OH MY GOD..... I've just got tickets to see James McAvoy at the Apollo Theatre on 13th Feb . Am soooooooo excited! Wooo hoooooo.

What am I going to wear?!

Virgin Active are Grade A assholes. They think it's ok for their employees to blatantly withold information and purposefully lie to you. I'm arguing rather forcefully with the General Manager at the moment because I wasn't told that if I froze my membership, then the freeze period would be added onto the length of the memebership IYSWIM. F8ckers. Take some responsibility for the crap-ness of your stupid staff. Grrrr.

We've been out of the house for 10 months now. Looks like another 5 months before we are back in. Build was supposed to have been finished 30th Jan. Ha! Fat chance. Then end of March. Now end of May/early June. It's completely brankrupting us. No joke. Project Manager is wonderdful. She's taken a lot of day to day stress of me. She's really helped us to find new builders and to sack the cretins that we have. I'm just praying that the new builder is as good as he says he is. Good thing is that he's worked with Caroline (project manager) before and that this would be his only job. So hopefully that will all add up to hm concentrating on it and getting it done on time.

Ei Ouch. You spanner. Right, step away from the socket and pick up the book again!!!!

Lola Ah, I empathise with you my love. MS for me is a LONG drawn out affair. Mine's been on and off sine 4.5 weeks. Thought it had gone last week, but back with avengence this week. Been vomming every day. It will pass hon. As for bump. Hmm, with this one then would say tht 'bump' came at about 11 or 12 weeks, before that just looked like I'd eaten too many pies. But in mat jeans from 8 weeks .

TeeHee We had to move out cos the whole of the back of the house has come off. Also we had to excavate the basement. Too dangerous to stay there. Lob us over a donight! What colour did you choose and what room did you paint?

Mollie Behind every successful man is a suprised woman!!!!!

Fruity OMG. You cannot be serious about your DP? Jesus. I would have used his testicles for earrings. As for bithing pool. I used one for Libs. its was OK. I think the prob was they didn't have time to fill up enough and I couldn't get comfy. But, would like to try again with this one.

Emmsy Ah, words of wisdom from our leader. Lovely post. Wish I could have been so eloquent.

Right, better get on with supper. Tonight we have Gammon joint, boiled potatos with butter, steamed cabbage and hammy gravey. Can you tell I'm from an Irish family?!?!

Sorry, forgot to say that it'd be great to do another meet up very soon. Should we try somewhere outside of Lon? Or is it easier for those that are not in Lon to get to Lon rather than elsewhere? Does that make sense?

Need to get something arranged before Fruity and TeeHee drop!!!

OP posts:

Evening.

Thanks for the MS/bump experiences. This time queaziness (sp?) started at 5.5 ish weeks, then full on feeling dreadful since 7+0 last saturday. Last time it stopped somewhere around 10 weeks but it was never as bad as this and of course my hormones were really low last time cos of what was wrong with Thomas, so this time who knows... Have put in a request for something like Fruity though! Today (8+1) was the first time my jeans were too tight, although they are relatively small. Luckily, due to the mc's () I have a variety of sizes of jeans! 8,10,12 and maternity! So hopefully that should cover it!!

So sorry to be so mememe, just finding it hard to think straight atm.

Fruity I am very on your behalf at your "not-so-D"P. He is incredibly lucky to have you, he really doesn't seem to realise that Hope you're ok xx

Bella any chance you could go away over the school easter holidays? What's your EDD btw? Good luck for your nuchal this week, let us know how you get on xx

Georgie so glad your project manager is up to the job, even if the appalling builders weren't Hopefully if she recommends the new ones they should be good, her reputation rests on it. When should they be able to start? HATE to think of you still throwing up now. Really don't know how you're coping, you are one tough cookie

Ei glad you didn't manage to electrocute yourself too badly! It's a bugger when something happens to the laptop power lead though, I remember Nemo chewed through mine when he was a puppy. Just as well he was so cute or he would have been drop kicked!

