i had a ball last night i got very drunk it was marvellous!!!
xx ei xx

cricri · 22/03/2009 11:30

Mollie What a lovely gesture from your DH - very thoughtful, although I think I might have shed a tear in your position too. Huge congratulations on the promotion by the way, that is fantastic news! Can't quite work out why you didn't get it internally but did get it externally but having been a civil servant myself that sounds about right! No matter anyway, they recognised you were doing a fantastic job and that's the main thing. Well done you! Love your list and everybody's additions too. Can't remember if it's already been said but what about adding Pampering? Especially when you do get pg.
Fruity Love all the photos, Jack really is adorable So glad bf is going welll, although those early days of constant feeding are too fresh in my memory atm! Hope you're getting plenty of rest.
Georgie So pleased to hear about your DH's new job and best of all the fact that he has 3 months off to spend with you. Glad things are looking up for you after everything you've had to deal with.
Lola Welcome back It sounds as though you had a lovely break and that everything is going well. Feeling the first movements already, wow! Once you've got past the next couple of weeks then hopefully you'll be able to relax almost completely (I say almost because I think it's impossible to relax totally). Talk about Thomas as much as you want to, you're not bringing the thread down. Anniversaries are always difficult, especially the first one, and you're always going to think about him even though as you say yourself, you're not grieving in quite the same way now, which is normal.
Hope everybody else is OK today.
I can't believe it's my first mother's day Elise bought me a lovely card and pen so I'll have a special memento of the day. We went to MIL's for lunch yesterday and everybody made a huge fuss of her and we're going to my Mum's shortly for lunch so that will be nice too. Have a lovely day all

teeheelaydee · 22/03/2009 14:49

Gosh is it just that I am hormonal or are you girls determined to made me cry - Mollie your DH nearly managed it all on his own. Tell him from me I think he's a hero as Mother's Day is quite hard when you are trying in vain. So sweet of him. Lola You just about finished me off, I don't think you bought the thread down at all in fact (and I hope I'm not speaking out of turn) as I read your post I felt really positive, both that you are starting to get your head around your pg and that you are glad you waited. As you say it's good to be honest and it's healthy to think and talk of Thomas sometimes - that is exactly how it should be.

Fantastic news about the flutters - you were probably relaxed and not rushing around so much - that is when I first had mine. Holiday sounds blissful - good to have you back though.

Georgie Great news about your DH and am glad he took the plunge. I always think that if it takes another job offer to get your current employers to sit up and take notice then they weren't worth it in the first place. Great new start for you all - new house, new job, new baby - soo exciting.

Ei Hope you fun-filled weekend has cheered you up - loved the text thread - particularly people who texted their parents with saucy texts meant for their OH's.

Fruity Hope all going well with you and that you got double pressies today as you are a double Mummy now. Are the IL's driving you mad yet?

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mummies, especially Mibbes and Cricri as it is your first-hope Evan and Elise have got the hang of it quickly!

Friday night and yesterday had 24 hours of frequent Braxton Hicks so didn't sleep great and spent most of yesterday taking it easy - feel much better today and slept so well. Still reckon I felt better than Mollie though! Currently contemplating whether to cook roast chicken for later or have a Chinese - DP is voting for the chinese!!

HerNameWasLola · 22/03/2009 17:56

Teehee thanks for your lovely message After our fantastic roast chicken last night that definitely gets my vote, then you can have my favourite meal of all time, left-over roast on a monday! Yum!

Just thought I'd update the list, if I can find it, better do it quickly, with 24 hours of frequent braxton hicks it sounds like Georgie & Scully might be at the top sooner than they think!

Ei hope you're feeling ok today, the hangover's never quite such hard work when you had an absolute blast achieving it Though I get terrible memory loss so I can never be too sure...!

Cricri glad to hear you're having a lovely weekend, relax and enjoy my love, you deserve it!

Now. Where's that list....?

BellaHarry · 23/03/2009 06:33

Lola welcome back!

