fruity that's cool, just say when x x x

scully · 03/03/2009 00:27

I could do with a coffee or something stronger at Clapham Junction
Will just have to put up with another day over 30deg here Can you tell I'm over summer yet, it's March fgs, cool down now!
dh hasn't helped my mood this morning, has a go at me because there is nothing for lunch. There's bread, salad stuff, tuna, vegemite etc, but because there's no cold meat, it's the end of the world & there is no cold meat because I am sick of throwing it out uneaten so I haven't been buying as much of it. Always has a go at me for being defensive, but whenever we have a discussion about anything, he comes out with, 'oh, I love how this has turned around to being my fault', just because I don't agree with him. Talk about defensive, stupid men, really.........
I'm not impressed, can you tell........
Shall post a less 'me' message later

scully · 03/03/2009 10:57

Ok, feeling better now. Can't say at 8.55pm that it's much cooler, but at least my temper is Sorted things out with dh, so we'll see how the rest of the week pans out.
How was the scan Fruity, is it a mini or a jumbo fruity junior?
Teehee, Mibbes put it well, don't worry about the birth so much, it's over in 24hrs (hopefully), even if things don't always happen as you plan. And once you're home, it's not always easy but you soon find out what works best for you and baby. Just don't put any supermum expectations on yourself and you'll be fine.
Am contemplating some ice cream but it may be a bit late to eat........tempting though.
Hi to everyone else, sorry can't remember any other news, & too tired to go back and re-read. I'm off to bed.........

piper84 · 03/03/2009 12:51

hi ladies

Ei well done on the weight loss

Fruity hope baby gets himself all snug in the right position for you

Scully sorry your dh was being such a plank! men!

lola hope your feeling better

Sparkly not to long to go to scan

Mibbes Big waves!!!!

Sorry to anybody i missed

Had my doc appointment yesterday and all my anti-natal bloods taken. Waiting for a scan appointment from the hospital now [impatientemoticon] which apparently could be 12 weeks to 15 weeks for the first scan as they are very busy!

SparklyPseudonym · 03/03/2009 13:32

Piper Really hope that you don't have to wait until 15 weeks - that would suck!!
Scully Bloody men!! If he wants cold meat he can go out and find it himself .
Lola Do not panic. As Fruity said, there is lots going around at the moment. I had a dogy tummy last week - remember? Rest and look after yourself. Not long until Monday.
Fruity Oh, Yarnie...I remember her. She must be about to drop. Wonder why she left us...
Mollie How ru lovely lady? How is the 2ww treating you? Keeping everything crossed for you.
Ei Good luck for tomorrow.

Have been working again this morning but too bored to do anymore. Boobs aren't as sore today so am poking them every few mins..it's all a head f*ck. xx

FruitynNutty · 03/03/2009 14:08

right, so baby isn't that big. Weighs approx 7lbs 1oz just now.
Probably will be roughly 9 - 9 and a half lbs by 40 weeks so a little smaller than DS.

Big problem is, he's flippin breech! - head up. So he's either got really bad wind or he hiccups out of his arse

I'm typing this really uncomfortably on all fours and waving my big buttonga in the air.
The hospital want me to have an ECV which I've heard is excruciatingly painful or at least very uncomfortable. It's either I have an elective c-section. Great! What a fab choice I have!
So, I'm looking into natural ways to turn this baby, hence the position. I need to go down the hocus pocus route. Looking into reflexology an moxi sticks right now.......

Great to see you Piper! Hope you don't have to wait too long for your scan!

FruitynNutty · 03/03/2009 14:19

That's weird, some of my words are missing. Should read:
"It's either that or baby turns by himself or an elective c-section"

SparklyPseudonym · 03/03/2009 20:01

Fruity How is the research going? Don't forget about my friend's email - if you want it I'm sure she'd be happy to share her experience with you. Hope he turns.

Where is everyone else? It's very quiet in here.

BellaHarry · 03/03/2009 21:17

Piper hope you don;t have to wait too long!

Fruity personally I would go for the c-sction if baby doesn't turn himself; isn;t there an element of risk with them attempting to shift him for you? My uncle's wife had that same decision to make 4 years ago, that's what she told me anyway?? Hope he turns though hun!! xx

Fruity and Lola what time are we meeting on sat? x

HerNameWasLola · 03/03/2009 21:35

Will post properly tomorrow, splitting headache tonight, but just wanted to let you know I heard the hb All good Found it straight away again, LO is being very obliging, long may it last

Fruity and Bella how about 3ish on saturday? Will take us 1.5 hours or so to get there, so shall I text Fruity when we're on our way with a more precise time? Was thinking of asking my friend who we're staying with if she can reccommend any really nice coffee/tea shops nearby, should hopefully be able to do a bit better than Costas Fruity isn't it you who has a friend who works for JJMMBB on Northcote Rd? They have a maternity boutique there as well, just a few doors along from the normal shop... whaddya reckon Bella? Worth a look? BTW is your name really Bella? I need a few days to get used to RL names! Are you on fb?

