Thanks ladies x
Barrenbrook - You did the most important 4 days BDing, that's what counts!

Amberc · 17/10/2009 20:51

Oh barrenbrook - I'm a bit of an eejit with this you are correct - cycle 2 of CBFM but cycle 8 overall. BTW - if you think 4 times in 4 days is crap - we only managed twice!

Good luck all and hope no AFs turn up! I still have period pains today.

Shmoo75 · 18/10/2009 20:45

Amberc I hope the horrid ole witch stays away from you and you get +
Vicks I have my fingers crossed that all goes well on Tues and, it is great that your DH is going with you giving you supporte I must admit my DH would go with me as well. Good job really as, come Feb'10 if we haven't gotten lucky we will both be going to the Dr's together!

Sorry for being MIA but, have been really busy at work and home! AF got me on Wed 14/10 so, onto cycle 2 with CBFM and cycle 7 after my 2nd m/c. Now a little bit about me!: I am 34yrs old TTC#1 since April 2008 found out I was pregnant on cycle 1 but, m/c just before I hit 8wks, found out I was pregnant again in Feb'09 and, again m/c just before I hit 8wksMy last 2 cycles have been 33days so, that is good news at least as, since my 1st m/c they have varied in length from 21-49 days!!! My CBFM is saying I am on CD4 as, I came on on Wed after my alloted time window so, that is saying a day less than I actually am. Oh well, here's to me starting to poas from Fri.

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and, i will do my best to keep in touch better.

bubbalewy · 18/10/2009 22:41

Thanks everyone for getting excited with me about my peak, i just started doing temps as well and a got a dip on the day i DTD which worked out spot on with the CBFM s the next morning was the peak didnt think it was that i was actually Ovulating!! i was just noting it all down for reference..
vikks will be thinking of you tues, let us know how you get on.
barrenbrook Even though i only got in 1 try, im gonna test on Thurs 29th ya never know that will be 14 days after Ov which is my usual cd1, unless AF gets me of course. You did make me laugh when you got your 1st egg on cbfm, poor DH, i do things like like that lol i was doing a catching flies jaw dropping moment this month!
monkeysbum Thanks for the positive words, lets hope my swimmers have a speedboat ...

Hi all, I am feeling as miserable as sin today as of course I decided to do another one of those early tests. I though as 72% of women have enough hormone at minus 5 days it would be worth it *(what it says on the packet). Clearly came up negative. So extreme liklihood of not being preggo again this month but on the good side there is very little liklihood of First Response ever having to make any redundancies/go bust with my level of spend! I know I should not use them but I can't help myself. I have got DP to book in for a test which I thought would be really difficult. It's a case of ruling things out I guess. Ho hum. Hope everyone else is feeling more positive than me.

barrenbrook · 20/10/2009 18:00

Amberc Chin up chick, hope you're feeling a bit better today after your dalliance with the HPT, naughty! We know deep down how it's going to make us feel if it comes up BFN but yet we still all put ourselves through it, waste money and put our sanity at risk when we could just wait a few more days and see if the red tide of doom shows up

baby Have you tested yet?

How's everyone else doing? I've had sh*t loads on at work and then coming home to pack for the move so thankfully this 2WW is passing quicker than usual... well, sort of!

Vikks · 20/10/2009 21:00

Evening Ladies,
Well I went for my Doc?s appointment today and am freaking out a bit now! I need a slap!

I?m going to start the fertility injections which I have to give to myself. ARGH!!! Just so you know I?m not good with needles although the amount I?ve had over the past two years, I?ve gotten fairly brave. But every time I think of ?sticking? myself I feel sick. I don?t know if I?ll be able to do it. On top of all that it?s happening really quickly, my induction is on Thursday! AF due next week so my treatment starts then, CD3-5 I think.
The ?plan? is six months of the injections, the first 3 with timed BD, the second 3 with IUI and then on to IVF. I feel quite positive about moving on and my Doc thinks I?ll definitely OV on the injections but it feels like such a daunting process.
I just can?t seem to pull myself together today. (Sorry moan over).
Hope everyone else is well x

bubbalewy · 20/10/2009 23:38

vikks Good to hear your on your way to getting a BFP, Its all positive from here on, mind over matter with the needle! After the first few times im sure yr be ok with it.eat chocolate at the same time Although it seems a daunting process it must be a good feeling that yr getting there and so quickly,
Hope you are feeling a bit more together now and are getting your head around it easier.

