hi ladies,
nice to find there is a place where we all can relate. This is my first month with the monitor, I am in day 12, and waiting for the peak to show up.. I really want to get pregnant, so please with me luck!!

babyinacorner · 20/06/2009 18:45

Engelbart - don't give up hope yet, remember that every pregnancy is different. Having said that i'm feeling very unsure myself of a bfp this month despite all the trying! it's starting to do my head in. Think i will test on day 25 because that's how long my cycle usually is. day 18 today so only (!!) 7 days to go, will test next sat. you want to do the same? it might show up that early.

cyncan · 20/06/2009 20:01

I have been trying to follow these posts to start the conversation and cyber-collaborate on our quest of getting pregnant.. but was wondering if someone could help me out with the acronyms..? I would really appreciate it. Since there really isn't anyone else that I know using this monitor, it would be great to hear and understand all of you ladies

And once again, good luck to all of you! Can't wait till we are all with big tummy's

BellasYummyMummy · 20/06/2009 20:19

just a quickie to say hello and am still here!! been off on a conference for 2 days and off to a wedding reception tonight, love getting glammed up!!!

hello to all the newbies!!!

hope to see some BFPs soon, i am going to hold off testing as long as poss!

engelbart · 20/06/2009 20:21

Hi Cyncan! What acronyms in particular? Took me a while to get used to them all too, but you'll soon get the hang of it

baby- last month I started testing from 7 days post-ovulation, going to try and wait til at least 8 this month, heard you can get a definite positive then. Will be nice to have someone to test with.

cyncan · 20/06/2009 20:41

BFP, BFN....? Thanks Engel!

AnguaVonUberwald · 20/06/2009 21:50

Well ladies, those BFN's were quite right, AF has started, no luck for me this month.

Fingers crossed for the rest of you and here's to starting again next month!

Good luck all of you.

AnguaVonUberwald · 20/06/2009 21:51

Cycan - BFN - is Big Fat Negative!

engelbart · 20/06/2009 23:13

Angua, sorry about the BFN . So disappointing especially when we know we've been maximising our chances by doing it on the peak days. Here's to next month.

and Cycan a BFP is a big fat positive, what we all want!

cyncan · 21/06/2009 03:43

Thanks for the definitions!!!

Angua sorry to hear about the BFN!!! Keep the hopes up!!

I am so happy to have found this group, and am not the only one going through this... I hope we all get the BFP soon!!

Trixel · 21/06/2009 09:33

Gosh, cyncan you were up late last night! welcome to the group!! just ask about any other definitions you need - it's a bit confusing at first! sorry to hear that Af got you angua - what a witch she is! hopefully this will be the month for you.
we went out last night to a ball (PTA do for our oldest DS who's in reception) and were god for nothing when we got in, so didnt take advantage of our high day! but later i'm sure we'll make sure we get some BDing in.
No peak as yet, but perhaps in the next day or so - although have no outward signs as yet, no EWCM or nagging pain.
So what date is 8 days post-ov for you Engel and Baby - is it next Sat 27th? am going to focus some positive thoughts on the date!
how was your wedding reception BYM? hope you had a good night. we certainly did, but may be going to A&E later with my husband's ankle which he did something to whilst jumping around to House of Pain - it's gone up like a balloon!! what a wally!

bigbrofan · 21/06/2009 14:01

hi all, i got a peak this morning..... i was literally so excited.... i am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone, and sorry for all those who have had BFN's keep your chins up. xxxx

engelbart · 22/06/2009 09:53

Morning ladies. Good news about your peak bigbrofan, hope you put it to good use!

Trixel- the earliest I'll be testing is Wednesday. Not feeling positive at all, have really sore boobs which is always a sign AF is on its way . Have you had your peak yet?

cyncan · 22/06/2009 16:30

Good morning!! No peak yet.... It is my 15th day today... but again, it is my first month using the monitor... Any one willing to share their first month experience using this machine? I read around that peak doesn't usually show up on the first month?

Cheers, and I hope you all have a great day ladies.

engelbart · 22/06/2009 16:51

Hi cyncan. I got 2 peaks the first time using the monitor (day 14 and day 15), but unfortunately still didn't get my BFP! If the monitor's been showing highs for you then I would have thought you will get a peak within the next few days or so, but then I'm no expert, its only my second month using the thing.

cyncan · 22/06/2009 16:57

Thanks Engel. I will keep waiting for the peak... hopefully any day now.

