Congratulations Bellie - and welcome to the lovely Orin

ChocolateEclair · 13/02/2009 17:18

Yeah! Well done Bellie - I have to confess I was worried about you and baby! Orin sounds a delight, sorry you had a scary start with him though. 10lbs 6 is massive isn't it! No wonder labour wasn't starting - that would have been hard work!

BB - sorry AF arrived - she really is an evil witch isn't she? Good luck with FSH test tomorrow.

dawni - glad you are feeling a little more upbeat, it is so sad to read your posts sometimes - I wish there was something I could do/say to help. I guess you just need to get it all out on here and that is enough!

Glad HC and willmouse are still getting symptoms - morning sickness is vile - I remember like it was yesterday! However, I would love to be bursting out of my bra - I am still only a tiny weeny bit bigger than UI was before I was pg! Hoping that when milk comes in after the baby is born they will go huge!

MJIM - glad N has gained more weight! She will be 13lbs before you know it!

I have finally broken up for half term. Only 1 more week to do after that! I had a really busy week though as I had a student teacher shadowing me - fun but you don't get a break! And also had crazy day yesterday due to snow starting at lunchtime and trying to close school and get all kids home safely. Bet my blood pressure has rocketed!

juanitad · 13/02/2009 17:26

yay bellie, so great to hear your news. Congratulations!

Dawni · 13/02/2009 19:19

Oh Belgian Sorry to hear your spotting, you do hear people get pregnant cause the pressure has been taken away, mind you alot get pregnant after having a child on IVF because its kick started everything !!!

CE Thanks hun, it certainly does help being able just to vent on here, ive not really had anyone to blurt every little feeling out to knowing they will understand, i must come across as a bit of a nutter with alot of baggage !!

DS has gone to a mates for a few drinks, thank god he isnt coming home tonight after last weeks decorating IYKWIM

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

We are going to the cinema - might not be going there for a while after this lol! and then cooking a romantic meal in tonight! (Not that I can get dressed up - I am starting to feel absolutely huge and nothing fits me! I might post a pic if I can think on!)

HC - is this the test that tells you how many weeks pg you are? Why not do it now? Unless I'm missing something?

BB - good luck for today xx

CE xx

PS. We are going away to SIL near Lincoln tomorrow til Tuesday so don't panic about me! I will endeavour not to go into labour whilst we are there, but will be taking my notes just in case!

HumphreysCorner · 14/02/2009 12:43

ChocEclair-as I am paranoid about this pregnancy I thought it might tell me if my levels have fallen so may use it in week 9 or if my symptoms disappear again. Enjoy the cinema.

Hi all

DS2 has been horrendous with chicken pox but seems a bit better today.

Dawni - glad you are feeling better.

Bellie - congratulations on the birth of Orin - sounds stressful but at least he is behaving himself now

HC - glad its not just me who had to find a maternity bra immdiately! I am semi-tempted to get DH to lug the maternity clothes box down from the loft in case I suddenly need jeans which don't cut in the middle (I knew I should have lost that post-christmas weight!).

I wished I had waited and done that test next week. I feel Ok and don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing! Bedsides the boobs and lack of AF I have no other symptoms.

I will re-do stats just so I can go in the bonked section

Good afternoon all

Work was tiring as usual, half staffed at weekends, so lots of extra calls to do !!

MJIM What a shame you had a poor night, have you tried a teaspoon of honey in her bottle before bed, it worked a treat when DS was a babe, used to knock him out 8 hours !!

CE Hope you have a nice few days away hun, and just chill

HC Whats with the test ?? And have you done it ??

Belgian Hope today went well, fingers crossed for you xx

Chinese night tonight, no cooking for me

D xx

Dawni · 14/02/2009 16:34

MJIM Never mind hun, just a thought. Obviously our DS was bottle fed, i was only 20 and scared to death !! I would dearly love to get my BFP and breast feed, and do all the things i didnt with Michael, not that id change a moment, he will always be my special first born iykwim
It must be frustrating that Naomi is'nt sleeping, it can make it hard even though she is worth it xx

3 days out of 4 my temp has been the same, does this normally happen or am i just weird ????

Catch ya's later

detoxdiva · 15/02/2009 08:29

Morning all

MJIM - hope you had a better night. It's just soul destroying when they don't sleep isn't it. I remember dd was a nightmare for sleeping during the day - I had to carry her everywhere and rock her to get any peace....and then she'd wake as soon as I got within 10 feet of her moses basket Am hoping this one will be one of those lovely chilled out babies who I can leave anywhere and they'll sleep Hope this is a better week for you.

Willmouse - good to hear you (and dh!!) are enjoying all the benefits of pregnancy My boobs (which I think are plenty big enough to start with ) just seem to have taken on a life of their own - I am on holiday next week and will be spending it buying maternity clothes as all my waistbands are too tight already!

CE - yay for half term...enjoy your time away

Bellie - hope all is well with baby Orin, and that you are keeping well.

Quiet day here today - dh at work so need to think of things to do to keep dd occupied (and wear her out so she sleeps well tonight!)

Bellie · 15/02/2009 09:06

morning - what a night!! Orin has turned into sickie baby!! Had to change the bed twice last night as it went everywhere - poor little thing all over his eyes, ears and hair so ended up bathing him too - not what you need at 4am!!

Still he did sleep from 11 to 4 so I should be grateful for small mercies!!

HC - will the hcg hormone still be strong enough at 9 weeks? Genuine question as I thought that it was not detected quiet so easily later on in pregnancy?

CE - glad to hear that you are ok but just busy - just keep thinking only one more week to go!! Have fun away.

Got to go Orin just woken up - be back later I hope!

ChocolateEclair · 15/02/2009 09:18

Hi Guys, sorry to hear about all those who aren't sleeping due to sick dc. I am sure I will be exactly the same in a few weeks!

HC - I do understand you paranoia, esp when you have had a mc before. Do you remember when I did all those pg tests at 6-8 weeks and they kept getting lighter? In the end I went sobbing to the MW and told her. She suspected a mc but obviously it wasn't as now look at me! Just wanted to advise caution as even if the levels have dropped, it doesn't mean bad things. MW put it down to placenta taking over early even though my ms carried on until 13 weeks! Whatever you decide, DON'T PANIC!!!!

Off to SIL in an hour so just cleaning out hamsters and packing a bit

Have a nice few days all xxxxxx

majormoo · 15/02/2009 15:05

congratulations on the birth of Orin Bellie. Must have been very stressful those first few days. It is great that he is sleeping well but shame about the puking-Oh the joys of the extra washing a newborn brings!

Belgian hope all goes OK

HC sympathise re the stress of those early weeks. Time ticks by so slowly.

MJIM hope Naomi starts sleeping a bit better. My sister's baby is a similar age to Naomi and they are having sleep issues too. Also a friend of mine called me the other day for advice on how to get her baby of 4 months to sleep better so I think it is very common at 4-5 months. Can't say I had any decent advice to give her though!

Must go-typically DH has taken the elder two to the park, and just as I settle down to an hour in peace on mumsnet etc DS2 has woken up.