Good luck at yr induction xx

cyncan · 21/10/2009 03:04

Vikks, all the luck in the world. I am sure things will go really well.

I on the other hand, have been ovulating pretty consistently out the four months we have been TTC, I have ovulated three all on days 21 and 22. But nothing yet. For some reason, my DH gets all weird when the peak days arrive and bding becomes an issue.

These last months we have had his family visiting... and that has really changed the dynamic of our relationship, and our daily lives, and of course had a toll on TTC...

His family will be visiting till December now.. even though we are helping them out it really sucks not to be able to live our normal private lives.

I really feel in a rut. I don't know how to handle this anymore.

Sorry for the venting... I don't have anyone to talk too about this. Every time I mention it to my DH we fight, he feels I am being too inconsiderate.

cyncan · 21/10/2009 03:06

...

Amberc · 21/10/2009 09:35

Vikks - lots of luck. We have decided that we are going to go down that route too and I am looking into fertility clinics. Are you NHS or private? How long have you been TTC? Did they find anything wrong? Sorry if I'm asking too much but am looking for info on what to expect.

cyncan December is not far away now. I can imagine it must be ever so hard having your lives intruded into. I think maybe your DH feels a little protective of his family which is why you end up fighting. My Dp is the same, I only need say I don't like the colour of his nan's cardigan and he's at me! I know it sounds crap but you have plenty of time and you have youth on your side. You'll probably find that once they've gone and you are more relaxed things in the bedroom will get back to normal and you'll get your BFP hun. x

Vikks · 21/10/2009 12:23

Bubbalewy ? Thanks for the words of encouragement. I like the chocolate idea, hope it works!

Cyncan ? Sound like you?re going through the mill, it must be very hard for you. Stay strong and get a calendar to mark off the days until they leave.

Amberc ? DH and I started out with NHS treatment for six month but everything was taking so long we switched to private care. We?ve been private for 16 months now and speed which you can get things done is brilliant. My ops were done within a week or two, this latest treatment has taken 2 days to sort out (I?m going tomorrow) and my Doc phones me at home whenever I need him too! But the downside is the cost. I wouldn?t like to work out how much we?ve spent. We often joke that we?ll be on ?the bread line? when we eventually do have children and have no money to spend on them. We?ll be poor and but happy!
We?ve been going over 2 and half years now, TTC #1. It?s me that?s not working, Endo, PCO and not OV.
I?ve tried loads of different treatments, so if you need any advice?

Amberc and Vikks! Thanks for the encouraging words. Yeah, I guess December isn't so far away anymore. I will hang my calendar at work marking of the days...

Today was peak day #2! Bded yesterday and this morning.... really hoping for BFP!

xoxo to all.

Shmoo75 · 22/10/2009 20:39

Vikks I am CD8 according to my CBFM today hun and hoping it will ask me to start poas from tomorrow and, on cycle 7 since my 2nd m/c but, this is my 2nd cycle using my CBFM

Cyncan Oh hun sorry to hear his family will be with you til December. My OH seems to run out of steam when I get my peaks like last cycle we did DTD but, he didn't cum{hblush]properly just abit iykwim? Bloody men?!

Well, here is to me starting testing tomorrow as, it will be CD9 and, my cycle being 33 days so, I might get my 1st High next Fri 30/10!!!! Who's testing soon?

cyncan · 23/10/2009 01:07

Dear Shmoo, I am glad I am not the only one with the weird DH on peak days lol. I am hoping this month is the one. I will be testing in 13 days, we managed to DTD on both peak days and everyday five days before!!!!! Weird and all he managed to make it happen.

I am really keeping my fingers crossed!!! BFP would be such a blessing.

Baby dust your way!!
xoxo

JustShaggy · 23/10/2009 19:29

Hi all - can I join? Had a miscarriage in June and will be starting to TTC again - it looks like this weekend - by using a CBFM. My head is spinning from the acronyms...! But here's my best effort...

