Mollie (or should I say bitter twisted woman ) Don't be silly - be nice to get back to 'normal' and chat about lots of things including ttc, crappy DP's/DH's and of course shopping! (and maybe a bit of pg when something interesting happens!)

Back from shopping -why do these things always take longer than you think? Have just realised that I have bought nothing exciting to eat and am starving - should take Fruity with me she always has nice stuff to eat!

Scully Cruise in South Pacific is all I need to hear to say go for it but will go back now and have a quick look at your link - but go for it.

teeheelaydee · 16/01/2009 15:48

Oh WOW - Scully it looks amazing - I know you said you miss Europe and the travel options but with that in reach who needs Spain? Loliu (?) looks like Robinson Crusoe territory!

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 16:32

Mollie stop your worrying woman - I didn't want to unbalance things in here.
It's how I would have felt if I was still TTC. I just kind of put myself in all of your shoes and felt really . Nothing you said made me want to speak up - I would have done it regardless.
I think it's so easy to get carried away with pregnancy and forget about other people's feelings. I suppose I now understand why friends of mine would go on about their "spontaneous" pregnancies without any consideration for my feelings.

Of course everyone here should be able to carry on expressing their concerns/happiness - just wanted everyone back again and happy to participate .

See, this is why I hate confrontation in RL. I can never word things correctly and end up sounding harsh when I really don't mean to

Happy families everyone

BTW, when can we have a nose at all your charts?????????????????????? I fancy a bit of analysing

BellaHarry · 16/01/2009 17:27

I want to nose at charts too! Must dash, dh and I have sheduled some no intercourse petting how fun! Lol night from me for now.

piper84 · 16/01/2009 18:05

Big waves to everyone

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 18:18

Oooh yes, look at that beautiful rise! Isn't it a joy to see a bit of ovulation!
We like ovulation

Bella You old tart

Molliemooma · 16/01/2009 19:03

OK I'm going to stop worrying now I promise

Scully I am glad you've decided against the doppler, you would have driven yourself crazy (or got a little more crazy ) with it. Wow at the cruise!
Lola So sorry to hear about the sadness around you at the moment, sounds like you are suffering with the MS too, don't envy you driving that far feeling sick Devon sounds delicious
Piper Good news on your college acceptance, glad to hear the headaches have quietened down, look forward to some symptom spotting
EI Put that back down and come back to MN
TeeHee Very disappointed in your shopping, what's the point of doing it if you don't get anything nice Definately have to take a leaf out of Fruitys book
Fruity & Bella No chart for me yet, still waiting to actively TTC after next consultants appt 17th Feb. But as soon as I am will post my link. The good news is AF arrived yesterday so only one more cycle and I'll be back on the treadmill (well I think that's good news)
Sparkly Hellooooooo
Bella Lol at "petting"
CriCri Glad to hear that the explosive poo's are at an end Sounds like the osteo is a godsend
Mibbes Hope you're OK?
Emmsy Any news from work?

Well got through the week, have to say I've felt very positive and upbeat until DH gave left me a little note yesterday morning (day of ERPC last year) to say he was thinking of me, cue tears for about 2 hours, but once I'd been at work an hour I was OK, been fine since and hoping that I've officially moved on

I have bought a new car it is one of these It's the newest car I've ever had and I'm so happy with it, even if I've only driven it about half a mile! Got to wait for insurance to come through so I can tax it - then look out!

Anyone got any exciting plans for the weekend? I think the highlight for me will be opening a bottle of wine to kill or cure my cold!

EFF IT! Just deleted another message...

So sorry. No energy to write another one now. Going to try to have a little kip... Back later xx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/01/2009 19:50

Just waiting for Sainsbury's to deliver groceries so I can cook us gammon steaks, chips and egg. Yum! Not very healthy, but hey, had a BIG salad for lunch and I need some carbs.

Scully Am I allowed to sulk like a two year old at the thought of you and DH going on a cruise! Am very very . But hey, you may as well do it now! Oh, and I keep forgetting to say, if it's any help, DD1 was FOUL for 6 months leading up to her 7th b'day. Girls get a hormone surge around 6 years of age. It's like living with stroppy teenager. Ugh. Maybe DD1 going thru this? Did you get another appt at the hospital? or have you reassured yourself that all is well given everyone's comments.

Mollie HELLO! Glad you're back. And wow at the car. Very nice. What colour? Give it six months though and it'll have crisp packers and apple cores in it like ours!!! Finergs crossed for yuor next cons appt. Will you be looking for more answeers or is it more of an 'all clear' type of appt?

