OP posts:
LucieB · 13/06/2003 09:45

Have done 2 more tests - same result - faint line so pretty certain, I guess. Just need to get through the next 7/8 weeks now. Thanks for all your good wishes. We were doing it every day, quackers!!!

quackers · 13/06/2003 10:14

Amazing - I am am really chuffed for you and of course really jealous!!! You deserve it well done. Every day is amazing I don't know how you kept it up!! I have to say my DH said yesterday he would do it twice a day if necessary but I don't think I could keep up!!
So you'll be leaving this thread to join babies due in the new year! Please come back and visit and give us some words of inspiration!
Have you told your DH?

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 10:20

I take my hat off to you, LucieB. Congratulations!

BigBird - know what you mean about it turning into a chore... let us know how you get on if you try the ovulation sticks.

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 10:22

Hi quackers! How are you doing?

LucieB · 13/06/2003 10:36

Have told DH - he suspected anyway, but was a bit disapproving of me buying 2 twin packs of Pg tests and using them straight away!!! I am still being cautious as I know its very very early days yet. But can't help feeling a little excited too as we have been trying really hard over the past 6/7 months!!!
Best of luck to the rest of you. Can heartily recommend persona, by the way. Hope some of you will be joining me on a Feb 2004 babies thread before too long.

moosh · 13/06/2003 10:52

Yes, like many of you I am trying too. I am new to mumsnet was told by my big sis to join as it is a good advice network. I have 3.5yr d.s and desperately want another have been trying for bout 6 months off and on and have bought persona now to see if this will help. My d.s was a beautiful accident so I am a little confused with dates e.t.c. when trying for a baby. Must the sperm be present in the body before you ovulate, after you ovulate or it doesn't matter it can be both? A woman of my age 30's should know this considering I'm studying anatomy and physiology but I am really confused. Help!

quackers · 13/06/2003 11:22

Hi HD!!! How's my persona pal? Doin great thanks. Period due in a week and then that's it we'll be going hell for leather I think!! Can't wait. I feel so much better though after m/c. It's unbelievable the difference a couple of months makes to settle doen and get back to normal a bit. I feel like my old chirpy self again. How are u diddling chuck???
Hi Moosh!! WARM WELCOME. Another Persona user.
Well from what I've learned ( and this has only been since loosing one) that the best time is days 10-16 if you have a regular 28 dayish cycle. I got pg both times on day 11 as the sperm was waiting there for the egg on 14. However everyone is different and Persona is great because it will show the O symbol when u are about to ovulate (24-26 hours later) and the 2 blue lines appear too. This really increases your chances! I was told if you are both healthy you ahve a 50% chance of conceiving if you do it on the right day so 2-3 months in theory you should crack it - but it's not always that easy is it!!!! Good luck and keep in touch with us on here! Look at lucie B the bugger just got pg!!! She's a luv - another Persona user! Sorry rambling now - it's that Friday feeling!!!

LucieB · 13/06/2003 11:25

For what its worth - I had the 'o' sign on my persona on days 18 and 19 of my cycle which has been 28/29 days for the past few months....
Best of luck everyone. I am going to stay on this thread for a while so keep posting with your progress....

hewlettsdaughter · 13/06/2003 12:46

I'm fine too quackers, thanks for asking. Seem to be posting on this thread more than the m/c one now which maybe reflects my state of mind

Hi moosh, not sure if I can answer your question, but welcome anyway. I have been reading/posting on mumsnet for 2-3 weeks and am getting addicted - beware!

quackers · 13/06/2003 13:51

HD has a bad case of the mumsnettitis! Great to hear you're fine!! ME too - on here now as an official ttcer!!! Great stuff!! lovely day today - so sunny and warm!

BigBird · 13/06/2003 14:41

lucieB - you must be thrilled. Great to hear about the O on day 19 - i'm on day 18 at the mo and keeping up the 'every 48 hours' bd so i'll keep it up a few more days I guess!

LucieB · 13/06/2003 14:44

Try every day if you can until you are sure that you have ovulated - give yourself plenty of chance to get it right. I am delighted but as I said earlier, am trying to keep my feet on the ground too!

dino55 · 13/06/2003 16:01

oh god im not actually due till mon(32 days)but couldnt resist doing test (boots)and there is a very faint blue line,oh my god ,what do you think!

LucieB · 13/06/2003 16:30

wow!!! Double the good news then! Fingers crossed for you. Perhaps you should do another test on Monday/Tuesday to make absolutely sure. But as quite a few Mumsnetters said to me yesterday a faint line is STILL a positive result. So congrats and take care of yourself. Hopefully soon we (and some more of the contributors to this thread) will be chatting on the Feb 2004 pregnancy thread!

BigBird · 13/06/2003 16:38

congrats dino55, hope i'll b joining u 2

quackers · 13/06/2003 16:43

WELL DONE DINO!! I'm really pleased for you - you sound SO surprised. I am very very jealous and very very happy for you!!!! This has been a very inspiring week!!!
Lots of love for you two and your bundles of joy to be
xxxx

quackers · 13/06/2003 16:44

Come on HD, Big bird, Moosh, Sibble, Bunny 2 and anyone who is ttc at the mo. Lets make it a hat trick!!

marsup · 13/06/2003 18:36

Hi to those of you less successful than LucieB. I just wanted to say that I tried to get pregnant for 18 months (with ovulation tests and all the rest) and was just booked in for infertility tests when I finally made it. So there is hope! My only advice is go doggy and forget the missionary position. Not sure I'm a very successful example though.

marypoppins · 15/06/2003 19:02

Congratulations LucieB!

I've been reading how much you wanted to be pregnant this month and am truly delighted to hear the news. You give us all hope!

I'm ttc in September, but hope those of you on this thread at the moment will be successful before then. Best of luck everyone!

bunny2 · 15/06/2003 19:43

Dino55, fantastic news, well done. It's great to hear others getting lucky! Congratulations.

I'm still waiting, no period for nearly 6 weeks but with an irregular cycle, when do I start to get excited? I have done so many pregnancy tests in the last 12 months, it is getting to be a habit. Cant face doing one right now and getting another negative. I'll wait a few more days. Good luck to everyone else on this thread. Lets see more good news.

dino55 · 15/06/2003 20:33

Bunny2 how long has your longest cycle been?

bunny2 · 15/06/2003 20:50

Hi Dino, my cycles are roughly 5 weeks or roughly 8 weeks (very roughly) so I might be late now (if this is a 5 week cycle) or not. Its very difficult. I do feel a bit sick, did too last night. Can morning sickness occusr in the evening or is it just wishful thinking?

Ghosty · 15/06/2003 21:30

Bunny2 ... Morning sickness can DEFINITELY strike in the evening ... in fact that is when I suffer most ... it is to do with tiredness ...
I had classic Morning Sickness with DS ... throw up twice every morning and then feel rough till noon ... but this time round I don't feel so bad in the morning but get steadily worse through out the day .... and am a wreck by tea time!!
You might well be ... Have you done a test yet??

bunny2 · 15/06/2003 22:07

Oh Ghosty, curiosity got the better of me and I did one this evening . Negative . Iam not surprised as my doctor doesnt think I ovulate. But I am disappointed. Now I wish my flippin period would start so I can begin my Clomid treatmnent.

Ghosty · 15/06/2003 22:14

Oh Bunny ... sorry to hear that ... not fair not fair not fair!!!
Hope you can start the treatment soon ... hugs {{{}}}
