Oh yeah we've also booked a city break to Paris 6th April, we've never been; have any of you? Any tips on getting around given that I'll be 6 months pg??

Also I'm selling my Car; Renault Clio if anyone (local) is interested or knows someone who is?? It's lovely just not a family car!

HerNameWasLola · 19/02/2009 17:31

Heard the hb

She found it straight away. SUCH a relief!

Bella I looked at the baby show, but DH said no way, and I'm not sure I can be bothered to haul my arse as far as Excel anyway You'll have to let us know what you buy. I know someone who had a sexing scan at it last year... just a thought!
City break sounds lovely I've been to Paris a few times, but none of them recently enough to help with restaurants or whatever. It's a pretty accessible city though, I'd say at 6mths you'll be fine with the metro so long as you don't mind using it 6th April is DH's birthday - I won't tell him you're going to paris and he's going to work

Scully thanks so much for your post, it helps so much to hear people with the same worries iykwim Hope the rains keep it a bit cooler for you. I love a good storm

Hello to everyone else

BellaHarry · 19/02/2009 18:23

Lola oh I'm so so so excited now!! A sexing scan would be just fab! Just mentioned it to DH and he's got all excited!! Oh I hope that's possible!!! Wow. I'm so glad they found hb so easily, I'm excited about hearing our lo's tomorrow! What's it like? We're going to show on payday so taking a list of stuff we need! Woo hoo!!! xx

FruitynNutty · 19/02/2009 18:37

ooh Bella I'll bet Babybond will be there - see what deals they are doing. I usually go to the one in October at Olympia but I think they are the same.

Lola re money problems: Babies really don't cost much. You don't need all the paraphenalia (sp?) that shops and other people would lead you to believe. You can get really cheap cots in Ikea and buggies, well, you can spend a small fortune or go for something basic. There are soooo many things you really don't need. The only things that costs money are nappies. Milk, you will hopefully have plenty of! It's only when they get older that they start costing more money but your priorities change completely anyway.
Don't know what to say about the waking at night for a wee. It's only really just started happening for me and it's only once a night - what can I say? Bladder made of steel
Scully Best of luck for your scan tomorrow, not that you'll need it!

FruitynNutty · 19/02/2009 18:39

forgot to say yay! for the scan Lola

HerNameWasLola · 19/02/2009 19:16

Just logging on tp say Good luck to Scully for tomorrow, realised I forgot before Am sure you'll be absolutely fine, but it's a nerve wracking process all the same. Hope you have a good time at the cinema, let us know what you see

Fruity wise words. Thanks. It's not really the "stuff" that worries me, we're lucky in that we should be able to borrow the vast majority of it, it's how we'll pay the mortgage when I'm not working... I never set out to be the major bread winner, not sure how it happened.... Oh yeah, and at bladder of steel Hopefully I should stop needing to 'go' so much soon, mw said she could feel that my uterus has now risen out of my pelvis ([thrilled emoticon])

Bella I really hope I haven't got your hopes up for nothing.... Can't imagine the scan people won't be there though... good luck! What's your instinct? Boy or girl?

Am disgusting. Am sitting here eating hummus out of the pot with my finger. Mmmmmmm...

Forgot to say before, mw has altered my due date as the nuchal put me 4 days ahead of where I really am. Not too thrilled about it, I KNOW I didn't conceive then - physical impossibility - and that means they'd induce me sooner. BUT that is very low down on the list of worries atm!

FruitynNutty · 19/02/2009 19:29

I agree about the mortgage worry I'm slightly crapping myself. Even having four weeks off is a worry but if I need 6 weeks after a c-section then I'm in the sh*t big time!
Can't help you with that worry I'm afraid

BellaHarry · 19/02/2009 22:04

Lola/Fruity just scoured the website and babybond are there on sat!!! They are offering an 'event scan' which is £95 includes dvd and two pics, but DH says it's only worth it if it's a 3d/4d scan. What do you think? Will it be? oooh I think a girl but really don't mind just want to know him/her!

teeheelaydee · 19/02/2009 22:55

Evening ladies, sorry not been around but DP and I have been in a bit of a holiday bubble and have been keeping pretty busy with house stuff. Have been popping my head round the door to catch up but just not had time to post. However there's been lots going on here so wanted to post before another day disappeared! On laptop battery though so will have to make it quick.