Mollie good luck this cycle x

Well I've been up since 5:30 am as I am too too excited about the scan! Lo better be bearing all for us as I'm not quite sure how I'll cope if we don't find out the sex!! It's been occupying my mind for months now! Lol gosh I am impatient!

Anyhow, Morning ladies! I'll be back with the verdict this afternoon! X

teeheelaydee · 23/03/2009 09:01

We caved and went for the chinese - so Roast Chicken today then! Thought I'd better update the list as well - Lola DP has done his own basic maths and reckons the 17th April will be D Day - I bloody hope not.

Scully Good to hear that all well at your latest appointment, there is nothing quite like the sound of that hb is there? Maybe I will celebrate Australian Mother's Day seeing as how I just missed out on this year!

Bella Good luck today, hope all goes well and you see a lovely waving baby!

Oh god I'm so hopeless. I cannot keep up with this thread now.
I'm just checking in to let you know I'm still alive! Jack's feeding constantly and I'm finding it impossible to get on the net Not that I'm complaining. Even with no sleep, I'm feeling surprisingly awake and normal
I'm just so desperate to go out in the sun and show him off to everyone.
I tried to venture out yesterday. DP drove us to Sainsburys/M&S. I got as far as the flowers in M&S and had to go back to the car. Probably a bit soon really but I'm getting serious cabin fever!

Gonna try and upload a few more pics in a bit, Promise to catch up soon
xx

BellaHarry · 23/03/2009 12:19

teehee thank you for you kind wishes. How does it feel being top of the list now! Lol

fruity don't over do it hun! Let DP wait on you!!

Well I had the scan and all is very well! Everything present and correct! Even the....labia! Gross way of announcing it but yes lo is a little girl!! Baby Imogen gave us quite a show wiggling about and allowed us a good snoop at her lady bits! We are so happy, and blessed that all is well! Can't wait to go in to work now and shout it from the rooftops! I shall put the pics up tonight on my profile! [Grin]

FruitynNutty · 23/03/2009 12:37

Excellent news Bella!

Please upload your scan pic on MN! I can't wait till Thursday to see your little baba

I've uploaded a load of pics on FB btw [proud mummy]

Molliemooma · 23/03/2009 14:37

Bella Congratulations it's a girl!! Look forward to seeing the pics later.
Fruity Talking of pics, how cute are the pictures of Jack on FB?? Very scrumptious!

I seemed to have gained a day on the list and EI has lost some (although EI correct me if I'm wrong!)

SparklyPseudonym · 23/03/2009 16:06

Afternoon ladies,

Symptoms are visiting today. Have been feeling quite sick and tired. Seems late for things to be starting - am 8+3 today but am not complaining. Have been working most of the day which has been helped by change in the weather. I heard it's supposed to snow at the weekend?!
Mollie How is your head today? Have you started the OPKs and the pre-seed ?
Bella Congrats! Am pleased everything is fine.
Fruity Jack is such a cutie and I'm gutted I'm not closer to meet up. Maybe I can make a visit at Easter to get my fix .
Teehee Shall we start a stake? I'm going for the 14th. Does you gut instinct tell you you're going to be late or early?
Scully Excellent news from your m/w appointment. I still need to book in with mine.
Cricri and Mibbes Hope you both enjoyed your first mother's day.
Lola What a beautiful post. Please continue to talk about Thomas - it doesn't bring the thread down at all. You're been on such a journey and it sounds as though you're starting to find your way. Can we all light a candle for Thomas on 20th April? We all know how difficult anniversaries are and we're here for you whenever you need us. xxx

AND I almost forgot to say. As it was Mother's Day yday, me and my sister decided to take my hermit mother to bingo. We managed to pocket £2100 so I'm now £700 richer...do I put it towards a new Bugaboo or spend it on myself .

SparklyPseudonym · 23/03/2009 16:07

Oh and Lola - you're going to have to hang on a few days after your EDD to make sure you're LO is the oldest in the year at school .

teeheelaydee · 23/03/2009 16:20

£700 - OMG that's amazing - what a great Mother's day. You lucky thing Sparkly - Great that the symptoms are kicking in - I think 8 weeks is fairly common for them to start - of course you know that as soon as they ease you will have a freak out!