Back tomorrow for a less self indulgent post bed now though I think. Nite all xx

scully · 04/03/2009 11:05

Fruity, I found dd1 was breech at 37wks as well, pita isn't it I tried the all fours/washing floors bit, couldn't get in to reflexology in time, and did I try ecv as well. It wasn't painful, uncomfortable but not painful. Didn't work though, as dd1 didn't turn. One thing I was happy about though was that my labour with her started spontaneously after my waters broke in the middle of the night, so although it was a c/s, she at least decided when it was time, and the date was a surprise to us.
Consequently with dd2 I became much more clued up on optimal fetal positioning and did those exercises from about half way through the pregnancy, to avoid another c/s. Your baby still might turn though, a friend of mine's turned, all on her own, without intervention, and stayed head down, so it is possible. Good luck, but a c/s isn't the end of the world if ds2 stays breech, a safe delivery for both of you is most important. Although I understand it takes a while to get your head around your plans being changed.
I had a nice day in the air conditioning today, and managed to cook a nice dinner which dh and dd1 really enjoyed. dd2 didn't but she is 3 so what she eats changes by the hour
How's the headache Lola?
How are you doing Sparkly, haven't driven yourself mad yet?
Hi to everyone else

BellaHarry · 04/03/2009 11:53

Lola sorry about the headache...I get them bad too! Buggers to shift! My name is 'Kat' Bella and Harry are my little pussy cats! 3pm is good for me, I'm picking Fruity up on the way, so just let her know a more accurate time that's cool. I do indeed have fb and am completely addicted - Look up 'Kat Turner' and I will have our good friend fruity as a friend in common x what's your full name so I know to accept you, should you choose to ask . By the way maternity boutique sounds fab!! well up for that one! xx

scully what are these exercises to get baby in good position? I'm nearly half way now, so should I be thinking about doing it?

Bella How long until your scan?

FruitynNutty · 04/03/2009 13:42

Hello you lot,

Went to our "notice of intention" appointment at the registry office this morning. It all seems so complicated! I couldn't believe it when the woman sent me out while DP was questioned then vice versa, what's that about? Also, DP (surprise!) didn't know the date of the actual wedding which the woman wasn't impressed with. He's a man! What does she expect?
She also expected us to know the name and address of the reg office we're getting married at. It's in bloody September, we'll find out when we write the invitations! (it's on a confirmation letter somewhere btw)
Honestly, they must assume we've all been married before and know what we're doing and what we're going to be asked. She made us feel like complete numptys. Plus I don't think she was impressed that I brought the children with me. Well, they should be available for appointments on weekends then shouldn't they

I'm fighting with DP again so not sure this wedding will actually go ahead anyway - I won't go into detail. Seems to be when he's been out drinking that he gets like this, rude, ignorant, a shit head basically.

Anyway, I've decided to try and turn this baby myself if I can, if that doesn't work then I'll book an ECV for the end of next week - yes Bella it does carry risks but the baby and I are monitored/scanned for up to 40 mins before hand, during and after. It's quite a procedure apparently, slightly nervous! If that doesn't work then I'll book a c-section for when I've just turned 40 weeks (or the very end of 39 weeks). That way I'll get a good 4 weeks of work to recover. I haven't actually discussed this with the consultant yet so not sure what he'll say, I'll see him tomorrow morning.

Bella Lola 3pm is great for me, just call/text me nearer the time Lola And yes we can look in jjmmbb

Bella optimal foetal positioning - on all fours, head on crossed arms and bum in the air for as long as you can everyday - oh so attractive How exciting, halfway already!

scully glad you enjoyed the air con and thanks for the advise about ECV. I need as many opinions as possible as I don't know much about it.

Sparkly oooh not long now, I really hope you're not disappointed. Just remember it's early days. I told you what I saw at my early scan - a black hole!

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 17:42

Bella can't believe you're nearly half way already I swear Fruity and FriendsOfFruity get two weeks for the price of one when they are pg! Will go and find you on fb in a min. My first name is very similar to yours, FB initials KF, and we will have Miss MB as a friend in common

My friend has suggested a tea shop on the Northcote Rd called Crumpet for tea, which is really good to hear as it's owned by the husband of a lady I work with Although I think maybe my friend already knew that...