Ei Hopefully funeral being over will help both of you and DH although of course it will take time. Thanks for letting us know how you're doing though.

Scully Good Luck for tomorrow, although it's probably today with you and you are already skipping back safe in the knowledge that Mini-Scully is well and wiggly. Let us know as soon as won't you.

Emmsy Hope it's nothing too serious and that the great news about work helps you get better whatever it turns out to be. That must be a relief as June would've come round so quickly.

Lola Sleep thing - totally normal (hark at me like I'm some expert all of a sudden ) I have found at different times sleep quite hard to come by - early on like you are now and also at Xmas time so I was about 22-26ish weeks. Mainly disturbed by toilet visits but then impossible to get back to sleep. Try a relaxing oil in burner before bed and some nice music (Beethoven worked for me) tried some breathing and relaxation before reading. Also found and still do that the nights I didn't watch TV I got to sleep better and went back to sleep easier if I did have to get up for the loo. Don't lie in the dark fretting - read or get a warm drink and a banana is supposed to be good - I think it is the potassium or something. As you can see I tried a variety of things. As for the worrying - do you write a journal, sometimes I find writing it all down gets it out of my head and allows me to talk myself round to a more positive view. - Just a few suggestions hope something helps. GREAT news about the hb too

Mollie Have just sent you a text too but wanted to post as have more room (although no idea how much battery as my little icon thingy as disappeared) You appt sounds so similar to the one I had last March except he didn't want to do genetic tests yet and rebooked me for 6 months time. Basically told me that at least with mc 2 we knew I was pg as had had a scan even though mc 1 & 3 I had done 2 tests and AF had not turned up. My GP did the genetic tests for us when I was off sick. Anyway enough about me! I think it is really hard to accept that when you've had such a challenging time there really is nothing wrong - I just could get my head around that when all our tests came back OK but the chances are yours will be fine. I also think it's hard to get back on the horse (compliment to your DH? ) when you have no guarantees, but that may be what you have to do. My hospital appointment seemed like some hope and it was a real let down which knocked me for six. Once you have the tests try your hardest to get back to a positive frame of mind and see no news as good news. Remember I also have 3 m/c's under my belt, which like you came pretty damn quickly and the last was only last February and here I am 32 weeks pg and at 34 no spring chicken either. Hope some of that helps or gives you some hope and I haven't just preached you to death or sleep! (Lola - quick tip read a Teehee post before bed and you will soon drop off) BTW we are considering a weeks holiday in the Cotswolds in July and DP reminded me today that I could visit you - bet you'll be infanticipating by then!

Emmsy1 · 20/02/2009 00:01

THLD it sure is a relief, june 2009 def not good time to go back to work, June 2010 sounds much better
scully would really love to hear frogs and toads outside, wouldn't even be bothered about the thunder storms, not sure if 'sticky' sounds too good, but this british weather is aload of crap! I hope your scan is 'spot on' tomorrow, I know it will be.X Not as worried tonight, decided to go to the docs today instead of waiting for my pre booked appt on monday, doc is not sending me to an eye specialist now! He decided to do some blood tests instead, I will have tests done on Monday, he seems to think (quite confidently that they will be normal!) I said that is what I want, he then said, that is not to say they won't be in a year's time, he then went on to say that sometimes it takes years before problems are detected, and it's only when we look back and see that other things were going on,that we realise that they were the start of the problems? Think he's trying to tell me that because the pain's aren't that bad at the moment there's no way that tests will show anything but as the years progress and I'm crying with the pain, then they will trace some nasty disease! told him I was only really worried about losing my sight, he told me that as long as my episcleritis stays away I will be ok. Feel alot better now, my eye's are my main concern at the moment, have had some real horrible bouts of blurred vision, dry eye is now chronic, but heyho 'bring it on'.
Really sorry to come on here, bringing the thread down with health problems, have had them for a few years now but they have got a little worse over the last few months, think sparkly knows I have had a few worries.
Starting to feel more optamistic now, even thinking of trying to diet again next week and start my jogging again! Fed up of being stuck at 10st and haven't had the fighting urge to do anything about it. (still not sure if heart is really in it)
fruity you must be getting a healthy looking tum now your are due around two of my childrens birthdays, did you deliver on time with your DS?