Fruity I couldn't see the invites too clearly for some reason, but I think I prefer the first ones too, really liked them in fact. Going to see if I can find you a pic of ours in a sec... I LOVE weddings!

Speaking of which, DP phoned from his piss-up in London last night all excited because we'd been invited to this guy's wedding... at a castle... in Florence!!! On the August bank holiday weekend.... Baby's due on 30th... Told him he can go if he wants, but he can save money by only getting a one way flight because that's all he'll need! He asked me why I was so touchy about it... Men hey?? Think he gets it now though

Right. Off to look for invites for Fruity Big love to all xx

FruitynNutty · 19/01/2009 09:25

Morning girls,

Thanks everyone for the comments about not-so-D P, nice to know it's not me being irrational - he likes to make me believe I'm the one with the problem - please remind me why I'm marrying him? Waste of money of you ask me.

Scully They have a Midwife Led Unit called The Carmen Suite. There are only two labour rooms though, both with a pool in. Was told there is nearly always one free as people assume they are full and don't bother to ask Trouble is my consultant mentioned last time I saw him that I would probably not be allowed in there due to my last c-section I will ask him again when I see him next and if he says no then I will threaten to have my baby at home - should soon change his mind
Ei I'm also having charger problems No idea what's wrong with ours but when it's plugged into the laptop it has real trouble charging, I have to really wriggle it around to pick up the charge then as soon as I let go it stops charging again. Seems to be ok just now if I keep it really still. Problem is, it's a Macbook Pro so needs an Apple charger which costs a bloody fortune - stupid DP and his bloody gadgets, why we couldn't just buy a normal laptop I'll never know!
Best of luck for this cycle!
Bella Poor you for not being able to go on holiday for the 1st time I honestly can't remember the last time we had a holiday, I think we went to Spain last Christmas, or it might have been the Christmas before No idea, can't remember anyway. Hopefully we'll get a holiday this year - Honeymoon! That's if the wedding doesn't get cancelled, Perhaps I should suggest to my Dad to get Wedding insurance?
Confetti website is fantastic but I'm finding it really hard to find nice wedding bits that don't look tacky or done-to-death. I've taken advantage of the wedding tools and budget planner etc..
How are you? I also had that "Tummy swell" baby will soon pop out of your pelvis though and show an obvious bump
Georgie That membership freeze thing is a PITA isn't it? I'll have about 8 months to pay when I unfreeze mine I can't see me ever being able to afford it again TBH - still, I dont have a limited time to freeze it - which you normally have to have so can't complain. I'll just keep it frozen until Mr Branson decides to sell the gyms
What's James McAvoy in at the Apollo? I adore him, he's gorgeous Very
Lola What the hell is wrong with our DP/DH's lately? Yours can take a running jump too! WOuld love to se your invites if you can find them
Sparkly I hope you're ok?
Piper any news on your temps? I'll go check them out now.................

FruitynNutty · 19/01/2009 09:26

Oh Piper you've not filled in your chart!!!!

BellaHarry · 19/01/2009 13:15

Lola All sounds good for you then, nice strong symptoms! I found the sickness strangely re-assuring and miss it if I'm honest. I will look at doing something in Easter, but DH is really concerned about money; we're still paying off the wedding..oops! My EDD is currently 6th Aug!!! Two more wakeups 'til scan, will let you know xx

Fruity You're right I have been rather lucky in the past . I really can't wait 'til proper bump! You're not serious about cancelling the wedding surely, it can't be that bad??? sending you a big hug ooooo xxx

FruitynNutty · 19/01/2009 13:38

Hi Bella Well I do wonder what on earth I'm doing marrying someone who I moan about so much. I think it's my fault for choosing to be with someone 2 years younger than me - he still thinks he's a 18 year old batchelor - he's 27 ffs! Can't afford not to be with him tbh, might as well get married and put up with it.
Ei I forgot to ask you about your electric shock, hope you're ok Scary eh!
Cricri and Emmsy and Mibbes How are those gorgeous babies of yours?

