Hi devilsadvocat

They say thay your best chances are before ovulation, the 3days running up to it and the day of ov are good.

Alot of people have been following the the deanna plan which outlines best timing etc.

I have also been charting on fertilityfriend which gives the best days and charts your info for you.

Hope that helps

ok thanks for the deanna link!

last qu, honest guv:

what does cycle mean? number of months trying?

DevilsAdvocaat · 06/01/2009 13:49

i mean in the list on this thread...

girlwithacurl · 06/01/2009 13:52

Hello! Cycle is number of months trying and CD is calender day, ie. number of days since AF. I am using ov sticks as have been trying for nearly a year now. like pinkie also using fertility friend and the Deanna plan, although I have modified it as I have a long cycle and tend to ov on CD21... if i started OPK's on CD10 that would be alot of POAS, and it can get addictive you know

iggypiggy · 06/01/2009 14:11

Ralphie

Cycle is how many cycles (eg. I have a 27 day cycle and I have been trying for 4 of them - so since October basically)

CD is Cycle day - so I am CD1 because my cycle started today

Is that what you meant?

DevilsAdvocaat · 06/01/2009 14:28

girlwithacurl,

opk

poas

wha....?

DevilsAdvocaat · 06/01/2009 14:29

the more i dig, the deeper the hole gets...

iggypiggy · 06/01/2009 14:34

OPK = ovulation predictor kit

am guessing POAS - is pee on a stick?

DevilsAdvocaat · 06/01/2009 14:48

lol and ew.

girlwithacurl · 06/01/2009 14:53

ew = egg white
Dont worry before you know it you will be fully conversant!

DevilsAdvocaat · 06/01/2009 14:54

brilliant.
will i get some sort of certificate?

fatandiknowit · 06/01/2009 15:30

well back to reality for me today ,the heating broke down at college so i was frezzing all day, after lunch i have pain in my side for a while ,could this be ov pain???? i have never felt it before so really would not know .Also had a bit of a wobble about another baby,if I'm doing the right thing etc ,i know i am really but they come and go lol i hope this month goes really quick and we start to see some BFP's soon i have my fingers crossed for everyone and hope we all end up on the due Oct thread together

WizzyWoo · 06/01/2009 16:22

I've just come home from work and logged on and the responses to DevilsAdvocaat's q's have really enlightened me - never thought much about ewcm before but will be keeping my eyes peeled later in the month.

I haven't bought an ov kit, mainly because we've only recently started trying so I thought I'd give it until the end of this month before I do. Any kits better than others? They seem quite pricey so I'd appreciate a recommendation if poss...

Hate having AF - just devoured considerable amount of DD's white chocolate from xmas so now feeling guilty and kinda queasy (serves me right!)

Ralphie0956 · 06/01/2009 16:25

FifiOK · 06/01/2009 17:00

Wizzy I bought a load of Ovulation predictor sticks from this site £11.50 for 50. They are a few instructions on the back of each sachet, but they were out of stock of full instructions when I ordered. However I've kind of worked out how to use them from all the helpful hints on MN. I can't say if they work as I won't start using them for a couple of days but will let you know how I get on. I've never used them before as my ds & dd were conceived very quickly, but this time round things are taking a little longer so I'm looking for a bit of reassurance that I am actually ovulating. As you say, maybe see how you get on this month before getting too technical.

WizzyWoo · 06/01/2009 17:02

Can I ask a personal question please - has anyone suffered tearing first time round and if so, were you able to have normal delivery for the next baby?

theboob · 06/01/2009 17:05

I had epesiotomy (cant spell) with 50 stiches first time round, then with DD just slight tear on old scar2 stiches ,then with DS2 just a little graze that did not require anything so i got better with every delivery

WizzyWoo · 06/01/2009 20:14

Thank you theboob, that's v reassuring I had episiotomy and 2nd degree tear last time round which has only just healed enough to bd comfortably. Poor dh is probably so desperate to ttc because of the drought he's had to put up with over the last year!

earlynite · 06/01/2009 20:23

Hi While we're talking about delivery. Anyone have experience of VBAC?? Had a 36hr labour resulting in Emergency C section and 9lb 9oz baby 1st time.

littlemiss26 · 06/01/2009 20:28

earlynite i beat you... my little porker was 10lb 5ozs. Not even considering VBAC!

earlynite · 06/01/2009 20:40

Littlemiss. Whince! Probably a bit premature to be thinking about delivery yet anyway.

littlemiss26 · 06/01/2009 20:57

this is true, but i was thinking about it last month when i had my booking in for what turned out to be my mmc. I weighed it all up and decided a definate section! tbh with such a long labour i'm impressed you even consider VBAC an appealing option

Ralphie0956 · 06/01/2009 21:03

I think you're all starting to put me off pregnancy LOL.

I have been told I have child bearing hips so l hope that when the day finally arrives i'll have no touble (wishful thinking)

Seriously (sorry to get to into it, but it's handy to know) did you feel the tearing/cut?
I can only imagine the pain of going to toilet afterwards
