Fruity I'm so excited on your behalf...5 days! Oh my...I can't wait to meet llittle Jack!

Mollie I'm so sorry your having such a rotten time; not sure how much help it is but someone once told me that when you hit the bottom you have to remember that the only way is up from there! I'm sure it won't be long before things are on an 'up' for you too! x

Ei lol at the spunky teddies..what a gross thread this has become!

Hiya to everyone else...it's officially the weekend!!! Next week I'll start the countdown to my scan..(23rd)is it a boy or a girl what do you reckon??? (see bump pics on my profile page)

FruitynNutty · 13/03/2009 16:48

Bella So far it's a boy as you have only a belly bump. Girls turn you into a giant roly poly But, for some reason I can't imagine you with a boy, a girl yes.
Go on, have a girl so I can buy something pink for a change! Please?

HappyandEiknowit · 13/03/2009 16:52

bella i would say girl i didnt put a single lb on that wasnt baby with DD atch i lost a stone and a half you look all front so i reckon girl!!
xx ei xx

FruitynNutty · 13/03/2009 17:01

Must be a London/southern thing then. Here, if you're all front then you're having a boy and if you're round all over then it's a girl
Basically, if you don't look at all pregnant from behind and still have a waist then boy

HappyandEiknowit · 13/03/2009 17:06

lol i was told all the way through wen having DD that i was having a boy cos i was all front/carrying high/carrying low/ had heartburn etc noone even guessed it was a girl lol
i would go with whatever the gut instinct is and its the other one
bella what do you think you are having??? i would bet its the other one
xx ei xx

FruitynNutty · 13/03/2009 17:26

Even so, I think she's having a girl So bump size/shape means nowt

FruitynNutty · 13/03/2009 17:28

I just knew deep down I was having a boy (so definitely go with instinct) but I was convincing myself otherwise - even bought the cutest pair of tights from Baby Gap - which will get used btw!

BellaHarry · 13/03/2009 17:38

..well i have always thought it's a girl, I've even started calling it Imogen too!

teeheelaydee · 13/03/2009 20:09

Mollie Mollie Mollie So sorry about the job and how it has knocked you for six. It is things like that which show you are maybe not as over things as you (not you but one - well and you!) thinks. You are not useless and are just struggling against 'the man'! They should give you the job. I hate to bang on about it but it was problems at work that finally did for me as I wasn't performing as well as I had in the past (still OK mind you) I just felt that everything was shit and I couldn't get anything right! I know it's different for everyone but you will get through this and will have ups and downs on the way. I wish I could make it all better for you but you know where I am if you need me - am around for MSN chats too, text me if you want to chat....oh and BTW crying is OK - just drink lots of water or you will dehydrate!! xxx

Ei Step away from the Google lady! Mind you wouldn't it be odd if we lost a pg lady on Weds and gained another one on Thurs!! No Teehee stop encouraging madness!

Bella 'fraid I don't believe in any of that up front/all the way round stuff (I'm really a grumpy old woman in disguise) so I will simply predict that it is a beautiful baby (or maybe a puppy )

Lola Have a fantastic time- lots of r&r. I remember the pictures and it looked fabulous.

Fruity Olives yum! Has never really thought about the star sign thing but you're right you'll never know when Jack was going to come out of his own accord so you'll never know what star sign he would've been if it had been left to the stars!

teeheelaydee · 13/03/2009 20:10

Oh bugger what happen to my bold Mollies

BellaHarry · 13/03/2009 20:18

if you put more than one word in the *'s it doesn't work I keep doing that!

HappyandEiknowit · 13/03/2009 21:47

mollie i must have missed you completely there!! so sorry you are having such a sh&t time recently {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} im around if you need to talk/cry/moan etc jus drop me a text or ring me xxx

DP has taken DS to gymnastics so I'm having an hour or two off Then he's gonna come home and cook me brekkie - I hope! I did cook dinner last night after all.

Going to go and check out blankies at John Lewis this afternoon.......
Have a nice Saturday everyone

BellaHarry · 14/03/2009 12:13

I'm off to Mothercare in a bit to buy this what do you reckon? I spend hapf my evening feeling for movements...I might as well hear them too eh? Have a good eekend everyone xxx

FruitynNutty · 14/03/2009 12:16

Madness Bella seriously. It will drive you mad when you can't find the heartbeat. Up to you though, don't say I didn't warn you!
Surely you get to hear heartbeat at your ante-natal appointments?
Waste of money IMHO - sorry!

Molliemooma · 14/03/2009 13:32

Fruity Thanks for asking after me, feeling a little less raw today, but still feel like a useless lump But did some retail therapy which always helps
Bella I agree with Fruity step away from mothercare monitor right now!
EI Sounds like things are sounding hopeful for you [smile[]
TeeHee Thanks for last night much appreciated
Sparkly How are you doing today?
Lola Hope you are having a wonderful time away

Hello to everyone else

teeheelaydee · 14/03/2009 15:12

Where are Scully and Georgie and come to think of it it's been a while since we've heard from our Mummies.

I think I've overdone things this morning as DP and I were clearing out under our bed (the dust was scary) about half way through got some pretty breath taking pains in my lower right side - guess they could be braxtons - don't think it's the real thing has very irregular and seem to ease when I put my feet up! Bit scary though.

Glad you're feeling a bit better today Mollie what have you been buying? Next time I go to the library I am going to see if I can find a couple of the books I got that might be helpful for you - they will make you cry but in a good way.

Sparkly Hope all is well with you now - no more scares?