My gut instinct is saying a little bit early - mainly cos of the Braxtons so I don't really know - I am guessing the 8th.

Just checked out Jack's gorgeous pictures on FB - he is just lovely and looks content in nearly all of them! Good news that your doing lots of feeding Fruity as you were worried you wouldn't have enough - doesn't sound like that's going to be an issue!

Great news about your scan Bella glad to hear that everything was well - that's it now next time you see your little girl she will be here!

I have to to say Mollie I can't believe you are at that time of the month again - already - hope DH has been getting some early nights.

Decided I would finally make a patchwork cushion for the chair in the nursery today - y'know just run it up before lunch - it has taken me all damn day!!! Looks good though but you'd never guess it took so long - doesn't look that good! Might stick dinner in oven then have a sleep - I am knackered zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

SparklyPseudonym · 23/03/2009 16:34

Can you send some dinner here teehee and also post a pic of your cushion. I wish I could sew.

Molliemooma · 23/03/2009 16:36

Lola Grovelling apologies as I only quickly posted earlier and forgot you Goodness knows how How many times young lady have you told me off for not posting about things?? So don't you dare think you are pulling down the thread, as everyone else has said, its important that we acknowledge anniversaries and special dates, so you feel free to post or text whatever you want, I only hope I can be as supportive as you always are
So one huge hurdle coming up for you, we will all hold your hands (might be a little purple from the squeezing ) so keep on posting x
Sparkly Symptoms, hurray! Just what you wanted Good win yesterday, I think you should spend it on yourself But only when you have finished all your words!!
TeeHee I am starting to get very excited for you!! Your DH does know he has to text as soon as you go into labour, when the LO is born and send a pic now doesn't he??

Big waves to everyone else

Lovely photos Bella and glad the scan went well. I remember when we found out Elise was a girl - it suddenly made it very real!
Fruity You were brave venturing out with Jack, I don't think I went anywhere for the first couple of weeks because of the constant feeding! Love all the photos on FB - Jack really is adorable. Hope all is going well.
Scully Glad your mw appt went well and you heard the hb. Has the weather cooled down a bit yet?
Sparkly Glad the symptoms have appeared as I know you'll find them reassuring, although hope the ms doesn't get too severe. What an amazing story about your bingo win! Fantastic. Spend it on yourself!
Teehee Hope you enjoyed your sleep - make the most of it whilst you can
All ok here, I had a lovely mother's day yesterday at my mum's and the meal was yummy.
I don't know where today has gone though - the hours just seem to fly by these days!

HappyandEiknowit · 23/03/2009 20:10

hey ladies
bella congrats hun!! told you you were having a girl!!
sparkly gald to hear the symptoms are kicking in
fruity jack is gorgeous!! he looks alot like C glad to hear feeding is going well
mollie yep my days were a bit out i noticed just before i read your post great minds eh!! hope you arent wearing yourself (or your DH) out too much
hello to everyone else
nowt happening here but me and DH have an agreement this cycle that sex sex and more sex is the way to go so due to the fact that i have to have a HSG next cycle if nowt this then i will be making a concerted effort to avoid that at all costs
xx ei xx

BellaHarry · 23/03/2009 21:13

Ei thanks hun, yeah it's funny how people know these things, I've never been wrong at guessing the gender yet! oh dear all this sex!

Gosh Teehee sewing a cushion! lovely job hun, I love that idea!

Sparkly hope the pg symptoms are nothing but reassuring for you that all is well!

Fruity those pictures on fb are adorable!!! I'm really looking forward to my cuddle with the little man! Enjoy the bf; it must be so amazing! (tireing too I'm sure?)

