Hi guys, thought I'd sneak on while Jack's napping

Sparkly Fab news about your symptoms, I hope they don't last long though.....and if they don't last long, don't panic! My symptoms stopped at 10 weeks. Everyone's different and every pregnancy is different so no comparing to your preg with DD. Get that appointment booked lady!
And about your win! If you can't think of anything to spend it on then send it this way Actually I thoroughly recommend buying a Bugaboo with some of it. Maybe get a 2nd hand Frog (which I've heard are actually better then the Chameleon) on Ebay then you'll have lots left over to spend on secret scans . I took mine out today for a little walk and had forgotten how much I love it
Teehee Wow, I want a patchwork cushion! I'm so about your skills.
I bet you can't believe you're next I just can't wait for the next addition to our little thread family
Mollie I think I'm in love with you DH after that wonderful thing he said to you on Mother's Day I didn't even get a card
Ei Glad to hear you're being so positive. I've heard that a good old bonk is the way to go so just do it, bonk to your heart's content! If nowt happens this cycle then I reckon the HSG might just sort things out for you
Scully I wouldn't let a name being popular put you off. It's ever so popular here too. If you love it then go for it!
Lola I think it's wonderful you're feeling so good today and you certainly shouldn't be feeling guilty about it. But, like the others have said, if you start to wobble please write it all down for us. It'll make you feel a lot better
I'd love to know what you bought from Jojo
Emmsy cricri Mibbes Are those babies keeping you on your toes? I can totally understand why it's so hard to post on here when you have a newborn. I can hardly believe I've written this much! - He's still asleep!

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments about Jack. He's really starting to get quite cute now I take back everything I said now, I promise not to be mean anymore
We went out on a little outing this morning. I wanted to buy some clothes that actually fit my little munchkin without drowning him. I didn't have anything in "newborn" size as I assumed he'd be a whopper. Even the 0-3 month clothes swamp him.
In fact, I'm feeling crappy now because the midwife weighed him yesterday and said he'd gone down to 7lb 12oz from 8lb 5oz She seemed to think that was a lot and is going to weigh him again on Thursday. He might need to see the paediatrician - I knew my flipping milk was crap I'm not going to cave though. I refuse to give him formula because I felt so bad about it last time around (I have nothing against formula btw, it's just a personal thing I have with my rubbish body functions)
My lovely doula has offered to take me to a breast feeding class on Friday . I'll just keep at it. I know babies always lose weight in the 1st few days. I'm pretty sure my milk is starting to come in now though - although I can't express even a thimbleful.

So we even managed to get DS's feet measured and we went for lunch in Frankie and Benny's! Impressed? - obviously not about the venue

Right, gonna go and poke my baby, gotta feed him up!.........

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 24/03/2009 14:39

Hello lovely ladies. Not swanning around in spa's or shopping til I drop. Honest. DH only started his gardening leave today. Rather excitingly I've been really busy with making decisions for the build. Hooray. It's all getting exciting again now. we have a roof and the internal stud walls are going to be up by Friday so will be able to see the dimensions of the rooms. Eek.

I will post more tomorrow. We're off out tonight for a meeting at DD2's nursery. Then might catch a movie.

MW appt tomorrow. I know that Tedwood is OK as she's constantly kicking me in the crutch! Little bugger. She's a wriggler that's for sure.

Lovely to catch up on all the news. Seems as if we're having a good roll of it on the thread now. Hip hip hooray. AND the sun is shining.

OPK says +ve so guess what we're doing tonight

teeheelaydee · 24/03/2009 15:14

Fruity I am so impressed with you shopping and lunching - and your long post! Don't worry about the weight loss - I think that's quite normal but then what do I know. It's still early days so keep at it. Breastfeeding class sounds like a marvellous idea. that you didn't even get a card on Sunday!

Bella I can't believe how clear your pictures are. They came out really well. Your vibes won't travel to Norwich or Oz then?

I really can't take photos of cushions when we have scans and babies to look at - but when my Dad brings over the chair he is lending me I will take some photos of the nursery and promise the cushions will be in it!

Sparkly Ooh don't start spending your £700 on scans - you'll end up blowing the lot!! I had my heart set on a Bugaboo but after looking at some others I changed my mind, still go every time I see one out though. So can't really help with what to blow the cash on but make sure it's something you will enjoy - no bills!!

Lola I think it's great that you are feeling good today. There is no law that we must be at certain times and I think it shows you have grieved in a really healthy way up until now. Some maternity clothes will help your mood - it is like a weight being lifted when you fell like 'you' again.

Ei Sounds like a plan

Georgie How lovely that you can do all the nice bits of the build now and leave all the rubbish to someone else (ie: DH )

Scully Well done for you patience. A couple of times in the last few weeks I wish we'd found out but deep down I'm glad we haven't. Will it get me through labour do you think? We haven't even decided on names and are waiting until Sticky is here.