Lola Have a nice snooze honey. Your day sounds horrendous. Hang in there. And put your feet up this weekend. Very sorry to hear about your losses.

Fruity Pizza?

Bella Blimey A* for you! My poor DH hasn't even had some much as a full on snog! But now MS is going then I think I might have to put out!!! We're going away next weekend so I might try and squeeze into some sexy underwear and see what happens.....

TeeHee Tsk. School girl error! You ALWAYS loiter in the snack/biscuit/dips aisles and wait for inspiration to hit!

Piper Thats amazing news about your course. If I had my time over again, I'd LOVE to do something like that. How long is the course? God, I bet it's going to be really interesting. Lucky you. And good news about the Clomid sypmtoms. Although prob not nice to go thru.

Cricri God you're good not spending money at Bluewater. You must have a cast iron will! And that's great news about the osteo.

Mibbes Hello. How's life treating you?

Sparkly Come back!

Ei Just step away from the book!

We're in the process of firing our builders. It's been a shit show from start to finish Am very very fed up with them. We're just praying that DH gets a bonus and we have enough money to hire new builders and pay them. I just can't believe how stressful the whole thing has been. I just desperately want to go home .

Not sure if anyone else goes thru this. But just seem to be in a phase of my life where I'm fighting with everyone. Fighting with Virgin Active to cancel my membership (they are being grade A planks). Fighting with Lambeth Council over my house in Streatham and all the money I had to plough into there. Fighting with the builder because they are complete muppets and can't do the job they were hired to do. Ugh.

My mate and I were thinking of setting up the 'Naomi Campbell Scool for Anger Management'. Anyone want to join? .

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 20:19

Oooh Georgie here here! about Virgin Active. I'm a member at the Merton Abbey branch. I told them ages ago I could no longer afford to keep up the payments - I wasn't ever there anyway!
They just threatened me with courts etc... so I've had to agree to disagree about paying the £8 per month to freeze it. Still gotta pay up though when I start up again. They are buggers. Money grabbing buggers

Oh yes, Pizza! Hmmmmm, I'm free any evening really. Could get out for about 7:30/7:45. What about next Weds eve? I will have only had one mindee all day so shouldn't be too knackered I think an evening out - even just for pizza - would do us a world of good

Mollie I'm so jealous of you and your new car - I want one!!!!!! So, no excuses then, you can drive down to London for a visit - hope it's good on petrol!

Molliemooma · 16/01/2009 20:33

Georgie Its a silver blue colour bit of an old fogey colour but the guy I brought it off was about 110! Our groceries have just been delivered by Sainsburys 1.5 hrs early! Can't believe it's got so bad you now have to fire the builders, what an absolute nightmare for you. How is it going with the council, will it be a long drawn out process like your deposit from MFI? Poor you, you've got a tighter schedule now with LO on the way. No wonder you are starting your new school for anger management

So what's with Virgin Active then? Do they not allow cancellation of membership? Surely that's not legal? Are you stuck for life?

Fruity Will definately have to practise driving with brakes that work at the slightest touch so far my face has been on the windscreen on the two short journeys I've done My brakes must have been so heavy!

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 20:37

you sign a contract for a year so you have to either pay the full year or pay monthly. I had only just renewed my contract a couple of months before I wanted to cancel so I've got a good 10 months to catch up on when I unfreeze my membership
PMSL about the brakes!

HerNameWasLola · 16/01/2009 22:16

Evening. I'm back post kip and pizza in bed... gross huh?? Early pg has to be one of the only times you can get away with stuff like that Didn't think I'd be able to eat it, but actually it was yum, apart from the enormous chillis DH had put all over it which aren't really doing it for me atm. DH is NOT enjoying/impressed by how little I'm doing at the mo, not cooking, cleaning, walking dogs etc and of course he can't see any difference in me, just whinging and asking for glasses of water/whatever... You'd think he'd remember from last time, although I wasn't this bad last time. Ah well, I've told him I should hopefully start to feel better in 3 weeks or so!

Mollie check you out in your swanky new wheels! Very nice! When are you going to cruise down to Hampshire in it?

Piper great chart! Fantastic rise! Let's hope it stays that way

Fruity & Georgie I'm very of your meet up on wednesday. Maybe in a couple of monhs we could all go? Mind you, I'm even more of Scully's fabulous cruise!!! Golly Scully, I can see why you miss living in the uk with rubbish holiday options like that where you are Ironially that's about the same time we're off to Devon, I'm sure it'll be very similar!