Lola hope your feeling ok? So lovely that you're feeling lo move! x

Hello to everyone else!

scully · 24/03/2009 00:38

Love the pics you put on FB Fruity, Jack is gorgeous Still one of my favoured names too, only thing putting me off is how popular it is here. I remember venturing out to Sainsburys 5 days after dd1's c/s and almost passing out, I had to go sit down with a sugary drink whilst dh finished the shopping. Understand your cabin fever, but don't venture far on your own yet, you have had major surgery. Great that he is feeding well too.
So if we don't here much from you Ei, we know why
Congrats on the having a girl Bella, how exciting I am very curious to know what we are having but am happy to wait for the birth. I need the incentive to get through labour
Great bingo win Sparkly, I wouldn't spend it all on a pram, definitely some on yourself too Symptons are good too, hopefully they are giving you some more reassurance.
Wish I could sew Teehee, I should take lessons, but then again currently have no-where to leave the sewing machine etc, excuses, excuses
Having a quiet day at home today, done my housework, just need to organise dinner for tonight and tomorrow night. Can't see either meal being too gourmet

HerNameWasLola · 24/03/2009 10:47

Morning my lovelies What gorgeous and unexpected sunshine

Am doing ok today, better than expected which I was actually feeling quite guilty about, but then I decided sod it, we all spend enough time feeling shit don't we? So have decided to go with it

Bella congrats on the great scan - you got what you wanted! You seem to be having a charmed pg you lucky girl Hope you're not using all your good luck up now and leaving none for the birth! Am sure you'll be fine.
Very impressed by your 100% record guessing the sex btw, I have a 100% record too, I ALWAYS get it wrong The only person I've got right so far was me, last time! So come on then, what are Teehee Scully & me having?????

Sparkly £700!!! I'd better get me down to the bingo hall quick smart! Have fun deciding what to do with it - if you're like me though you'll end up spending it several times over iykwim! Good luck!

Speaking of spending money I haven't got... I put in an obscene order to JJMMBB on saturday (courtesy of Mr Credit Card)... which arrived today! Yippeee!! Very naughty I know, just sick of feeling like a heffalump. Fruity & Bella have seen me, they know what I'm talking about! Got some GORGEOUS white jeans which actually almost make me feel like me again, if that makes sense. Lots of yummy things. Need to work out which bits to keep. Love it!

Teehee am very impressed by your domesticity, sounds dangerously like nesting to me 8th April was it...?!?

Sparkly glad to hear the symptoms have arrived on cue (iykwim) Wouln't worry about them being late, sounds fine to me. Both times I have found ms peaked at 9-10 weeks, so maybe that's why it's kicked in now, I think that's when the levels of everythign are at their highest before the placenta takes over. When's your next scan? 5 days since your last one, you're probably about ready for another look now aren't you?

Ei would you like me to arrange for a delivery of lucozade for you and your DH? Sounds like you might need it!

No sign of Georgie again? Has she disappeared on us? Naughty girl! Must be at the spa. Or maybe shopping. Hope you're having fun MissGeorgie, whichever it is!

Aaaarrgghhh! Just realised the time! Meant to have taken DH's car to the garage HOURS ago.... back later, sorry no time to check spelling etc before posting

SparklyPseudonym · 24/03/2009 11:32

Lola Don't feel guilty for being brighter. Changes in your life do not mean that you'll forget Thomas in any way. He'll always be a part of you. Just make sure you talk when you need to so that we can offer as much support as you require. I was actually thinking of booking a scan for 10 weeks but can't convince DP. Maybe I'll put the £700 into a secret scan fund?!
Scully Am actually thinking of venturing into town - anything to get away from work!
Bella Your scan pics are lovely.
Ei Your lucky DH!! Lots and lots of babydust to you.
Cricri Are you feeling any better this week?
Mollie I think you should do some work for me instead of enjoying the sunshine. I bet you know loads of equality and diversity!!

Hmm so now it's time for slapped wrists. I STILL haven't booked in with the MW. I feel like it's tempting fate but know I have to do it to get a scan....

BellaHarry · 24/03/2009 12:42

Lola well I have to meet the person first but I'm saying you're having a girl. I bloody hope I haven't used up all my luck for the birth lol!

Scully well done you for being so patient! x

Sparkly Thank you, I keep staring at the pics! DH wants a 4d scan now as he thinks 18 weeks is too long 'til we see her! aaw bless.