Emmsy1 · 20/02/2009 00:05

sorry about spelling girls, just checked over post, have had a few drinks tonight and don't really drink that often anymore. DH is off work this week and felt as though I needed it tonight(drink that is!!)

scully · 20/02/2009 05:29

Hi, another humid day here and waiting for the next storm to arrive Were supposed to be going to a school picnic on the oval tonight but it's been postponed because of the predicted storm, bugger really as the bbq there was going to be dinner
Scan went well this morning, talk about thorough, took an hour and we have 80 pictures Feel reassured that they have checked everything that they can on a scan. Heatbeat was 167beats per minute. We could have found out the sex but didn't, so we don't have any full profile shots but have some nice head shots with hands in it as well.
Dh and I went to see Ghost Town, with Ricky Jervais at the movies afterwards, good movie, and worth $6 a ticket to sit in the air conditioning
Fruity, can dp take over the mortgage to give you some more time off after ds2 arrives?
Bella, Paris, I'm envious, love going there, and we found it surprisingly child friendly when we were there with the dd's in May 2006.
Hi to everyone else

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 20/02/2009 09:35

Morning. It's Snot Central at Chez P today. One ear blocked, so keep walking around going 'what?', 'you'll have to speak up'....actually not so bad cos it muffles some of the DD's whitterings .

Lola I didn't have those problems in 1st trimester. I get them in 3rd trimester. Just wondering whether you could try a few drops of lavendar oil on your pillow to help you nod off again. MW also said that Bach Rescue Remedy is ok to take. It calms me down when I get hett up about stuff.

As for name for DD3, looks like we're plumping for..... drum roll please.....Florence Eden Postlethwaite. Although, I'm also really liking Flora, but no middle name yet. So those are my two choices.

I've got a mate coming down on 7th so won't be able to join in the fun and frolicks. She's supposed to be coming this weekend, but DS2 (4 months) has chickenpox. My DH never had it, DD2 not had it and knowing my luck they will both contract it and I'll have to look after both of them whilst feeling like pants myself. So the w/e been postponed wil 7th Mar.

Scully Been thinking about you this morning. Really hope that everything is fine with the scan. And that you have a lovely day with DH. We're taking the DD's to see Bolt this arvo. Not quite the same type of film that you'll be seeing me thinks!

Ei How are you and DH?

Emmsy On blimey, looks like this illness is the last thing you need. Hope that the doc can shed some light on things for you. How's Amy and the rest of the DC's? Are you surviving half term?

Fruity Sounds like a plan lady! Just get as much stuff as you can down the hatch to get the little man out!!!

Bella and Fruity How was GBK? Yum. Love that place. Any left overs floating about?!

Mollie I can't beleive you've got no answers and that it was only a registrar that saw you. How utterely frustrating. Can you take it any further or will you just try again and hope for the best? I'm so sorry that it's all boiled down to this. I'd be furious with them. Although, is it better to know that all your tests have come back negative? Rather than being diagnosed with some genetic problem? Oh mate, it's not been a great time for you has it.

Hello Mibbes and Cricri. Hope you are both well.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 20/02/2009 09:41

BellaHarry · 20/02/2009 12:59

Georgie left overs! are you kidding! I was even eating the crispy chips at the bottom.

Scully if you have some tips on places to go in Paris let me know (or palces to avoid for that matter)

I just rang BabyBond to book a scan at the Baby show on Saturday, but apparantly for it to be done at the show you need to have had the anomaly scan I suppose I understand, it's not really the place or time to give bad news, but boo! I'm so so so so desperate to know what we're having!!! AAAAGHHHH!

Off to MW in an hour or so to hear heart beat I hope.

Take care all! x

BellaHarry · 20/02/2009 15:44

We Heard the hb! x

SparklyPseudonym · 20/02/2009 17:33

HerNameWasLola · 20/02/2009 19:15

OH MY GOD!!!!! Just logged on to see who was about before we go out and saw a post from Sparkly, so had to come in to read it, and WOW!!! FANTASTIC NEWS am SO thrilled for you lovely lady Know exactly what you mean about not knowing what to feel, just concentrate on breathing, and not shaking too much We'll be here for you whatever happens - no reason to think anything other than that this will mean a little brother or sister for your DD in 8 months' time! CONGRATULATIONS!!! One step at a time, and we'll all get there

Gotta run now, will catch up properly over the weekend xx
