Lola poor puppy! living on a boat sounds like fun, was it? As per me an' bump, it's swelling at an alarming rate so I am well and truly out and proud at work, kids and all, they are so perceptive anyway most figured it out two weeks ago!!! Don't panic about the late reply, late is better than never, I remember loads of people didn't bother replying to my wedding invites until months after the deadline, I was just glad when I heard from people! My skin has been sh*!t from day one, and I've never had spots!! got them on my back too, and even in my hair! V gross. I'm also more hairy too! Not all that glamourous eh! xxx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/02/2009 19:49

It's snowing! Woo hoo. Didn't you just love it when it snowed when you were a kid and schoolw as either closed, or you could go in in jeans. Gasp! It's the little things that keep me happy .

New builder was cleaning up the site on friday before commencing with deomolition of our structure (grrr) and found loads of empty vodka, gin and beer bottles. Double grrr . No wonder none of the sodding walls are straight, they were all pissed as farts. . Anyway, we're off to see a solicitor on Friday to begin proceedings against the builder and to see whether we have a case against the architects. New builder has said that he may even be able to get us in by end of June, which would be blardy amazing.

Fruity Hmmm, you have the patience of a saint my love. If your DP was my DP I think I'd have had to have words by now. It is unfair that he's out splashing the cash whilst you're worrying how to pay for your half of the mortgage and bills. You're a team, a paternership; things should be shared equally amongst both of you. it's all for the common good at the end of the day. it's not like you're asking him to facilitate your life of luxury whilst he works 20 hours a day! Very understandable that he needs to let off steam and go off on a bender. But everything in moderation. My darling Granny awalys said, 'slowly, slowly, catchy monkey'. Don't shout, it'll back him into a corner. Just try and calmly explain how worried you are and that you really need him, he's the love of your life, want to spend more time with him blah blah blah. Appeal to his ego. Back it up with a blow job and he's all yours .

Lola Honey, my skin is terrible. Have lumps, bumps and spots in places where I never though you could get spots. Cartilage part of ear (oww), back of neck, back, hair line. Ugh. And my pg (as far as I know) is OK. It's really annoying when you look at pg women who are glowing and all you look like is a stroppy hormonal teenager . Hope the facial goes some way to dealing with it.

Piper Sorry TEW got you. Accupuncture really helped me. Hope it does the same for you.

Ei Blimey, your new GP is on the ball isn't she. That's fab news about the appt. Good, just think, you might even have some answers, or a new way of doing things to get pg in a couple of months. Very excited for you.

Went for a scan on Sat to check that the stitch is OK and that there's no funneling or erosion on my cervix. It all looks good. Yipppeee. And they are 80% sure it's a.....GIRL!!!! So, if it is, then I get my three of a kind!!! Obv have to wait for 20 week scan on 25th Feb to confirm.

Ideas for names please.....

DD1 - Mollie Ava
DD2 - Liberty Violet
DD3 - ????????

Keep warm everyone.

FruitynNutty · 01/02/2009 20:39

Evening all, just a quick one to say
Georgie at what your new builder found! And hooray! for three of a kind I'll have to think up names for you, I adore Olivia but very very common, Button/Jack was going to be Olivia.
Lola My skin was dreadful, much better now though
Piper So sorry about AF, when will you begin acupuncture? Have you found somewhere good?

Colliers Wood looks so lovely covered in snow! I'm hoping it's gone by the morning as I've been roped into picking my Mon/Tues mindee up for the next two weeks while his parents are on holiday. I'm too scared to drive in the snow!

Right, I'm off to watch Lost - can't wait!!!

scully · 02/02/2009 02:32

Wow, 3 of a kind Georgie I'm not finding out what we're having, but we have a good chance of that as well. I am completely uninspired for girl's name this time, the 4 names we had on our short list for dd2 were Michaela, Megan, Madeleine and Georgia. Only name we were considering when she was born was Abby, but it didn't suit her so took us 3wks to decide between the other 4 names
Good luck with the new builders, hopefully with the recession this one will appreciate being in work for the next 5-6mths
London always looks so pretty when it snows, just a pain if you need to leave your house, I remember.
New gp sounds very efficient Ei, that's great to get an appt so soon.
Sorry af got you Piper, acupuncture sounds like a plan, have you had it before?
I booked my 19wk scan today, for 20 Feb. Next midwife appt is on 23 Feb so at least will have the scan results to take with me.

BellaHarry · 02/02/2009 08:29

I got that wonderful call this morning: School's closed due to adverse weather conditions!! Woo hoo!!!!! Long may it fall!

Piper sorry AF got you. Let us know how the (Bella squints)accupuncture goes!!?

