New thread for all ttcers who want to moan etc...

OP posts:
jodee · 03/06/2003 14:11

Hi Bayleaf and LucieB, and thanks. Keeping everything crossed for you both too. (Bayleaf, I've been following your progress for a while, and a do so hope it works out for you this time around.)

I had a lap & dye when trying for ds and fell within 2 months (they found nothing, said I'd had a good "chimney sweep"!), so I'm trying not to build my hopes up too much this time that the same will happen after the HSG ... !

LucieB · 03/06/2003 15:39

Whats a lap and dye then? Good to hear HSG was clear. Best of luck everyone - we will get there in the end...

bunny2 · 03/06/2003 19:25

Well, I've got Clomid. Very excited, there's a 50% chance I'll conceive within the next few months. . Just got to wait for one of my (infrequent) periods now so I can start the tablets.

Jane101 · 03/06/2003 20:00

Thanks for all your good wishes. Hopefully we're all getting a bit closer to finally getting out of here (this thread I mean). I'm trying not to get too het up about this go. At the moment I'm feeling quite philosophical - it'll either work or it won't. I'm probably kidding myself though. Bayleaf, I'm a SAHM so I don't get days off. It's also impossible to follow the advice not too lift heavy weights (as ds is 2 stone) but I'm hoping that won't matter.

Bunny2 I hope the clomid does the trick - it'll be wonderful if it does.

bunny2 · 03/06/2003 20:32

Thanks Jane, good luck tomorrow.

dino55 · 03/06/2003 20:42

Hi, does anyone know........Can 2 blue lines on the persona mean that your ovulating.

dino55 · 03/06/2003 20:43

Forgot to add...i haven't had any o signs.

jodee · 03/06/2003 21:41

Hi LucieB, "lap & dye" is a laparoscopy, explained a bit more here

HTH

LucieB · 04/06/2003 09:04

Dino - thats what I was asking effectively, but I also got the o signs and also got ovulation pain around the same time.
Jane101 - best of luck. The more laid back approach to it all is probably the best way. From what I have read on these threads, conception tends to happen when you start to relax a bit....
Bunny2 - best of luck with the Chlomid. Will be interested to hear how you get on with it. My doctor mentioned it as something to try once we have done a few more months of ttc. Isn't it supposed to increase the likelihood of multips? That could be fun!

quackers · 04/06/2003 13:57

Hi! Just something about Persona. I rang the help line about these 2 lines and apparantly one measures oestrogen and the other the luitinising hormone 24-36 hours before ovulation. The second line gets stronger the closer to ovulation and then the ovulating symbol apprears in that 24-36 hrs before (only when established)! I will be using this like my bible when I try to conceive again in 3/4 weeks following m/c 3 months ago. Good luck all!!!

LucieB · 04/06/2003 14:35

Thanks quackers for being proactive! The info is a real help. Did they say whether the o symbol usually appears in your first month of using it or not?

quackers · 04/06/2003 15:04

Usually not but I have heard it can appear. I got it and hadn't used persona for 2 years. It even says the symbol will not always appear even when established. The first test on day 6 only one blue line. Then by day 13 the line was blue and day 15 the ovulating symbol came up! I was well chuffed! If you don't get the symbol I suppose you can look at the test sticks. I keep them and compare - sad I know but I am really looking forward to trying again! I wanted to this month but my sensible husband wants to wait one more period! Lucie B how long have you been trying??

LucieB · 04/06/2003 15:11

I have been trying for 7 months now and its my first month of Persona. I got two blue lines on Friday, Sat and Sun last week and the o symbol on the Sat and Sun - also got some cramping pain on Sat. So fingers crossed. Had a red light on day 6, right through to today which is day 22. So had a lot of exercise this month. Hoping next month the machine will narrow things down a bit otherwise will be exhausted!!!

quackers · 04/06/2003 15:18

WOW! same as me red days from day 6 too right through to 22. I got pg both times now on day 11!! Suppose the sperm stays alive for 5 days. You should get a quick result with persona its very precise! I could do with the exercise though to be honest! Just come back off hols and need to loose a bit really. I'm about 18 pounds heavier than I was with my first and should loose a bit before trying! Hubby wants to wait one more period as my periods are just settling. He won't even have sex just in case so we're really raring to go!!!!! Cramping pain is good!! I felt that last time and we jumped on each other - it did work but unfortunatley we lossed that one. Keep me posted - fellow persona user!!! I'm on day 11 so from day 8 next month that will be it - I won't be able to walk!!!!
xxxxxx

LucieB · 04/06/2003 15:21

Will do - my o signs were on days 18 and 19 which surprised me but ties in with the cramping, I guess. Best of luck to you - am really really hoping things have worked this month. Now have to wait and see. Got the green light today so can probably have a rest!!!!

quackers · 04/06/2003 15:27

Yes it's good when things tie in and you know what is happening. Don't think it matters does it what days you ovulate as long as you ovulate!!!! MOnth before I was day 15/16. tons of luck!!!! Let me know how you get on!!!

LucieB · 04/06/2003 15:31

Will do and best of luck to you and everyone else still on this thread. How old is your first?

quackers · 04/06/2003 15:36

It's so fascinating to hear all these stories and experiences. Best of luck to all!! You're all fab! I don't always post on this thread as it's not always appropriate for me. I read though!
