Thanks Ghosty, it's so nice to have support here. I hope your pregnancy is progressing well. I might not be far behind you. Once I start on the Clomid I am confident I'll get pregnant quickly. Dh will think all his Christmases have come at once!

dino55 · 15/06/2003 22:28

Bunny2 so sorry for you, just keep on trying im sure it will happen soon, sending lots of luck and hugs your way.

bunny2 · 15/06/2003 22:31

Cheers Dino55. Feel really fed up so I am off to find chocolate and wine. If I am not pregnant I may as well enjoy myself!

quackers · 16/06/2003 08:43

That's a real pain Bunny 2 - hope choccy helped! Lots of love xxxx Fingers crossed for the treatment. Forgive my naivity - what exactly does that do?

LucieB · 16/06/2003 09:10

Bunny - sorry to hear your news
I have a friend who had the same irregular cycles as you and wasn't always ovulating. However, the first month she took Chlomid, she got pg - so best of luck!!!

LucieB · 16/06/2003 11:37

Dino55 - have you done another test?
How are you feeling? I have no real symptoms yet...
How is everyone else?

oops - sorry for the repetition!

bunny2 · 16/06/2003 13:23

hi again. Quackers, were you asking what the Clomid treatment is? Clomid fools your body into ovulating, it is taken on day 2 of the cycle, for 5 days, then, hey Presto, you should ovulate @ day 12 or 14. It should work for people like me who only ovulate rarely or not atall. The reason dh is very happy about this drug is he is guaranteed lots of sex every month. With my very long cycle, he misses out a bit.

dino55 · 16/06/2003 13:53

Hi LucieB,i have done another 2 boots own tests this morning and also 1 clearblue test(got to be sure),and all 3 have shown positive. Im actually due my period today(32 days) so yes i guess im PG.My boobs are sore but no other symptoms yet.How are you keeping?

M2T · 16/06/2003 14:02

LucieB · 16/06/2003 14:49

Dino - I am fine thanks! No real symptoms yet...but did a Sainsburys test this morning which was also positive so looks like this could be it!

quackers · 16/06/2003 15:03

There is a lot of good news here

For fellow ttcers I found this on another site :
Guaifenesin (however its spelt) is an expectorant. It does not increase your CM but it does make it more lubricated and stretchy/watery which is the most fertile type of CM. Its great if you never notice the very wet CM or EWCM but you do get creamy or miky CM, it makes it more fertile....

This is found in cough medicine for chesty coughs and a lot of people swear by taking it from your period to ovulation. Anyone here ever done that ??

hewlettsdaughter · 16/06/2003 19:59

Dino55 - great news! Bigbird - CM - is that cervical mucus? (and what's EWCM?).

My period seems to be starting today which is a) good because it means my cycle seems to have gone back to normal after an early m/c but b) bad because we were ttc straightaway

hewlettsdaughter · 16/06/2003 20:00

Bunny2 - chocolate and wine sound like a fine idea

bunny2 · 16/06/2003 20:24

The chocolate and wine were great. I still have symptoms though, I am overwhelmingly tired today, normally I dont run out of enery till ds is in bed but I swear I could have got into bed and slept all afternoon. The only time I have experienced this is when pregnant so I bought some more tests today, I will not be defeated and can still hope cant I??. Dh thinks my symptoms are psychosymatic and he's probably right.

BigBird · 17/06/2003 09:42

thats Egg White - apparantly!

bayleaf · 17/06/2003 12:25

Bigbird - if you can find it on the Internet then I have done it ( this is all before finding out that the problem was Dh not me!) Yes I've done the cough medicine thing - also lots of grapefruit juice as this is supposed to increase mucus - - even used real egg whits a couple of times - been there, done that, got the mug and T shirt!!!
( also homeopathy, herbalist, acupuncture, reflexology, zita west vits, wholefood diet....)
All because nhs sperm test are crap!

Hope you don;t mind me joining this thread. Been reading your threads for a while and with my annoying polycystic ovaries - which means i dont have periods or even ovulate regularly - I am due to start a course of Clomid. So - it sounds like Bunny2 and myself have something in common! I'm due to go back to the docs to get a final blood test result in 3 and a half weeks, then will start the clomid treatment - IF and when i get my next period. Love to chat Bunny2, need to relieve some stress!

bunny2 · 17/06/2003 21:33

Hi Egypt, I'm still patiently waiting for a period ... I am so excited about Clomid and sooo fed up with waitng to start the treatment. TO relieve the stress I can happily recommend chocolate and vino (the latter only in large quantities when the latest cycle is blown ifywim). HOw long have you been ttc? We have (that's dh and me) for around 15 months.

Egypt · 17/06/2003 22:04

Hi Bunny. have been trying to wirte back for ages but my computer is being a pain. have been ttc since christmas, not long, but came off pill a year ago and periods have been weird and infrequent since. so went to the docs about that really. have you have strange brown spotting at all between periods? mine has stopped now but then i have had 2 consequetive periods - hooray! docs dont seem to think i ovulated though. have you polycystic ovaries? or just infrequent periods?

Egypt · 17/06/2003 22:06

by the way - have just finished a bottle vino and is def a help!!

bunny2 · 18/06/2003 14:15

Good woman! I'll have to cut back on the vino now, I got my period so treatment can commence. I should be ovulating in about 2 weeks time so fingers crossed (but definately not legs). I dont have polycystic ovaries apparently (a very rapid diagnosis made by my gp as I dont have a facial hair problem!). I have irregular periods and my fertility doc seems to think this in itsefl suggests I probably dont ovulate. If I do, then it is so irregular that I dont know where I am. The Clomid should sort me out in no time at all. Re the spotting .. me too... dont know if it is related to fertility problems though.

How's everyone else?? Any more news?

LucieB · 18/06/2003 14:35

Bunny2 and Eygpt - best of luck with the Chlomid. How are everyone else - Dot, Jane, Bayleaf etc etc....
