hi everyone, blimey that heatwave kicked in didnt it?! you wouldnt recognise it here cyncan - we're positively tropical!!
nice to see you ilovebeingamummy - like engel i wondered if you were ok. great to hear about the bfp - hurray!!! were you 5+5 for each of the 3 miscarriages? what a horrible coincidence. it sounds like a completely different story this time round which is brilliant. pull up a pew and stay with us to keep us updated!
cyncan - when are you going to test dyou think? are you being virtuous or doing it pretty soon? i reckon virtue's overrated myself. i imagine i might test friday - i might even not be able to resist tomorrow, but i know that might be a bit daft....
sorry to hear af got you in the end engel, you sound very philosophical about it though. that shag plan should keep you busy in any case!! just found out today one of my best friends is expecting twins - after the terrible, terrible time they've had that's the best news ever, and frankly should give us all hope the hurdles they've had. hurray!!!
how is everybody? are you on peak newmember?
x

Is it hot enough today or what? Absolutely boiling! Would normally have a glass of wine tonight but as DH are now on our de-tox programme its water all the water. May go wild and add a piece of lime

Trixel great news about your friend having twins, did it take her a long time to conceive then? Amazing how hard this ttc malarkey is!

cyncan- will be amazed if you manage not to test early, its so hard not too! A 36 day cycle sounds a bit better thatn a 40 day one!

engelbart · 01/07/2009 19:16

water all the way of course... This heat is getting to me!

NewMember · 01/07/2009 20:02

Yip Trixel I got my peak - back down to low today! I have decided to put my monitor away for a few wee months - trying to become a little bit more relaxed!

Time will tell!!!

cyncan · 01/07/2009 20:20

I was wondering where all you ladies were today!! It was a bit quite earlier today, I guess the heatwave is keeping you guys away from your computers! hehe.

It isn't that hot here.. but wait till August, I am sure I will be roasting!

I don't know when to test yet... as I mentioned earlier, I noticed a dark line on my belly button down to the pubic area....!! I don't know if it was there before... (wishful thinking!)

trixel my cycle is longer than yours, so I am not sure if I will be testing this Friday! my peak was just two days ago!!!

Ladies, if it is soo hot there, make sure you DH's aren't overheating their little sprinters...!!

that's weird about the dark line cyncan. You never know, could be a sympton! Whats your monitor saying now, is it back to low?

I have to remember to re-set my monitor tomorrow. It'll be a relief when I get the bfp so I don't have to remember to turn it on every day!

babyinacorner · 01/07/2009 21:10

Hi Ladies! Hope you are enjoying the sun

Engelbart - sorry to hear af got you too, sounds like you mean business this cycle!

I have ordered my pre-seed so waiting for that to arrive. Had my first reflexology session tonight as that's supposed to aid conception and was a lot cheaper than acupuncture!

anyone got any top tips to conceive??

Just worked out that my fertile time this cycle will be around my 1st year wedding anniversary (11th July) and as we are going away for the night maybe it's fate! (I could be clutching at straws now!)

engelbart · 01/07/2009 21:24

Baby that sounds promising! Would be great to conceive on your wedding anniversary.
Having thoroughly researched conception tips at work today I can't recommend enough giving up alcohol and caffeine. Apparently even one glass a week can half your chances of conceiving . But then loads of people do get pregnant when they're drinking/drunk so it blows the theory out of the water a bit!

I'm making DH take a zinc/selenium tablet everyday - apparently this is good for the swimmers...

Oh and you're not meant to go to the loo after sex - keep those legs firmly together for at least 30 mins...

I say all this and yet when I conceived dd I did none of the above its only because I'm now desperate that I'm doing all this extra stuff

cyncan · 01/07/2009 21:30

engel my monitor is back to low now. Yes you are right.. turning the monitor every single day can be a drag... Since I used to take the pill everyday, I guess this replaced it! I a also awaiting for the BFP so I don't have to worry about buttons or pills or anything!!!!

baby how was your reflexology session!? Do let us know how the pre-seed works for you once you get it!

Tips to conceive... I guess just to be relaxed... your anniversary might just be the key for success!

