I'm still here
Fruity Sounds like you enjoyed your unplanned day off and that it was also productive, which is always nice. Funnily enough I've been sorting through Elise's clothes tonight and putting away all the ones that are now too small - how quickly it happense! I've kept a couple of her newborn babygros for the memory box I'm going to do for her. DH finally went into the loft and got down the 3-6 month clothes we've been given so I've been sorting through those - we've got so many and I'm sure she won't wear half of them!
She was weighed and measured today - 6.3kg (14lbs) and 61cm No wonder she's in 3-6 month clothes.
Georgie We had the second osteopath appt this pm and it went well. The osteo worked on her diaphragm again as it's still a bit tight. The explosive poos have eased off though so something is having an effect! She also worked on the base of her skull - something is slightly misaligned which could be causing pressure. Didn't quite catch what she was saying due to Elise's screaming at that point!
I'm off to Bluewater tomorrow to meet up with a couple of ladies from my AN/PN thread which will be nice. When are we going to have another meet-up?
Hope everybody else is ok, I've been thinking about Mollie in particular as I know it's a difficult week for her.

FruitynNutty · 14/01/2009 22:04

Hi Cricri I'm off to bed now. Been trying to talk to Mollie on MSN but it keeps signing me out No idea why MN works and MSN doesn't! very weird.
I can't believe Elise is getting so big now. They grow too quickly. You'll be wanting another one soon

scully · 15/01/2009 08:02

Hi
I'm supposed to be cooking dinner, so just a quick question, had my booking in appt yesterday and they listened for the heartbeat but couldn't get it. mw said it was because baby is very low down, could get my pulse and the cord pulse but not the baby's hb. Do you think this sounds right that at 14wks they won't always be able to find it? It was very staticcy, but apart from scans I've never heard the hb until later in a pregnancy.
I go back in 2wks to see the consultant, so hopefully he will try again then and put me out of my misery. I have another scan at 20wks but not waiting until then.
Had better go and check dinner, will be back later

FruitynNutty · 15/01/2009 08:44

Do you think your placenta could be in the way? Sometimes it's at the front. I know this can make it hard to feel baby move but maybe it can also make it hard to hear heart beat? I've no idea really, just a thought

scully · 15/01/2009 10:50

Don't know, she just mentioned that because the baby is generally very low down, it can be hard to always hear the hb, because of the pubic bone? She did say that before I even lay down. hb was very clear on scan last week but I'm still not entirely relaxed about it all.

scully · 15/01/2009 11:10

ok, thinking about hiring a doppler, should one of you be trying to talk me out of this idea? Maybe I just need to get some sleep, it is 9.10pm here.....

FruitynNutty · 15/01/2009 13:47

I was thinking yesterday about everyone here and realised that I really miss the old banter we all used to have about everything.
I've noticed that this thread has become more of an anti-natal thread - and I'm probably the main culprit!
It's very difficult not to go on about pregnancy when it's something that has taken such a terribly long time (and loss for most of us) to achieve - especially when you feel as though it was never ever going to happen and its all you can think of.
I remember when a friend of mine fell pregnant (by accident ) and it was all she would talk about (quite understandably) so I avoided her as much as I could. Another few friends fell pregnant immediately after stopping contraception and, again, they were obviously very excited but it just made me feel more of a failure and extremely angry that it wasn't happening for me

However, we still have four amazingly patient and strong girls who need our support more than ever after what they've been through and, putting myself in their shoes, I think I would be avoiding this thread like the plague at the moment

Obviously we should express our concerns if we have any but perhaps less of the 'baby talk'? Please don't feel like you've got to hold back if you're worried about something though.

Having spoken to Mollie last night, I expressed my concerns about the thread and she said that it seems to be the general feeling which made me feel really as this is supposed to be a supportive conception thread and I feel like we've taken over a bit.

I hope this doesn't come across badly because I don't mean it like that at all. I just want us all to feel comfortable in here. We're all such good friends and none of us should feel like we can't be here.

Please come back Sparkly, Ei, Mollie and Piper! We miss yoooouuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW Scully Do not get a doppler you mad woman!

Emmsy1 · 15/01/2009 14:46

scully ring the hospital and ask them for another appt or scan asap. you will be at your wits end if you have to wait 2 wks for confirmation that your baby is fine! I wouldn't suggest getting a doppler, think that you will send your self into a right state if you can't find the hb yourself, anyway they know exactly where to look. Really hope all is well XXX

BellaHarry · 15/01/2009 19:50

fruity I see what you mean, I joined the thread for conception help and found people's interest in my ff chart comforting. Do we have access to a chart for the conception girls??

teeheelaydee · 15/01/2009 20:44

Hi ladies

Scully I agree with Emmsy, put your mind at rest and get them to have another look. I know a doppler is tempting and alot of ladies on the knicker checkers thread have them but I think it could make matters worse.

Fruity I agree and actually miss chatting about a variety of things - Mollie, Sparkly, Piper, Ei Please come back - we miss you LOTS. Also missing our Mummy types. Hope you are OK Mibbes you have been quiet.

