What do you think?

teeheelaydee · 09/03/2009 20:20

OK - are you ready for this - I'm going to try a link! We saw this company I think at an independent shop that we got our pram from. Bit cheaper than the ones you're looking at.

did it work?

teeheelaydee · 09/03/2009 20:23

Yey Babies R us blankets here

FruitynNutty · 09/03/2009 20:25

well done! Yes they are very cute! I'm looking for something under a tenner though, top marks for the link though!

FruitynNutty · 09/03/2009 20:27

Really like the look of those babies r us ones. And under a tenner - just!

SparklyPseudonym · 09/03/2009 20:37

Fruity Have you looked at taggies? My DD still won't give her two up.

FruitynNutty · 09/03/2009 20:47

That's what I was originally looking at but they are expensive. DS's fleecy blankets are about a fiver! So I can replace easily and cheaply when they go missing.

BellaHarry · 09/03/2009 20:58

Teehee and Fruity thanks for your advice, wow couldn't be more different. As you say Teehee my job does involve me being 'on' all the time, and also being an assistant head of year I have a lot of extra responsibilities that involve me running from one end of the school to the other. But saying that summer term is slightly lighter, given that exams are either on or over so lots of invigilation; not that that is what i'd want to do; stand in a hot hall for hours at a time whilst 9 months pg....hmmmm

I also thought I could have 9 months (to a year; although to get this much most is unpaid) but when I spoke to the hr lady she said 6 months, I wonder where I find this out? Because that would of course make my decision easier!

teeheelaydee · 09/03/2009 21:01

They do have noukies for £10ish on Babyland website - they do say from 5 momths though. Don't know what their p+p is but I could go and get one for you if you did want.

Are you meaning to tell me your DS is walking round with an imposter blankie - don't ever tell him - could scar him for life!

teeheelaydee · 09/03/2009 21:03

Bella DP usually finds out stuff like this on a gvt website I think - he is downstairs or I'd ask him. If you googled info for teachers I'm sure you'd find - or your union?

HerNameWasLola · 09/03/2009 21:42

Hello ladies

Scan was great, consultant still very positive. Next one is at 19 weeks on DH's birthday Couldn't tell the sex today, LO was being shy, kept crossing his/her legs! But def hope to find out next time, will be a great birthday present for DH if I'm wrong and it's a boy

Got some great 4D photos, DH is currently loading them on to the 'puter, so will post some on my profile once he's done it

Next milestone is mw app on 26th March when I'll hopefully hear the hb again Should hopefully get there in one leap this time, we're going to Devon for a week this friday so when we get back it will be less than a week til the appointment then only another 11 days til the next scan

me me me me me me me me me me sorry!

Bella not sure what to say about work, I certainly wouldn't feel able to plan to work full time til a week before my due date, I don't think it would be fair on my clients apart from anything else, if I had to abandon a case half way through a trial I'd feel dreadful, and the fear of that happening would probably send me into premature labour anyway I also had (what I think was) some really good advice about it being a really bad idea to be totally exhausted before even going into labour, doesn't exactly give you the ideal start to motherhood - if it can be avoided. I think you're considered to be at term by the docs from 37 weeks? Maybe that would be the time to stop? Will your school have an opinion on what they'd like?

Teehee sorry for the absence We had a yummy tea, though I think Bella thought I'd eaten too much cake already and that was what she was saying before we shared a changing room in JJMMBB! Only thing I bought was a bikini (terrifying thought!) in the sale. I saw a pg lady wearing it last summer and thought she looked great, so hopefully I won't look too scary in it - plus it was less than 1/2 price

Fruity 9 more sleeps!!! Make sure you make every one of them count, that'll be it for you for the next 18 years or so Twas lovely to meet Charlie on Saturday btw, such a lovely little boy

Sparkly so glad you're doing ok this week. Really hope it goes as quickly as possible for you. One step at a time lovely lady

DH has just told me he's emailed me the pics... will go and see what I can find for you all

BTW Lola's going in for the girly equivalent of the snip tomorrow know it's the right thing to do, but feel dreadful for her Am currently on the sofa & she's laid across my chest - poor little girl has no idea what awaits her... Probably just as well!

