By the way anyone... note from doc said to go for bloods done CD21-24....my cylce is mostly 25days, now and then 30...what day do you's think i should go ?????

HumphreysCorner · 17/02/2009 15:03

Willmouse-new baby will go in DD1's room which is all HumphreysCorner but I am obsessed with giraffes which is what DD2's room is done in. DD1 will be sharing this room with DD2 although she doesn't know it yet. DD1 doesn't look after her room and the wallpaper is full of pen and bogies so DH will have to peel some paper off and reapply a new piece before any baby goes in there. Perhaps I will have to buy a HC highchair but then it does go in the kitchen so wouldn't matter. Hope your test says 3+. I haven't done mine yet.

Ceebee-a stone is loads of weight. Well done!

MJIM-both highchairs are nice and it is personal choice. It's a certainty that some of us will like the other one.

puree-hope this month is your time. Good luck with the BDing.

Am all crampy now after using the doppler, sure it's nothing as people have early scans where they are prodded.

Dawni-make an appointment for your CD22 or 23. Our surgery only does bloods on certain days so would phone up now.

Ceebee74 · 17/02/2009 15:36

MJIM didn't mean to make you feel about the highchair - as HC said, it is personal choice and if I had had a girl, I just know I would have gone for the pinkest/frilliest things around (perhaps a good job I haven't had a girl eh?) The second chair does look lovely and is probably much more practical - and with the money stuff thrown in, is clearly a better buy.

Dawni · 17/02/2009 18:24

MJIM I agree with CeeBee, both are very nice, im just a very pink person when it comes to girls, if i have a girl she will even have a pink pram !!!

HC Been to docs, got an appointment with nurse on friday 6th march, which will be CD23.

It never rains but pours as they say...DH went to docs for a small lump cut out of his lower back, turned out to be infected and now has a huge cut full of stitches, gotta go back tomorrow to see the nurse for the dressing changed, ive just put a clean mepore on it as the blood had seeped right through within an hour !!

MJIM-I would definitely have gone for the second highchair. In a few years your house too will be overrun with plastic pink sleeping beauty castles/bright pink dressing up clothes/pink CD players/pink feather bowers etc-so I would definitely play down the pink while you can!!

Dawni · 17/02/2009 21:41

LOL Good point Majormoo !!!!

MrsPuddleduck · 18/02/2009 08:58

Morning all

Test results were 3+ so I am not going to mention lack of pregnancy symptoms (i.e morning sickness again!)

HC - check the leaflet in the box to see how late you can test. I think if you have too much hormone it can give a false reading.

Dawni - your poor DH. Hopefully if you get an appointment soon the consultant may be able to advise on painkillers which would be safe to take. Regarding the blood test, as I understand it I think it detects progesterone levels which in turn means they can decide whether or not an egg has been released. I was told to do mine with my GP on day 21 but that if my cycle went beyond 30 days I should go back and GP would re-do it the next month. In your case I would say the earlier the better as you have short cycles so day 21.

MJIM - have you recovered from highchairgate yet? I only have two major purchases this time 1. a new sterlilzer - I am going to get the £20 mothercare one which looks exactly like the Avent one. 2. I am desperate for a proper sling -I have never had one before so I will probably spend weeks agonising over the decision!

Right, the only thing I am going to need soon is a simplified birds and bees/pregnancy book for DS1. I am not going to tell him until 12 weeks but when I do he will use it as the perfect opportunity to grill me constantly on where babies come from and how they get out - at the moment I skirt around the subject!

Hi to everyone else!

Must dash, off to Wacky Warehouse

ChocolateEclair · 18/02/2009 09:38

Hi guys
I'm back from my travels! All OK here, no signs of impending anything lol! I am getting quite a few BH contractions which are fun! Am going to get my hospital bag sorted out this week as well.

Hope you lot are all OK???

Congrats on the test willmouse!
Has HC done her test yet?

Oooo, and we got a date for our 37 week scan - 5th March. If I make it that far! It's to check presentation and size!

CE xx

PS. MJIM if we have a girl she's not going to be totally pink and girly. I prefer reds/purples/denim pinafores etc. I was a total tomboy when I was young! Our highchair is red and white from IKEA.

Hello all,

I prepared a really long post yesterday and then deleted it because I realised I was being a whinging cow!! So now I will send a shortened version!!

Jelly is 24 weeks today and she gave me lots of kicks first thing, celebrating her 24 week "pre-birth-day" - she will definitely know the Happy Birthday song by the time she gets here and will no doubt be mightily upset that she only gets it yearly once she's born!!

DH tried to feel too and as soon as he put his hand there, she stopped. (I was secretly a little pleased as she obviously prefers the feel of my hand to his - makes a change since the dog and cat think the sun shines out of his backside - )!!

MJIM, as we are having a girl, I was very excited to see your two highchairs!! But have to say that I would have gone with your choice. The first one was a little too pink for me... I totally agree with Majormoo's comment.