Wanna see where we're going? here Love it there. Our friends own part of the estate. In fact, I think it's where this LO was conceived in December We've never stayed in this bit before though, normally we just stay with them.

Can I just ask 2 pg related qu's? 1. When did people's MS start/peak/finish? 2. When did people start to show and when could it actually be termed a bump, as opposed to just the horrid bit-fat stage? I never got past that, even at 17 weeks.

What's everyone up to this weekend? My DH is off to london to drink til he can't see meet up with a friend from uni (MANY years ago ) Don't know how I'll cope having to get my own dinner tomorrow night

Georgie how long have you been out of your house now? After all the work we had done here I remember what it's like Fingers crossed for the bonus and some builders who actualy know what they're doing

Hello to everyone else sorry for not catching up properly. Can't do any more now. Am big wimp

scully · 17/01/2009 08:06

yay, we had lovely new ceiling fans installed today, plus he did a few other bits and pieces as well. Of course it's breezy this evening so don't need them on but I'm sure we will tomorrow
I love the place you're going to in Devon Kate, looks gorgeous. Tropical beaches are nice, but I miss the pretty English countryside and proper old houses etc. There's no pleasing us is there
As for m/s, it started at 6wks, and eased off at 13wks, at its worst from wk8 to wk12.....I would say I have a bump now, rather than just looking like I ate all the pies
With the gym m'ship, I had also signed a 12mth contract and got out of paying about 6mths of it, when I got my gp to write me a letter saying I'd had 2 m/c 6mths apart so wasn't able to use it regularly. They accepted it no problem and they are a big chain, v similar to Virgin.
Thx for the tip about 6-7yr old girls George, someone had told me that before but I'd forgotten.
How was the snogging Bella?
Welcome back Mollie, anniversaries are crap aren't they I also went through the phase of wanting to scratch out the eyes of the next person who told me they were pregnant , just couldn't deal with any of it for a while. Then I decided to relax about it more and try not to stress and I fell pregnant the next month Took me a long while to get to that point though and unfortunately you have to work through all the crappy bits first. Here's to a better February for you I love your new car too, you'll have plan lots of nice long trips in that to test it out
Last night with dh home, then he buggers off to Sydney Sunday afternoon until late Friday night.....I'm tired just thinking about it Went grocery shopping this afternoon (on my own, always a treat) and planned my meals for the week so I don't need to get much whilst he's away i.e. take both of them grocery shopping with me. The air conditioning is nice but just getting the trolley back to the car, unloading children and groceries you work up such a sweat in the heat, ugh.
Anyway, enough moaning about me and the hot weather, hope you're all enjoying the weekend

Molliemooma · 17/01/2009 09:21

Lola Looks amazing! I hate you! I've got to make do with a Sun newspaper holiday this year
Scully So pleased you have got your ceiling fans installed now. Now all you need is a home help for when DH is away

Why do men when they are in the wrong still insist on doing things just to annoy you, when they know it will make the situation ten times worse?? DH went into work this morning so rang to see if the insurance certificate for the car had arrived so we can tax it, bearing in mind he doesn't drive and I run the household/sort bills etc out, so he's hassling me! Anyway it hasn't come, he starts moaning down the phone coz his brother is having our old car, and tells me to ring the insurance company. So I did and they said it was posted Weds night and takes 4 working days for the policy to come, I did ask if that was by donkey So I rang DH back to explain he starts shouting about the f*ing insurance company blah blah blah, because of course I own it and can do something about it So when I shouted back at him he hung up on me!!!!!!!! All this by 9.10 in the morning!!!
So of course I did the mature thing and rang back and hung up on him!

Why oh why don't they learn!!!!
Sorry had to get that off my chest and it's too early to ring my sister

Molliemooma · 17/01/2009 09:49

Fruity Also meant to say after our chat the other night about your wedding that if you want me to do any research on wedding stuff just let me know I love doing that kind of thing And as you can see I'm obviously bored!

teeheelaydee · 17/01/2009 09:53

Mollie I definately think your DH and my DP are related! He hates making any kind of phone call to anywhere remotely official, although to his credit don't think he would hassle me about it he would just leave it forever! I would be though and the hanging up thing did make me laugh as we have definately done that before - gets your day of to a shitty start tho! How can they go from Mr Lovely to utter twonk in 24 hours.