Back in a min...

teeheelaydee · 09/03/2009 22:01

Just thought I would check in to see any news of Lola's scan and all good news - Imagine by the time you have your next appt we will have had another baby - focus on that (yes fruity I know it's you and not we but hey!

Of all the things I thought you might buy a bikini was not even on the list!! You strange woman!

Absolutely agree about not wanting to go into labour knackered- what to do everything I can to be prepared!

HerNameWasLola · 09/03/2009 22:01

Think I've uploaded one...

You can see both the baby's hands but the thing down the side of the photo is apparently the wall of my uterus, not an enormous hand as my sister thought!

Knackered now. Will hopefully come and catch up with everyone else tomorrow. Love to all, xx

HerNameWasLola · 09/03/2009 22:04

You still here Teehee? do you like my pic?

Ah. The bikini. Does this mean I haven't told you we're off to Turkey for 10 days (11 nights ) on 25th april?

BellaHarry · 09/03/2009 22:23

Just checked in to see how Lola got on at the scan and yey!! Great news, shame lo was being prudish, bless. Really glad it all went well for you both/3! Off to check out the picies now! woo hoo! p.s at cake comment x

Teehee you are entirely correct I am entitle to 39 weeks paid!!! Stupid hr lady was wrong and now has me looking like I'm going back on my word if I now say I want to come back later..oh well doubt the head will mind; he has someone on a year contract covering me anyway so I save him money that way!

By the way teehee, Sparkly and fruity I have just had such a giggle at your 'blankie' tenis match! Great reading..I had no idea how important it is! Good job mum has bought lo a yellow tiger one already! Sorry can't find a link for that one lol!

teeheelaydee · 10/03/2009 07:52

OMG - look at that gorgeous scan - It is so clear plus I cannot believe you are 15+9. That is amazing! You cannot go away on the 25th April- I forbid it - I may need you for regular baby related freak outs - I tell you mibbes & Cricri best not be going anywhere! In fact no-one I know should be allowed to leave the country for the whole of April!

Bella I was really just showing off my new found skill to do links! Glad you've checked out your ML - might give you an extra week or two at the beginning and some more at the end - never believe HR in my experience!

Treated myself to a gorgeous box of new mum goodies from Neal's Yard yesterday. Just opening the bottles is relaxing.

FruitynNutty · 10/03/2009 08:56

Aw Lola!!!! What a delicious little bundle you have in there! So did they have to scan your butt? So pleased everything going well

Well, re Bella's maternity leave, I'm obviously in the minority! Well, what can I say, I'm just hard core I've probably been very lucky and had very smooth pregnancies so can easily work until I drop, even with all these kiddies and practically running around Colliers Wood from playgroup to playgroup to school
Bella if you are able to take off 9 months then go for it! I'm very

SparklyPseudonym · 10/03/2009 09:42

Lola I can't believe how clear your scan pics are. It's so exciting - you've got a real baby in there!! Am over the moon for you! Poor little Lola today. She will be fine though. Was hoping she was going to have a little litter so I could coo some more.
Teehee Your pregnancy seems to have flown by - does it feel the same for you? Are you due over Easter? Does that mean DP will have 4 weeks off (2 for easter and 2 paternity?)
Fruity Have you decided on a blankie yet? Only 11 sleeps now? Or is it 10?
Bella I'm not very good at offering advice on maternity leave. I finished worked at 29 weeks because DP was on summer hols and I wanted to be off too. I then stayed off until the following Sept so had over a year off.

Nothing to report here. Had 2 ginger biscuits for breccie today - not sure why but felt like them. Boobs are sore so hoping that's a good sign. 10 more sleeps yawn. Still working on DP for private scan before NHS one but he wants to wait until 8-12 weeks so we see more - he's hopeful!!

Emmsy1 · 10/03/2009 10:22

just popping in to say hello, still haven't heard when scan will be, but not as worried any more, have decided that fear and the unknown can freak you out even more than the actual problem. Will just face what ever the result is when I know what it is, Life is too short to spend it worrying and am far too busy to waste any more time!

