Hi ladies

HC - hope you are a little more relaxed today. I'm sure everything will be fine - it's good that the line is bright! I think my temp dipped on the day I got a BFP then went back up again actually. Still got my fingers crossed til you can say AF def late!

BSL - so sorry about your friend. That really is awful. Sadly sometimes even the best doctors can't do anything to help . I'm sure you will be a great support to your friend this weekend.

dawni - lovin the head start! lol! I've heard about this ferning thing - is it more accurate than opk's then? This is your month remember! Be positive!

dawnas - can't believe you are half way! You must be soooooo excited about the scan! You can see loads at this one and you will hopefully have some nice piccies for us! Hope she is smiling!

PCH - so nice to be able to tell people!

willmouse - so glad the HSG went well and you are not in pain. I def think you should start BDing in case you are super fertile this month! Hope you have a fab time at center parcs!

ceebee - we got the mural from ebay, but it's made by this company online here. Ours was £35 plus postage which I thought was ok - you would pay a lot more if someone painted it for you! It was a total nightmare to put up - like trying to wallpaper giant sheets of tissue paper! I ended up in tears sulking in the bedroom when DP ripped a corner off! I blame it on the pg hormones! You will have to show us the finished room!

MJIM - hope the dc are feeling good today, and you are eating well! Think we need to see a piccie of Naomi's tooth when it comes!

Juanitad - thanks for your comments about 'tying up loose ends' - that has made me see things a bit more positively! There is only 1 inspector for 1 day so I'm only going to get one lesson seen at most! Still extra stress though! My last day at work is 27th Feb, but with half term before then I actually only have 4 weeks left! i can't wait!

bellie - 39 weeks! Def no signs of labour yet? I'm hoping I will have had mine by 39 weeks! It's still breech so looking reasonably likely! Keep us posted! I will check every day even if I don't post!

detox - yes, even the odd mm makes a huge difference at this stage. To see a hb before 6 weeks is really good going, so that must reassure you. I'm sure you'll be seing a little peanut in 2 weeks time! (see my first scan at 8w4d)

Hi to mandy, soosy, BB, majormoo, daisy and the boob!

CE xx

dawni - I would start temping tomorrow! You might just catch the temp rise as it goes up once you have ovulated! xx

Dawni · 22/01/2009 18:00

Hi CE Your very good at this, im not a brill reader of lots of threads, i tend to scan then forget what ive read !!!..... Ive found the saliva test more accurate than OPK's even though i still use them, mind you i have a job lot from ebay so im going to use them anyways !!!! With the saliva test it shows dots and lines when not fertile, but as the fertile time comes the test shows ferning which indicates its nearly time for ovulation, its so easy to use and see the results and you know well before hand xx

HumphreysCorner · 22/01/2009 18:23

Dawni-start temping first thing in the morning and sign up to Fertility Friend so you can start plotting it-you get complimentary VIP for so long. Then do a link to your chart so I can create a shortcut to it on my desktop like I have DawnAS and detox's. I'm not a stalker really.

Ive been looking at FF and dont understand a thing, i joined last month but done nothing with it as i wasnt doing my temp !! I will try it though honest....they sent me 20 lessons but ive not had the time to read them all, i will rope DH into it as he works with computers every day and knows more than me and link it to you

HC Dh has just done this link...(if its right)..hope you can help me

D xx

HumphreysCorner · 22/01/2009 20:20

Dawni-that link doesn't work. Go to Home Page Setup which takes you to a page where you can tick which info you wish to share. At the top of this page is Your Charting Homepage Web address with the http link which you copy and paste onto MN. In the biggish box underneath you can put Dawni's Chart so that this shows me and others whose chart it is. Back to the homepage you can set up your lovely Ticker. Then work your way down the purple menu on the left hand side as this is where you put in your details and set your temp taking time (settings). You need to set your Ovulation Detector to Advanced under settings/charting options. Oh, and make sure it is in celsius too.

Shout if you need more help.

Evening everyone

BSL so for your friend - I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. All you can do is be there with sympathy and hugs.

CE thanks for that link - I really like the one you have got so once the room is cleared and we can measure properly, I might order it - we really want to make the room special for Josh so he doesn't mind moving!

HC so glad things look better today - had me worried yesterday!

Willmouse glad the HSG went ok and have a fantastic time at CentreParcs - never been but I really fancy going to one soon.

Hi to everyone else!

Sam had his first jabs today - he screamed when they stuck the needles in but stopped within seconds and has been fine, if a little sleepy, since Have also bought a reward chart for Josh to try and stop him hurting Sam...with the promise of a new computer game once he gets 14 stars...am not sure that he understood the concept though

Am going to meet another Bonkers baby tomorrow We are having a meet-up from the PN thread and Juanitad and Patrick are coming! I can't wait although I am a bit nervous about meeting all these new people

Morning HC I will try again this afternoon....think i ballsed up the temp, i think it said 97.45 !!!!! I couldnt see properly and then when i knocked the thermometer off i realised i didnt have my specs on !!!! Im so useless in the mornings..seems more like a fever ...I had a grumbly tummy yesterday and poo'd alot (tmi) which is an ov sign for me yet OPK was neg and saliva test was positive !!