Bella Agree with the others - could be less reassuring rather than more and think what cute baby stuff you could buy with £25

Fruity Hope the last big shop goes well - let me know what you end up with in terms of a blankie. Sounds like DP is on best behaviour which sounds promising!

BellaHarry · 14/03/2009 18:13

Too late ladies I know I'm being silly, but it's not the heart beat I'm listening for I know it's unlikely to be found with this thing anyway, it is lovely lying feeling and listening to lo's kicks, me and DH just had a bonding sesh with it, was lovely didn't hear heart beat but like I said I wasn't trying to (if I can stay like this it's cool yeah?) Consider my wrist slapped! I'm like an impatient child at christmas; always squeezing my presents!

FruitynNutty · 14/03/2009 18:27

Ooh Teehee take it easy!
I ended up going to Mothercare as John Lewis had such a crap selection. I bought one of these cellular blankets with the satiny edge
Only £5.99 and easily replaceable. I was very tempted by the Taggies in JL but decided I couldn't justify the price tag!
I also got 2 boxes of Tommee Tippee bottles They are BPA free. They come in boxes of 4 and are reduced from £13.99 to £9.99 in Mothercare right now. The steriliser is also reduced if you need one. I've dug out my old steriliser and have just cleaned it out.
I wasn't going to buy any bottles but I'm desperate to be able to express so I'm not the only one feeding!

I also bought some new slip on shoes from River Island. You know, the ones which go all curled up when you're not wearing them? I've had some since last summer and have worn them to pieces - they are so unbelievably comfy!

I spent far too much money DS got a couple of little bits too - only a 99p dinosaur and a weird squishy worm thing that lights up for about 4 quid - he has cheap taste!

Can't believe we're coming to the end of another day already! DS will be in bed in an hour

cricri · 14/03/2009 18:47

I'm still here, just having trouble finding some uninterrupted time to post atm, although I am managing to read the thread.
Lola Hope you're having a good break and so pleased the scan went well. Lovely picture btw
Fruity Only 4 more sleeps to go It must be so weird in a way knowing when you're going to meet your baby. I remember feeling slightly envious of ladies on my AN thread who were booked in for elcs for that reason. I hope somebody will post your news on here as soon as possible! Hope DP cooked you a lovely lunch.
TeeHee Sounds as though you've overdone it a bit today - sit down and put your feet up! Sounds as though you're nesting so not long to go now Have you finished your NCT classes?
Mollie So sorry to hear about you not getting the job especially on top of everything else I don't know if you believe in things happening for a reason, but sometimes when we suffer repeated knockbacks it's as though something is telling us that we need to change our path. You may not be able to see it now, but perhaps a change of direction is on the horizon for you career-wise. It sounds as though your job is quite stressful which probably isn't helping with ttc either. But you are not useless, please don't ever think like that. Glad the retail therapy helped anyway - what did you buy??
Sparkly How are you? Hope you haven't had any more bleeding.
Bella Sounds as though you're enjoying your new toy As long as you're aware of its limitations then that's fine. I agree with the bump shape being total rubbish - mine was all out in front, I didn't look pg from behind at all and I had a girl!
Georgie Where are you? Hope you've recovered from the various lurgies!
No sign of scully either
Hello to Mibbes, Ei, Piper and Emmsy
All is well here, apart from I'm coming down with something. I thought I'd managed to stave off a cold which started to come out on Thursday but I woke up this morning with a really sore throat and feeling a bit rubbish. I can't take anything apart from paracetamol because of bf either. I just hope Elise doesn't get it. She's very well and changing almost daily, it's lovely to see. We bought her a door bouncer and she loves being in that and is very interested in everything generally.

FruitynNutty · 14/03/2009 20:17

Hi cricri So lovely to hear from you. I imagine time is very tight at the moment. I hope your cold doesn't last long or get too bad. Can you take echinacea? I know they say it's rubbish but I find it really helps if I take it at the very beginning of a cold. Mind you, I don't think you can take it whilst preg so you probably can't take it whilst BFing either
Hopefully Elise won't pick it up.

Well I've just built Ds's old wooden crib. I didn't think I'd manage without instructions but it's up and bloody huge!!! I didn't realise how big it was When we had it up last it was in my bedroom at my Mum's which was a lot bigger then our bedroom now - oops!
Never mind, it just about fits
I've even put together the carry cot that goes on the pram - I'm Miss Organised today

Now, What shall I have for my dinner? DP's out so it looks like beans on toast!
BTW DP made a gorgeous brekkie, he made american style fluffy pancakes with crispy bacon and lots of golden syrup - far too delicious. I won't be able to have food like that from next week as the healthy eating regime starts!

Morning ladies,
Nothing much to report here. Head is still buried in the sand and am trying not to think of anything until scan on Friday (5 more sleeps..)
Fruity You're such a handy woman . I'm hopeless at putting things together. Are you all ready now then? Good luck with the diet - don't put too much pressure on yourself though, particulary with b/f...
Cricri Was thinking of you on Friday when I took Lara to kidney specialist. Any news on whether they will continue to monitor Elise? No more spotting here (yet). Hope you're feeling better today.
Bella I had one of those things and I gave it away by the time I was 20 weeks. They only thing I ever really heard was my tummy rumbling. Hope you have more success than us.
Teehee Sounds like a typical nesting session to me. Relax lady.
Mollie Thinking about you lots and lots together. I might even hope for a win for you today to cheer you up - .

Hello to everyone else

BellaHarry · 15/03/2009 09:29