piper84 · 19/01/2009 13:48

Hi Fruity

you can blame Ei for lack of temps I picked up the twilight book on friday and have been reading ever since on the last one now though

nice high temp from me this morning , still no confirmed ov but i "know" i definitly did

Fruity re DP, i would go with Georgies* idea about the earrings

big waves to everyone else, going back to do a bit of reading

BellaHarry · 19/01/2009 16:31

fruity no one's perfect x

teeheelaydee · 19/01/2009 18:40

Evening ladies

Ei Nice to see you back and safe and well - Christ lady be careful!! Fingers crossed that this is your month - please keep us updated. Not sure if electric shock treatment helps TTC but we'll see hey

Georgie Your build does sound like an absolute nightmare, hopefully this will be a turning point and some good will come of it. At least the project manager was a good idea - before you got her you would have been doing all this on you own. Makes our small projects seem manageable. We are decorating the dining room at the moment, doesn't sound like it should be a priority but it is right in the middle of the house and every room was decorated really badly before we moved in and this one still has the marks on the wall where they had loads of pictures up. DP did floor last week - which looks fantastic, woodwork is now done in a pale beigeish colour and the walls will be white - sounds rather dull but we have some nice stuff to put on the walls and want the floor to stand out or 'pop' as DP (Laurence Lewelyn Bowen!!) says

Scully Hope you are enjoying your new fans and your DD's are behaving themselves. How sweet of DH to get them all ready for bed but 4:30! Bet they wondered what was going on. Don't forget we are here for a rant should you need one this week.

Bella The time between the end of the sickness (about 14 weeks for me) and the baby starting to kick were some of the hardest I think but hopefully your scan will give you comfort for a bit. Hope it all goes well on Weds (?)

Fruity I can't really see the 1st invitations that will but think I prefer them. Mind you, you always seem pretty good with the computer so I would have a play if I were you, particularly if you haven't fallen in love with anything else. That is if you still want to marry him after the weekends display - how did you not explode?

Also Lola It just doesn't seem to sink in with them does it! What with you, Fruity and Mollie this weekend my DP is seems worth hanging onto atm! Hope you are coping with your long days, how long does this go on for?

Piper Another Twilight convert hey - might have to indulge whilst I have the time to read I think. When is AF due for you, or are you trying not to think about that.

Mollie Are you driving your shiny new car yet? Has DH been forgiven yet?

Sparkly Where are you? Not long til Disney now and the end of the placement is in sight? Was everyone impressed with your puppet display?

Ladies with babies - let us know how you're doing, hope the quietness from you is because you are enjoying your LO's and not too knackered to even type!

Been hearing loads of stuff about how this is miserable monday - does anyone know why? Hope you are all cheery, as far as you can be on a Monday!!

BellaHarry · 19/01/2009 19:04

Thanks Teehee really hopeing all goes well with scan will post pics wed eve x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/01/2009 20:17

Ah TeeHee do you really want to know why it's being called Miserable Monday? Everyone in the City is being royal f8cked. Scuse my language. DH works for one of the big UK banks and has found out today that he's been shafted on his bonus. Really shafted. We are f8cked. Have no idea how we're going to finish the build. But we have to and the chances are that we'll be severely in debt, with a new baby and a HUGE mortgage. He's been in the pub since 11am and is now AWOL. RBS have made the biggest loss in history (think it's £20 mill). The whole of the city is poised to implode and riot. It's not a good place to be at the moment.

So for us ther's no holiday this year. No childcare, no luxury's, no nothing. I know there's the argument that bankers get paid too much. But my DH leaves the house at 5.45am every morning, works for 15 hours straight, 5 days a week. Has incredible stress and huge targets to meet. He deserves every penny he gets.

So, for us, it is Miserable Sodding Monday. Anyone got a spare room we can use? Or failing that £150k would come in handy!

Will leave you with joke to lighten the mood:

A dyslexic man walks into a bra.....