Georgie Meant to say totally sympathise with your rant about PIL! What a nightmare. It is my parent/step-parents that are doing my head in at the moment. None of them seem to be able to start a sentence without the words "What you should do is..." or "I think you should...." Arrrrrgh. I've started avoiding the phone!

Cricri How was Bluewater - did you manage to stay away from the shops?

Oh my god - it's 8:45 - I need to get in my bed !!! Must get off the internet. Speak to you all soonxx

cricri · 15/01/2009 21:43

Scully I asked my mw to check for a hb at 13 weeks and she said there was only a 50% chance of finding it. I don't think HCPs can find it reliably using a hand-held doppler until around 16-18 weeks, depending on the position of the placenta as Fruity says. Do not get a doppler, you'll drive yourself nuts if you can't find the hb one day, that way madness lies. Get the hospital to take another look if you can and put your mind at rest. I'm sure everything is fine though.
Teehee We were so busy chatting that we hardly did any shopping! Cheap day out I suppose Good fun too.
Fruity I totally agree, and I'm sorry all the talk about babies has made people feel uncomfortable, you're right, we should be more sensitive Please come back Mollie, Ei, Sparkly and Piper, we miss you!

piper84 · 15/01/2009 22:07

Hello lovely ladies

Fruity Bella Teehee Scully Georgie & Kate (think thats all the pregnant ladies sorry if i forgot anybody) I can honestly say i dont mind the pregnancy talk at all! I'm taking it all in for when its my turn
Of course you are going to want to talk about this amazing experience you all are going through , especially you fruity I have "known" you since our waiting room days and was thrilled to bits when you finally got your bfp!

I know my time will come but in the meantime its nice to hear about the success stories

piper update
clomid symptoms are grand this month thank god, had a few horrible headaches earlier on when i was taking the tablets but since then all good finally got a opk + and was using the preseed and now i'm on the 2ww, only another 15 days of symptom spotting to go..............
Oh got accepted to college for vet nurse this week too!

HerNameWasLola · 15/01/2009 22:13

Bloody puppy just stood on the laptop and deleted the msg I was about to post

To recap, I totally with Fruity and I'm very sorry not to have realised what was happening without her needing to write it. I have relied so heavily on you all for the last 4 weeks, I haven't paid enough attention to everyone else's lives. I know you all understand what I'm going through atm, but that doesn't mean you need a day-by-day account. Will try harder. And am def up for talking about other things, prob do me good! I can't guarantee to be the one thinking of interesting things atm though. My life currently: wake up - try not to throw up - eat - drive 65 miles - try not to fall asleep/throw up - eat - try not to fall asleep/throw up - drive 65 miles - try not to throw up - eat - try not to throw up - go to bed. Good hey??? Not complaining, just struggling a bit. Acupuncture on sat, can't wait! (sorry Bella! ) Am really hoping it will make me feel better.

In other news... went to a very very sad funeral today for a truly remarkable wonderful lady. She was 67 when she died (on boxing day) and had had rheumatoid arthritis since her 20s. In the end it destroyed every joint in her body including her spine so she was paralysed and her eyes so she was blind. And yet, in spite of everything, she was the most cheerful, irrepressible, mischevious, loving, brave, sparkly lady I've ever met. Her husband and children all spoke about her during the service, they were incredible. A real tribute to her. There were about 200 people at the service, and afterwards everyone was saying they'd never laughed so much at a funeral. I think she would have approved

Also found out yday that my grandad's wife has died. All a bit weird due to complicated family stuff. My grandad died last June (aged 91) and I hadn't seen her since. Think I'll go to the funeral though, she loved my grandad whatever else she may have done (my grandparents divorced in their 70s so he could marry her - she was about 50, only 10 years older than my dad! it was like Coronation Street in our house for a bit! I had to have a day off school to go to my grandad's wedding! ) My sister's never forgiven her for things she said about my grandma (who so far as anyone could tell didn't really care too much abut the divorce...) Families huh!?!?

Speaking of which, Georgie I fall to my knees and worship you for that comment to your MIL when I next see you I want a full reconstruction!

More cheerfully, we're off to Devon for a week in March I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Big love to all xx

HerNameWasLola · 15/01/2009 22:21

X posts Piper fab news, both about +OPK and vet nurse college! How long does the course take?

Scully I meant to say before, I agree totally with CriCri, don't get a doppler, they're not reliable at your stage anyway and that way madness DEFINITELY lies, go and get checked out to put your mind at rest. SO unlikely anything is wrong at your stage given your nuchal. But you know this. Doesn't help when you wake up at 4 in the morning though does it? One of the girls on Knicker Checkers is a mw, said she doesn't use them before 16 weeks for the exact reasons Cricri gave. xx

scully · 16/01/2009 08:51

Thx ladies, am feeling calmer tonight. I've also avoided dopplers previously for all those reasons, so won't be getting one just a random moment of madness.
Good point Fruity, we have been having a lot of pregnancy chat lately. Guess it's easier here than a big ante-natal thread where I feel a bit lost I have to say. But this is a conception thread so I will try harder.
Also loved your comment to your MIL Georgie I can't stand people touching my stomach either, like it becomes public property, I don't think so
Sounds like things are going well Piper, I look forward to hearing updates
How was Bluewater Cricri? Great shopping centre, did lose my car in the carpark once, ws looking on the wrong level completely
Have found some rather nice wine which is 25% less alcohol, so am indulging in a glass tonight, it was 34deg today, thank god I was at work in the air conditioning.

teeheelaydee · 16/01/2009 09:41

Scully lol at you losing you car!! I can totally imagine doing that myself. Glad you are a bit calmer, know what you mean about the AN threads - mine is huge and you just get ignored so I gave up. Sounds hot with you - don't worry aren't your ceiling fans on the way!