I can't actually believe I'm at the top of the list. It feels so surreal. It has taken 2 years to get to this point and at some stages I NEVER thought we would get here. Can't imagine actually having a baby - so looks like I'm in for a shock!!

Another long post - but there is so much nice stuff going on a the moment. We need another BFP soon to keep up all this good news.

teeheelaydee · 24/03/2009 15:16

x-post Mollie - very exciting - sure you don't want to watch the last episode of Mistresses instead?

Molliemooma · 24/03/2009 16:30

Fruity I too am impressed at your mammoth post! Fingers crossed that Jack starts putting on some weight soon, I'm sure goldtop will work wonders
TeeHee We will expect the same you mammoth posts from you too in a few weeks when you are home with your newborn

I'm off to dig out the pre-seed!

BellaHarry · 24/03/2009 16:39

Teehee I had a boy feeing for you hun; whilst I was reading your post, but like I said i need to meet to know for sure so if I'm wrong with your lo I'm not counting it in my 100% record! lol

Mollie get 'dancing' then! And fingers crossed for you this month xx

oh Georgie that all sounds fantatic about the build! I love when you can really see the transformations taking place!

Fruity well done with that post! Don't worry about little Jack he'll be fine, everything I read about b milk says he will get what he needs and so long as the nappies are getting wetted thats fine! My mum used to get bullied by her mw about me not gaining enough weight and I was/am absolutely fine, never even had a filling or broken a bone so I got enough of the goodies!!! Keep up the good work and maybe see a bf councillor if you get stuck! My sis's friend is training to be one so if you have any questions I'll put you in contact via fb maybe?

I've just got off the phone with my little sis, and she is definatly trying for baby number two, she's incredibly calm about it all but I'm so excited and keep calling her mid month when AF is due, hope I'm not going to stress her out...maybe I should back off a bit?

cricri · 24/03/2009 17:26

Fruity I'm impressed with the size of your post with Jack being less than a week old! I don't think I posted more than a couple of lines for a good few weeks. Glad you've been out and about. Sorry to hear about Jack's weight loss but Bella is right, as long as he's got plenty of wet nappies that is the main thing. Elise lost nearly 10% of her birth weight in the first five days and I must admit we did give her formula in the evenings because she was just sucking and sucking for hours on end and I felt empty and worried that she was starving. Fortunately it didn't affect my milk supply. Are you taking fenugreek? I found it really helped and I'm still taking it now. Also remember the amount you can express doesn't bear any relation to what Jack is getting as he's far more efficient than the pump. I tried pumping in the early days to boost my supply as well but didn't get much at all. 6 weeks later I was getting loads and now I get a good 4-5oz first thing in the morning from the breast Elise has just finished feeding from. Have a look on Kellymom here for loads of useful advice. It's been a godsend for me.
Georgie So pleased things are starting to come together with the build. Soon you'll be choosing paint colours and fixtures
Mollie Good luck for tonight Don't wear out your DH too much though Same goes for you too Ei
Scully Hope you had a restful day at home.
Lola Glad you feel OK. As the others have said, it's entirely normal. Grief comes and goes and doesn't respect anniversaries necessarily. Great that you treated yourself tto some new clothes - a bit of retail therapy always lifts the spirits.
I'm feeling better now, thanks for asking Sparkly but this cold is lingering. I haven't had one in over a year so I can't complain too much. Apparently there are some nasty viruses around atm.
Elise had her swimming lesson this pm and is really enjoying it. She moves her legs and occasionally her arms too so she's getting the hang of it. She's currently fast asleep in the sling as she's worn out after all that exercise!
My friend has given me a walker so we put her in that yesterday - she's had a door bouncer for a few weeks now and bless her, she was trying to bounce in the walker and just ended up going backwards! She wasn't bothered though, was happily smiling away.
Hello to everybody else

BellaHarry · 24/03/2009 18:42

CriCri aaaw bless little Elise, she sounds like a lot of fun!

SparklyPseudonym · 24/03/2009 20:29

Evening ladies,
Cricri Hope Elise sleeps well tonight too. I used to love swimming with Lara when she was small (and still do) especially in the summer months. Am glad you're feeling better.
Mollie I don't want to hear from you until Thursday afternoon when the egg has been and gone. Do not let DH go to work and be generous with the pre-seed .
Teehee What did you settle for instead of Bugaboo? I agree about the no bills things although I should try and pay off a bit of my credit card - na!!
Georgie Great progress is being made at last. Hope you're having a relaxing evening.
Fruity Don't worry about Jack losing weight...it's so common in the early weeks. My sister was constantly bullied about my nephews weight and was instructed to put him on formula/wean him early/see a specialist but because it was her 2nd she was confident enough to go on with breastfeeding and managed it for a year. You'd know if he was starving - he'd be crying a lot, not having wet nappies, be jaundice etc. And, it always takes longer for your milk to come in after a c-section. You're doing a great job.
Bella Are you going to book a 4d scan? I'd love one.

