Doctor says there is nothing they can do so I just have to wait, and hope I don't get the rash! Doc thinks it's very rare for adults to get it though; fingers crossed!

Congratulations Piper, so chuffed for you!!!

thanks Mollie and Bella bella hope everything is ok with you xx , fruitys right, keep away from google

SparklyPseudonym · 26/02/2009 20:01

Hi ladies,
Am feeling really negative today. Had a streak of dark discharge today which I know is prob nothing and have also been sitting very still and thinking I'm cramping. I have a spot on my chin which started all this worry off because my skin broke out just before last mc. My (.)(.)s are still sore though so am trying very hard not to worry.
Piper Have already said congrats but it would be rude not to say it again. Good luck to you lady.
Fruity Good luck with the HB plans. Are they making you go to hospital at last min or is that what you want to do?
Mollie You made me giggle, you little minx!! Am keeping everything crossed that it pays off for you. Lots of luck for tomorrow. How is Mollie?
Bella Fingers crossed for you. Am sure all will be fine.

Hello to everyone else

FruitynNutty · 26/02/2009 20:30

Oh Sparkly I had loads of spots in early preg. It's not neccasserily (sp?) a bad thing. Also, dark blood is good right? It's the bright red stuff you don't want.
Just take it really easy and chin up xx xx

Re the hospital: I want to go in at the last minute. If I have no choice but to register for a HB then I'd like to stay at home for as long as possible and give birth in hospital. I won't tell them that though I'll just say to them if I can't have Carmen suite then I'm having a HB. I'm trying to call their bluff

HerNameWasLola · 26/02/2009 20:49

Piper WOOOOO HOOOOO fantastic news!!! congratulations! Really thrilled for you

So, these things go in 3s you know, who will next?? Either that or Piper or Sparkly must be having twins

SparklyPseudonym DO NOT PANIC (using your full nickname is meant to sound stern and teacher/mother-like the same as using your full name in RL btw ) You're allowed to have a wobble but please try not to assume the worst, I do know how hard it is. But:

  1. Streak of dark discharge is just the right time to be a late (and tiny) implantation bleed. AF would be with you now right? I'm pretty sure Mibbes had one with Evan, and it didn't do him any harm
  2. You may well feel a bit crampy, I did at about your point this time round, more so than last time. It's just your bean getting comfy for a nice long stay. In fact the only time I haven't had any cramping was with my first pg which never really got off the starting blocks.
  3. Spot could well be a good sign! If you look back a few weeks on here you'll see a very similar panic from me saying almost exactly the same thing as you. Truth is every pg is different, and with the amount of hormones currently flying round your body, combined with the amount of stress you're under, is it any wonder you have a spot?
Can you get your 7.5 week scan booked so you can start counting down the days? Would maybe be good to have something to focus on, after that at least you'll know if you've overcome the first few major hurdles. I have every faith in you, and in this pg! But I will keep everything crossed for you if you like, just to be on the safe side

Mollie hope Mollie is feeling better. "Just a cat" would be a ridiculous thing to say. I can actually make myself cry imagining something happening to Nemo (Lola, not so much ) You be careful not to exhaust DP too much, make sure he has some swimmers left for the vital moment

Georgie FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! Am so thrilled for you Please tell us more of Prof Nicholaides, I want DETAILS!!

Bella sorry to hear about slapped cheek, it seems to be a real worry for teachers. I've seen it mentioned quite a few times on Knicker Checkers, but no one has ever had a bad experience from it in the end, just lots of horrible worry. Fingers crossed it'll be the same for you. Don't panic if you get a cold though, there are SO many of them about atm, in schools it must be especially bad. Hope you get some answers soon

Fruity I can just imagine you leaving things that bit too long and having a real home birth, whether you plan to or not I'd be very surprised if calling the hospital's bluff works, but I really hope I'm wrong. Tbh am even more at your "D"P's attitude towards having a birthing pool at home than I am about his refusal to go to the registry office... Remind me why you want to marry him?!? Hope he pulls his socks up for you soon xx

Really sorry I haven't got time to catch up with everyone else right now, I really ought to go and read my papers for tomorrow...

SparklyPseudonym · 26/02/2009 21:03

Georgie I only looked at this page before so missed your post. Many congrats on DD3 .
Fruity Thank you. Hopefully calling their bluff will do some good.
Lola Thanks for your advice. Am feeling slightly more positive after realising small cramps were prob due to dinner last night - went to an indian veggie place....I've also had a sore back since before we found out. Likely to be the dreadful bed we slept on in Paris but you know how worry is...Am going to book scan for 16th March sooo just over 2 weeks to go.

