Hi again - just spotted this!. My Persona is still available - I have advertised it on the notice board so my email address is there if you want to get in touch. I am happy to either give it away or for you to give something to Mumsnet - your choice. Would just be happy to help to help you out.

bayleaf · 11/06/2003 19:26

That's really kind Luchar!
Jane101 - how are you doing? How long till you'll test now??
Dot I tend to agree that if all the other signs were there then you probably were ov'ing. Waiting with no hope is so boring isn't it? Give me the stress of hoping anyday!
I'm starting down reg around the 26th of June - which will mean stimulating from around 11th July - Egg collection etc 20 something of July.

Fingers crossed Lucie/Dino and any others waiting...

We had the iui on 4th June (last Weds) so now we're waiting again. I'm supposed to test a week on Friday. We're going away for a few days before that, so hopefully that'll take my mind off it a bit. I'm not too wound up about it so far, but still thinking about it a lot.

dot1 · 12/06/2003 09:25

thanks Luchar! I'll talk to dp and e-mail you - that's really lovely of you - thanks again.

luchar · 12/06/2003 10:20

Hi DotP. I brought it into work today so can post it out if you email by lunchtime so I can go to the post office - I'll do it registered. You will need to buy in 4 triple AAA batteries. I cannot remember exactly how to reset it though - something along the lines of putting in a new stick and holding the buttons down until it beeps?? Perhaps someone else knows? I phoned the Persona help line and they told me how to do it becasue I hadn't used it for a while so you could phone them. Luchar x

luchar · 12/06/2003 10:45

Sorry - just noticed that I did say in my ad that I had the instructions to reset but couldn't find them - I'm sure a mumsnetter could help too though!!

Metrobaby · 12/06/2003 11:35

The instructions to reset Persona are on the enclosed leaflet that you get when you buy the Persona test sticks. Also I'm pretty sure that theres a number on that leaflet where you can request a duplicate instruction booklet. I also have a feeling you can get hold of it on the website - not sure of the address though ...

Good luck

luchar · 12/06/2003 12:11

Thanks a lot for that! I've got the instuction book that came with the Persona itself but not test sticks.

BigBird · 12/06/2003 12:19

Hi - ttcing for number 2 for it seems like ages but prob only on 5th month "really trying" IYKWIM

So - i'm day 17 at the moment and we've been having sex every 48 hours since day 7. I must say it's getting harder to 'get into it' and for it not to seem like a chore!!!

So - if this month isn't the lucky month I will try some method of trying to pinpoint ovulation - probably will get the sticks and give that a go. I was in boots yesterday and they had a 'planning a baby' brochure that said on the 2 most fertile days (by the sticks) you should have sex twice a day....is that really the advice - I would have though once a day was enough. No prob if its the weekend but the logistics of doing that on a working day will be difficult !!!

Good luck to all you other tryers - fingers crossed for this month.

Also - anyone heard of a product called MaybeBaby which is reusable and tests saliva ?????

LucieB · 12/06/2003 12:26

Good luck BigBird! And welcome to this thread. I am also ttc no 2 and am now on month 7. Started to use Persona this month which is hopefully accurately pinpointing ovulation for me. As for how often to bd at the crucial time - who knows...over the last few months we have bd every night from when my period stops to when it starts again. Trouble is, am irregular. Now on day 30/31 and still no signs...
Best of luck.

BigBird · 12/06/2003 12:51

thanks and good luck LucieB.
Well I don't feel so bad now - EVERY DAY for the month??!!! How do you keep it up!!

LucieB · 12/06/2003 13:16

Its exhausting!!! But it hasn't worked yet...

quackers · 12/06/2003 13:21

LucieB - can't believe you're on day 30/31! I know you're irregular but any signs or anything yet?

LucieB · 12/06/2003 13:30

No signs at all...

dino55 · 12/06/2003 13:44

Really hoping and praying for you LucieB and everyone else....The waiting game is sooooooo hard.

LucieB · 12/06/2003 15:15

Could wait no longer...have just done a Boots test and have a faint blue line in the relevant window. Will be repeating in about an hour when my bladder is fuller as didn't manage the full 5 seconds with the first test. Still no pg symptoms though...

BigBird · 12/06/2003 16:11
LucieB · 12/06/2003 16:16

Hmm, just did second test, splashed the window and still only a very faint line. Which tests are the most sensitive - might have to pop out and get some more!

elliott · 12/06/2003 16:19

Lucie, I don't think the strength of the line has much to do with how much wee you manage, its more to do with the level of pregnancy hormone in the urine - as long the stick gets wet enough to get all the way to the control line, it is fine. You should find that the line will gradually get darker over the next few days - and that you might get a stronger one first thing in the morning. Don't doubt it though

elliott · 12/06/2003 16:21

I don't think you'll better the boots tests...

quackers · 12/06/2003 18:34

OH MY GOD LUCYB!!!! I am absolutely speechless!!!! I felt it today - honestly when u said u were day 30/31!! Any line is a line and a positive result and yes I believe boots are the most reponsive!!!!!! The line will darken over a few days as you probably did it the day you are due didn't u?????
Well that's the end of sex every other day!!!!!
I totally thrilled for you - did u do another test???

bunny2 · 12/06/2003 18:40

LucieB, fantastic news. I am so happy for you (and a wee bit envious of course). Can only echo, any line is a positive. I had one you could harldy see unless you held iy up to the light but I was pregnant. Congratulations.

jodee · 12/06/2003 19:35

Great news, LucieB!!!!!

sibble · 12/06/2003 19:50

Congrats LucieB am really pleased for you

dino55 · 12/06/2003 21:22