Gotta work

Later

D xx

HumphreysCorner · 23/01/2009 08:12

Dawni-your temps and in fahrenheit that's all so set your chart to that if you can't alter your thermometer. I prefer celsius. The good thing is you can view your temp again by switching it on then off quick as once it finds room temp it reverts to a blank temp. When I first started I panicked switching the light on to see the temp without waking DH with the beeping but now I swicth off immediately then go into the toilet to have a good look.

Back later, must get ready.

Hi guys,

Popping back on to say, we got the news last night that our friends LO passed away yesterday lunch time.

It's been such an eye opener and a shock to myself and DH! I feel so guilty for comparing the misery of not being able to get PG with the potential problems of pregancy and foetal development. I can't even begin to fathom the pain they are going through. I am pretty sure I'm not PG this month (on DPO 9), but for the first month since we started trying, I really don't want to be.

Anyhow...it's all been me me me. Sorry!

HC - (Bluestar gleefully claps her hands!!) I am just so pleased for you that you've got your BFP!! I feel like we've been hand holding for such a long time and it's so lovely that it's your turn now!!

Dawn - thanks, hun!! I am looking forward to seeing scan pix!! So exciting for you and DH to see your little girl.

Myjob - I can't believe little Naomi is starting to cut her first teeth already! It's truly scary how quick they change and grow.

Ceebee - how lovely that you're going to meet up with Juanitad! I also really hope your sticker chart system works for Josh!

CE - hoping the inspection all goes well!!

PCH - it must be lovely to tell people, but also a little scary. It's so hard though if someone asks you outright...cos you don't want to lie, but you might just not be ready to tell

Willmouse - hope you have a great time!!

Dawni - good luck with the temping! I started partway through a cycle and it was fine. In fact I manually plotted my OV day for that month. I found it was so good at helping me understand my body and OV time. The clinic were really pleased too, because it meant they could see I was OVing (as well as the 21 day progesterone test)

Daisy - It must be so hard to work at normal levels and still grow a little one! Women are an amazing creation! Take it as easy as you can, hun!

Detox - hope all is good with you and your little bean!

Bellie - eeek, and yay!! Another bonkers baby is nearly with us!!

Big waves to Mandy, Soosy and anyone else I've missed!

Oh Bluestar - I am so sorry to hear the news to you and your friends.

HC - I take it you are still positive this morning?

MJIM - I think I am near(ish) to you, I am near reigate, but think that I will need to wait until beanie arrives before I think of coffee anywhere !! maybe even longer if go to 41 weeks and c/s.
Has Naomi got her tooth yet?

PCH - I loved telling people, but only when I was ready - really hated being forced to let it slip out!! Enjoy the fun of telling them though!

Hope you have a good day Ceebee and Juanitad - it is great putting faces to names - and all those little babies too!!

CE- I think there is still plenty of time for your little one to turn yet. Mine is head down and 3/5 engaged but seems to be quite comfortable in there! Would like to wait unitl Sunday if possible as dd has asked really nicely to go swimming with dh tomorrow and it would be nice if she could get that as she doesn't ask to go anywhere very much. She must be getting tired of me saying yes as long as beanie is not coming then!! You must be looking forward to your mat leave - have you got much to do when you finally get there or have you been very organised?

Hope everyone else is ok

Enjoy your holiday Willmouse!!

BlueStar2009 · 23/01/2009 09:28

Bellie and Myjob - I might be quite near you guys too. No LO to bring along to have a coffee with, but lots of auntie experience! I'm inside the M25 around junction 3-4

daisyj · 23/01/2009 09:41

Bluestar - so sorry, hon . Don't feel guilty. Everyone has their own pain to deal with - and you've not been me, me, me at all. for you all.
I feel bad myself, complaining about how hard work is, when I've been blessed with such an easy pregnancy (so far). It's all relative, though, isn't it? That's why it's so nice to be here where everyone is so supportive and non-judgy.

CE - I saw my acupuncturist yesterday, and mentioned to her that the midwife who does our antenatal classes had said that moxibustion (where the acupuncturist burns a herb at certain points on your body - sounds weird but feels nice) can help to turn the baby, and she said it almost never fails to work. Might be worth a try... They usually begin treatment around 32 weeks, I think. Bo's been transverse for ages, and I have a heart-shaped uterus (which makes breech more likely) so I'll definitely be trying it. Also, try all-fours for fifteen mins each evening to encourage bubs to go head down.

for your friend, mjim. Dawni - fingers crossed this will be your month. I got so confused with temping that I gave it up really quickly. The month we conceived I never even got a proper positive on an OPK test... If you're regular (and all other things being equal) I think every other day for 10 days is bound to hit the mark eventually - well, did for us, after a while.

xx to all

Dawni · 23/01/2009 10:08

Just home for a quick brew, will read properly later....just switched on thermometer and it was 97.45, plus a chart i had in the drawer is if farenheit, so till i get to grips i will leave it for the time being....good idea though HC of taking it to the bathroom, i didnt realise it showed last temp taken when turned on !!! It maybe not be as hard as i thought.