CE, is it you or Mandy next? How exciting - a 37 week scan - I can't believe how much time is flying!! What is the world coming to? It's a little early to be asking babies that aren't even born yet to present themselves isn't it?!

Dawni, what a nightmare your DH is having!!! I hope that he recovers soon - you're absolutely right, it never rains but it pours...

HC, how's cramping today hun, has it stopped now? I always feel a little crampy after examinations by MW or Sonographer. They always press so hard!!

Waves to Ceebee and Willmouse and everyone else I might have missed!!

So ladies, my DH's sister has been here for the past few days and is going home today. She works for Next and bought us some beautiful clothes for Jelly. But she's now asking what "big" item we need to get as she'd like to give us something. But I really have no idea as we have most things... If I tell you what we've got, can you tell me what we might have missed that would be appropriate for her to get us?! So, here goes....

Cot, Moses Basket with Stand, Wardrobe, Chest of drawers with baby changer, changing mat, pushchair/pram/car seat, older childs car seat, baby bouncer, baby gym/playmat thing, bottles, steriliser, baby bath, baby towels, baby blankets, cot/moses basket sheets, loads of nappies, whicker storage baskets, muslin squares, bibs, loads of clothes (including vests, babygros, dresses, cardigans, socks, bootees, scratch-mittens etc etc).

So, all ideas gratefully received!! I am thinking possibly a high-chair as we haven't got that yet and following all the discussions on here - but wasn't sure how quickly we'd need one?

xxx

ChocolateEclair · 18/02/2009 12:23

If you're sure this won't just exacerbate highchairgate even further! Here is the chair chair and here is the tray tray. Cheap as chips but looks pretty ok really!

PS. What's the difference between a sling and a carrier? We have got a 3 way carrier that can go on front from birth upwards and back from a couple of months old. [dim emoticon!]

Phew! (Was feeling like a cheapskate after looking at your luxury chairs! lol!)

Dawn - baby monitor? They are quite expensive. We got ours second hand from someone at work! Travel cot?

Ooo how about this? rockinghorse!

Dawni - how is your DH today? He sounds like he's really going through it. There must be some painkillers he can take surely that won't affect his sperm?

MrsPuddleduck · 18/02/2009 13:11

Dawn - have you got a bouncy chair yet? Invaluable - get an expensive one. My DS's had virually all their daytime naps in theirs when newborn.

CE are you going to have Boden clothes then if you have a girl The highchair is fab by the way. Everyone who I know who has one swears by them. I want a sling that swaddles the baby close to you (as oppose to just carrying them). I am not sure whether it will be a good thing or not. I am not into making a rod for my own back (hence DS2 did not have a dummy).

MJIM - what have you started! LOL. Fortunately I am not a part of highchairgate as mine (primpa pappa from Mamas and Papas for those interested) is still in mint condition for its third little bottom!

MrsPuddleduck · 18/02/2009 13:18

What???? Rockinghorsegate????

I like this one

Got achey tummy today and clearblue moved to high fertility today, we BD lastnight so then we will BD thurs, fri, sat to be sure then every other day for a week to be certain we have hit it, temp dropped this morning and saliva test is ferning....What more can a girl do !!! Im wearing 2 fertility necklaces, a fertility ring and a fertility bracelet to be over cautious LOL

Hope you are all well, and i want to join your gang this month !!! IYKWIM

Much love

D xx

Dawni · 18/02/2009 13:40

PS...CE... DH a little brighter today and got more sleep, doc says everything he could prescribe would slow the sperm, soon as we have done what we need to he will be back on the morphine, i dont know how he can go without he is in so much pain at times, he is currently hanging over the back of the sofa trying to get relief ...he copes well though xx

DawnAS · 18/02/2009 13:48

Hello all,

Ladies, I knew I could rely on you!!!

I am lurving the Rocking Horse Idea. I've just had a quick look on Ebay and spotted this one - another caterpillar!! "Look atthis page"

Also, we definitely need a monitor and a travel cot. We do have a baby bouncer, we bought an OBaby one, the only thing we have in Pink!! DH insisted that we needed something pink...

Dawni · 18/02/2009 15:24

Been to the gym again, only done cardio today, too tired for weights !!!!

HumphreysCorner · 18/02/2009 16:24

You lot are busy today.

Willmouse-glad the test was 3+. Will have to read my box and check the latest I can use it.

DawnAs-wow, you have so many things. Apart from a monitor, travel cot and rocker chair I think you have everything.

Dawni-your brave DH, total respect to him.

We only need a new rocker, highchair, monitor and pram. Cramping much better today but have been shopping and felt dizzy in Tescos. Luckily I bumped into DH in there so he came to the rescue.

Looking forward to the Brits tonight.

Big wave to all!

Dawn, I am getting the Fisher Price Jumperoo for DS as he has got good head control now and loves bouncing. (he's 12 weeks) Is expensive but friends have told me it is a total godsend!

Don't know how to do a link to it, sorry!