Thanks for the headache enquiries/sympathy. B*stard is still there... going to go and see my acupuncturist tomorrow to see if she can help. Fingers crossed...

Fruity good luck for your appt tomorrow, let is know how you get on. Really good that they monitor you so closely for ECV, don't fancy it much, but you haven't been left with a great selection of options have you . And at DP and the silly woman at the council too. Of course he didn't know the date of the wedding, he's a man That's why you have it engraved on the inside of his wedding ring, so he has no excuse to ever forget your anniversary

Piper at 15 weeks for your first scan!!! That's dreadful! Mainly because it would be too late to have a nuchal by that stage. Do you know if you want one? I guess if you do you'd have to go private?
Blo*dy nhs lottery...

Scully what nice dinner did you cook? Am totally out of inspiration here, I think all I have actually cooked since being pg (as in followed a recipe etc) is soup! Did a potato and leek and a mushroom. Mind you, the mushroom was pretty fab, even if I do say so myself

Sparkly I do feel reassured now thank you - at least for now! The reassurance seems to last about a week, which was ok when I had consultant's apps every 2 weeks, but waiting from 11 weeks til 15 weeks has proved impossible! Am assuming I'll see him again at 20 weeks, so that will probably feel like a lifetime too, but nothing compared to 20 weeks til 40 weeks!!! Not long to go now for you. One more sleep and then you can say "my scan is tomorrow" Glad you don't have to wait around all day for it either. Is DP going with you? Am I going to have to come to Cardiff on Saturday instead of seeing Fruity & Bella in London to give you a shake to stop you panicking if it is inconclusive??

What's happened to Ei Mollie & Georgie?? Time for some texting I think! xx

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 17:43

Check out my colourful post!

BellaHarry · 04/03/2009 19:01

Lola found you on fb x

BellaHarry · 04/03/2009 19:04

Sparkly my next scan is on 23rd Feb, I'll be 22 weeks so deff going to ask to know the sex!!!

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 19:09

Fruity & Bella: crumpet!

Bella glad you've found me, cos I couldn't find you!

Will check distance from Crumpet to JJMMBB, but it can't be far. Crumpet is a 5-10min walk from Clapham Jnct, hope that's ok xx

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 19:12

It's next door!! Perfect!! In fact I think you can see it in the photo on the Crumpet website

FruitynNutty · 04/03/2009 19:13

Lola don't get to excited about JJMMBB! I don't see my friend much really - drifted apart after school. So don't think we'll get discount but you never know! She might offer it

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 19:26

Wasn't thinking about the discount so much as trawling around for hours, dragging you two along, then finally finding it and not liking anything anyway! The girl who was my chief bridesmaid works for JL and NEVER shares her discount with anyone so wouldn't be expecting anything anyway!

HerNameWasLola · 04/03/2009 19:37

Blody hell Bella*!!! Just seen your bump pic on fb! How many weeks were you then? I have NOTHING!!! Are you sure it's not twins? Triplets maybe?? Am SOOOOOOOOOOO !!

teeheelaydee · 04/03/2009 19:39

Evening ladies

Just running a bath which will probably overrun by the time I finish! Knackered after squeezing in the cleaning and ironing today - mainly as I am spending quite alot of time this week socialising! Got to get it in while I can. First NCT class last night which was good - seem like a nice bunch of people and half the ladies in the group went to my yoga course.

Fruity Sorry to hear things aren't improving with P(dropping the D until he sorts himself out) I'm sure a new baby will wake him up (and not just literally!) Honestly I would've been if he didn't know the date of his own wedding!

Lola Glad your paranoia has subsided for now- I think my limit was 2 weeks so I know exactly what you mean about he rollercoaster type thing. Honestly though the bit between 20 and 40 weeks is not so bad - you have the wiggles and kicks to reassure you and you have to start organising stuff so the time does start to move a bit.

As Sparkly you will no doubt find as well. Just in case I don't get a chance to post tomorrow - GOOD LUCK for Thurs, I will be thinking of you - what time is it?

Bella Cannot believe you are nearly halfway - seems to be going quickly like Scully's although other people's pg's always seem to go quicker than one's own! How was the baby show by the way - any interesting purchases.

Speaking of dragging - Piper how annoyed you must be to have to wait that long for your scan - how will you cope?

Ou est Georgie ?? and Mollie - Stop symptom spotting and post lady! Also think I may have said this already but Ei am soo impressed with your weight loss.

Bath now done- so Hello to any lurkers and thank you to my guru (Mibbes) for some more sage advice to put in the bank - How are those boobs of yours