All the children are doing really well, Amy is a dream and she usually sleeps from 8.30pm until 6.00am (this morning she woke a little ealier at 5.00am, but not too bothered about it as I am usually up at 6.00 am)
Try not to worry about the size of the yolk & sac at this stage sparkly its far too early, chill out and enjoy, things will even out, you will see! XXX

SparklyPseudonym · 10/03/2009 15:29

Emmsy Lovely to 'see' you and so glad to read you're not allowing yourself to worry - I'm trying to do the same. Glad your gang are doing well-amazing sleeping from Amy!! Am hoping things do even out but we'll see. xx

HerNameWasLola · 10/03/2009 16:55

Afternoon lovely ladies

Thank you for all the lovely comments on our scan photo - long may the good news continue for all of us!

Am totally shattered today for no real reason... Realy ought to walk Nemo before we pick Lola up, know DH thinks I'm a lazy arse, but I'm sooooooo tired... Maybe we could lie?!?!? Poor Nemo...

Emmsy sounds like a good attitude to me Glad you're ok.

Sparkly hello lovely lady, you sound so much better than this time last week How about calling the hospital and aying you're thinking about going away for a few days so could they bring the scan forward a day or two?? Don't know though, the last thing you want is more uncertainty caused by going back too soon... Still have everything crossed for you, symptoms sound good.

Mollie & Georgie you may be out of sight but you're not out of mind Sending lots of love to you both. You too Ei. Ei I don't think I ever said anything about your consultant's app. at having to pay for Clomid! Never ocurred to me that they'd say that!Fingers crossed you won't need it anyway, EWCM sounds promising. at confusing DH, well within your rights I'd say! Hope you're both doing ok xx

Teehee does that mean you want to come to Turkey with us? Don't worry, having been there before I know we get mobile reception there Am loving the fact that it's so nearly time for our next 2 babies! Do you have any instincts re whether it's a pink one or a blue one? Your sonographer never did phone me to let me know... Neal's Yard... mmmmmm..... I bought the clarins stretch mark oil a week or so ago, delicious! (but effing expensive...)

Fruity was waiting for the consulant to tell me to turn over, but turns out the baby is at the front, think it's just all the cake at the back.. You feeling ready to go yet? How has DP reacted to knowing the date he's going to be a father for the second time?

Check me out for positive thinking, have now booked for antenatal Yoga and antenatal classes. Am looking into hypnobirthing as well, but so far the classes I've found are £295 for 5 sessions!!

Will update the list in a sec...

FruitynNutty · 10/03/2009 16:57

OMG I'm aching soooo much. My hips and back are really uncomfortable. I think it might have been the walk up to the hospital and back this morning that did it. It's obviously starting to take it's toll. It's just so much easier with all the children if I can just push them there in the pushchair rather than trying to load them in the car and lift the pram into the boot then finding change for parking when it only takes 20 minutes to walk.

Only one more appointment before eviction day.

Sparkly no I can't decide on a blankie yet. Might go to Mothercare at the weekend and have a look.
Great news your boobs are still sore Ginger biccies are a good sign too.

Emmsy nice to see you again You're very lucky to have such a good sleeper! Tell the truth now, it's Medised isn't it

Crossed posts Lola
DP thinks it's great we have a date. He always wanted me to have a "drive-through" baby this time so he got his way in the end

Good for you for booking those classes!

teeheelaydee · 10/03/2009 17:32

Fruity Couldn't help looking for blankies today - saw some in John Lewis for £6.95, they are like non stuffed toys and are all velvety. Take it easy now won't you - all this walking about - be careful!

Sparkly You probably fancied the biscuits as a little nauseous maybe? All sounding pretty good so far. Sometimes it feels as if pg has gone dead quick but then it seems a lifetime ago that I was 5 weeks (all I have left). DP was away and it was the summer holidays - I am due on Easter Saturday so depending on when Sticky arrives he might take some of his paternity leave later - his boss says he can and he's taking Year 6 to France at the beginning of July so I may want him to take a few days when he gets back!

Lola Three cheers for your positive attitude - you will love the yoga - I did. Yes I think I will come to Turkey thanks - Do you think I could express enough milk for 2 weeks and leave DP with the LO?!

Emmsy Also impressed with your positive attitude, you're right there isn't much else you can do but wait for the scan. Amy sounds like a joy which must help take your mind of it.

Must go DP has just phoned he is walking home as has a bike puncture and wants some company on the phone - can't even pick him up as we currently have a courtesy car which is like a matchbox car - teeny tiny!