Georgie Vodka!!! that's mental!!! I've been thinking; Olivia, Maia, Mia, Rosie, Poppy, and Lilly is the current fave for us.

Forgot to update myself this week nearly two weeks out for me so;

Georgie pmsl at you advice for Fruity, it was all so sensible until the blowjob bit, although on reflection that is probably the most sensible bit of advice any of us have offered her! Seriously [shocked] at the spirit bottles, how awful! Great news that your new builder is being positive and end of June would be superb. In before Little Miss Georgie arrives - How cool would that be. I'm afraid I can't really help you with names as we still don't have any - thinking ours will end up being called baby!

Piper Sorry your back to CD2 What a bummer! Good luck for this month though, keep us posted.

Lola How much time do you think we have spent analysing our bodies/skin/aches/feelings since getting pg. I don't think I've ever been so aware of what my body is doing and it drives you crackers doesn't it? I have found that generally my skin has been better and like you found that with my other pg's it was too until things started to go wrong. I have had some AWFUL breakouts this time though usually when I am a bit tired and run down and you have been working hard recently so it could be that. So try not to worry - it won't change anything - focus on those lovely scans and how they were nothing but good news.
Dining room not quite finished yet but will do pictures when it is. DP seems to have got the message that this baby is coming and is going to decorate nursery this week and at the weekend (including new carpet) while I swan off to Strictly Live with my Stepmum

Scully 17 weeks!! How brilliant is that. Are you going to find out what you are having at your next scan? Enjoy the sunshine whilst watching the UK grind to a halt which it no doubt will. Ah-just finished reading thread and you've already answered by question!

Ei Such good news about your new GP and the beginning of march is not long at all - it must feel such a relief to be doing something proactive after all this time and have your doctor take things seriously.

I would love to be able to not leave house today but I have to take my car for an estimate to get a dent sorted that I did months ago - finally get around to ringing the insurance and it bloody snows! Like you Fruity I hate using the car in the snow -never mind haven't got to go until lunchtime and after that I will be snuggling up for the next 2 days because it is supposed to get worse!

Oh btw - we bought a pram/pushchair yesterday - the icandy cherry - lovely and on offer too! (in fudge for those of you that will no doubt check it out - Lola)

teeheelaydee · 02/02/2009 08:37

Bella Cannot believe your school is closed - I thought we had the worst of it in the East and DP has toddled off on his bike to school - much to his disgust. Lucky you though - best not mention it to DP - he will be seriously

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 02/02/2009 09:11

DD1's school closed. WOOOOOHOOOO. Only problem is that she's stuck in Clapham with her Dad and we're not sure how to get her over to Wimbledon. I don't really want to drive as roads not gritted and trains not running. Am sure we'll figure sometihng out. Desperately want her home with me so me, her and DD2 can go and play snowballs!

Bit worried about DH. He left for work at 6.30am and I haven't been able to get thru to him at work or on the mobile.

More later. Need to make beds and clean up breakfast things before DD2 explodes and runs thru door to get to snow!!! xxx

BellaHarry · 02/02/2009 12:51

Tee Hee oh no it's mental here up to the knees! well mine anyway! DH's school is closed tomorrow, hoping mine will be too!! It's due to snow again at 3:00pm x

FruitynNutty · 02/02/2009 13:38

Well, I didn't have to pick mindee up. I wouldn't have done anyway, his Nan was really sweet, said not to come in morning if snow still bad which I think it might be

I can't believe how much snow there is. It's like when I used to go up to Lincolnshire to see my family at xmas! Never seen it like this in London.
It hasn't stopped either!

My neighbour who brings her baby to me still came this morning, I had to tell her she wouldn't be able to take her oldest to school as it's shut (I really couldn't have taken him, hes the one with Aspergers).
She is a teaching assistant at a secondary school. As all the schools are closed round here I assumed her school would be closed too, she phoned up work and her school is open! Madness! There's not even any tubes/buses running. She took the day off anyway as there was no way of getting to work so I have no mindees today
Just watching "Field Of Dreams" and DP making us chips from scratch .
I really fancy some Rolo's. I might have to go over the road to get some provisions for the afternoon - Rolo's and Dip Dabs

Enjoy the snow everyone!

BellaHarry · 02/02/2009 13:57

Fruity you are a menace! Last night on FB and now here; you have me craving crappy sweets now!!! I don't even have any cravings!!! Grrr x

FruitynNutty · 02/02/2009 14:03

hahaha, did you enjoy your Monster Munch then? I want some more! I don't think my local sweet shop will sell them though - got mine from Sains yesterday -I'm not going up there today, don't care how much I want them!