Well DP cooked scrambled eggs on toast for dinner and I had a tiny bit of smoked salmon because I couldn't remember if I was allowed it. Have given up caffine but can't remember any other guidelines - my diet has mainly consisted of toast so I've had no reason to find out until now.

teeheelaydee · 24/03/2009 22:08

Just a quickie from me as just got back from NCT and need to do DP a shopping list for tomorrow as am taking my mum to see Young Victoria and out for dinner for her Mother's Day treat so getting out of shopping.

Sparkly Don't you dare pay off your credit card bill. We went for the iCandy Cherry in Beige/Brown - I have to say I love it - dead easy to use and really light - seemed narrower than many others so easier to get through the door. Can't wait to get in downstairs. Also wanted to post you this link about food which I found really useful and dispelled alot of myths for me. Hope it works here

teeheelaydee · 24/03/2009 22:09

Try again Teehee www.eatwell.gov.uk/agesandstages/pregnancy/whenyrpregnant/

HerNameWasLola · 24/03/2009 22:15

Sparkly I think smoked salmon is fine, but I don't really like it so I haven't really bothered to find out. Sorry not to be more help! Btw existing almost solely on toast definitely counts as a symptom so you can add that to your list!

Oooo Bella! We'll have to start calling you Gypsy Rose Bella next! Hopefully Teehee and I should both find out if you're right in the next few weeks, but hopefully by very different methods! Have you been reading books to get your bf nappy knowledge, or is that something you knew about already? Am just wondering what I ought to be doing...

Fruity SO impressed by your mammoth post! And am very glad the others have had good weight loss tips for you - I knew they would . Sounds to me like you're doing great
Do you really want to know what I ordered from jjmmbb? Ok, here goes...
these are my delicious white jeans, this top and skirt for my friend's 30th, this top in beaujolais, this top which I think I'm going to return, although it's a nice top, this top in pink, and one the same in black with 3/4 length sleeves for work. Phew! Told you it was bad!

think had better go now as Lola has gone to sleep on my arm and one handed typing taking AGES! Full of admiration for those of you who have to do it all the time! ! Apologies to everyone I've missed, but doubtless I'll be back tomorrow! Night all, sweet dreams

HerNameWasLola · 24/03/2009 22:20

Good link teehee, but can someone please tell the skinny cow at the top of the page scoffing strawberries to FECK OFF, put some clothes on and stop showing off?? Thank you.

teeheelaydee · 25/03/2009 09:11

LOVE all the clothes Lola. IKWYM about the skinny bump woman - have noticed that loads of photos of pg women have their bumps on full display with a tiny vest covering half of it - Put it away woman!!

SparklyPseudonym · 25/03/2009 10:07

Morning ladies,
Lola Gorgeous clothes. I love the skirt and top for your friend's 30th. Can we have some bump pics soon?
Teehee I've not seen an icandy before so just went and googled - very nice. Thanks for the link too. Will check it out later.
I bet Mollie is walking like John Wayne today .

Have to take DD for her three year jabs today. Am sure she'll have a word or five to say to the doctor.

BellaHarry · 25/03/2009 14:02

Sparkly I think we will have a 4D scan as DH is really keen and felt very underwhlemed (his words) by the 2D scan last Monday! Our hospital does them to raise money for the ward so probably just do it there and help out the hospital.

Lola I actually got a lot of my info from the mn pages, take a look I thought they were fab!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/03/2009 15:42

OMG, where do I start. This thread is soooo busy at the moment. Ummmmm.....

Fruity Keep up the good work lovely lady. Cricri gives invaluable advice. I won't repeat it all. I've got a card and pressie sitting here waiting for a free moment to whizz it over to you. If you're around tom morning perhaps I can just literally slip by for 10 mins?

Lola Am very of your lovely clothes. LOVE the floral skirt. Might have to copy if that's ok. And agree with you completely, no more pg women with bra tops of flauntin' their bumps. Ugh.

Bella Don't think I've had a chance to say congrats on the 20 weeks scan . Grand news about LO being a girl!!! But of course I am biased!!!!

Scully How you feeling mate? Just wondering if you're starting to feel as big and hefty as I am? I was wondering the other day who'll pop first? We're getting near the top of the list now. But wouldn't it be funny if they were born on the same day, just half a world apart.

TeeHee I too am getting the sewing machine warmed up to make cushion covers and roman blinds for the house. Just have to make sure the fabric I choose has some straight lines of it otherwise we might end up with rather wonky blinds . Can't believe you're so close to popping. Ooooo, there's going to be another baby soon!

