Aaaagh!!!! I just went to the hairdressers and the guy cut off all my lovely long hair!! He went mad with it! I feel like crying, I've been growing it for 2 years!!!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/02/2009 19:13

Mollie Good luck for tomorrow hon. really hope it goes well. Fingers, legs and toes crossed for you both.

TeeHee How much of a bashing did the credit card get then?! I'll be following you to Ikea in a month or so. At least you made a shopping list. Must do the same.

Bella Oh mate. You sound suicidal. Did you do the 'english' thing and sit in the chair and not say anything?! Is it very bad or will it look better tomorrow?

Fruity How's DS this week? DD1 and 2 off school this week so can sympathise. Ugh. And I can't beleive how soon DS2 will be with you. Eek. Am going to get a play mat from ebay too. They just get pukked on and this is def the last one for me!

Scully How's things with you? When's your 20 week scan? Got mine on 24th Feb. Bit nervous actually.

Lola Am so pleased the blood test results came back so low. Brilliant news. Do you feel more reassured now?

Feeling really pants at the moment. Had a horrible sty in my eye last week and now got a snotty/sicky cold. Still being sick as well. Think the last 6 months with the build and pg worries have finally caught up with me. Strepsils and honey and lemon drink not really touching the sides.

Off to snort Olbas Oil. xxxxxx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/02/2009 20:02

Lola Forgot to say, thanks for the link to the names thread. We have chosen a name.....and it's one of the following..... Florence, Beatrice or Ophelia. Not telling which one yet!!! And we've come up with a pretty cool middle name too.....Eden. Not everyone's cup of tea. But we like it.

However, check in with me in 5 months time when the LO is due and we might have totally changed our minds!!

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 16/02/2009 20:43

Georgie I adore the name Florence btw, I named my baby massage doll Florence (Flo)
Bella I'm sure it's not bad at all, just new! Can't wait to see it on Weds!

Anyone wanna hear the latest Fruity's DP comment? I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Ok, he asked me if I would mind doing the dinner (he normally does it - the one thing he does do!) while he does his exercises in the bedroom. He said he doesn't mind doing it but thought he would ask. I said "Well actually, if you don't mind, my back's a bit sore"
So he says "Why don't you stop going to so many playgroups if you're so tired, I've only just walked through the door and you're dead! You give all your energy to your mates"!!!!
FFS! Now I'm being made to feel guilty for being a bit tired in the evenings. I didn't even go to any playgroups today!
He also wants me to stop going to so many playgroups (it's only 3 times a week) so I can spend more time cleaning the flat. How the hell has he turned into such a neanderthal?

Rant over, hmmmph

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 16/02/2009 22:02

Fruity Can't you ebay the bastard?! .

OP posts:
scully · 17/02/2009 01:19

Don't you go to playgoups with your mindees Fruity? So that would be part of your job to do that? I would so no to cooking dinner too, or else you will get stuck with that all the time. I'm sure it's because you work from home that his attitude has changed to what you should be doing during the day. I notice a change with my dh whenever I've been on maternity leave and not going to work, as to what suddenly becomes my jobs, even though I am at home looking after small children I do like Georgie's suggestion, although you may not get much for him
Georgie, my scan is this Friday 20/2. Can feel regular kicking now but still nervous about. I found a baby bag I like yesterday, 30% off as well so only $25 but won't buy it or anything else baby related until after the scan. I did buy some more maternity shirts yesterday that I found on sale, but they are out of necessity. The cot and moses basket mattresses, baby bag, bouncer etc can wait until after this Friday. A bit neurotic I know but still don't like to feel like I'm tempting fate. Well done for getting down to a shortlist of 3 names, I can't find my name books from the dd's, so need to buy another one. Have no idea what this child is going to be called, haven't thought of any names that really appeal or that I could live with and say several hundred times a day
Have you got used to your new hair yet Bella? I haven't had my hair cut or coloured since end of Sept Keep finding other things to spend $130 on but might treat myself next month, once I've replenished the savings account a bit more.
How was the consultant appt Mollie?
Have to say I am loving my pregnancy nails, had great nails with the dd's as well and do again with this one. Might need to squeeze in a manicure soon as well, so I can enjoy my talons whilst I have them
Hi to everyone else

BellaHarry · 17/02/2009 09:48

Fruity I'm with Georgie on the ebay idea! I'd be livid!!!

