i am very honoured to start the april first thread (thanks george ) for the TTC for the cautious girls! (and not forgetting the blondes, dramaqueen )...and anyone else who like to join us.

please start with quick stats so we know where you're at, thanks

rom 38 yrs old
ttc no. 1
cycle 3 (after m/c end. dec 04)
CD9
uses temps/persona

OP posts:
Bella23 · 01/04/2005 15:08

George - you have hit the nail on the head, weeing on a stick just gives so much satisfaction doesn't it ?? I think getting persona is just making my addiction worse as there is just so many sticks to wee on !!
Its so great to see that we are a thread of very determined ladies, basically come hell or high water we will damn well make a baby!

Bella23 · 01/04/2005 15:10

George - thanks for the sympathy on the BFN but at this stage you should be shouting "you silly old bat you're only 7 days past ov ffs!!"

george32 · 01/04/2005 15:16

Off to wee on a stick - wish me luck!!!

Nemo1977 · 01/04/2005 15:29

ooo hope u get ur today george

Bella23 · 01/04/2005 15:32

I have to say that those digital ones have given me the biggest thril so far this year.....I literally felt so excited when I saw that symbol for the 1st time!

.....yes need to get out more...........

romilly · 01/04/2005 15:38

george - sprinkling lots of "0" dust your way

bella - 7 dpo bad bella!

OP posts:
romilly · 01/04/2005 15:41

i just love the smiley OPK too - did you get two days of 0 on persona bella? i woke up really late on AF day and set my persona for a ridiculously late time and then the bloody clocks went forward - so now i have to do the horrible urine "collection" routine every morning this cycle, LOL - not nearly as much fun as peeing on stick!!

OP posts:
Bella23 · 01/04/2005 16:16

Yep got my two days of O on persona - ye ha!

george32 · 01/04/2005 17:23

No on smileys.
Anyone get a later than day 19?
At least I can tell DP that I bought the massage things because I lurve him not just because I want to get p/g!!

Bad news on the collecting Rom, definitely not as satisfying as a stick wee!!

Bella, I can't say anything about your p/g test being only 7 days past 0 for you. I did one because I've put weight on FFS!!!!!

Nice to see that you are stick happy too Mishi

Right, off to take my frustration out on the pots & pans & spend the next couple of hours making lovely curry for tea.

Nemo1977 · 01/04/2005 17:59

george how long is ur cycle usually? U may just be having a longer one this month as my smiley on cd 19 was actually early for my cd length of 36 days. I actually tested from cd 12 to try and work out when it was due and according to ff it shouldnt have been due until cd 21. Not much help i know but it is possible

romilly · 01/04/2005 18:16

george - hang in there, dont you have a longish cycle anyway? i think nemo is right - still possible - u'd better have that massage kit at the ready

the rom household are having curry tonight too - with a nice bottle of sancerre - mmm mmm (think i'll skive the gym)

cadmum's going to have some catching up to do on this thread! who else isnt with us yet? hereshoping? bonkerz? girlfromip?

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 01/04/2005 18:43

I'm baking shortbread as we 'speak'! dark choc chunk with nuts in to.....heavenly! we have stuffed pasta for dinner tonight. curry sounds nice too, might do that for tomorrow.....
no opk for me yet, expecting it monday tbh. just you know desperate for it to get here....
think we have indeed turned from cautious to desperate...poss we are the new desperate housewives? there may well be a thread soon of nervous dhs dont you think? mine must sigh so loudly when i say' right...the next four or five days.........'
I'm kinda counting on this cycle, it was this third cycle after first m/c that produced my gorgeous dd2......orderyourbabyhere.com got my order and processing it too george?

pacinofan · 01/04/2005 20:37

Hi, can i join this thread too? For those who don't know me (I hang out on the old duffers thread), my stats are:

Pacinofan 37 years old
ttc no 2
conceived dd at 34 after about 9 months ttc
miscarriage at approx. 6 weeks Dec 2004
currently on CD 3
uses opks (and ridiculous amounts of pregnancy tests, should have shares in them)!!

