Have just done the test Willmouse and it took ages after the PG word to come up with 3+. Last time I did it with FMU the 3+ came up at the same time as the PG. Gave me heart failure I can tell you!

Willmouse I phoned the docs and changed the day for blood test, earliest i could get will be CD22, im too busy at work the day before and nurses only do bloods before lunch as they get picked up at 1pm. Should be ok though. I dont want to sound a mardy cow, but we really need lots of TTCers here, im feeling so left out im lonely these days !!! (sorry) {big sigh} xx

Evening all

Loving all the talk of baby gear Unfortunately for Sam, he ain't getting anything new that is big (apart from the highchair) as we just haven't got any room at all. I have bought him a playtray for the old Bumbo so he can sit and play in that in a few weeks

Have been looking at this for when Sam is ready for weaning. It looks fantastic - it steams, blends, purees, heats and defrosts - so basically you can do everything in it that you need for weaning. Unfortunately it is about £70 (Dawn maybe something for you to consider from your SIL??) so not sure we can afford it but I really really want it

MrsPuddleduck · 19/02/2009 09:19

Hi all, glad to hear everyone is OK

I can't believe how many gadgets there are for little people! LOL. If we have another boy and people pester us to death for things to buy I may ask for money for the jumperoo thingy!

Dawni - I think day 22 will be fine.

MJIM - we bought a crib last time as imo moses baskets are rubbish. DS1 slept in his for about two weeks at best - it was the worst buy ever.

Ceebee - loving the blender/purreeer/defroster thingy! Does it go to Tesco and get the ingredients too! I will make do with a hand blender again (£12 from Asda).

HC - glad the test worked OK. Are you still feeling rough?

I have decided I am going to Dr on Mon to confirm etc. Have been having palpatations and this morning woke up and had had a nose bleed which is an absolute first for me. DH bless keeps going on and on about how the symptoms are DEFINITELY different this time and therefore it MUST be a girl wishful thinking springs to mind......

LaDiDaDi · 19/02/2009 10:24

Hey Dawni, I'm still ttc too.

It's very maddening when it's all out of your control isn't it?

I get excited after sex thinking that "maybe we just made a baby" but then I hate the feeling of waiting to find out and knowing that you might be disapppointed. It's worse than that feeling after an exam when you have to wait ages for the results.

Afternoon all

Willmouse-I agree that moses baskets look lovely but unfortunately you don't get enough use out of them. Am so sick today, at least yesterday was a tad better when I went to the hairdressers. My next hair appointment is in 4 weeks so will be 12 weeks then and hoping to feel a bit better. Will be cooking for Mother's Day so need to be better. MW appointment is 2 weeks today.

Dawni-I have no words to make you feel better. I am really hoping the testing will provide some answers and I also hope you will stay here so that we will be able to share all your news. {{xx}}

Big wave to everyone else.

Do you get your first MW appointment at 10 weeks then? I have completely forgotten. Also, how many appointments do you have?

HumphreysCorner · 19/02/2009 14:41

No, you can see the MW for the booking in half hour appointment when you like but that is the earliest I could get in. You only see the MW loads with your first baby, think I only saw her about 4 times with DD2.

Hiya guys! Having a nice day everyone?

Dawni - you poor thing . Like HC I have no words really to help you except that it WILL happen...THINK POSITIVE!!!! (Seem to remember saying something very similar to HC last month actually!). We will all be whooping for you when you get your BFP you know! ...and you know it will be worth waiting for, it's always worth it!

I have had loads of mw appointments! ...and they seem wuite happy for you to just turn up if you feel like being seen! I'm thinking it's because it's a small local mw led centre, rather than a massive busy hospital! I have my long 1 hour appointment on monday to do my birth plan!!! - quite scary!

We have had a lovely relaxing day today, have checked the monitor, tried putting the rain cover on pram, and folding it up etc! It's soooooooooooo surreal!

MrsPuddleduck · 19/02/2009 15:26

CE - have you tested your sterilizer as well? I managed to BF both of mine but remember for both going out and buying the ready made cartons of SMA and testing the sterilizer so if the worst came to the worst at least I would know what I was doing!

BlueStar2009 · 19/02/2009 15:55

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being so absent for so long and that I'm only popping on to give you an update. I will try to come back later tnoight and post properly.

Had our second fertility appointment today after DH has been taking pills and potions galore for 2 months. Sperm results are worse than before and we've been referred for ICSI IVF...it's a 2 year waiting list. I wanted to cry in the doctor's office. I don't know how I feel right now. DH asked if we're going to be okay - he's pretty low right now.

Anyhow, hope beaans and babies and TTCers are all fine...a proper catch up later.

Bluestar - so to hear about the 2 year wait. I don't know anything about IVF but there was a girl at work recently who was able to be seen quickly if she agreed to donate eggs for another couple to use. I don't know if this is something all hospitals do, but the idea was that if you were happy to 'egg share' then they would move those couples up the waiting list, as potentially they could be helping 2 couples at once.

Bluestar - so sorry that you have to wait so long. Your poor DH.

Just popping on quickly before the weekend. We have visitors so probably wont be around until Monday.

Have a good one!

DawnAS · 20/02/2009 09:37

Hey all,

Bluestar, that is such bad news for you hun . I'm so sorry. Maybe worth asking about donation of the eggs like Detox mentioned if it was something you felt you could do.. You know where I am hun... I hope that your DH is Ok aswell. It must be really awful for him aswell.

xxxx

ChocolateEclair · 20/02/2009 11:03

Bluestar - can't believe there is a 2 year waiting list It must just seem like forever. Would you have any way of raising the money to go private? (I know it's a massive amount of money). Wishing you and DH the strength to get through this together xx

ChocolateEclair · 20/02/2009 11:06

I've got that urge to start cleaning today So far I have cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, dusted the lounge, put washing in and dishwasher on and am thinking about hoovering now!

HumphreysCorner · 20/02/2009 11:22

ChocEclair-it's nearly time.

Hope all OK.

CE, my DH is really hoping that I get the nesting instinct!! I do feel like I've become rather lazy recently, although I have to confess that he is so anal about cleaning that what I do is never good enough anyway so I gave up - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

Just a bit of info for you ladies who are due to be having babies soon, I heard from my friend who had her baby in August (although she found out too late to do this) that apparently, some hospitals will allow you to donate the umbilical cord afterwards for research into prevention of childhood illnesses and deformities of the child within the womb. It only gets thrown away anyway normally, so I'm definitely going to mention it to my MW and see if she can make a note on my records that I've requested this. I can't imagine I'll be thinking about anything much at the time!! But if it can help someone else in the future to have a healthy baby who otherwise may not have done, I'm all for that.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it...

I hope that all are Ok today. I'm starving and really should get some food - mmmm cheese sarnie and some fruit I think!!

xxx