I've just thought, can you still buy Rolos? I don't think I've even noticed them for ages

FruitynNutty · 02/02/2009 14:05

mmmmmmmmm homemade chip butty, This is the life!

BellaHarry · 02/02/2009 15:07

I believe rolos are still made. Monster
Munch were fab! Had Wheat Crunchies today! x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 02/02/2009 15:32

Just polished off some cheese balls crips. Yumm!!!! Oh, and 5 squares of Cadbury's Caramel. Feeling abit queasy now..... but sooooo worth it.

Finally managed to track down DH. He'd walked from Waterloo to Canary Wharf. NUTTER!!!! Work are keeping him at Thwe Whard tonight and putting him up in a hotel. Lucky bugger.

Going to make soem cakes with the DD's this arvo I think. DD1 has made a great snowman in the back garden.

Oh, and just when I thought that everything was going slightly more smoothly for us..... got a call last night from my neighbour in Streatham to say that the large tree in my garden had fallen over into her property. . Eek. Now trying to get info out of stupid management company (we're all leasholders) as to who is responsible for getting rid of the tree. Sheesh.

I am SURE I have a shit magnet permanently attached to me .

BellaHarry · 02/02/2009 19:30

Georgie their cheeky eh! Keeping him there so he can get to work eh! Sneeky indeed.

I'm off work again tomorrow!!! Woo hoo I've never been a fan of snow until today!!!

mibbes · 02/02/2009 21:44

Hello ladies !

I was on here a few days ago and did a big post after I'd caught up on recent news then it wouldn't post it due to the MN major facelift that was happening - grrrr... so am just popping on to let you know that I'm trying my best to keep up but just not got much time to post.

Lola I wanted to say that I was paranoid about buying stuff incase I jinxed the PG - I insisted that nobody bought anything until 20 weeks (but found out afterwards that some family had been sneakily buying things !) and by 30 weeks I was way more happy to actually start shopping 'properly'

Fruity I can't believe how far on you are - how exciting - loving your cravings ! I remember on our AN thread someone would mention something then we'd all want one ! e.g. dime bars, various crisps etc... mmmm

Ei hurray for your GP, am so glad things are movng for you hun xx

did anyone post bump pics ?....

Sorry I can't mention all of you lovelies but tired mummy needs some sleep zzz....

mibbes xx

scully · 03/02/2009 00:59

I'm so envious of all the snow, especially as it sounds proper snow and isn't melting after 10min
Hope you all manage to get as much time off work/school as possible because of it
Humid here today, but not as unbearable as it has been. Just about to go on Ebay and have a look for some more maternity clothes for me, don't need loads but a few more things would be nice.
dd2 is currently watching 'Mamma Mia' for the 2nd time this morning I have cleaned the house this morning and am now rather tired, so being slack right now and letting her watch too much tv. Both dd's major Abba fans, they know all the words, even dd2
Amazingly haven't been craving too much crappy food this time, main thing would be KFC chips and gravy, but can't even have them very often as the dd's want to share them and if I buy food when we're out, then they hassle me to buy things every time, so it means I miss out most of the time. Very difficult when I was feeling so sick, and we had school holidays
Just rang the Family Assistance office (govt dept that organises all the family related benefits) and we are expecting our quarterly childcare rebate any week now (50% of our out of pocket childcare expenses paid back to us each quarter by the govt). dd2's childcare centre has sent through all their info to the govt but dd1's hasn't, so that is delaying the rebate, grrr.....It should be around $1k which would be very handy right now.

FruitynNutty · 03/02/2009 07:32

Well another duvet day for me today!
mibbes I don't think they are cravings, just sheer greed! . No I can't believe how far I am already either, 33 weeks now

Scully That money is making my mouth water I hope you get it soon!

scully · 03/02/2009 10:34

Our prime minister today announced a 2nd package to try and stimulate the economy. Trouble is we will now have a federal budget deficit for the first time in years The handouts will be nice, but it's only going to ward off the recession short-term, with UK, US and China going under, we're sure to follow, however they try and avoid it......
I am looking forward to submitting our tax returns in July though, we are owed $3k before our tax refunds have even being calculated
Has it stopped snowing yet?

BellaHarry · 03/02/2009 11:14

Scully the snow in London is slowing now and the sky is sunny so not long untill it all melts away and we're back to normality...good while it lasted though!!!

BellaHarry · 03/02/2009 16:56

Where is everyone today? no one has posted since me!? Surely not...am I that bored!?

Well I have a question for anyine who is or has been pregnant...I occasionaly get these stabbing twinges in my cervix nothing major and only occasionally don't last long or anything, they feel a bit like when you've had an invasive smear done...any ideas? I thought it might be the baby moving and hitting the inside of my cervix?