Trying to console myself we have not managed it this month with a lovely large gin and tonic - have been looking at it in the cupboard for ages and denying myself it in case we were pregnant, at least I can enjoy a drink tonight!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend,

Helen

Harrizeb · 01/04/2005 21:15

Hi, love the new thread, it does feel an optamistic month, fingers crossed for everyone, and lots of baby dust one and all.
Can I ask a small favour please, please DramaQueen72 could I have your receipe for the shortbread you are baking - it smells gorgeous

wendy11 · 01/04/2005 22:49

Good evening ladies.

You have really brought a smile to my face with all the things you ladies do each month. I don't feel so shame faced now about knowing the due date of a baby I haven't even conceived or poking continually at my boobs to see if they are sore.......usually end up making them sore from too much poking!!

Bella how could you don't worry the only reason I haven't done it yet is that I purposely don't have any tests in the house this month to stop me testing too soon.

Cobwebs - welcome to the mad house. I am so sorry you are having so many problems. I know what it is like to try for so long. I really hope that your treatment in June brings you the joy you want. We were diagnosed with unexpained infertility and tried for 5 years before conceiving our ds naturally. Unfortunately it was not to be and he was stillborn at 23 weeks. I suppose you always think well I have done it once I can do it again but I believe that this last month of trying naturally has been a failure - do temperature thing and they are no different from other months - so I guess it will be onto IVF for us. We are due to strat treatment in April.

Rom - your knowledge of statistics astound me!!

DQ - shortbread with chocolate chunks and nuts - sounds devine

Nemo - really hope all the signs you are having are the right ones and you get what you are hoping for

George - maybe you ov later in your cycle than you think or maybe your body is still a bit out of synch. I honestly think mine is only back to some sort of normality now and I am on cycle 5. Really hope you see that tomorrow. LOL at massage kit - who is going to get the most enjoyment out of that??

Well I think I have completley put DH off BD. Every time he walked through the door during that IMPORTANT week I pounced. The poor guy is exhausted and not even remotley interested in BD just for lovings sake - well that is what he gets for being interested in my OPK's. He is as big a gadget freek as me and wanted to know exactley how they worked. Had to hide them before he dismantled the entire thing.

Well better go. Dh will think I have abandoned him. Goodnight everyone

romilly · 01/04/2005 23:54

dramaqueen - you are nigella the brainy baking goddess so you cant be blonde

wendy - LOL at sore boobs and poking, another culprit here

pacinofan - good to have you with us - you are on the right thread for ridiculous amounts of peed-on-sticks!!

OP posts:
romilly · 01/04/2005 23:57

harrizeb - placing orders for babies here, not dqueens flapjacks or choccy things

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 02/04/2005 00:46

hey! you can order my shortbread here too! I LOVE shortbread, esp my 'favoured' versions.....harrizeb, it DOES smell heavenly!
wendy, hope dh is okay? and gets his interest back! I know just what you mean tho.its a heck of a pressure we put on ourselves as a couple isnt it really? Dh isnt really interested in bding unless its 'the right time' and this is most likely because i wear the guy out then....but i feel 'neglected' when its NOt the right time...iykwim..its like a role reversal here!!
doing opks and NOT getting a + or smiley face is very depressing, so i'm sorry George that youre still waiting, i'm losing patience after three days!
Bella, sorry about the early test...its a weird mad driven feeling isnt it? to get that test out and see. its too early hun, you should know you were telling ME few weeks ago!! I still have masses of those hpt left from my bulk order.... so i will be right there testing at stupid early days past o......sigh, its like a hamster wheel of test fix test here....
cadmum, where are yooooooooooooooou, hope alls well.
wendy, how long til the end of this cycle for you? i really hope it works.
rom dont let the baking addiction fool you, i'm cliche blonde and get furious at myself every time i do something that proves it beyond doubt to dh and family..
nemo, everything okay? youre quite quiet lately, we love you here you know!
pacino fan, welcome aboard!!I too need to buy shares in hpt, i have a collection going here....... got great bargain of twenty last month. wont go into details about exactly hwo manys left, but enough to test at will this cycle. funnily enough i tend to use more if i get pg.....i never believe it and keep testing and testing....
well night ladies, looking forward to speaking to everyone tomorrow
DQ.....x