Scully haor looks like a mushroom this morning so not impressed, no an i have pooey nails and skin too

FruitynNutty · 17/02/2009 14:54

Not even sure I could even give him away on Ebay

Scully I'm with you on the preg nails! Mine actually grow now but they are so weak that they usually snap off or I get them caught and they bend right back [ouch!]
ne of my old school friend's Wife has just had a baby boy yesterday and she was only 2 weeks ahead of me! [eeek!]
Good luck with the scan on Friday! You must post the pics!

I'm dreading tomorrow afternoon, I've managed to over book myself child wise - whoopsie! (only one more than I'm allowed) Ofsted would give me such a heard time It was completely unintentional though, I'm all out of sync with it being half term. I think I'd better stay indoors with them all. Bella Looking forward to our burger and chips tomorrow but I'll be quite frazzled after being with so many kiddies! Might need a glass of wine to calm my nerves!

I've just spent the morning with one of my best friends. She had a coffee morning at hers with her NCT pals. What a bunch of snobs is all I can say Had one moaning to me about her new Nanny letting her down and that she can't put her child into a nursery because they won't take him when he's ill! Why would you send your child to nursery when they're ill FFS?! Sometimes I wonder why people have children. I said well, as a CM, I wouldn't be able to take an ill child either (high temp or D&V) - they should be at home anyway! (I didn't say the last bit) They were all talking about going back to work (after a whole year off!) and hiring Nannies.
The best one was when my friend offered me a coffee and one mother said "Ooh, coffee when you're pregnant?" "er yes!"
Honestly, I had to stifle a laugh when my friend mentioned that the rusks she had put out were reduced sugar. I think she was trying to impress the NCT brigade!
I bet those babies will be eating choc biccies and drinking fruit shoots before they know it!

BellaHarry · 17/02/2009 15:12

Fruity ....especially when the women go back to work bickies and what ever else shuts them up (I remember those days)hee hee

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 17/02/2009 16:52

Can someone just pass a law that says all pg women can NOT get ill. Am so horribly ill with this cold and I'm sorry, bit Olbas Oil and Strepsils DO NOT hit the spot when you have a throbbing ear, a sore throat and a chest that feels as if an elephant is sitting on it.

I've got 13 kids coming tomorrow for a High School Musical 3 party.

Just shoot me now .

Sorry. Moan over.

Fruity Ha. Totally agree with you. Although learnt my lesson with Fruit Shoots and DD1 going hyper. NEVER again. I feel the same about parents taking their sick children to school. Why pass the misery round to the rest of the class?

Bella Did you manage to sort out the mushroom hair?

Scully Good luck for the scan on Friday. Are you going to find out what flavour it is? I know what you mean about being superstitious and not buying anything. Although, if this is a girl, then we don't really need anything.

Mollie Forgot to say. How did it go today?

OP posts:
BellaHarry · 17/02/2009 19:43

Georgie wacked the straightners down it made it more normal yeah. it's ok I suppose. Good luck with the party! Sounds mentalx

Lola My jeans arrived but were too long so I've re-ordered, have you got yours yet?

Molliemooma · 17/02/2009 21:57

Just a quick update as just got in and I'm knackered.

Basically the appt was a big fat waste of time, we'd already had most of our test results by letter, stating they were all clear. We were waiting for one more day 3 and a genetic one from me and DH, but guess what . . they still haven't got those. So the registrar (not the consultant) sat and told us what we knew already, she also said that it's very rare for there to be a genetic problem so as far as she's concerned we are one of the statistics of miscarriage and we should just try again and hope for the best Thanks for melting my whole emotional year into one statistic love! I just knew that this would happen and had prepared myself for no answers but still feel very disappointed and frustrated. She has asked me to have a 21 day blood test as a few of these test results have shown no ovulation. She then booked a follow up appt for 3 months time, if we're not pg by then she will discuss clomid.