Lola It looks absolutely gorgeous - you and Scully are making me desperate for a holiday - not much chance of that now - Boohoo. My MS went on to about 14 weeks and I don't think I had a bump until about 20 weeks because I remember the receptionist at the scan clinic asked me if it was my first scan so I can't have been very big. Maternity wear from about 15 weeks - but I did hang on for obvious reasons - could have done with it earlier really.

Scully Sounds like you are prepared for your week of single parenthood so I'm sure you will be fine - if you cover the airfare am happy to come over and give you a hand!! Bit of sun and heat would be a welcome relief - grey and drizzly as I type.

Georgie Have I missed something I didn't realise you had moved out? How did the project manager work out, I assume not good if now having to sack builders, thought things had improved. What a nightmare. Know what you mean about fighting with everyone, although I just seem to be grumpy with all my family and even my cats at the moment. V and the gammon, egg and chips, although DP has just bought me poached egg on toast for breakfast - what a result.

Piper I have never been a charting girl so am always a bit lost but if the girls say it looks good then it looks good! Everything crossed that the clomid has done it for you.

Must must get up as we are painting today and DP is already dressed and ready to start - opps, have to go out for some painting supplies and might have to detour for some doughnuts for the workers.

scully · 17/01/2009 10:53

Well I had sausages, chips, eggs and beans for dinner, yummy Especially when I didn't cook it, and I got home from grocery shopping to find the children showered and in their pj's, at 4.30pm dh can go from one extreme to the other, but at this moment I'm not complaining & dd1 has decided that she enjoys washing up, and is asking me each day if she can, so of course I am indulging her She does a very good job too, takes her time and everything is clean, so far so good
Which room are you painting Teehee?
I've done the Sun paper holiday thingy before Mollie, any break is better than no break & yes they are all the same, won't ring themselves but hassle hassle if we haven't done it, so annoying
I'm off to bed now, just watched Celebrity Masterchef on Foxtel (Sky equivalent). It's the final with Liz from Atomic Kitten. 8.50pm here so at least I've improved from going to bed at 7.30pm with the children

Emmsy1 · 17/01/2009 11:46

morning folks, sun is shining here, probably not for long though as the forecast is pretty crap. mollie nice to here from you. The next meeting in work is at the begin of Feb so I won't here until then.

Don't think that anyone should be worried about posting on this thread, regardless of what the conversation is about, I know the ladies who are not yet pregnant may feel a little but that is quite normal. Most of the ladies who are now pregnant have alread pobably experienced these feelings towards others,we get over this and I'm sure that the ladies who are not yet pregnant, will only be too pleased to share their own wonderful/bad pregnancy experiences when it's their turn with the bfp's, if we all start tip toeing around we will not be truly sharing and enjoying this thread. We want to know eveything about each other's lives the good and the bad, not hiding portions of it that are very important to us, so come on ladies keep up the good work, and lets see some charts so we can see how your getting along, we may be able to offer some advice X

Emmsy1 · 17/01/2009 11:49

scully have you contacted the hospital yet?
(or are you going to wait for the 2 weeks?)X

FruitynNutty · 17/01/2009 14:35

Hello ladies

Scully and Lola*

Mollie and Scully How do I go about getting a Sun newspaper holiday then? Perhaps starting to buy The Sun might be a good place to start? I'm seriously going to look into that!
Ooh, wedding preparations, well, ummmmm, I have no idea where to begin. Got a Confetti brochure in the post today, had a look through - seems all gimicky (sp?) crap to me. Saw some lovely, very basic invitations either this one or this one As you can see, I don't want all frills and bows, just a very simple style with nice writing. Seems a lot of money to me though. I wonder if I buy the card and do it myself on the pooter it might be much cheaper? Love the idea of a "Sweetie bar" on the tables - I'm sort of known for my "penny sweet" obsession.
Mollie I can totally sympathise with you about DH - they can be such arses at times. For instance, I asked DP (on Thursday) if he would stay in on Friday night as we were going to do the maternity ward tour Sat (today) at 9:30am and wanted him to be compus mentis and I didn't want to have to drag his hungover (and still pissed) ass out of bed. He said "no problem, will stay in". Surprise surprise, he phones me yesterday afternoon to ask if I would mind if he goes to his friend's house with another friend - wont be drinking, just having a meal (yeah right!)