Geddit?

Thank you, I'll be here all week.

OP posts:
HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/01/2009 20:28

Bella Good luck with the scan on Wed. Have got my fingers crossed for you that all goes well.

Scully How's it going without DH? You coping? Bet the fans are lovely on a hot summers night.

Fruity Maybe we should start up a 2 women campaign of hate for Virgin Active?!

TeeHee Dining room sounds lovely. Bet it looks very fresh and airy. Blinds or curtains?

Ei Good luck for this month. But you'll have to put the book down!!!!

Lola How you feeling doll? Have found that baby fruit pots are really good. Very bland, easy to digest and not too acidic. Only wy I can get some fruit into me at the mo.

Still can't locate DH. He's not answering phone. If he's in a strip club I'll have his bollocks for earring tomorrow morning!

OP posts:
scully · 19/01/2009 22:06

Had forgotten it is bonus time in the City. I used to enjoy that week, but I did work there when things were good, looks like I got out at a good time. I always thought the people I worked with were overpaid, and still milked it for all they could, but they did work long hours and the bank made huge profits from their hard work, so at least they got something back for it. I'm betting they are all mighty peeved (but not surprised) that their bonuses are crap this year. Especially as I used to work for ML and they have been bought out
Hope the financial worries don't stress you too much George. Can you scale back your build and just do the minimum or has too much been done already?
Good luck with the scan Bella
More diy Teehee, we'll have to see some photos, room by room as they are finished
How are you after your electric shock Ei?
I have similar taste to you Fruity, simple and understated. I did my own invitations, and that was 10yrs ago where there wasn't the programmes and good printers available and they still looked good. I would give it a go doing them yourself, nothing to lose and won't cost much to experiment. Always seemed ridiculous to me to spend all this money on something that people throw out after the big day
But our wedding wasn't a big posh formal affair so I could get away with it
I don't think 27 is that young, and 2yrs isn't a big age difference. Do his friends have young families?
Thinking about taking the dd's to the movies this morning, to see 'Bolt'. Was going to go to the Sunshine Coast for the day, but might do that Friday instead, I'm only working 2 days this week

Good morning

That's sounds really shitty Georgie You sound incredibly stressed I hope you managed to relax last night, what happened to DH? We can have a good old moan about no money, crap men, shitty builders and last but not least, Virgin Active over pizza tomorrow Sod the lot of them I say! I think, between us, we can put the world to rights.
Very good joke btw

Teehee If I exploded every time DP pissed me off, I'd be in a home for the criminally insane by now (obviously DP would be at the bottom of the Thames too)

Piper So your recommend this Twilight seies then? I've no idea what it's about but might google it. I need a good book to get my teeth into. How's the temp today?

Scully I agree about spending stupid money on something that'll get thrown away anyway. The Wedding's going to cost enough as it is (poor old dad eh )
It's just the thought of scrimping and saving just to survive when my Dad's spending so much on one day Seems insane to me but I don't think my Mum would have it any other way - especially as he spent so much on my half-sis's wedding. She feels like I should get as much as she did .
I might have a go at making the invites. It's bound to be miles cheaper.
About DP, yes, quite a few of his friends have young children. Trouble is, they're all as bad as each other, just lead each other astray
I've never heard of "Bolt" - gonna have to google that now