I am trying to look on the positive side at least we haven't been told we can never have children but I'm 37 this year, and feeling a little pressured to say the least. Also doesn't help when SIL is shedding them like peas and doing nothing but moaning about it

Sorry for the me post will catch up with you all tomorrow

HappyandEiknowit · 18/02/2009 00:22

hi ladies
im just popping in to say hello and to let you all know i havent fell off the edge of the earth yet
the funeral was today and went as well as expected but DH is in bits as am i to be honest but we will get there
hope everyone is well (i havent read through)
xx ei xx

FruitynNutty · 18/02/2009 08:42

Oh Mollie How disappointing These people seem to just view their patients as a conveyor belt and don't have any sympathy at all. You've been through so much and to come away with a comment like that must be heart breaking. If the tests are showing no ovulation, does that mean you may have slight PCO? Have they done any scans?

Ei Lovely to see you, poor DH (and you).

BellaHarry · 18/02/2009 14:32

Mollie sorry the appointment was such a dissapointment it must be so frustrating for you not knowing 'why'.

Ei glad the funeral went smoothly, hope you and DH feel better soon x

Emmsy1 · 18/02/2009 17:14

mollie sorry the tests weren't very helpful I know it's easier said than done, but try not too worry too much about the age thingy,I had my first at 35 and Amy at 43,hang on in there hun X
ei about DH grandad, thinking of you both X

Sorry it's been ages, have had a busy few weeks, it was my DH and oldest son's birthdays the other week so had party's and a sleep over to sort out, also spent a few days tying to get sister's pc working (managed to finally get an intenet connection for her, but had to do a complete computer recovery which meant having to load all her software for everything all over again)
We are all well(ish) have had a few probs with my eyes, dry eye is now chronic and doc thinks it's caused by an underlying condition, will be seeing him on monday, he said if not improved within a month he will refer me back to specialist, well the month is up and still no improvement so hope doc gets the ball rolling asap. Also having more and more joint pains in fingers, knuckles, toes, shoulders and cheek bones so I know I have something wrong with me but just not 100% sure as yet? Bloody crap body! wish I could trade it in for a better one
Anyway looking on the brighter side, work phoned me on the 11th Feb to tell me they have authorised my request for an additional year off, I was over the moon, won't have to part with Amy on 29th June, it's such a relief, no doubt I will start worrying again in a year's time, but by then Amy will be a little older and hopefully I will have some answers or treatment for what ever is going on with my health? take care for now, hope to speak soon XX

HerNameWasLola · 18/02/2009 19:20

Evening lovelies

Lovely to hear from you Emmsy, hope you get some answers from the docs soon, symptoms don't sound like much fun

Mollie as I said yesterday, I'm so on your behalf at the treatment you're getting from your hospital. Why do they keep palming you off with registrars?

Georgie hope you're feeling better, High School Musical party plus a stinking cold sounds like the 7th circle of hell to me

Ei so sorry to hear what you and DH are going through atm We're all here for you if there's anything we can do. Take care of each other xx

Bella got my jeans, they're a pretty good fit. I have the 10Reg which are on the short-ish side but ok for low boots and I'm hoping that most of the time I want to wear them I'll be in flip flops anyway. Atm I can wear them rolled down, the over-bump bit comes right up to my boobs! Can't wait til flip flop weather, hoping that will coincide with decent size bump too!

Have made an appt to see mw tomorrow aft. I'm pretty sure it's due to stress but I had the most awful headache for about 36 hours, started at 4.30am yesterday. Has more or less gone now but I'm a bit worried. I suspect she'll offer to listen to the hb, which I prob won't be able to resist, so please can you all expect me on here tomorrow night panicking when she couldn't find it Have done very little today, which I think was what I needed, am sure feeling terrible the moment the case finished isn't a coincidence. Bit like when teachers get ill as soon as half term starts - you hold it together while you have to, then it all falls apart. Hoping for less stress from here on in. Though currently it's just a different sort of stress, I've gone from being so busy I struggle to cope to having a diary that is practically empty, so now I'm worrying about money.... oh the joys of self employment

Hope everyone else is ok. Any of you about in London on sat 7th for lunch/tea?

HerNameWasLola · 18/02/2009 19:23

Georgie I forgot to say, if you've chosen Beatrice can I take the credit for mentioning it on here a week or so ago? Have been trying to guess which one of the 3 you've chosen... Will the baby have your P surname or your M surname? Not that that's really going to help me guessing that much!