I know friends who used it, and said that they did get the BFP on the third month. So I think that is what we should aim for if not sooner!

Bigbrofan good luck with your peak!!

engelbart · 22/06/2009 17:01

Cyncan you have given me hope! Was feeling really down today thinking that I've failed on my second month when the monitor says how 79% of women conceive by their second cycle... Will definitely aim for third month, though don't think there is anything extra I can do. Have done the deed on all high and peak days! Maybe this is the problem and I need to do it every other day to give the sperm chance to build up supplies . Hope you get your peak soon, the wait is awful I know.

cyncan · 22/06/2009 17:14

Noo don't feel down... I am sure sooner or later the BFP will come!!! But yeah... I totally think you should reload the troups.. so every other day might be better on the highs (at least that is what I have been reading) and both peak days.

But remember, don't get down, and don't stress about it too much....(I am trying to do that as well)... I guess the more we stress the harder this gets.

babyinacorner · 22/06/2009 17:19

engelbart -i have been using the monitor for 4 cycles now and no bfp! although i did have a missed miscarriage in feb so my body is probably a bit messed up.

this cycle we did every other day on the highs and every day on the peaks in the hope that the sperm are replenishing themselves in the day off! also - it was getting stressful having to do it every day on high and peak days - bd'ing was losing its appeal if you know what i mean!

cyncan - hope you peak comes soon, i'm sure it will soon.the first month i used the monitor i got peaks on days 11 and 12 and it was like that for 3 cycles. This time the peaks came on 14 and 15! no rhyme or reason.

cyncan · 22/06/2009 17:46

thanks baby! too bad to hear about the miscarriage, but I have heard of so many of my friends who have had one and then got pregnant and had healthy babies that I am sure your BFP will come soon!! My best friend had three miscarriages, but she never lost hope, and just last year she got pregnant with twins (normally, no ivf nor other treatments)... she now has two beautiful baby boys! So keep the hopes and faith up!!

bigbrofan · 22/06/2009 18:34

i had another peak day today - days 15 and 16 have been peak so fingers and toes crossed!!! this is my first month using the monitor and i know if i get a bfn i will be so gutted as i know i ovulated and bd'd on all the right days - so i am praying this month is the month.
baby in a corner i too had a missed miscarriage at the very end of january - my period returned march 3rd. how long did it take for your period to come back.... i had a d&c did you?? i agree - i think body is just getting back to normal before it can get pregnant again. xxx

Trixel · 22/06/2009 18:42

hi everyone! well, we have a peak day today, woohoo! seems a bit predictable though - day 14! and doesnt necessarily explain why we havent been successful for the last few months, as we'd always been assuming day 14.....
anyway, never mind - we'll give it our best shot, so to speak!
however, having bd'd last night, and planning to take advantage of both peak days now - that's 3 days in a row, not leaving much troop replenishing time! is that how it's worked out for some of you?
how far gone were you for your missed miscarriage, baby? we had one last march, where we found out at the 12 weeks scan. the one we had in december wasnt as far on though - only about 5-6 weeks.
engel - it aint over til the fat lady sings. do you think you'll still test wednesday?
baby - are you testing then too?
cyncan - that's lovely that your friend has twins now. did they do tests to find out why she was miscarrying? did she take anything like low dosage aspirin with the successful pregnancy?
can't believe hubbie has sprained his ankle so badly just before peak days - how inconsiderate!!

cyncan · 22/06/2009 19:01

big! good luck with your peak!!! I am on day 15 and no peak yet... but will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Trixel, I really don't know why she was miscarrying, her body was just rejecting the babies, I guess it was nature's way of saying it wasn't the right time... you too good luck with your peak... maybe a sprained ankle will be what you needed to get the BFP!

Good luck ladies!!!!

Jaggs · 22/06/2009 19:41

Hi All
My first time here and first time with the fetility monitor!
Hoping you can help me have two questions, firstly only had 1 day as a high day and no peak days is that normal for the first time?
And secondly I believe I am on a 35 day cycle, I am on day 36 and the "m" button has been flashing for a week, how long does it usually flash for before your period starts?
Thanks in advance :-)

cyncan · 22/06/2009 20:01

Hi Jaggs, welcome! I think the first month varies for everyone... I have had around 7 high days but no peak days yet. The m button, if I am not mistaken, flashes till you press the m button (or the first day of your period). If you are on a 35 day cycle and your period is late you might want to test to see if you have a BFP!

Good luck!