scully · 20/01/2009 10:52

It's school holidays here so it might not come out there until half term. It's animated, with Miley Cyrus and John Travolta doing the lead voices. Quite good. dd1 got teary at the end for a few minutes but it did have a happy ending. dd2 thought she was a dog half way through the movie and starting licking dd1 and I, little nutcase that she is But for someone who has just turned 3, she is doing way better than I thought she would, sitting still in the movies, her 2nd in 2 weeks.
Saw the preview for Ice Age 3, looks good as well, can't remember when that comes out though.
I asked for the Twilight books for Xmas but dh couldn't find them Am also keen to read them, I need a good story that doesn't require loads of concentration, as I don't have any left by the time I get to read at night
You do sound patient Fruity, if my eldest child was 3, I would not be impressed with dh getting home so late on more than once occasion a year Mind you, it works both ways, he would also expect the same from me.
With dh away all week, I have them both sleeping in my bed. 1st night it was just dd1 but dd2 cottoned on last night so she joined us last night and again tonight. dd2 is a bit wriggly, but otherwise it was ok. Nice that the bed isn't empty at least.
How's things this morning Georgie, did dh come home eventually? Is his job at least safe for now?
Not much help to anyone feeling crappy in the northern hemisphere, but I've found grapes and nectarines lovely to eat the last few weeks. Have really been feeling like fresh, uncomplicated food lately, and still, not much meat.

BellaHarry · 20/01/2009 12:15

Thanks for all the good lucks, will post tomorrow pm pics and all!

Georgie I'm sos sorry that sound so stressful! xxx

Emmsy1 · 20/01/2009 15:00

Bella best wishes for the scan tomorrow X
Georgie hope your ok after the shitty news about your DH's bonus? Is there any chance that you could take out an extra loan, maybe off a kind hearted family member?
P.S have you made any new ear rings lately?
Ei hope your ok after your scary experience, did you have to go to hospital?
fruity Amy had her 2nd injections today, it was heart breaking to hear her scream, it gets to me every time, you think I would be used to it by now
Your DP doesn't deserve you, I used to moan about mine before I married him, I moan even more now, but I didn't live with him first, you have an advantage of knowing his bad habits, so you can still change your mind I wonder if you won the lottery would you still marry him If I won now, I would seriously consider living in a different house than my DH, I tell him this all the time, he thinks I'm joking!
scully I have a little boy who likes to lick people, he likes to think he is being a cute little puppy, it drives me mad, he is aged 7! Our yorkshire terrier always licks my DH feet, it knocks me sick, I have never been a foot person, but my DH's are down right repulsive I can't stand the dog licking any of the children,it's bad enough that he licks his bits & bobs, but my DH Feet!! think I must go and be sick now XX

FruitynNutty · 21/01/2009 09:09

Morning ladies

Scully DS and I had a look at the trailer for Bolt. Looks really good, DS thought it was very funny. I don't know when it comes out over here but as you say, it'll probably be out at half term.
Bella Best of luck for today, I can't remember what time it is? I'll text you later anyway xx
Emmsy Aw poor Amy It really is heartbreaking isn't it All for a good cause though
About DP, I've no idea if I would marry him if I won the lottery. I reckon if we had any spare money at all, we'd be much happier (I don't believe people who say money doesn't cause happiness ) so maybe I would marry him . Perhaps then he could afford to take me out for a change
Georgie Looking forward to our pizza tonight. I've told DP to be in by 7pm!

teeheelaydee · 21/01/2009 10:53

Morning

Ahhh Georgie you sound really fed up. It all sounds a bit pants to say the least, but once the dust settles and you get your head around it I'm sure you will find it. RBS was £8 billion, no profit sharing for me this year I guess - they can't really share a loss - or at least I hope not they might be expecting the staff to pay them! Blinds or curtains? Mmmm not sure atm, putting the old curtains back for now as this is a bit of a "let's get the messy stuff done before the baby arrives". I was thinking a might go for both so that we can have light floor length curtains without blocking out all the heat. Scully I will try for some photos but it took me 26 weeks to get the bump online so don't hold you breath. . Love the image of DD2 being a dog - vv funny!! DP saw Bolt the other day on the laptop (shhh) and said really funny.

Emmsy So there's no getting used to the needle thing then? Rest assured it was probably more upsetting for you than her.

Fruity If DP is not home by 7 I am taking the matter into my own hands and instructing Georgie to expand her earring collection!! Bella is local too so I'd like to see him wrangle with 3 pg women!!

Have friend and her adorable 9 month girl coming over for lunch today, haven't seen her since before Christmas so should be good.