I think we could also include our ages in our tracker!

doh, of course cyncan - i lost my mind for a min there and forgot you'd just had your peak.
hope you're going to stay on here newmember even if you're not using the monitor for a bit??
zinc / selenium eh? that sounds interesting. if we're not bfp this month i might get on to that!
engel, it took her forever and a day to conceive the first time round, eventually managing it using IUI (turkey baster). then i'm afraid she died, which was horrendous. they have now spent the last 2.5 yrs trying again, didnt manage with IUI this time, and were on 3rd IVF cycle. so it's been a really long haul. couldnt stop crying when i heard today, such lovely news.
hope you're all well everyone, gonna try and watch murray's victory on iplayer now as i only heard it on the radio earlier.
take care

Morning everyone, am on boring CD2 today. Not sure what I hate most the start of the cycle or the end, both involve long boring waits!

baby- I see our cycles are almsot in sync again! I may have to look into reflexology, how exactly does it help you to conceive. Sounds very interesting and great if it works.

Trixel - hope you enjoyed the tennis. I didn't get the chance to watch any yesterday (stuck in the office) but off tomorrow so hope to get some serious viewing time in!

Newmember- I can relate to how you feel about taking a break from it all. I was debating about whether to stop using the monitor and to just go with the flow. We have to keep telling ourselves it can take up to a year to conceive

cyncan- have added my age. Am at how old I'm getting. Makes me wish I'd started ttc earlier!

I'm 31 -have updated the list, please check I haven't got your cycle day wrong!

Reflexology was lovely - I highly recommend it. The lady who was doing it had a sad story though - after I told her the reason I was having the treatment and my mc earlier this year she told me that she had had to have her baby terminated earlier this year at 17 weeks as he had serious heart defects. so sad

cyncan · 02/07/2009 15:56

Good morning ladies! Thanks for updating the list baby! Have you ladies been watching the tennis? I am not American..so I will definitely be rooting for Andy Murray!! So ladies, hopefully he will be in the finals with Federer!

Trixel will you be testing tomorrow!?

Engel you are right about the boring waits... but see it as a new beginning! AND you are NOT old at all!! It would make me ancient...since this is my first TTC!!

baby really sad news about your instructor. I really hope we all have really healthy pregnancies!! I really don't know if I would be able to handle such terrible news.

Ilovebeingamummy · 02/07/2009 21:37

Trixel - yes I was 5+5 each time.

My diagnosis (as the gp is rubbish) is Luteal Phase Defect. I was ovulating 7 days before the end of my cycle so progesterone wasn't high enough o support pregnancy. I think that is why it was the same day each time -it was taking that length of time for implantation to fail and the progesterone to drop so low to cause the bleed.

I had homeopathic treatment in in just 1 cycle my ovulation day moved back by 7 days to right in the middle of my cycle and I got my stong bfp in 2nd cycle.

Now I'm just praying it stays there!

Trixel · 02/07/2009 21:57

wow brilliant homeopathy ilovebeingamummy - that's an amazing result!
can sympathise with your reflexologist baby - we had to terminate a little boy between our two DSs. i was 22 wks, although we had known something was wrong since the 2 week scan (nuchal fold 6mm instead of the 0.2mm that our DS2 was). Never had the nuchal fold scan with DS1 - not really sure what made us do it with Pip, as we call him, fate i suppose.... We were given a 1 in 10 chance of Downs, but then further tests ruled that out, and anything chromosomal. So then we spent about 9 weeks having tests and have risk percentages thrown at us. As time went on and they found that it was cystic hygroma (fluid) in heart, lungs, brain, we went from a tiny percentage that baby could survive to no percentage at all, so we had to terminate at 22wks. not easy, but makes you really appreciate what you have.
anyway, on to more positive things - had a lovely day today with DS1's sports day at school, and DS2's Big Toddle at pre-school. Brilliant weather day for it!!
Are you british then cyncan? what's taken you out there? I just assumed you were American!

engelbart · 02/07/2009 22:08

Like Trixel I assumed you were American too Cyncan! Are you canadian?

Oh Trixel, your story is so sad but I know exactly what you mean about it making you appreciate what you've got. I keep looking at dd in wonder I can't actually believe I managed to conceive and have such lovely little girl! Must remember this every time she has a tantrum and I want to run and hide

Trixel · 02/07/2009 22:54

i know - it's amazing what we can do isnt it engel? i get totally awestruck by it.

cyncan · 03/07/2009 00:20

No, I am not British.. I am actually from Bolivia... pretty far.. he. I have been living in the US around 13 years though..

I think it is time to let go of all the sad memories, and focus on the positive ones!

Positive thoughts will bring us good vibes!!