BellaHarry · 26/02/2009 21:23

Thanks for all your kind words guys. Baby is still moving around so hopefully it's ok. I'm going to be so so careful now about being too close to the kids and just hope for the best really. There's another girl at work who's pregnant, we're both crapping it really. It's as slim chance I have to focus on that really. Not feeling so bad now after talking to doc.

Can't believe these BFPs, it's fab!!! xxx

HerNameWasLola · 26/02/2009 21:35

Sparkly glad you have something positive to focus on now iykwim. All my scans have been mondays too, let's hope it's a good sign for both of us

Bella Am so of you feeling movement! When did it start? (ie when will it be my turn How often & what do you feel??? You're right it's a slim chance - we all have to remember that despite our various worries in many ways babies are pretty resiliant little things (Someone can remind me of that during my next panic if they want )

HerNameWasLola · 26/02/2009 21:37

PS is the big ad at the top of each page really p*ing anyone else off or is it just me? It's putting me off Boden for a start! Really irritating to have to scroll down to see the first message, I keep thinking the page hasn't loaded properly...

Right. Work. Here I come. I wonder whether I could do it in bed...

teeheelaydee · 27/02/2009 08:07

Gosh don't check for one day and all sorts of things going on.

Sparkly Try to force yourself to stay positive. As the others have said it could be a good thing. I had cramps at the beginning too - nature's cruel ways making early pg symptoms the same as AF symptoms.

Bella Was going to say much the same as Lola about school and germs so don't read too much into your cold. Sounds like the odds are in your favour. I would have a word with your head about the fact that this kid is still at school- surely attendance figures are less important than the staff's health!

Lola Listen to you all sensible and calming - I certainly will remind you of this next time you wobble Actually it is great to hear as it sounds like you are really starting to get your head around the fact that this pg is going to end in baby! Yes the ad is p**sing me off too.

With my non-post post the other I can't remember if I thanked Mibbes for the CD but thanks I have it and it is fab. We listened to a very similar relaxation at my last yoga session and I relaxed so much I nearly fell asleep, in fact I think the only thing that stopped me was that Sticky was doing the congo in my tummy!

Fantastic news on the scan Georgie all such a relief and you can definitely go pink mad now. I have to say the last couple of weeks we have been dying to know what flavour we are having but will just have to wait.

Mollie I just need to get something to post your stuff in - I will hurry up as it seems you are on a mission. Show your DH this thread and explain that the explosion on BFP's is why he needs to bonk you senseless, also you may want to mention that when you do get pg he probably won't be allowed to touch you for the first few weeks at least so he may as well fill his boots now! How is Mollie?

Fruity Sounds like you are taking matters into your own hands - good for you! Agree with lola about the birthing pool and DP- just get it anyway - what will he do!

Ei Hope you are doing OK, have been thinking about you.

And finally the best til last Piper FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! You now have to keep us regularly updated lady!

FruitynNutty · 27/02/2009 09:54

Morning

Piper Sparkly how are you girls feeling?

Ei Hope you're ok?

Lola DP used to be lovely and he can have his moments. I suppose I never comment on his good qualities do I (he does have some I promise!) I'm hoping he'll go back to his old self once baby comes along - or it could make him worse!
Maybe I should just go ahead with the birth pool at home.......
About calling the hospital's bluff, my Doula and another Doula on MN suggested it. I'm quite looking forward to the appointments next week now! Midwife is on Monday and Consultant on Thursday. I'll tell them both my plans
I've begun to pack my hospital bag (A bit early but you never know!) Put in some very cute vests and babygrows and a couple of going home outfits for baby. My Mother bought me a new pair of PJ's so they've gone in.

Are we still all on for the 7th???????????? (Is it the 7th?)

Molliemooma · 27/02/2009 10:09

Sparkly As I told you yesterday and as the others have said, it's only natural for you to be worried after your last experience, PMA lovely lady PMA
Lola I am getting peed off with the ad at the top today, apparently they are trying to fix it but it is very annoying.
Fruity Good on you for giving the hospital the run around after the way they have treated you, now if we could only sort your DP out too . . . .
TeeHee Have already told DH that I don't want him for a few weeks now Nothing like using and abusing

Thanks for all the lovely comments about Mollie, she's much better now after costing me £80 in visits and injections She's back to normal today, trying to nick the crumpet off my plate this morning! Had my toe nail off today, ow ouch and bugger it hurts is all I will say on the subject as I'm too traumatised

Oh and EI hope you are OK if you are lurking, I just know you're going to come back to us with a BFP and be the 3rd one, all that worry will have distracted you and you know what that leads too . .