romilly · 02/04/2005 12:33

ok - we should have called the thread www.orderyourflapjacksandbabieshere.com

the trials and tribulations of bd'ing huh?! so dqueen and wendy you have the exact reverse of me - my d/h is always willing except for the "uh-oh" time, when he acts like i just want him for his "baby gravy" - LOL!!! not true, i hasten to add, i wouldnt be without him - i'm just not very good at showing it a lot of the time. our bodies are definitely programmed to get horny at that particular time anyway!!!

where is cadmum?? silence is conspicuous...

i wonder how yingers and mizzan are getting on? seem to have lost track of dyzzidi as well.

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 02/04/2005 13:46

I got a on my opk this morning, which was good timing as we managed v early morning bding before i did the opk..however (and can we see a pattern here.??...) dh and I have since quarreled...omg, do we all do this every o time or what? its nothing major, just you know,.not the cosy feeling between us i was planning..

romilly · 02/04/2005 17:31

dqueen - congrats on the - so bang on CD14 for you eh? glad you timed it perfectly this morning - pre-argie-bargie with d/h hope you are back to a more cosy atmosphere by this evening....

i definitely think our next thread should be something along the lines of "Trying to conceive and not fall out with d/h simultaneously..."

i did a smiley OPK this a/noon just for the hell of it - and not surprisingly no for me. only CD10, but i did get a patch of very promising EWCM last night which prompted me.

happy saturday night everybody - i'm off out to dinner so better get off here and start glamming up

OP posts:
MizZan · 02/04/2005 17:58

hi ladies - still lurking here as you know this is far and away the best thread on mumsnet! no, actually it's because I want to know how it's all going for everyone. Keeping fingers crossed for lots more BFPs from this group in the next few weeks...

I am ok, still (apparently) pregnant, 6 weeks today, but I must admit still feeling quite cautious. Today is the "anniversary" of my m/c in Jan which was also at just 6 weeks, so feeling a little shaky. Won't get to see the doc for another couple of weeks yet. Think I will really start believing in it once I see a scan that looks ok.

lots of babydust to all of you, girls...

hereshoping · 02/04/2005 18:53

Thanks Mizz
Great thread, can I place my order please though dont mind being way down priority list as feel v lucky already.Welcome cobweb. hope you catch some luck from this thread

Nemo1977 · 03/04/2005 10:40

good morning all hope u are having a great weekend. I was in the garden all day yesterday and it was lovely as Ds was playing on his toys and i got to lie on a mat and read a magazine..bliss. On the pg front I am deffo thinking myself pg as the symptom spotting is a nightmare and im only 6 dpo

rom hope u had a good night
george sny sign of that ?
DQ hope u made it up with dh

george32 · 03/04/2005 11:22

Fingers crossed for you Mishi. Hope you are p/g.
No sign of for me yet but I think I might have been doing them at the wrong time (pm rather than am). Then again, nothing happening with my temperature either. My cycle used to be 42 days and only went to 30 last month so maybe it's getting longer again. Hoping it's that rather than not Ov'ing.

DQ, please can I order some of your shortbread too? But can it be the really tasty but really non-fattening healthy type please? (what do you mean...no such thing???) Have you made up with DH yet?

You'll be pleased to hear that the official entry form for the 5 mile run have gone off so there is no getting out of it now!! Really hoping I don't get overtaken by someone dressed as a giant panda or dog, or pensioner! .
5 weeks exactly to go so I have some work to do if I'm going to run the whole way round...........scary!!
Hope everyone is OK and having a good weekend. Sending some babydust across to everyone.....