  • Uh, yes, actually I would mind as you said you would stay in (duh) - especially as you were out Weds eve too!
To cut a long story short, he still went, drank all night and got in at 5am this morning We still went on the tour. He walked around in a daze, half asleep and practically oblivious to where he was. I really wish I'd gone on my own - felt really of all the women with their obviously doting and keen husbands walking hand in hand around the ward. I knew this would happen, it's the reason I asked him to stay in last night.

When I asked the midwife about having a birthing pool he said "what did you ask about that for? You're not giving birth to a dolphin!" I just wanted to whack him right there. He then continued to "joke" about having a dolphin and not a baby.
Oh yeah, then I said "ooh they have a photographer who comes around to take pictures of your baby" He says "why cant you just take pictures your self?" I tell you, he is on thin ice right now.

He is so unsupportive, I don't even think I want him to be there at the birth tbh.

That's my rant of the day

Lola My nausea (couldn't class it as MS) started around 6/7 weeks and finished right on 10 weeks. I felt completely normal after 10 weeks and have done ever since - except for this great big lump I'm carrying . Best thing is how lovely your nails get! I never have nice nails, I now keep scratching DS with my beautiful talons
Re the bump: I don't really know when it could be classed as a proper bump, I was extremely bloated from about 6.5 weeks though. I think it was at about 22 weeks that people realised it was a baby bump - but then again, most people knew I was pregnant very early on so I don't know really

Emmsy You're absolutely right there, just had a couple of days of guilt and remembering how I felt before - much more of a bitter old lady than mollie

Sparkly Where are you? Missing you loads!
Ei Put that bloody book down would you, you're being very anti-social!

Just going to go and have a look at piper's chart for today................................

scully · 17/01/2009 23:29

I just remember collecting coupons out of the Sun and possibly another newspaper as well, and we had cheap flights with Easyjet several times and we had a cheap caravan holiday in Cornwall as well. I was always so keen to get away and explore places that I looked into every cheap option
Must try and find the link to this fabulous place we stayed in, in France for a long weekend, so child friendly and reasonable as well. We stayed there when dd1 was little and I still remember it, years later.
Hi Emmsy, no I'll wait until my appt on Tues week, I'll be 16wks by then so hopefully we'll hear something then.
I agree with the nice nails Fruity, it's great isn't it. I'd also be at your dp, would not cope at all if my dh got home at 5am at any time, let alone when we had plans the following morning. How inconsiderate. My friend has had both her babies in a pool and she is a big fan of it, did they have one that could be used?

HappyandEiknowit · 18/01/2009 01:16

hi ladies
just thought i would say first... i have not been avoiding the thread at all even though there is alot of preggy related talk, i am so happy with everyones progress and personal happiness that i would never begrudge anyone a boast/rant/chat about it just because i am still in the queue doesnt mean i wont get my turn
now my reason for not being around... some plank spilled a drink on my laptop charger last week and i didnt notice until my battery ran out on monday!! i tried, somewhat stupidly, to dry it out and test it and blew the eleccy and electrocuted myself in the process so all in all eventful times for me!! BTW i have finished reading my books for now lol so no more antisociality for me fruity
well CD30 for me so AF due in 2 days time i think. me and DH BDed around the right time i think but who knows eh?!
im glad to see everyone is thriving
xx ei xx

I am feeling very jealous of all this holiday talk! This will be the first year of my life I won't have been abroad boo baby due in Aug and not finishing work 'til end of term so it's just not going to happen, may take a weekend break to health spa/golf resort with DH and friends though! Nice!!

piper let the BDing begin good luck hun

Mollie hee hee; yup 'petting' indeed, only word for it lol. Enjoy your last month of 'less stress' then x

Georgie lol at the enderwear squeezing! weekend away sound like the ticket hun! We tried a night in Hotel in Dec but had a row instead 'cos DH was pissed!!

Lola re questions; I was sicky straight away, hence testing so early, but it subsided around 10 weeks and now I'm cool! Had nasty bloating from 7 weeks if not earlier, and have to wear maternity trousers now because my usual sz 8's do not fit my now 'full' tummy, I certainly wouldn't say bump, but an obvious swell at 10/11 weeks(obvious to me) Hope you start to feel better soon x

fruity sorry about dp hun! sounds sh*!y xxxxxxxxxx As for invites I love the first set prefer top folding ones you see. Og and i love the 'confetti.com' wicked website!!!

Scully lol, snogging went well ta! and WOW on DD's love for housework! milk that one!!

Ei good luck!!!! Let us know if anything happens...or doesn't as the case may be!