FruitynNutty · 18/02/2009 19:34

Just a quicky as I'm leaving in a few mins to meet Bella for a burger

Emmsy so lovely to hear from you. I hope something gets sorted with your symptoms soon! Doesn't sound like fun

Lola Ooh yeah, the 7th! I'm definitely up for that. Where abouts?
My over bump jeans used to come up to my boobs but now come half way up my bump and dig in Hope the M/W appointment goes well

I've decided to start with the raspberry leaf tea/pineapple/clary sage/sex/curries etc.... on Sunday. I'll be 36 weeks by then and only a week away from "term".

BellaHarry · 19/02/2009 08:45

Lola I returned my 10L they were really long, I now have the 10R, not bad, I see what you mean about the 'short side'. I can't wait for the summer too, I hate the cold! I have had 48 hour headaches quite a lot, I never thought to go to the doctor, just read on the internet it was common. Hope the doc finds the hb for you. I'm seeing the mw at my surgery on Fri, hopeing they will find the hb then, I've never heard it, seen it but never heard it.

Fruity had a lovely time last night, got home and fell asleep on the sofa! Was sleepy in car on the way home oops!

HerNameWasLola · 19/02/2009 09:05

Bella glad you said that about the 10L, I'd wondered about ordering them to see if they were better but I won't bother. Bring on the flip flops

Glad you and Fruity had a good evening

Fruity glad you're up for 7th I'm not really sure what's happening. I was planning to come up fri night for dinner with a friend (my chief bridesmaid)I text her last night to confirm and she's just replied to say she's made other plans, how about lunch on sat or sun Quite irritated actually. Haven't spoken to her for ages, she doesn't even know I'm pg... Tempted to tell her I can't do lunch but maybe that would be silly... But def want to see you guys if at all possible - will be my last chance before you pop!

Can I ask for some advice from you wise ladies? Current issue is waking up at 4/5am to go to the loo (someone told me this stops in the 2nd trimester when your uterus moves up out of your pelvis, please tell me that's right??) Problem isn't waking up, it's going back to sleep afterwards when I just lie there worrying about things. Current top 2 are the baby (obviously) - whether it's still there, whether it's healthy, and money (or lack of). I'm normally quite good at thinking about "other things" but I'm really struggling atm. Any tips?? I've asked DH if he would mind being the pg one for a while to give me a bit of a break. Just a few days would be nice. Or maybe a week. Or maybe a trimester. Or two.... Seriously though, please help if you can, it's doing me in. Doesn't seem to make any difference what time I go to bed or how tired I am as it's needing the loo that wakes me up and that happens anyway...

Hope you're all having a lovely day Thinking about making some leek and potato soup later, will let you know how it goes and bring some in here for you all if it's any good!

scully · 19/02/2009 12:03

Had all those problems in the 1st trimester Lola. Up to the loo at least once a night and had trouble getting back to sleep, which is very unusual for me. 2nd trimester things have improved, usually sleeping through and if not, I can go back to sleep. Also had the headaches, and I never get headaches when I'm not pregnant, so put it down to the humidity here and that they are common with pregnancy. Good to mention them though as they can be a sympton of other things, or may not be, but at least the m/w can decide that.
I have my scan tomorrow, quite nervous but at least it's at 9am so I don't have to wait around all day. dh is coming with me as well, he hasn't come to the other scans so that is good. We've both taken the day off work so are hoping to see a movie later, last movie we saw together was in 2005, when I was pregnant with dd2 That will give you 1st timers some impact a baby has on your life
How are you and dh doing Ei, tough time, words can't help but am thinking of you
Hope you get some answers soon Emmsy, must be worrying for you, not feeling 100%, especially as you have so much on all the time.
Had a great storm earlier this evening, cooled things down after another sticky day. Raining again now, bloody frogs and toads are making a racket outside, wish they would go and croak somewhere else

BellaHarry · 19/02/2009 16:05

Lola Don't bother with 'L' they're 33" which is an odd length. I'm still up once/twice a night for a pee it never stopped for me I hope you find a way to settle again soon, no tips I'm afraid, I'm a very good sleeper, sorry x

DH and I have just booked tickets to the Baby Show in London next weekend, I'm so excited!!! He took me around the baby shops today playing loudly with the toys and chatting merrily to the assistants like a nutter! Then he bought two books to read to my tummy at night as we read that baby starts to hear stuff soon (obviously not comprehend stories, but it makes him happy)