TTC#1
MMC June 2009
Age 38
Cycle 1

CD ???
UCL??? (DH helpfully suggested UCL was University College London, but I doubt it .)

I'm on day 13 of my cycle now and the CBFM is on three bars as of today.

Does anyone have an idea yet what the average number of tries with a CBFM before one gets a BFP??

Vikks · 23/10/2009 20:48

CD38 for me today and temp was down so I guess AF will be along shortly. I?m hoping it?s soon this month I just want to get on with the injections. I met the nurses on Thursday and had the whole process explained to me and had a look at all the different injectors (ARGH!). They could tell I was panicking and they want to teach DH to give them to me. So I?m thinking I might let him do it to start with and when I get used to them, take over myself.

JustShaggy ? Welcome to the thread hope your CBFM does the trick! I?m not sure of the success rates but we all love our monitor on here, it takes out all the guess work. I can help on the acronyms though; UCL Usual Cycle Length and CD is Cycle Day. Lucky you with 3 bars, get plenty of BDing in this weekend! Good luck x

Everyone ? I think we are due another BFP on this thread!! Where?s that baby dust gonna fall?

Amberc · 23/10/2009 20:59

Thanks for the info Vikks. We have an appointment for initial consultation and some scans for me and a semen test for DP. Got AF today - my periods have become like clockwork for the last three months now which i am pleased about as now I can do BBT as well. They were all over the place before as I was trying to get the dosage of my thyroid hormone tablets right - now I am 'normal' yay! I know what you mean about the expense. My first appointment will cost £440!!!

Welcome Shaggy! I'mnot sure there will be an average as there are so many variables but CBFM certainly helps with timing. I thought I was ovulating on day 14 but for the last three cycles I have had a peak day on day 11. I was getting it completely wrong. Good luck!

My DP is the same with peak day weirdness. I do understand as it is premeditated so a bit functional rather than having sex because you fancy it at the time. I told him I would buy him a porno vid/mag but he wasn't interested. Men are mad right. Can you imagine joe average saying no to constant shagging and a bird who offers to let him watch porn?!!

Vikks · 23/10/2009 21:13

Ha ha! What's wrong with these men!!! They don't know how good they've got it. x

JustShaggy · 25/10/2009 13:49

Thanks Vikks. I guess that makes me: TTC#1; MMC June 2009; Age 38; Cycle 1; UCL 29; CD#15

Had peak readings on CD 13 and 14, so, we'll see. Rather than feeling excited and optimistic, I feel utterly terrified at doing something that might get me another MC... it was so awful. And then I feel guilty at not trying to be hopeful about something so positive.

Question: Do I assume that if I get peak days on the CBFM that I am ovulating - or is it possible to get peaks but not ovulate..? How can I test if I am or am not ovulating?

Also, Vikks - the softcup thing? I watched that documentary a few months ago on the 'great sperm race'.... apparently a significant amount of sperm is actually not alive when it comes out, and some dies very quickly after coming out. And if dying sperm is in close proximity to live sperm then apparently as it 'decays' it can kill the live sperm. (They were explaining why hundreds of millions of sperm are emitted but only a couple hundred make it to the tubes - and this was one of the reasons).

I became concerned about a mooncup maybe holding 'dead sperm' in amongst the live ones and thereby concentrating the 'toxins' of decaying stuff next to the living ones. Do you know any more about any of this because using a cup is something that appeals to me so I wouldn't have to stay horizontal for so long! Am I being seriously paranoid?

Vikks · 25/10/2009 20:08

JustShaggy ? Don?t be too hard on yourself for feeling terrified, it?s such a scary all-consuming process and you just can?t tell what?s gonna happen next. I can?t imagine what you must have been through with your MC but I know I?ll be worried it might happen to me when I get my BFP. It?s such a rollercoaster we are all having highs and lows each month; you?re definitely not alone.
To answer your questions: I think you can get a peak without OV. I?ve had 2 cycles now and got peaks each month but my blood test results said different. I think the monitor is picking up the right hormones to detect when OV should be, but my hormone levels were too low to say that I defiantly did OV. I?ve got some more results due Tuesday so I?ll find out for definite whether I?ve had a ?real? peak this month.
I didn?t know anything about the softcup toxins. I?m gonna see if I can find anymore info about it on the web.