Gotta go

Catch ya's later ladies

Bluestar -so and sorry for your friends loss.

daisyj · 23/01/2009 14:21

bluestear - sorry . I've just realised it sounds as if I'm saying that having work gripes while pregnant is relative in some way to losing a child, which is most certainly not how I meant it. Just meant that you shouldn't be hard on yourself for feeling your own grief, as well as your friends. x

BlueStar2009 · 23/01/2009 15:12

Hi guys,

I'm okay...thanks for your sympathy and please don't worry about me taking anthing the wrong way, Daisy. I had to go back re-read what you wrote and I still thought it was all fine!

Myjob - thank you so much for the advice!! It's not nice that you've been through this with a friend, but I'm very grateful for the help. It's hard to know how to behave, but I will never shy away from letting them talk about their DD! And I know they will be thrilled for us if I do get PG! They have been nagging us!

Bluestar x

HumphreysCorner · 23/01/2009 16:21

Afternoon all

Bluestar-that is so very sad about the lo. My heart goes out to the family. I really hope you get a deserved BFP soon but you are right about worrying about development etc.

Dawni-you will get the hang of temping just don't jump out of bed for a wee before taking your temp.

Bellie-you still PG?

My temp has dipped slightly but is still fairly high. Did another test and it was still clearly positive just don't feel PG so until symptoms properly kick in I am pretending I'm not PG. The next test I will do will be the freebie digital from MN which has the conception window in it so if I wait a week it should say a longer conception time.

Have been out to lunch at a garden centre today with mum and dad and I really enjoyed it. Bitterly cold though

Must start thinking about getting tea ready so big wave to everyone!

Definately still PG!! Have had some lower back pain today but that is all!

Dawni · 23/01/2009 17:14

Hi HC-Bellie-mjim-Bluestar-daisy-detox-CE-CeeBee-DawnAS- and anyone ive missed (sorry)!!, this thread moves so fast its hard to keep up !!!!

HC I cant get the hang of FF at all and have'nt a clue how to link it to you, ive tried and failed, i printed off what you told me so i'll get DH to have a go later....

Im still having nagging thoughts that ive already ovulated !! I done an OPK on CD8 which was very faint and since then they've all been negative even though saliva test showed ferning, but todays was'nt as clear as they have been !! I think we'll just carry on BDing every other day but im not going to hold out much hope (again).

D xx

DawnAS · 23/01/2009 17:33

Hello all,

BSL, I'm so sorry hun. I must say that I haven't been through this experience with a friend but I can imagine it must be really awful. MJIM's advice is excellent though. This thread is just a God-send at times. Loads of thoughts and hugs to you and your friend hun.

HC, the only reason I knew I was PG was constipation!! I waited to use the free CB Digital one aswell and mine said 3+ weeks - I was thrilled!!

CE, how are you hun? I'm going to get DH to take some bump pics tomorrow so I can parade them on my profile page!! He keeps laughing at me as I can't even do men's shirts up now!!

Dawni, how are you doing today hun. Keeping everything crossed for you for this month!!

Waves to MJIM, Daisy, Bellie and everyone else that I've missed!!

So, this is a TMI Alert!!! But I would really welcome some advice or just some peace of mind from you ladies... even though I've spoken to the midwife, I'd still like some more reassurance....

So, last night DH and I did some BDing for the first time in a month (poor DH decorating every night until the the early hours isn't really condusive to a BD-Fest...) and it was lovely as always. However, about an hour after we'd fallen asleep, I was woken up by stomach cramps, that stretched around to my lower back. They came in waves, every few seconds and were really uncomfortable. But strangely when I stood up to go to the loo, expecting the worst, they stopped!! When I got back into bed and was laying down, they started again and our little girl was kicking around like mad, very low down. I started to worry that she was distressed. Anyway, eventually, I drifted back off to sleep (after two hours of pain!!) and when I woke up, the pain was gone. I called the midwife who said that it sounded like Braxton Hicks contractions that can be brought on by BDing. Has anyone else experienced this? The pains weren't unbearable, just felt like stomach ache almost, like when you've eaten an under-ripe piece of fruit...

Anyway, at least I know the real reason now why they call it "Baby-Dancing" - 'cos our little girl started up an hour after we'd finished our dancing - ha ha -

Any help or advice gratefully received!!