Piper Don't disappear on us if you are on the 2ww we will be on tenderhooks! Great news about college too. Do you have to wait til sept to start? Mollie and I will have to dust off our jazz hands to start the BFP dance.

Lola A holiday, how lovely and you will be well on your way by then. Sounds like a real slog for you atm - when does the travelling ease up? I was going to say Hove is a nice place to go to but you probably don't see much of it - just the court! Go for walk to the sea at lunchtime - in this weather that will wake you up.

Mollie Hope this week has been OK for you. I have been thinking of you lots. Sending you lots of positive mental attitude vibes.

Hello to everyone else - I must go, promised myself I would be out of the house by 9:30 and I still have to have breakfast- must get going.

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 09:52

Morning, I'm so tired this morning and my hair looks like a bird's nest. Going off to playgroup in a minute so thought I'd pop my head in and make sure I haven't scared you all off with my post

Bella just gotta wait for the girls to post their charts and then we can have a good old nose
Scully I caught myself eyeing up the dopplers in Boots a few weeks ago but then remembered that it would be madness!
I agree about those anti-natal threads, they are huge and no one replies when you pst either. My one seems very cliquey so have steered away.
Cricri I haven't been to Bluewater for ages We have Westfield not far from me which is just like Bluewater. It's great fun! All the shops look really snazzy. Even Adams looks like a snazzy mini Topshop!
I'm desperate to go to Blooming Marvellous as I've heard they have gone/are going into administration - might find some real bargains.
Lola shame to hear about all your sad news I'm glad the funeral wasn't all doom and gloom though.
Sounds like you'll need your break in Devon! should be lovely. Have you hired a cottage? or staying at a hotel?
Piper So pleased the Clomid seems to be taking affect! Best of luck for the 2WW! I hope it doesnt drag too much.

Right, better go and wake mindee and rush off to playgroup!
xx

scully · 16/01/2009 11:36

Westfield is an Australian company, I have a Westfield shopping centre about 10min from here
Took me a while to get used to the High St idea when I first got over there, was more used to shopping centres. There was one in Basingstoke I went to a few times that was good as well.
I found a a nice antenatal group on here last time with dd2, didn't we Ei The due in July one is still a bit big though although it may reduce a bit as time goes on.
Forgot to say before, congrats on the college success as well Piper, you'll be busy if you get a bfp and study as well
dh and I are currently tossing up if we should go on a 7 day cruise in the South Pacific in March, what do you think? here
9.35pm here, I'm off to bed now, to dream of ceiling fans which I should have by tomorrow night

Molliemooma · 16/01/2009 11:42

Mollie shyly peeps round the door, wondering if everyone thinks she's a bitter twisted non-pg woman who hates everyone with a bump

Just wanted to show my face, will catch up at home later with everyone.

Fruity

Love you all guys x

BellaHarry · 16/01/2009 11:46

piper congratulations on the course! and good luck for that awful 2ww, I know it's impossible to but try not to become too pre-occupied, I sent myself mad. What date is AF due or hopefully not due then? And what are the chlomid symptoms?

Wow my year 7's are noisy! they are designing a 3 course menu for a vegetarian! they are so lively but all working really hard so I will not shout! want to...wont

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 11:48

Mollie you are certainly not a bitter twisted woman! Nobody thinks that. We've all been there and know exactly what it feels like

BellaHarry · 16/01/2009 11:51

scully that sounds lovely..a cruise! Mmmm. Really funny how little there is around you though, was it 4 stops?

BellaHarry · 16/01/2009 11:53

fruity we're doing it again, posting at the same tim!! x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/01/2009 14:54

Mollie Sparkly Ei and Piper Really sorry that you've been feeling so uncomfortable. And sorry it's got to this stage for us to notice. Will try much much harder. But thank you for all your support when things went pear shaped with the nuchal. Really hope that you will come back now. Thanks Fruity for being so brave and bringing it to our attention. xxxxxxxx

OP posts:
Molliemooma · 16/01/2009 15:20

Please don't think that we were all feeling uncomfortable, I'm not speaking for the others, it's just Fruity and I had a chat on MSN the other night and the subject was brought up about the amount of pg based talk.
Although I am grateful that Fruity said something I really don't want people to think that they can't share on here, I still want to know about worries/scans/scares/happiness/pictures etc so please please don't feel restricted or worried about what you post all of you.

Mollie so wishes she kept her mouth shut now