Sparkly You lucky lady winning all that lovely dosh. Maybe spend a bit paying off the credit card and def splash some on yourself. How's the MS? Any better or gradually getting worse?

Cricri Ah, the lovely Elise has a walker and a baby bouncer. My god, where did the time go?! How's the cold. Has it gone now? And love the image of her splashing around in the pool.

Mollie Am very at your shenanigans with DH . It's been 6 months for me and DH. Sigh. Hope they reap dividens this month.

Ei How's things going for you? Is DH still stading or have you shagged him senseless by now .

Piper How's the MS love? Still foul?

Everything fine at mw appt. Bit of a waste of time actually. But better safe than sorry. least I got some meds for my terrible acid reflux/projectile vomiting. Hopefully this will stop me looking like woman from Witches of Eastwick movie .

Poor DH is looking really lost being at home. Think he's contemplating getting job at Starbucks just to escape domestic hell!!!!

hey georgie I'd love for you to come over I'll be in waiting for the midwife who will hopefully come early so I'm not hanging around all day (they say 9am-5pm), so stop by whenever you can . Do you have my address?

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/03/2009 18:31

Great Fruity. I'll pop over 9.30ish if that's OK. Won't stay too long, but would love a cuddle with Jack. Can I bring you anything. I can pop into Sainsburys on my way over. Yep, got your address. xx

OP posts:
HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 25/03/2009 19:25

Lola I feel dreadful. I've completely glossed over all that you were saying about Thomas and getting past those awful milestones. Was it 20th April that's a big date for you? xx

OP posts:
HerNameWasLola · 26/03/2009 11:33

Morning

Georgie don't be daft I know where you are if/when I need you. Mind you, I wish I was coming to Fruity and Jack's House with you this morning ! 20th April is the date Thomas was born, 1st May was his funeral. We'll be in Turkey on 1st May, no bad thing probably! Not sure about 20th, think we'll just wait and see what feels right at the time.

Not having a great day so far, Nemo isn't well Long story short, we think he's got a pice/pieces of rubber ball stuck in his gut somewhere (stupid dog). He started being sick yesterday afternoon and has gone down hill pretty quickly since We were up with him at 3.30 this morning, we put him to sleep in our dressing room (yes, know how lucky we are to have a dressing room) cos it's just off the bedroom and has a wooden floor and he work us up at 3.30. I didn't go in but DH said he'd been sick (mainly water) pretty much everywhere Poor little sod just couldn't settle, obviously couldn't get comfortable. By 7am he wasn't even able to keep water down. I was meant to take them both to have their coats stripped for 8am, so I ended up leaving the house at 7.30 to drop Lola off, then was sat outside the vets with Nemo waiting for them to open by 8.20. I've left him there and they're going to do some x-rays which I really hope shed some light on things. Poor boy, he's never really been properly ill before, normally he just injures himself! But to see him so miserable in himself is heartbreaking. I left him in the car when I went in to speak to the receptionist, he HATES the vets at the best of times, and I had to try really hard to stop my voice breaking while I was explaining it all to her... don't think pg hormones and lack of sleep are helping much! So am waiting for them to call once they're done the x-rays, probably sometime around lunchtime apparently. Meanwhile, I need to mop the dressing room, hall, kitchen etc etc... Lola was very confused about why he wouldn't play with her this morning, he just went and sat in a flower bed! Poor boy...

I have a mw app this afternoon which I REALLY hope will bring a few moments of happiness on an otherwise grey day.... God that sounds melodramatic! Sorry

FruitynNutty · 26/03/2009 11:57

Aw Lola Poor Nemo I hope he recovers quickly. What will happen if he has rubber ball in his stomach? Will it eventually pass through? Give him a big cuddle from Fruity.
Enjoy your M/W appointment, it's lovely to hear the heart beating away
Oh BTW I adore the clothes you've chosen.
A little tip from me for all you preg ladies:
Buy a few loose enough tops (To cover baby belly) with buttons down the front which you can BF in. I have nothing and am desperate to get to the new New Look which has just opened around the corner to get something I can wear!

Georgie Lovely to see you and DD just now You look wonderful and blooming for someone who's having such a hard time of it Jack's still asleep in HIS OWN BED! I have to admit I did ignore his cries but they didn't last long. I know he's not hungry cos, well, you saw how long he was plugged onto me for!
It's hard isn't it. I don't want to make a rod for my own back but at the same time, he's just so tiny. How clever are they when they're 1st born? I'm convinced he's taking me for a ride I'm almost positive DS1 slept in the crib from day one without any fuss.

Sparkly How did DD cope with her jabs?

HerNameWasLola · 26/03/2009 12:19

Vet just called, they're not happy with the ultrasound and the x-rays so they're going to operate straight away... should know more by 2pm
