to my eye just reading it, you must have felt so valued?

I'm starting to read up on pre labour, as early as it is I have a new obsession; having acheing and pressure low down (bum etc) very frequent and strong BH coupled with sharp pain in cervix, baby definately lower and waddling more pronounced....I hope I'm not imagining these things as from what I read it could mean lo could arive in 4 weeks or so??? Is it in my head? Going to run it all past the mw on wed and probably be told I'm being 'premature' myself

SparklyPseudonym · 14/06/2009 12:27

Bella Think it's quite normal to feel pressure lower down as the baby engages. My DD was engaged from about 30 weeks and 1/5 engaged by 33 weeks. Still went to 42+1 though despite hind waters rupturing at 35 weeks. Mention to MW but don't be too concerned about premature birth as I'm sure she'll keep you waiting .
Fruity Sounds like you had a fantastic day and well done to J for pulling that off!! It's lovely to get the LOs back after a night away isn't it .
Mollie Oh alcohol free - haha! I've been allowing myself half a glass of wine a week recently. It's not a huge amount but I didn't drink when pg with L.
Scully Enjoy maternity leave!
Teehee Did you enjoy your wine? If you give N to me in the Close then you might not get him back .
Cricri Spa day sounds great. Glad you had some 'you' time - it's so hard to find, isn't it but well worth waiting for. Baby is moving quite a lot now.

Hello to everyone else. Busy day on Saturday with DD dancing, pram testing (still not decided between Buzz and Bugaboo), shed buying, church fete and then meeting friends. Am cooking lunch today and taking it easy.
I'm seeing Take That in two sleeps - how exciting!!!

BellaHarry · 14/06/2009 13:03

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 15/06/2009 12:25

Hello everyone. I've missed so much. Not much time for a proper post (again). I am sorry. Lurking is my main past-time at the mo .

Stitch coming out tomorrow on my birthday. Gulp. It's been hurting so much that I can't wait. The pressure is horrible and the BH are very painful as my cervix can't stretch normally. We'll see what happens. I might have a new daughter as my birthday present .

DH and lovely friend organised a suprise baby shower for me on Sat. I had no idea. Totally blown away to walk into restaurant and see 8 of my lovely friends there. I did have a little cry.

House stuff is FRANTIC. DH and i both laying awake at night going over lists and lists and lists of stuff. DH only got 1 week left before returning to work. We move in ten days. Am really getting anxious about moving when 38 weeks pg. But Ma and Pa coming to help and friends will look after girls for me. Just have to make sure waters don't go all over my brand new carpets.

Sorry, rather a me, me, me post. I will be lurking. But will catch up with you all on the flip side after the move.

LOL G xxxxxxx

Sparkly not long to go till next scan seems to be flying by now, my next scan is not until 9th July. Am so of you going to see take that
Bella you should deffo mention to midwife if your a bit worried. If anything it will put your mind at ease
Scully your last day sounded lovely and relaxing
Mollie WOW great scan pics! how are you feeling? I seem to suffer fairly bad from congestion/sinus since pg too, I know we can't take any decongestants but if you are really bad I found sea water spray very good, must chemists have it
Mibbes cant belive E is 6 months already! time is flying by! your holiday sounded lovely and relaxing
Ei how are things with you lovely? The month we got preg with the twins we also used this stuff here and here not sure if it actually helped or it was just coincidence.

big waves to Emmsy Lola Teehee Cricri and anyone i forgot to mention

not much news from me, started feeling movement my little dog was lying across my bump the other night and one of the twins kicked quiet hard, little leo (the dog) lept up growling, he got such a fright

Afternoon everyone,

Well I'm no way ready to be hitting my 30's but just gotta let it get me, nowt I can do about it. I had a bit of a cry last night "I don't wanna be 30, I like being in my 20's, booooooooohoooooo"

Still, having an ok 30th birthday. Same old same old really, working as usual.

Oh georgie You've just reminded me your birthday is just after mine! I hope you have a fab day tomorrow and that baby hangs on for a couple more weeks at least! You don't want to share your day with your baby, she'll steel all your thunder

Piper thank you for the b'day wishes

BellaHarry · 15/06/2009 19:08

Fruity Happy Birthday hun...don't cry, you may be 30 but you still look 21!

Piper aaaw lovely twin movement; how cute that the dog got spooked! Bet he can hear what's goin on in there too what with dogs having sharper hearing. I shall be quizzing my mw for sure on Wed; looking for a way out of work early as it is

Georgie good luck with everything; move, stitch and birthday and all! Wow busy days.See you as you say 'on the other side'

Ei good luck this month sweetie! Don't feel bad about feeling that's completely understandable. It will happen soon xxx

HerNameWasLola · 15/06/2009 19:17

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRUITY!!! So glad you and DP had such a lovely day on Saturday, just what you both needed

Ei I'm so sorry you're having such a crap time. Fruity's right though, it's defnitely your turn for some good luck, I just hope it doesn't keep you waiting for too much longer Big hugs on Saturday

Will be back tomorrow for a proper post, so sorry haven't been posting much lately, partly cos knackered, partly due to lack of laptop and partly cos having a real push to get the house together before LO arrives (still can't really believe it's going to happen, had a horrid dream last night that everything went wrong, but then the fact that I can't sleep longer than 3 hours without waking up to go to the loo isn't helping Saw a friend on saturday night who's 35 weeks, she can only go 2.5 hours at a time! She's shattered! Anyway, I digress (as usual ))

Can't wait to see those of you who are able to make it on saturday Can someone tell me the easiest way to get to the cafe in St James' Park? I've heard it's meant to be relly nice

Piper can't believe you're 20 weeks!!! Fab!

Back tomorrow xx

cricri · 15/06/2009 21:12

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Fruity, happy birthday to you! Sounds as though you had a lovely day on Saturday and DP outdid himself. Being 30 isn't that bad - I've enjoyed my 30s more than my 20s for the most part tbh.
Georgie Happy birthday for tomorrow and good luck with having the stitch taken out. Good luck with all the house stuff too - it's manic at the moment but it will be so nice once you've moved back in. Fingers crossed LO waits until then!
Ei I remember feeling like that too and I waited nowhere near as long as you have. As Fruity said, it will happen, it's not knowing when which is the killer. Fingers crossed for you.
Piper Lovely to see you Hope the ms has totally gone now and that you're beginning to enjoy your pregnancy.
Lola Which train station do you come into? I think the best tube station for St James is either Westminster or Embankment. I only know the way from Embankment though as it's near where I used to work. Whichever way you come, if you go through Horseguards, under the arches and then out onto the parade ground and across a road, the cafe is straight ahead of you in the park. What time are we meeting and where? The weather is supposed to be nice on Saturday - I can't wait to see those that can make it again