Mollie wanders back to the sofa to put foot wondering if she's going to feel like she's been left on the shelf at the school disco

SparklyPseudonym · 27/02/2009 11:34

Mornink ladies,

Just a quickie from me because I have SO much work to do. Went to see FEMALE GP this am and told her I'd had a bit of cramping yday (which I think was prob curry related as I had v high temp this am and v strong BFP - oops ) and she has booked me in for a scan next Frida at 11.20. Can't bloody believe it.

Love to you all xxx

BellaHarry · 27/02/2009 15:48

Is there anyone (localish) who would like to come on board if I can organise for a hypnobirthing instructor to run some sessions with us? I suppose it would only be those of us due Jul/Aug but apparantly it's best that groups are small anyway??

Lola The add is p-ing me off too!! Listen to you with your calming words, much appreciated. re. Baby movements I first felt a small one off gurgle low down on my left side at 15 weeks 3 days, then afain one off the next day, nothing for 2 days then 2-3 movements, nothingagain for a while then a few more one off movements. First proper 'kick' was as DH read the hungry caterpillar to my belly (we know he/she prob can't hear) and that woudl have been 17 weeks. for the last 1-2 weeks I feel baby everyday for a few minutes 2-3 times a day. So hopefully not long for you too!

Teehee Apparantly when the rash is up the child is not contagious, so basically he was meant to be off when he had the sniffles, not now (as he is) but a child with sniffles gets no sympathy here! It's soooo mean, they have to be throwing up!

Sparkly fab news about the scan, how many weeks will that be then? Sorry about the dodge belly..never nice!

FruitynNutty · 27/02/2009 20:12

Mollie One thing at a time! Once I get through this birth that is apparently happening soon, I'll work on DP
I'm so pleased Mollie is feeling better, makes me wonder if I should get pet insurance for Phoebe, what do you think? Waste of money?

Sparkly Excellent news about scan! It'll be early but I hope it can put your mind at rest a little.

Lola I haven't even noticed the advert I know it's there now you've mentioned it but it's not bothering me - I'm on Firefox if that helps?

Bella Very impressed with you feeling baby moving, especially your 1st You must be very in tune with your body I don't think I felt DS until I was a good 20 odd weeks. I think I was the same this time too - can't remember . So Lola don't panic if you can't feel anything for a while!

HappyandEiknowit · 28/02/2009 02:44

hey ladies
things are a little better here but there is still a long way to go as to be expected. DH seems to be talking about things alot more and isnt getting so stressed out and worked up as before so im 100% sure he will be ok with some time as will we all. its just so hard to grasp we will never see DHs pop again but we will be ok and thats the main thing that we are all focusing on for now
wowzer piper excellent news!! congrats on your BFP
sparkly sorry to hear about your scare but great that your GP is taking you seriously and has booked a scan for you so quickly!!
georgie excellent news on your DD3 how is your DH handling the news that he is destined to be living with 4 women in the future??
mollie so its us 2 on the bench then?? im glad im in good company but i know i will be the last one standing with the way you are keeping your DH working hard i am having a few health problems (mainly made worse by stress) recently so no nookie being had for a while here but i plan to use and abuse DH as i have started a new medication regime to combat the pain (stomach cramps etc) and it seems to be working up to now so its all go here
my referral appointment is this thursday at 2:45!! well my trans-abdominal scan is then and then i see the consultant at 3:30 to discuss my fertility issues and probably get hauled over the coals for being a podge but thats not a problem seeing as how i have weighed myself recently (yesterday atch!!) and i have lost a grand total of 1 stone ans 6 lb since xmas!! and it is still coming off so i will be as svelte as before i had
DD soon enough with any luck!! and then soda law says i will get preg and eff it all up again lol
i hope everyone is doing well and fruity i am getting very very excited for your up and coming popping
also teehee i didnt notice until before but your due date is also me and DHs first meeting anniversary date!! we met 5 yeas ago 11th april and it was easter sunday!! also is it not georgies aswell?? i seem to recall i was not alone in the 11th april being a special date!!
love and hugs to one and all!!
xx ei xx

Molliemooma · 28/02/2009 12:03

EI Glad to hear that things are looking up for you and DH, but sorry to hear that your health issues are still causing problems. Fantastic news on the weight loss, well done! If it's any consulation I'm much more overweight than you and the consultant only mentioned it right at the very end, at least you are doing something about it Good luck for your scan and appointment, keep us updated x
Fruity Definately get pheobe insured, our other cat Jack got his eye injured in a fight and had to go to the pet eye hospital it cost £600 in total, we heaved a huge sigh of relief that he was insured I can tell you

Very quiet in here, hope everyone is OK, have a great weekend all, get ready to hold my hand on the 2WW
